Hello Stampin’ Friends,
Hope you had a great weekend and got a chance to peek at my Summer Nights Paper Pumpkin card yesterday … it was posted quite a bit later than normal!! Today I have an alternative to the designs in the kit.
The Summer Nights Paper Pumpkin reminds me of time spent with my grandpa and grandma as a child, running through the tall grasses on the farm chasing Fireflies. Grandma would always give us one of her canning jars so we could catch a couple ….
I always had to let them out before we went back into the house because I didn’t want them to die, and let the lights go out. As a kid, you watch in amazement as those little lights blink on and off, and there were soooo many of them! The Fireflies lit up the night like a galaxy of stars … but close enough to touch.
To this day, I still love watching the Fireflies, those memories take me to a happy place. Isn’t that our intention when we send a card to a friend or family member? To bring joy or comfort … it’s an amazing feeling.

I didn’t change much on my card … the backgrounds are the “postcards” from the kit, I just added a Night of Navy card base to turn it into a card. I cut down my mason jar as I wanted my fireflies to be the main focus.
The fireflies, like the jar are embossed in gold and really stand out beautifully. However, I did add my own twinkle … I touched as many of the stars as I could with the Wink of Stella. After a few minutes and I knew the Wink of Stella was dry, I rubbed my finger over the stars and onto the entire card front – WOW, what a stunning shimmery background it creates!

I chose my greeting from the Peaceful Moments stamp set, the sentiment when sent to my sister reflects those memories we had as kids, and she would know that I was thinking of her.

Thank you for joining me today, I hope this cute little card brought back some happy memories for you as well. The “refill” kit for the July 2020 Paper Pumpkin is still available (Does not include the stamp set) and you have to be a Paper Pumpkin subscriber to do so.
Have a wonderful day ~

beautiful cards! It is funny because my first reaction is “I wouldn’t have the patience to do that” yet I make miniature houses and things and have plenty of patience for that. Do you sell your cards locally and online?
I have not “sold” my cards per say … I have given them away as Door Prizes at my stamping events. My main goal is to teach and share the art of card making and scrapbook … please let me know if that is something that interests you. The Paper Pumpkin kits are perfect for someone just starting out, as they have everything you need to make the projects! Let me know if I can help you. Thank you so much for reaching out today. Linda
Linda, I love your work but I tried to get into scrapbooking years ago and it doesn’t interest me like miniature models do. Thank you for offering. I also make jewelry and one thing like when I was scrapbooking, there is only so much you can make for yourself and if you can’t sell it…Since losing my husband two years ago I no longer have the financial flexibility which really sucks.
Sorry for the loss of your husband. I understand … this Covid situation has really hurt my business. I am more of a “face to face” demonstrator but am working on building a larger online presence and bringing my business back to where it was. I am grateful for my blog readers, it keeps me in touch with fellow stampers and crafters. 🙂
