Happy National Lighthouse Day

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I just wanted to share a bit on my vacation with you. My friends and I are vacationing near Hayward, Wisconsin which turns out to be a great base camp to find Lighthouses and Waterfalls!

The first Lighthouse we found by accident when we stopped to check out the beach in Ashland, Wisconsin ….

Many of you know that I have a fascination with lighthouses. To me they are a sign of strength and perseverance, a beacon of light to shine on anyone who may need it. As you can see, it is part of my logo above …. they are majestic.

On Thursday we did a boat tour around the Apostle Island and saw both the Devils Island and Raspberry Island Lighthouses. This is the Devils Island Lighthouse and sits above the sea caves ….

Simply beautiful … both the lighthouse and the sea caves. As pretty as this picture is, it does not do them justice. The next lighthouse is the Raspberry Island Lighthouse.

On Friday we took a boat tour to the island and toured both the grounds and the lighthouse itself … we even climbed the tower and stood outside by the top railing (sorry, but the limited wifi did not send all my pictures through).

Let me just say … you needed to climb (crawl) through a little doorway (maybe 3′ x 3′) to get out there, but once I got to the top I wasn’t going to stop! lol She is truly a beautiful and stately lighthouse.

If you ever get to the Apostle Islands, it’s a must see. The National Park Staff are amazing and give you a tour like no other!! I don’t want to spoil the fun by telling you all.

Thank you for hanging out with me … hope you enjoyed my share even though it was a bit limited. I’d love to hear your thoughts on lighthouses, or your trip!

Have a great day and Happy National Lighthouse day!! Linda

Road Tripping with Eileen …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I’m going to take you along on a little road trip that Eileen and I took to Door County yesterday … Egg Harbor to be exact!

We went up to see one of Eileen’s favorite bands “Tonic Solfa”. I must admit, they are great and I really enjoy seeing them too.  It was an outdoor concert so after our dinner at the Florian II Supper Club (yes, I was so excited to finally get to a supper club again) we went back to Egg Harbor for the show …

It was a beautiful night, a little iffy because of the rain earlier but the show went on as planned.

Let me introduce you to Tonic Solfa…

Here’s one they sang …

And I’ll sign off with the beautiful sunset to a great day with my sister!

Thanks for stopping by today ~
