Using Scraps to Create Beautiful Cards ….

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

And a Happy 4th of July to you and your family. I hope you are out enjoying the festivities, if that is not your thing, I’m thrilled that you stopped here to visit me! I have a fun card created with the Garden Lane Designer Series paper. I find that designer papers are one of the quickest ways to create fun, beautiful cards and we have so many beautiful papers.

Todays card was created simply with some left over designer paper and scraps … those little pieces we don’t know what to do with but never throw away …lol.  A quilt makes a good pattern, today’s is simple – a 3-1/2″ x 3-1/2″ Mint Macaroon base with 4 pieces of Garden Lane Designer paper measuring at 1-1/2″ x 1-1/2″ squares.

Adhere the small squares evenly onto the Mint Macaroon base. To add some texture to the card, I added a Clear Faceted Gem to the center with the Mossy Meadow Bakers twine from the Magnolia Lane Ribbon Combo pack behind it. Because I added the twine to the adhesive on the gem, you can either use Glue Dots or a small dimensional to adhere the gem to the card.  Don’t you love the dimension and the texture of this card ….

The base is Whisper White and cut horizontally to an 4-1/4″ by 11″ size where you will score and fold at 5-1/2″ (center). The front of the card base has a 4″ x 4″ coordinating piece of Garden Lane Designer paper that is mounted directly to the card base approximately 1/4″ from the top.  The quilt piece described above was mounted with Stampin’ Dimensionals to add some additional dimension.

The greeting comes from the Good Morning Magnolia stamp set and is stamped in the Mint Macaroon. This is the perfect layout for any occasion … just change out the designer paper and the greeting!

Thanks again for joining me on this 4th of July … I’ve enjoyed your company!

Have a wonderful day and a safe and happy holiday weekend.
