Happy Birthday Man!

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Hope you are having a nice weekend.  A bit rainy here in Wisconsin but at least it’s not snow … I am not ready for that!

Today I want to share with you a simple birthday card for a man.  “Man” cards are some of my most requested.

This card was actually inspired by the “paper” … I am using a birch looking paper that came out of the Holiday catalog.  You can find it on page 18 in the “Thankful Tablescape Simply Created Kit”.  Keep checking in on my blog, because I plan on showing you more cards and projects that you can create using this kit!

Stampin’ Tip: We discovered that it is best to use “Sticky Strip” when adhering your “birch paper” … because it comes on a roll, it wants to hold that curl, and pulls off the cardstock, when using a regular adhesive.

Next, I chose the pheasant from “Walk in the Wild” because I haven’t used him yet, and I thought he looked nice with the paper.  I also wanted to use the “Squares Collection” Framelits because I haven’t used them either!  I hope I can inspire you to pull out one of those items you haven’t used yet and start creating… it’s fun!

Once I had my pheasant stamped and cut out … I didn’t have the heart to cover up all the cool looking birch paper, so I used the next size up square framelit, and cut the piece out of the birch paper!  Now I can use that piece in one of my upcoming cards!  It also gave the card a “faux mat” look.  I attached the pheasant into the square and now it appears as if it’s matted!

My “Happy Birthday” greeting comes from the “Itty Bitty Banners” stamp set found on page 30 of the big catalog.  It coordinates with the “Bitty Banner” Framelits so you don’t have to cut out your banners by hand!  Oh, I love that!  I curled my ends and popped it up with the Stampin’ dimensionals.

If the texture of the Birch paper isn’t enough for you, you can add the ribbon banners like I did to add a bit more texture and dimension to the card.  I began with the “7/16 Natural Trim – pg. 173 and then pulled in a bit more color by adding the 1/4” Early Espresso Stitched Grosgrain.

Hope you enjoyed today’s card share … Thanks for stopping by!

Have a wonderful Sunday!
