FUN FOLD: Accordion Z-Fold Birthday Card

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Here’s another beauty that will be retiring, the Happiness Abounds Bundle and the Hues of Happiness Designer paper… going to be hard to let this one go. Today I’d love to share this beautiful card with you that is enhance with the Accordion Z-Fold.

For my birthday card I used the Hues of Happiness Designer paper …

I began with my Night of Navy card base and the Hues of Happiness Designer Series Paper … You can see that I have used the coordinating dies to cut the floral pieces for the front. I will share measurement below so your can try out this car too.

Measurements: Card Base: (Night of Navy) 5-1/2″ x 11″ scored at 1-3/4″, 3-1/2″, 5-1/4″ and 7 on the 11″ side. Hues of Happiness and white embosses panels on accordion: 1-1/2″ x 5-1/4″, DSP on inside: 3-3/4″ x 5-1/4″, Folded mechanism: Night of Navy – 3″ x 6″ scored at 3″ on 6″ side and (3) White squares 2-3/4″ x 2-3/4″, Night of Navy mat for the white inside is cut 3″ square and will be placed onto the designer paper as shown. Use the alignment tip that I shared in yesterday’s video.

I used the Painted Texture embossing folder on the two white panels on the inside of the card. Greetings were stamped from the Happiness Abounds bundle in Night of Navy… and to complete my card, I added a few Iridescent Rhinestones. Who doesn’t love a little sparkle?

I hope you have time this weekend to play with these fun folds that I have shared in the past two days. Have fun and enjoy!!

Beautifully Happy & Watercolor Pencils

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I’m going to introduce you to the magic of Beautifully Happy & Water color pencils, these two make the perfect coloring combination and it’s great for beginner stampers, or anyone of us who just loves to color. The Beautifully Happy Stamp Set can be found in our Sale-a-bration Catalog.

We begin with a plain white (Basic White) piece of paper and stamp your image with the Momento or the StazOn ink. Then I lightly color in my petals with the “Balmy Blue” watercolor pencil … I’m using Assortment 2 (found on page 126) in the Annual Catalog.

Next, I darken the area closest to the center where the flower dips down and again by following the lines in the stamped image. Now you can blend your pencil color with the Blender Pens. These are filled with specialized solution for easier blending. I did the same technique with my leaves in Garden Green, and a little dab of Crushed Curry for the center of my flower.

Once I completed my coloring, which I find so relaxing, in fact … I like to stamp several images and color them all at once, then set them aside for when I need a quick card. The base and front piece for my card are both Basic White. The front piece was embossed with the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder. The flower image was then attached to the front of my card using the Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The greeting comes from the Beautifully Happy stamp set. If those pretty Hollyhocks don’t get you, the beautiful sentiments in this set will. They are a perfect combination to make “beautiful” cards with the perfect sentiment. I used the Double Oval punch to highlight my greeting and pop it up.

To complete the look, I added the Mango embellishments from the Adhesive Backed Milky Dots … my new favorites! You will find them on page 31 of the Jan-April Mini Catalog. The come in four colors; Mango Melody, Night of Navy, Petal Pink and Clear. They just seem to go with anything!

I hope you were inspired to pick up your Watercolor Pencils again, learned a new stampin’ tip, or hack for quick cards. Let me know in the comments below.

Thank you for stopping by today! Have a fabulous Monday.

Simply Sunday: Fancy Flora Designer Paper

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Happy New Year!! Today I have four cards to share with you that I created using the Fancy Flora Designer paper … yes, it is the paper you’ve seen the past couple days. This pattern is bright and colorful and full of texture. I paired it with the Adorable Owls, Gnomes and Banners!

I began with one pattern from the Fancy Flora paper and cut it into 4 – 3″ x 3″ piece …. thus the start of your 4 cards. I chose Basic Gray as my mat behind each of the pieces for my cards. The cards are simple yet cute cards so you will fall in love with how cute they are and how easy they are to make.

By matting the Fancy Flora designer paper it reminds me of a “framed” picture and the pattern is so fun and whimsical I thought it was perfect to add our Adorable Owl that are in the Sale-a-bration catalog that goes LIVE on January 5th. I used our Stampin’ Blends to color my owl and picked the Fresh Freesia cardstock for my base…. It’s Your Day was stamped three times. Keepin’ it Simple.

My second card has a different cards base … Soft Sea Foam. All of the colors I am using in todays cards coordinate with the designer paper. Again, using basic stamping and Stampin’ Blends for the owl.

Now we’re going to change it up a bit and use one of our gnomes ….

Isn’t it amazing how the same small piece of designer paper looks different when you add different elements. Owl little owls had a spring vibe and here you get a bit of winter … just like our weather! Snow one day … 40 degrees the next. Card base is Balmy Blue!

For my last card, I stepped it up a bit more …

The card base is Basic Gray and the card front is Fresh Freesia and then embossed with the Textured Paint Embossing Folder. I used the Balmy Blue, Basic Gray, and Fresh Freesia scraps to make my banners and the greeting comes from the Tulip stamp set.

Hope you enjoyed taking a peek at my quickie cards! We only have a few more days until the new catalogs go LIVE. I just adore those Adorable Owls and now you have seen that you can go from “fancy” to “fun” with the Fancy Flora designer paper.

Have a Happy New Year and a great day ~

Sneak Peek: Celebrating You Card

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

I’m excited to share a Sneak Peek with my Celebrating You Card today. It’s a fun combination of what’s in our Annual Catalog with some of our beautiful NEW items in the Jan-April Mini Catalog.

If you joined me for my Facebook LIVE yesterday you would have gotten a good look up close to some of these ….

I couldn’t wait to get my hands on the beautiful “Fancy Flora” 6 x 6 Designer Paper (160413) it’s so pretty and I love the painted look of it. I paired this pattern with Starry Sky even though the coordinating colors are Night of Navy and Orchid Oasis … I thought it made a bolder statement, and with the varying shades of blue I though it matched well.

Now, let’s talk about that butterfly – I chose one from the Brilliant Wings dies and had to try the NEW Fine Shimmer paper (160428). I misquoted you the colors last night, they are actually Soft Succulent, Fresh Freesia, and Gold … that makes much more sense!! AND it coordinates with the Fancy Flora designer paper I used (it’s even on the same page in the Mini Catalog).

I’m hoping those butterflies don’t fly away when the Annual Catalog retires in April … if you don’t have them already, you will want them in your dies collection.

I had to get a close up to show you the FINE glimmer on this paper… it really is stunning. My lighting does it no justice (I see an investment in some new lighting equipment needed – lol). You will also see the Adhesive Backed Milky Dots … I love those colors!!

I used the greeting from our Celebrating You stamp set and punched it with the Double Oval Punch. You could also stamp directly onto the paper but I didn’t want to loose that greeting because your eye is drawn right to the butterfly.

I hope you enjoyed this quick sneak peek and if you’d like to see the REPLAY of last nights “Walk Through” you can head over to my Facebook page or I’ll have it posted tomorrow on YouTube.

Thank you for stopping by. Have a great day ~

Daisy Garden: Spotlighting Technique

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Tired of the cold? I’ve got the perfect card to warm you up … bright and colorful highlighting the Daisy Garden Stamp set and the Spotlight Technique! This little cutie will make you yearn for Spring!

*** I love this technique – It’s a great way to add a pop of color to images that one would think needs the entire image to be colored, so it’s quick and easy and still beautiful.

Measurements

  • Parakeet Party:  5 ½” x 8 ½”, scored at 4 ¼”
  • Polished Pink: 4” x 5 ¼”
  • 2 pieces of Shimmery White: 3 ¾” x 5”

Instructions:

  • Stamp the Daisy Garden Stamp on 2 separate pieces of Shimmery White cardstock. (Use the Stamparatus to ensure that you have a nicely stamped dark image. If a part of the image is not stamped nicely on the cardstock, you can re-ink and stamp it again.)
  • Use the 3 smallest sizes of the circle dies from the Stylish Shapes Dies cut out pieces from the 2nd stamped Shimmery White cardstock.
  • Colour the flowers and leaves that are in the cut-out circles using Stampin’ Blends. (Tip: I used the Light Pool Party Stampin’ Blend to fill all the “white space” on the circles.)
  • Use the Wink of Stella Glitter Brush to add shimmer to the flower petals.
  • Add a piece of ribbon to the fully stamped Shimmery White cardstock. Take a smaller piece of ribbon and tie a knot on the right hand side of the card.
  • Add the Stitched Circles on top of the cardstock using Dimensionals.
  • Adhere the Shimmery White cardstock to the Parakeet Party cardstock.
  • Add the layers to the card using Stampin’ Seal Adhesive.
  • Stamp the greeting from Sweet Songbirds stamp set on a small piece of Shimmery White cardstock using the Polished Pink ink. (I cut the cardstock to the correct size after stamping it)

I hope this card inspires you to try out this technique … it really is quite simple, and can really add a pop of color! What a great way to warm someones day when it’s so cold outside (at least it is where I am) lol

Thanks for joining me today, hope your day is a good one.

Easy Heat Embossed Birthday Card

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I have a beautiful card for you! It’s an easy heat embossed birthday card that will WOW your friends and family. I created this with the Artfully Composed Suite. Yes, the same stamp set and dies that I just announced a New Class with.

This stunning beauty was done in Evening Evergreen (one of our in colors) and embossed in Gold. I took the basic card base cut at 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ the scored and folded at 4-1/4″ and stamped the front of it with the leaves using the Evening Evergreen ink. I love color on color as it adds a nice richness to the card, and gives it dimension by just stamping.

Next, I used the VersaMark ink to stamp the leaves all over the Evening Evergreen front (5″ x 3-3/4″) and then covered it with Gold Embossing powder, tapped off the excess and heat embossed until it was a beautiful, shiny gold!!

Once embossed, I layered it onto a 5-1/4″ x 4″ piece of Gold Foil paper. I usually cut out leaves or the mat for my greeting out of the center of the gold as not to waste any (can’t see that part anyway!!

Then I stamped my greeting in Evening Evergreen on a piece of scrap and then cut it out. You can use dies or punches if you prefer. I layered it with a piece of Evening Evergreen and cut to match and then popped it up using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

To finish off the card, I added some of the beautiful Gold dots from the Brushed Metallic Dots. I appreciate you stopping by my blog!

I hope I inspired you to pull out your heat gun again and do some embossing, or better yet … join my class on June 16th (Find Details Here) and discover all you can do with this amazing suite of products. Today we just touched the surface with our Easy Heat Embossed Birthday Card!

Thanks again for stopping by! Linda

I have a list of the products used below for your convenience so you may add this to your stamping collection.

Simply Sunday: Words of Cheer

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

I hope you are all having a beautiful day! Today I would like to share a card that I made for my daughters birthday … and yes, I am using the Words of Cheer bundle that most people look at as “Christmas”.

It may have been designed for Christmas but I’d like to show you how to maximize your purchase by creating beautiful cards for any occasion or season! I teamed the Words of Cheer bundle with the Whimsy paper (already SOLD OUT) but I want you to look past the paper because I made a “Shaker Card” ….

To create the “shaker” I used the Rectangle Stitched Dies and cut out a frame. I attached my window sheet to the back of the frame and then added the Adhesive Strips … soooo, easy to use! Then I sprinkled my sequins on the front of my card where I wanted my window to go, peeled off the backing of the Adhesive Strips and ta da!! Shaker Card!!

The bundle comes with the “layering” word dies so I used the “happy” … cut the mat out of silver and the accent with designer paper, then I simply hand stamped the birthday, cut it out and attached it to the front all together.

My daughters birthday is December 23rd so it’s easy to see why I used this designer paper. I am not surprised it sold out when the retirement list went out, it was very popular … You can CLICK HERE to see the retirement list. Items sell fast, and our Words of Cheer bundle is also on that list!

I thank you for joining me on this Sunday and wish you a beautiful day ~
