Hello Stampin’ Friends ~
I have four quick & easy cards from the New Horizons Designer paper to share with you today which includes a replay of last nights Facebook LIVE and a fifth card that last nights viewers did not get to see … Let’s start the fun off with the video
Each card has a Basic White base (8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″) and a Basic Black mat cut to 3-1/8″ x 3-1/8″. The New Horizons Designer paper 6″ x 6″ sheet is cut into equal pieces of 3″ x 3″.
My first card highlights the designer paper and one of the 5 greetings included in the stamp set…
The second card I made uses the same layout as the first and uses another greeting. I also want to mention that I “stamped on” the designer paper. A simple technique but one we forget. Adding something as simple as the birds to the paper, really adds to the card.
The third card adds a layer of cardstock and some texture. Using a card front cut to 4″ x 5-1/4″, I added some texture by “scoring” the lower portion … I scored at 1-1/4″ then turned the cardstock 180 degrees, then score at 1/2″, the move the piece back 1/8″ and score again. You will end up with 3 score lines (I turn my cardstock over so the score is raised).
I then stamped my greeting between the lines. Here is a view of all the dimension and texture we added to this card …
On the last of the four cards, I went wild with the texture! I used the Hammered Metal Embossing Folder, but if you look close … it could pass for pebbles, and I thought it would look great with this section of our designer paper.
And speaking of “pebbles” … I added the Pebbles Embellishments from the New Horizons Suite! Check out this texture … Aren’t those pebbles just perfect!?
OK … now I have one more card for you. During the video, Jenny commented that the back side of one of the squares looked “stormy”, so my next card highlights that piece of designer paper. Look close … I think there is a tornado dropping down (yikes!)
While the birds get the heck out of the storm … I thought that I would use the grasses dies from the suite as a silhouette. I let it hang off the side a bit to add some character … then I created the rain! I took my Wink of Stella and tapped it against a pen so it sprinkled over the designer paper.
Those white speckles are the Wink of Stella and I wish that you could see the sparkle … it’s amazing! And so is all of the different ways you can use this paper, the New Horizons product suite. Let me just say … “We’ve Only Just Begun”
Don’t forget … Sale-a-bration has begun and you will receive a FREE Sale-a-bration item with a qualifying purchase.
Thank you for hanging out with me today, and I hope you are just as excited as I am for this new suite, and that I’ve inspired you to get back in your stamp room!
Have a wonderful day ~

Love this set of four cards Linda!
