Spring Stampin’ Retreat Share …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

As promised, I will share some of what we do when we are away at the Annual Spring Stampin’ Retreat we host for our stamping friends!

The first photo is a shot I took between stamping sessions, just before sunset. The porch you see on your right is our stamping room and the house of the left is where we stay.

Now let me take you into the dining room. The mantle is decorated and ready for their projects… they will be making the Gift Bags on Friday night (after stamp session is over). They are that quick and easy to do!

We created a fun banner from the “It’s My Party” Designer Series Paper over the living room fireplace … the Green Lake Conference Center converted it from a wood burning to a gas … so with a flip of a switch – we had a warm inviting fire for all to enjoy!

The stamping room is set up and ready for our guests to begin ….

The next picture is just some fun that we have at our retreats …. These ladies did not know each other before attending our retreat, and have now become friends. That is the wonderful gift that stamping does when we all get together! Sandy and Kris come for some BFF time! It’s a great girls get-a-way!

Here’s a few more of our ladies. The women (Peggy) sitting in the third chair down, hails from Oklahoma! She found my retreat post and decided to invite her daughter (Jen) for a bonding weekend! I LOVE IT!!  We have many “Mother / Daughter” groups (three this weekend) join us! Ann-Marie is the first of the three ladies … her daughter was away when the photo was taken.

By the time I got to take pictures of all the cards – both samples I brought to share and the one’s we made, the light was so bright in the room, my pictures did not turn out well …

We made the “Card in a Box” and the “Drapery Fold” card on Friday night, showcasing the “It’s My Party” Product Suite. My goal is not only to show a technique or two, and give you beautiful cards, but to show you multiple ways you can use your Stampin’ Up! products.

~

Here is what one of our guests had to say about our Spring Stampin’ Retreat: Jen is hoping to get the dates early enough to make arrangements to attend this fall. We were both very impressed. We would rate everything an A+.

I am humbled and grateful for all of the wonderful ladies that we have met and attended our Spring and /or Fall Retreats. We’re are 5 years strong … and not planning on stopping anytime soon!

We always have a good time at retreat! I did notice one thing … I get so busy setting up for the next stamp sessions that I don’t ever take pictures of our delicious food, and not enough of the wonderful guests that have come to our retreats! That is definitely on my TO DO List!

I’ll be back tomorrow with some of the beautiful cards our guests made for our Annual Card Swap!

Thanks so much for stopping by ~

Have yourself a wonderful day!

ALL IS CALM … In Black & Gold

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I want to share with you a beautiful card that showcases one of this years hottest trends: Black and Gold! This is another of the swap cards made for our Holiday Stampin’ Retreat. Our guest stamper today is Anne.

000_2827

This layered Whisper White card has just the right amount of black and gold to make this card so elegant. I love the textured background using our new “Softly Falling” embossing folder.

The banners were created using the Triple Banner punch and highlight the “Festival of Tree’s” stamp set and “Tree” punch. All three items can be found in the main Stampin’ Up! catalog. The Gold Cord Trim that adds that touch of glimmer to the card can be found in the Holiday catalog on page 24.

The greeting comes from the “Wonderland” stamp set … very popular stamp set this year.  Check it out, you’ll find it on page 23 of the Holiday catalog.

The star and gold banner were created using the gold Foil Sheets in the main catalog. This gorgeous card was then topped off with the pretty pearls.

What do you think of this new trend of Black & Gold? I’d love to hear your thoughts.

Thanks for dropping in today.

Hope your day is a good one.

TODAY’S STAMPIN’ SUPPLY LIST ….

000_2827

Simply Sunday: Guest Stamper – Eileen S.

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Today I have another swap card that I wanted to share with you. My sister Eileen made this card for our Holiday Stamping Retreat Swap. It is so pretty and easy to recreate!

Let’s begin with our base colors: Mossy Meadow and Whisper White. One of the Mossy Meadow layers was embossed with the “Stylish Stripes” embossing folder from the main Stampin’ Up! catalog.

000_2821

The next layer features the cheerful “Merry Moments” Designer Series Paper. This is also in our main catalog and has such fun patterns! It’s a must have on your Christmas list!

The greeting is one of my favorites this year and comes from the new “Cozy Christmas” stamp set found in the Holiday Catalog on page 9. It’s just one of the fabulous products in the “Home for Christmas” Suite.

I can’t forget to mention the “Metallic Foil Doilies” … it really draws your eye to the focal point, which is your greeting, and adds enough shine to really make you think Christmas!

000_2818

I hope you enjoyed this card as much as all of us at retreat did, and thank you for stopping over to my blog today.

Have a beautiful Sunday ~

Retreat Share …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

I am back from another wonderful Holiday Retreat … it was a great time shared with fabulous ladies once again.  Our retreats are all inclusive, so their accommodations, meals and all their projects are all included.

Saturday was rainy, but we all agreed it was a good day for stamping … and listening to Christmas music. It really puts you in a “cheerful” mood.

1901299_740543995982411_7848053151612984471_n

We also host a “Swap” where each person brings enough cards for all participants and then vote on the one they like best. As always … the swap cards were great! I will be sharing them throughout the next couple of weeks, including a few of the projects that I created for them.

I will start with two cards today …

First I will share Patricia’s card. This is Patricia’s second time with us and she comes for the wonderful get-a-way, stamping, and to spend time with her sister.

000_2779

Christmas really is the most wonderful time of year and you really feel that with Patricia’s Red & Green Card. I love the extra little glitter she added to her background stamp to glitz it up for us.

The next card is from Dawn …

000_2781

Dawn hand cut her cute little mittens and then topped them off with the glitter glue and Silver Glimmer paper!! This is just the sweetest little card and I love the added rhinestones colored red. I think our Rhinestones and Sharpies are best friends.

Keep checkin’ in for more swap cards and projects from our Holiday Retreat. In fact … you should think about joining us for our Spring Retreat!! Save the Date … April 22nd, 23rd and 24th.  Make sure you are signed up on my MAILING LIST … You can sign up right from my blog > It’s located in the lower right-hand corner of the Black Banner on the top of this page.

Thank you for dropping by today ~

Hope you day is a great one!!

Sad to say goodbye …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

For those of you who followed my past few posts, you know that I was away at our second of two Spring Retreats. As the first, we had a wonderful time, plus we were blessed with a most beautiful weekend.

IMG_20150419_073331

Yesterday I showed you how I set up my stamp room for our guests … here is a pic of our afternoon stamping session:

Our guests are creating one of the many projects we have prepared for them. All of our cards were created with different “folds” …

11218768_897324510339645_7939395352458968612_n

We take several breaks throughout the day … it feels good to stretch! Plus there is always a good meal waiting for them when they return to the house.  Here is a shot of our last stamping session …

11178364_897465696992193_4765070950460322918_n

After this session we returned to the house for dessert and good conversation. It was a beautiful night, and just shy of the full moon.  Got this shot coming out of the stamping area and returning to the house …

Spring Retreat - May 2015

None of us can believe how fast the weekend goes! Just one more gathering around the table for breakfast before everyone heads home.  Eileen and I pack up and head out too …

Spring Retreat 2015 - All done

It’s kind of sad to see the room empty and the tables cleared off, but we had a good time and there’s always the Fall Retreat to look forward to.

A big “THANK YOU” to all that attended and thanks to you who followed us on the blog and my facebook page “Linda’s Stampin’ Escape”… we hope you enjoyed it.

Have a great week ~

2015 Spring Stampin’ Retreat … Day 2

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Just a quick post to share with you a bit of our Spring Stampin’ Retreat. It’s so exciting to see everyone as they arrive. Once they come in … they are shown to their rooms. Each room has a hand stamped name tag for each guest. I will be sharing them on facebook (Linda’s Stampin’ Escape) if you’d like to see them.

We also have decorations and hand stamped photo opportunities for our guests throughout the retreat. Here is the mantle of the fire place in the dining room ….

IMG_20150417_143149

It states our theme for this retreat … Friendship Blooms.

After dinner last night, we went out to our stamping area. It is already set up with their projects for that evening. Here is what the room looked like as our guests come in …

IMG_20150417_143331

If you look closely … you will see the cute project we did Friday night. It’s is a type of journal, great for writing down card dimensions and stuff!

We will be stamping all day today, however we have breaks in between for our meals and a little extra time to explore the grounds. It’s nice to get up and stretch a bit.

At this retreat we are missing one of our regular attendee’s, for the first time since we started … so all of us wish you well and had to say … WE MISS YOU ALICE

I’ll be back tomorrow with more … although my post will be a bit later in the day. Thanks for following along.

Have a wonderful day and enjoy the sunshine!

Guest Stamper: Linda K.

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Today I’d like to share with you another card from our Spring (April) Stampin’ Retreat card swap … Our guest stamper today is Linda K.

Open Sea -2

Linda used the very versatile “The Open Sea” stamp set and showcased the stamps beautifully. I love the simple neutral color pallet … works great for guys!

Linda used the Basic Gray for her background, and Basic Black to mat each stamped image.

Just look at the detail Linda has put into her card … the paper piercing around the globe really adds a nice touch to the card.

Open Sea -1

A great birthday card, and could easily be used for Fathers Day as well. In fact, you could use it as a graduation card … reflecting on the direction (compass) of their dreams, and conquering the world.

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today. I hope you are as inspired by Linda’s card as I was.

Have a wonderful weekend ~

TODAY’S STAMPIN’ SUPPLIES …

Spring Retreat Share …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Hope you had a beautiful weekend!

Just got back yesterday from my first of 2 Spring Stampin’ Retreats. I host 2 per year … one in the spring and one in the fall. This year I opened up a second “Spring Retreat” because we had so many requests to attend!

Our Stampin’ Retreats are “All Inclusive” … Lodging, Food, and Projects are all provided for our guests. This is their time to kick-back, relax and have a good time. We also have little treats and surprises during the stay. I can show you more in 2 weeks … I don’t want to spoil anything for my next group. I can’t wait to greet them.

After our stamping session on Friday night we host a Card Swap (exchange) and Contest.  The guests vote on their favorite cards (they are all kept secret) and when the voting is done, the winner receives a $25 Shopping Spree from me!

IMG_20150418_064730

Sorry for the quality of the picture. Don’t worry, I will be sharing the the card with you so you can get a good look at them.

… AND THE WINNER IS

IMG_20150418_064809

We had a little fun on facebook, the favorite there was #9.  All the cards were great, and we had a great time.

Saturday is spent stamping … and eating! lol (we do take breaks … a little time to explore the grounds / lake if they like) Here is where we gather to stamp …

IMG_20150418_211739

This photo was taken at the end of the night, so everyone was just finishing up and getting ready to head in for dessert!  Yes, we save our desserts for after stamping because they tell me they are too full after we eat.

It’s a fun time for all … and a great way to meet new people and go home with some fabulous cards.

Let me know if you would be interested in one of our “retreats” … I’ll be happy to answer any questions you have and/or give you more information.

I’ll be back tomorrow with the new “Weekly Deals”

Have a wonderful day ~
