Sparkly Luminaries: Glitter Window Technique

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I’d like to share a cute project that is perfect for celebrating on Summer Nights. I’ve got something to brighten your night and add a little sparkle … just in case the star’s aren’t out!

I’m making Sparkling Luminaries …. perfect to decorate your tables or even to line the driveway. These little cuties were fun to make … If you do not have the Paper Pumpkin kit, you can use lunch bags or small white bags from the $ Store and use a punch or die to create a design.

Step 1: I started with the pre-die cut luminaries that are included in the July 2020 Paper Pumpkin kit.

Step 2: is to add “Clear Packing Tape” to the inside of the bag with the “sticky” side facing … out! I used a pencil with a touch of adhesive to hold the tape steady while it “eased” it into the bag.

Step 3: Spread Dazzling Diamonds Glitter over the sticky side of the tape and rub it in good … tap off excess glitter.

Step 4: Using the Stampin’ Blends Markers … Color the tape from the inside of the card, this will dry and not rub off.

Now it’s time to add your candles and light ’em up! Here is a close up so you see the pretty sparking of the Dazzling Diamonds …

Aren’t those just the cutest luminaries? You could keep them simple or jazz them up even more by stamping the “burst” image you’ve seen the past two days or add some of the Glitter Stars included in the kit or even some Rhinestones …

HOW WOULD YOU PREFER YOURS? As Is … or …. Jazzed up.

Thanks so much for joining me today. I’ll see you tomorrow with a Sneak Peek into the new Mini Catalog.

Have a dazzling day!

Summer Nights Add-On

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I’m sharing a card that I created using the Summer Nights Add-On kit that coordinates with the July 2020 Paper Pumpkin.

Yesterday I shared my “Fireworks” card using the Joseph’s Coat technique (click here to view post) I used the “burst” image to create the fireworks, and I will be using them again for today’s card.

I chose the background with the Blackberry Bliss … there are three different color patterns and 8 of each pattern, plus it includes coordinating envelopes.

I heat embossed the “burst” image in White and then embossed the stick or line image in silver creating a “Sparkler”!! You all know what I’m doing next don’t you … You guessed it, brushed on the Wink of Stella to add the shimmer.

The greeting comes from the July 2020 Paper Pumpkin kit and teamed up with the Summer Nights Add-On, it this will be the first of many to adorn more fun creations.

Thank you for stopping by today, I appreciate it.

Have yourself a great day.

Technique Tuesday: Joseph’s Coat

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I’m not only sharing another alternative to the July 2020 Paper Pumpkin, but an awesome technique … Joseph’s Coat. This technique is a real WOW!

It may look like I started with Basic Black cardstock but it’s actually Whisper White! I’m using the “burst” stamp from the exclusive stamp set included in the kit.

To begin … I used the Sponge Daubers to lay down a circle of color; Real Red and Pacific Point. The ink must be dry before you proceed to the next step, you can let it sit a while or heat set the color with your heat gun.

Once dry, ink up your stamp with VersaMark and stamp the “burst” image over the top of your red, re-ink and stamp over the blue, re-ink one more time and stamp directly onto the cardstock … this will give you your white fireworks! Apply “CLEAR” Embossing Powder and set with heat gun.

Once your burst images are embossed it’s time for the “coat” … a coat of black ink is applied to make your stamped images pop. You can use your brayer however, I just apply my ink “direct to paper”… drag the ink pad across your cardfront, it’s quick and I can get a nice even coverage.

Once you are happy with the amount of black ink applied, use a tissue to wipe the ink off of your embossed images … they will brighten up beautifully. You could leave it like this, but I really wanted to jazz it up so I grabbed my “Wink of Stella”!!

The Wink of Stella just adds the perfect sparkle for my fireworks! I began just over the top of the lines, then I found when I went between the lines, it darkened the black and added an amazing contrast. But I’m not done with Stella yet … I “tapped” extra “stella” onto the cardfront by tapping the brush onto a marker which forces the ink out which spatters onto your cardfront.

I then colored my Rhinestones to match my fireworks for a little extra texture and sparkle. I also added it to my greeting tag as an anchor and to add a bit more color to the tag. It’s really quite simple and a lot of fun to make.

So … what do you think of my “Fireworks Party”? Is this a technique you would like to try? I’d love to hear your thoughts.

Thank you so much for the visit and hanging out while I shared how to make this fun card using a great technique. I’ll meet you back here tomorrow with a card using the “Add-On” that is available for your July 2020 Paper Pumpkin.

Enjoy your day!

Here is a list of the products used on these cards … Find out more information about these products by clicking on the image … or you can begin your shopping from here as well. Thank you!

Summer Nights Alternative

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Hope you had a great weekend and got a chance to peek at my Summer Nights Paper Pumpkin card yesterday … it was posted quite a bit later than normal!! Today I have an alternative to the designs in the kit.

The Summer Nights Paper Pumpkin reminds me of time spent with my grandpa and grandma as a child, running through the tall grasses on the farm chasing Fireflies. Grandma would always give us one of her canning jars so we could catch a couple ….

I always had to let them out before we went back into the house because I didn’t want them to die, and let the lights go out. As a kid, you watch in amazement as those little lights blink on and off, and there were soooo many of them! The Fireflies lit up the night like a galaxy of stars … but close enough to touch.

To this day, I still love watching the Fireflies, those memories take me to a happy place. Isn’t that our intention when we send a card to a friend or family member? To bring joy or comfort … it’s an amazing feeling.

I didn’t change much on my card … the backgrounds are the “postcards” from the kit, I just added a Night of Navy card base to turn it into a card. I cut down my mason jar as I wanted my fireflies to be the main focus.

The fireflies, like the jar are embossed in gold and really stand out beautifully. However, I did add my own twinkle … I touched as many of the stars as I could with the Wink of Stella. After a few minutes and I knew the Wink of Stella was dry, I rubbed my finger over the stars and onto the entire card front – WOW, what a stunning shimmery background it creates!

I chose my greeting from the Peaceful Moments stamp set, the sentiment when sent to my sister reflects those memories we had as kids, and she would know that I was thinking of her.

Thank you for joining me today, I hope this cute little card brought back some happy memories for you as well. The “refill” kit for the July 2020 Paper Pumpkin is still available (Does not include the stamp set) and you have to be a Paper Pumpkin subscriber to do so.

Have a wonderful day ~

I’m also in love with those gold glitter stars! The Farris Wheel scene comes as shown directly from the kit. So cute.
