Watercolor Thank You …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Today I want to share with you some more patterns from the Watercolor Wonder Designer Series paper.  Yesterday I showed you my least favorite … today I will show you two of my favorites!

I must say, I am really beginning to fall in love with this new designer paper, and I can’t wait to host an event and let you get your hands on it.  In fact, watch for an e-mail announcing my “Sale-a-bration Stampede”… I am working on the details now, and will be sending out details in about a week.

On to today’s card share, I have used 3 more patterns from the Watercolor Wonder Designer Paper …

Can you tell which are my favorites?  You’re right, it is the flowered patterns.  They were both so beautiful, I wanted to share them both.  I tied the colors together by using the yellow & gray stripped pattern … the Smokey Slate (gray) is found in the blue pattern, and the yellow from the striped coordinates with the yellow & tangerine, it then tied them together perfectly.

I began with the usual 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ cardstock in Whisper White, and folded it in half for the base of my card.  The mat for the card is Smokey Slate and is cut to 5-1/4″ x 4″.  The flower pieces were cut at 3-1/4″ x 1-7/8″ and the stripped pattern was 1-1/4″ x 1-7/8″.  These will now piece together nicely on the mat… much easier to do than a puzzle.

My greeting comes from the stamp set “Lots of Thanks” found on page 29 of the Idea Book & Catalog (our main catalog).  I then cut the greeting and the Smokey Slate mat from the “Ovals Collection Framelits“.  There are 7 layer dies with this set, so they can highlight any greeting!

I always stamp my image / greeting first, and then cut it out … that way I don’t have to worry about it being crooked, because I can always place the die where I need to.

I wanted to add a special little touch to the card, so I cut out one of the flowers from the designer paper and popped it up over the greeting.  To finish, I added a couple of “Pearls” from the jewels on page 171.  You can also click on any of the links (highlighted in pink) to view the product details.

So here you have it, some of my favorite patterns from the “Watercolor Wonder” designer series paper.

Wheely Sweet Friend …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Happy Tuesday to you!  Today is day 2 of my “I Am Me” designer series paper share and I have teamed it up with the “wheely” fun stamp set … Cycle Celebration!

I also have a great stamping tip for you today … so sit back and enjoy the ride 🙂

The designer paper is so fun and colorful and I wanted to highlight it,  so I chose “So Saffron” as my cardstock.   I added a touch of texture with the “Needlepoint Border Expressions Folder” and ran it down the edge of the card.

I’m excited to show you how I got the curved edge on my “tag” …

Once you have chosen the size cardstock you will be using for your tag, you can find a coordinating size “Oval Framelit” to cut the top!

Place the top of the cardstock “under” the framelit on top to cut … then be sure to layer the bottom end of the cardstock “OVER” the framelit so it does not cut.

** I only rolled my framelit slightly past the cutting edge so that I did not damage the rest of the cardstock.

How cool is that!!  Just think of the cool edges you can make now … and you have another use for your framelits 🙂

The greetings were colored in with my markers, something fun you can do with any stamp to make it multi-colored.

I just have to point out that yummy little “Candy Dot” that anchors my tag.  Today I used it with the “Base Brads” … wow, that really makes the candy dots stand out.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
