Hello Stampin’ Friends ~
Oh yes … you’ve read that right, we are coloring our designer paper. I picked another pattern from the pretty “True Love Designer Series Paper”- (Retiring). You will be amazed at how simple this is to do, and what a stunning result you will achieve!! I picked the beautiful Soft Seafoam Stampin’ Blend and coordinating cardstock for my first card.
I used the “Light” Soft Sea Foam Stampin’ Blend to color the “background” … not the flowers!! Wow … what a difference that makes on your paper and look how it makes those beautiful white flowers pop off the page!
- The Designer paper strip is 2″ x 5-1/4″
- Basic Black Mat 2-1/4″ x 5-1/4″
- Basic White background 4″ x 5-1/4″
- Soft Sea Foam 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 (Score at 4-1/4″)
Look what happens when you add some Wink of Stella to the flowers (I left one without Stella so you could see the difference it makes) ….
The white background was stamped with Tuxedo Black Momento Ink, and I chose a sentiment from the embossed with the Enjoy the Moment Stamp Set found in the Mini Catalog. Once stamped, I embossed it with the Subtle 3-D Embossing Folder.
For my second card, I colored the background using the “Light” Balmy Blue Stampin’ Blend. Then … I used my Sponge Daubers to add “Blushing Bride” to the flowers and “Pear Pizzazz” to the leaves. Combining the colored background and then adding a touch of color really creates a stylish color design …
My Blushing Bride cardbase front was embossed with the Subtle 3-D Embossing Folder. I then layered my colored designer paper onto my “off center” Basic Black mat … I set the black off to really make a statement on this card … the greeting acts as the focal point.
- Blushing Bride: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ (Scored at 4-1/4″)
- True Love Designer Series Paper: 3-1/2″ x 4-1/4″
- Basic Black Mat: 3-1/2″ x 4-1/4″
Then I just used scrap pieces to stamp my greeting and die cut it with the Stitched Framelits Dies, and the black mat from the Layered Circle Dies.
You can see how I off set the Basic Black mat from the colored Designer paper. I was going to add embellishments but it just didn’t need them!
