Water-based, Memento or StazOn … Which INK do I choose?

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Today I want to address Water-based, Memento and StazOn inks and which you should use for your stamping projects. These three are different types of inks used for various stamping and crafting purposes. Each has their own unique characteristics and uses … join me as I share these with you.

Let’s begin with the Water-based inks. These are Stampin’ Up!s main type of inks and were created to coordinate with our cardstock, markers, Stampin’ Blends (alcohol markers), designer papers and more!

Our next ink that was introduced was the StazOn ink. You will note a stronger odor than other ink pads because it is a solvent based ink. Great for quick drying and more …

Our latest ink to join our catalog was the Memento Ink … This is my favorite black, and yes, StazOn used to be but I use Memento ink so much more. One thing I did not mention in the list below was it was brought in to pair with our Stampin’ Blends (Alcohol Markers). The Memento ink will NOT Smear while coloring with these wonderful markers. Check out the rest of the qualities below ….

Let me summarize for you that the main differences between these inks are the composition, the drying time, compatibility with different services and it’s intended use. The choice between the water-based ink, StazOn ink, and Memento ink depends on your specific stamping project and they type of surface you are working on.

The Stampin’ Up! water-based inks are perfect for your cardmaking, and they hold many different techniques you can use … I will be sharing some of those in upcoming posts! If you love to watercolor …. your base image is best stamped with StazOn, but if you love your Stampin’ Blends and want to color with those, then the Memento ink is your go to ink.

My passion is to help you understand the tools that work best for your stamping projects. Experiment and have fun … no stress allowed!

Have a fabulous Saturday my friends.
