Have a Hoot Step-by-Step

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I’m going to share the “Have a Hoot” stamp set while showing a progression of simply stamping to the avid stamper who wants it all … These cards were created by the home offices of Stampin’ Up!

Let’s begin with our first card …

We kept things simple on the first version of this cute card. A few simple layers, a splash of color, ribbon, and a sentiment popped up using Stampin’ Dimensionals. This cheerful, little project takes just minutes to make and would be the perfect solution for a casual crafter workshop.

Step up the charming second card by running the tag through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine using the Peek-A-Hoot Dies for a stitched-edge look. Fold the gold-trimmed satin ribbon in half, insert the ends through the hole in the tag, then pull them snugly through the loop at the end of the ribbon. We added a little extra pop to this card with a layer of Poinsettia Place Designer Series Paper, some Gold Glitter Enamel Dots, and heat embossing.

Our fanciest card is a real hoot. We embossed the card front using the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine and the Evergreen Forest 3D Embossing Folder, adhered die-cut branches, and added a strip of Plush Poinsettia Specialty Paper. Perfect!

Whoo wouldn’t love to have a Christmas cardmaking party featuring these cute, outdoorsy cards? We certainly wood . . . er . . . would! Ask me about a “Facebook Virtual Party”!!

I thank you for joining me today, hope your day is good one! Enjoy the kick-off to the weekend ~

More Pines Card …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

I hope you enjoyed my introduction to the In the Pines Bundle yesterday. This is such a pretty set and can be used for any occasion, who doesn’t love a walk through the pines! Here is a pic of yesterdays cards in case you missed them …

I also shared the directions for these cards yesterday. I love the sentiments on these cards and thought you would love them too! Here is the stamp set and coordinating dies ….

Time to share the beautiful card I have for you today … I’m not really looking forward to snow right now, but I wanted to share how versatile this stamp set is …

You will stamp the trees with the solid tree stamp and cut them out with the open tree die. On Whisper White, stamp the outline tree, emboss it with white emboss powder and watercolor the images with Mint Macaron …. when dry, cut the “detailed” peek through tree die.

They used the wrapped in texture embossing folder for the snow, and heat embossed the falling snow. The Snowflake Sequins add a lovely touch to the falling snow (background is Pool Party).

The greeting is stamped on Crumb Cake and punched out with the Lovely Labels Pick a Punch. There is a piece of Shaded Spruce behind it to make it pop! Such a pretty and serene card.

Thank you so very much for taking a stroll over to my blog today. I appreciate it and wish you a wonderful day today ~

Today I’d like to start with the Forever Greenery Designer Series paper. This is the first package I opened up when I got my Annual Catalog pre-order in! The patterns are so pretty and so very versatile ….

My first card here was just a fun play on using squares of designer paper … then you use your corner rounder on two opposite sides. Here is a version that shows how much layering there is ….

You can view the entire post by CLICKING HERE … you’ll learn more about this card and it’s assembly.

Next up is another pattern from the Forever Fern Designer papers …

Click Here to view the original blog post for this card.

This is one of my favorites patterns because it is perfect for any type of card … male or female, this would also make the perfect background for a kids card using the Zoo Globe stamp set …

The Forever Fern Designer Paper was teamed up with the Field of Flowers bundle for this next card ….

Did you know that embossing your designer paper can add a wonderful texture to your card and still provide the design you’ve wanted … it’s a Win, Win! I love this simple technique. Try embossing your designer paper – here I used the Subtle embossing folder. CLICK HERE to view original post.

I have more samples that I will be sharing on Saturday … many of the designer papers! Join me for my FACEBOOK LIVE Celebration of World Card Making Day!

Just in Case …

To CASE (Copy and Share Everything) is something nearly every experienced papercrafter does on a regular basis. You see a card in our catalog, or on Pinterest, focus on something you like about it, then re-create it with your own spin. (Click on the Pinterest above to go to my page)

You can add layers or simplify the project, but the main point is to enjoy being inspired by the work of others. Our minds start working when we study and learn from a project someone else has made.

So pick up the catalog and look through the pages until you find something that really makes you want to pull out all your crafting supplies and start working. Copy the project, then use the following ideas to make it your own:

  1. Copy the Layout
  2. Copy the Color Scheme
  3. Copy the Technique

Thank you for stopping by today, I hope you found this post helpful. We all CASE … it helps inspire us, and that is my intention when I share my creations with you each day.

Enjoy the day ~

Arrange a Wreath …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Hope you enjoyed the Watercoloring with Acrylic Block technique yesterday and the cards I shared. With the technique I introduced the Arrange a Wreath bundle …

This bundle is so fun to use and so very versatile! I used the fall leaves for this card but will be sharing so many more with you.

I’ll be sharing several cards in the upcoming weeks but even better, I’ll be hosting a class! I’ll be having an announcement with all the details out by the end of the week.

We’ll be creating “All Occasion” cards in the Arrange a Wreath Class … you’ll work with the new stamps and coordinating dies. More details to come…. just a little enticing to get you ready for the weekend and the announcement!

Thanks for stopping by today ~

Poinsettia Petals

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I’ll be sharing similar products, the Poinsettia Petals and the same layout. The cards were designed by Stampin’ Up! and illustrate how easy it is to replicate … simple and fun!

To begin creating, stamp the sprig images on the card front in Cinnamon Cider ink. Stamp the flower in Real Red ink and the leaves in Shaded Spruce ink on Whisper White Cardstock. Tip: To create depth, stamp off the Two-Step Stamping flower and leaf dimensional images. Die cut the stamped images and adhere them to the card front. Stamp the sentiment in Cinnamon Cider ink on a Whisper White Cardstock label, adhere the label to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals, and you have a fabulously festive card in just minutes!

Step up the second card by adhering Designer Series Paper to the front. Brighten the poinsettia and leaves using Cinnamon Cider, Poppy Parade, Real Red, and Shaded Spruce Stampin’ Blends. We also added a sprig cut from Copper Foil Sheets using the Poinsettia Dies. Tip: Fold the ribbon in half lengthwise before cutting the notches on each end.

For our fanciest card, we adhered additional flowers and leaves, cut the label using the Tasteful Labels Dies, and added more Flowers for Every Season Designer Series Paper to the card front. We also took the artistry to an entirely new level by creating more light and dark contrast and expanding the color palette with Mint Macaron and Petal Pink Stampin’ Blends.

I thank your for stopping back today. Don’t forget to join me on Facebook tonight for my FACEBOOK LIVE: Technique Tuesday!! I know my banner says … “Right Here” but it is actually on my FACEBOOK page.

Have a great day and I look forward to seeing you later ~

Simply Sunday: More Festive Corners …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I have a cutie from the Festive Corners stamp set… another holiday card. We’re celebrating the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

I used the sentiment corner and the lights on today’s card to frame my holiday house. This image came from the Still Scenes stamp set. You can check out the last card I made with the Still Scenes HERE! It highlights the “Masking” technique.

It’s nice to go back to basics now and then…

I’ve used the Heartwarming Hugs Designer Series paper as my background, and Real Red as my base cardstock. I also used it to mat my stamped imagery….

This imagery was adhered with the Glue Dots which gives them a little lift off the cardstock. It was colored with the Stampin’ Write markers and Wink of Stella as the snow.

I finished the card off with the Whisper White crinkle ribbon.

Hope you enjoyed today’s card. I thank you for stopping by on your holiday weekend to check it out …

Enjoy the rest of your holiday weekend.

Hinge Technique with Borders Abound …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I’m going to share with you one of the cards that we did at our Stamparatus Class this week. Lord I can’t tell you how wonderful it was to see my stamping friends again! ❤ In Person!!

The “Hinge Technique” is probably the most popular technique that you can learn with your Stamparatus but there are so many other tips and techniques to learn, if perfect placement isn’t enough reason to buy one!! Like Sandy said last night …. there is nothing worse than creating a beautiful card and then stamping your sentiment crooked, even if it’s on the inside 😦

I created this design not only to show how easy it is to use the hinge technique, but how easy it was to switch out colors … even if you were making multiple cards ….

I used the filigree border from the Borders Abound stamp set and aligned it onto my cardstock and then picked up the stamp with my plate … now you’re ready to stamp!

The colors used are Poppy Parade, Calypso Coral, Mango Melody, Granny Apple Green, and Coastal Cabana …. each color was achieved by moving the plate down hinge by hinge.

Then flip your plate or use the second one and place your sentiment onto the cardstock … pick it up with your plate and begin stamping your sentiment/greeting.

I added the Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon to add some texture and fun to the card. Using the tulle allows you to see the stamped images but still gives you the texture you want on the card ….

Isn’t that cute! This is one of my favorite ribbons for this reason, and because you can dye it any color you want. It’s a must have in your stamping supplies.

Another must have is your Stamparatus …. it helps you perfectly align stamp images, stamp multiples of the same project quickly and precisely, and get complete ink coverage.

Let me know if you have any questions or if you would like some help ordering your Stamparatus! The first video will be “how to”create today’s card using the Hinge Technique! Then more videos to follow: Layering for best results, using “templates” for quick -n- easy card making and more!

Thank you so much for joining me today! Its a steamy one here, stay cool, stay safe!

Have a good day ~

Meet Playful Pets

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I thought it would be fun to share a cute new Playful Pets Suite and the Pampered Pets stamp set for my dog and cat lovers! This set is so cute …

When you look through the catalog … take a good look at the samples and items surrounding the cards. The cards shown above feature a “basic” and a “stepped up” version! We’ve just been talking about this in the past few posts.

The card on the left side is done with our Watercolor Pencils and Blender Pens, and stamped directly onto the cardstock. The card on the right is “stepped up” with several layers … the first has the die cut paw prints (love it) then some designer paper, third layer is embossed with the Brick & Mortar folder, and our little pets have been die cut directly from another pattern of the designer paper, and finally the greeting is heat embossed!

Here is the cutest idea …

How cute is this little gift?! A perfect little treat to take to a friends house … a bottle of wine for the host, and a treat for the puppy. That’s a friend!!

One more sweet card I wanted to share. Losing a family pet is devastating, and not always mourned by others … this is such a sweet way to let your friends know that you understand and are there for them during the loss of their pet.

This wonderful product suite had a little bit of everything to acknowledge and celebrate the four legged members of our families.

Thank you for hanging out with me for a bit today. Hope today’s post inspires you to celebrate your puppy or kitty with a card or share with a friend. Have a great day!

Here is a core list of the supplies …

It also paired perfectly with the greenery from the Forever Fern bundle/stamp set. Who knew? Here are the items used in today’s card …

Simply Sunday: Guest Stamper Dawn H.

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I am sharing a beautiful card sent to me by my friend and Club member Dawn H. This card is going to make you wish for warm breezes and beautiful sunsets.

Dawn told me she cased her card from Michelle Zindorf … a fellow demonstrator who specialized in this sponging style.  I’ve done styles similar to this but it inspires me to get back in my studio and create!

Dawn’s color combination is so pretty against the silhouette of the trees.  Just a had to share this beautiful card … Stop back tomorrow to see what I came up with.

Thanks for stopping by.  What inspire you to stamp??
