Cute Halloween Projects …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Today I’d like to share with you some fun Halloween projects that I have done in the past and a cute new project Stampin’ Up! has in our Holiday catalog.

With Halloween fast approaching, I thought today’s post would be fun.  Halloween is the second most celebrated holiday … well at least in the “decorations”!  I think it’s because we all get to be kids again … it’s so much fun and you don’t have the stresses the seem to come along with Christmas.

So, my first little project is “Frankenstein” … we made him at a downline retreat.  “Downline” are the people who have joined Stampin’ Up! under me.  I used several punched scalloped circles and layered them together to create the spider.  If you would like to know more… post your comment and I’ll share the tutorial.

Not much stampin’ on this one, but he is so cute and the kids used him for their “trick or treat” bucket!  You can also create mummmies, and pumpkins in the same fashion.

My next project share is this cute little gum packet … what a fun surprise for when you give this to your co-workers, friends or your favorite teacher.  It’s easy!  Just wrap your gum packet with the desired color cardstock and secure in the back.  To create the front stamped panel: cut your cardstock slightly smaller than the front of the package.  A little measuring is required, but still so easy to do.  Then just stamp any images you want to create a fun gift.

This cute card was made by my sister and downline member Eileen.  We did a Halloween swap for one of our meetings… it was a hit!  She began by creating a template for the coffin, put the top edge to the “fold” on your cardstock and cut, this will give you a coffin that opens.  The face was created with circle punches.  To create the hair simply use the scallop punch to punch out the hair line on a black circle.  The mouth is done with punching a partial piece out of the initial circle and then cutting it in two pieces … spacing the mouth gives you the appearance of teeth!  Cool … right!Eileen

And for my final project share …. this beautiful Halloween banner!  Stampin’ Up! has put together a kit … yes, a kit, so you can create this hand made project in no time at all.  You will need the “Build a Banner Kit” (133507) which also works with the Christmas banner, and the “Halloween Banner Accessory Kit (132698).  How cool is that!

Awesome new dies coming …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

I am excited to show you a new product that is coming August 1st … Oh my gosh, I can’t wait!!  Not to worry – I will be hosting upcoming events where you will get to see these for yourself.

LPHeader_thinlits_Demo_7.19.13

They’ve been called flip cards, flip flop cards, swing cards, and more-but they have always been a bit tricky to create. Not anymore! Our amazing new Thinlits Card Dies cut and score to create a card that flips in just one step.

Item Description Price
133479 Label Card Thinlits Die $32.95
133480 Circle Card Thinlits Die $32.95

These new card dies come with extra die pieces that have versatile designs, so you can use them on other projects, not just flip cards. (The Circle Card Thinlits Die comes with 10 total pieces; the Label Card Thinlits Die comes with nine total pieces.)

With the number of dies you’re getting, plus the die that creates the card itself, the price is a great value-especially to create an interactive card!

Can’t wait to use them … They’ll make great announcements, invitations, or Christmas cards.

  • The main shape in the cards (circle and label) can work with a lot of our stamp images so you can create tons of different kinds of cards using many different stamp sets. Here are just a few suggestions to get you started:

Label Card Thinlits Die (item 133479):

  • Happy Day Stamp Set (item 130294 W item 130297 C)

Circle Card Thinlits Die (item 133480):

  • Worth the Wait Stamp (item 131094 W)

  • Five-Way Flower Stamp (item 131088 W)

Both card dies pair well with:

  • Oh, Hello Stamp Set (item 131931 W item 130733 C)

  • Yippee-Skippee! Stamp Set (item 131341 W item 131344 C)

  • Really Good Greetings Stamp Set (item 130330 W item 130333 C)

  • Regarding Dahlias Stamp Set (item 130324 W item 130327 C)

  • These dies also work well with our new magnetic platform (item 130658) so you can place the dies exactly where you want them!

In Salt Lake City …

Hi Stampers,

Sorry I missed posting yesterday, but we flew out at 6 am which means we left home at 3 am and were at the airport by 4am.  We arrived in Salt Lake City around 9:30 or so but didn’t get any pictures.  I must say, yesterday was a bit of a blur (no sleep).

I am having technical difficulties posting ….  I can’t seem to download the program needed to do my pictures and the internet at the hotel keeps blowing me off the internet!  GRRRRR!  I know I’m suppose to be on vacation, but I wanted to take you along on this wonderful experience.

I will wait until Brenda is back from her excursion and see if she can help me … she is good at those things!

Meanwhile, I wanted to share a swap card that I got at a previous Convention ….

HOSTESS - APPLE BLOSSOMS 1

So … can anyone tell me what stamp set this flower comes from??  Can you guess the color combination?

Put your answers in the comment box, let’s see who’s right!

Thanks for stopping by ….

See you tomorrow!

Gettin’ ready for Convention 2013!

Hi Stampers!

Another week has flown by and I just don’t know where this time is going.  It’s been two weeks since Frabill has shut down and I don’t think I’ve got anything done!

Oh well… no need to dwell on that, I have packing to do.  I will be spending this weekend preparing for my trip to Salt Lake City for the 2013 Stampin’ Up! national Convention.  It’s always a good time.  I’m going out with 5 of my “Star’s” – downline members and I always run into fellow demonstrators from other states that I have become friends with over the past 13 years.

I’d like to share a little of this experience with you today.  Since we fly in before convention begins, we do a lot of sight-seeing.  This is some of the whimsical art SLC (Salt Lake City) has along our walk to the convention center.

Stampin’ Up! always offers tours to the home office, I’ve been there several times but enjoying going there.  It’s just a short trip to Riverton.  This is the view you see when you walk in the front doors … amazing!  The employees can also eat their lunch …. by the waterfall.

100_3653

Each year, Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from across the US and Canada gather for three days of education, celebration, and motivation. Convention always includes time to swap cards, attend business classes and new-product demonstrations, participate in Make & Takes, and enjoy time with the best stampers in the world!

If you need samples … not a problem at Convention!

NEED SAMPLES 2- CONVENTION 2010

Ok… If you are wondering why I have a painted flower on my face and the plastic “peace sign” necklace – we were attending the Opening “Social”.  Each year they have a “theme”… guess what this one was!

Here I am with my downline member and friend Connie, Shelli Gardner (CEO and Co-founder of Stampin’ Up!) in the hat and her husband Sterling.  Aren’t we “groovy”!  Peace!

100_4071

I’m looking forward to this years convention … It’s their 25 year anniversary, so it’s going to be FUN!

convention_USCA_-LP_b1_2011

We’re leaving on Tuesday which gives us 2 days to sight-see and explore.  I may need that first day to sleep… I never seem to be able to sleep before I go on vacation! LOL

I’ll keep you posted on all the updates and excitement!
