Christmas Season in Red

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Still looking for Christmas Card ideas? Today I’m seeing red … Christmas Red. I have teamed up the Dashing Deer and Winter Woods bundles to create a monochromatic card that is simple and beautiful.

This was one of the cards we did in our Stamp Club this month…

Our base is Whisper White (8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″) and our stamped piece is 5″ x 3-3/4″ … We used Real Red to stamp the Filigreed Deer from the Dashing Deer Stamp Set.  You will need to let that dry or heat set it because our next step was to emboss it with the Gently Falling Impressions Folder.  We used a piece of Real Red 5-1/4″ x 4″ to mat our stamped piece.

Our next step was to cut out the Christmas Tree from the Winter Woods bundle.  This tree can be used as 2 pieces for a beautiful layered effect, plus you can “fluff” up your branches for even more texture.  Our next step was to decorate our tree which we did with the Red Rhinestones Basic Jewels.

The inside has our greeting which came from the Winter Woods stamp set.  The pretty design stamped on the inside and on the envelope came from the Dashing Deer stamp set.  These two bundles really pair up wonderfully.

Hope you enjoyed today’s card share of the Winter Woods and Dashing Deer Bundles. I appreciate the visit!!

Have a wonderful Friday ~

A Walk through the Winter Woods …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Sometimes we look for holiday cards that are a little on the simple side, earthy, more masculine … well, today is the day for you. I have a wonderful card to share with you that I created using the Winter Woods stamp set.

I started this card using Very Vanilla cardstock … base is 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ with a 4″ x 5-1/4″ background that I embossed with the Woodland Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. It adds such a nice texture to the card.

I stamped the birch in Soft Suede on a piece of 2-3/4″ by 3-3/4″ Very Vanilla and then I tied a bow around it … to keep the natural look of the card I used the Burlap Ribbon and pulled it apart!! Love the way it adds so much texture to your card.

I chose to mat the tree with the beautiful Joyous Noel Glimmer paper (Merry Merlot) and measures 3″ x 4″, just to add a little holiday color -n- sparkle.

The greeting comes from the Winter Woods stamp set so no need to look any further, and is stamped in Merry Merlot to coordinate with the glimmer paper. To finish it off, I cut it out using the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies.

A nice simple layout with touches of texture and dimension to bring our nature scene alive… and a touch of holiday bling!!

Thank you for taking a stroll in the woods with me today, hope you enjoyed the view!  I’ll be back tomorrow with my Simply Sunday series.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Christmas Wishes my Deer …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Are you someone who loves the look of nature yet wants to bling it up for the holidays?  I have something that may just interest you.  Today I have a card to share that I created with two awesome bundles …. Dashing Deer and Winter Woods.

This card gives you layers of dimension which starts with the color on color stamped in the background … My color choice is Shaded Spruce (with Shaded Spruce ink) which really gives you depth and is matted with Silver Foil.

Bringing you closer to the deer is the addition of the Vellum Cardstock trees … it added a nice touch of a wintery color and is then framed in Whisper White.

Before attaching my deer we needed to stamp our greeting … We used the “Happiest Christmas Wishes” from the Dashing Deer stamp set and omitted the “Happiest” to give you Christmas Wishes in Shaded Spruce.

The deer was cut from this Silver Foil and mounted with dimensionals in the center and I glued the ends onto my frame. The silver turns this natural card into a stunning holiday card … see how easy it would be to turn it down a bit with natural colors and add a Birthday Wish instead?!

This card may be layered but it was really easy to create … now you have the pattern so you can make some for yourself too.

Thank you so much for sharing part of your day with me.  Have a wonderful Saturday!

I’ll see you tomorrow with my Simply Sunday share.

Simply Sunday: Masculine Birthday Card

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

I hope you are having a nice, relaxing weekend.  Yesterday I shared a beautiful card created by one of my team members, Kathy.  She used the Winter Woods stamp set.  I loved the simplicity of her card so much, I used her idea to create todays Masculine Birthday Card.

The tree was inked up with Old Olive and stamped 3 times … almost looks like a blizzard!!  This technique gives the card dimension just by stamping.  I also added the texture of the Softly Falling Embossing Folder as Kathy did yesterday.

I added the plaid pattern from the Festive Farmhouse Designer paper to give it a more masculine feel, reminds me of a flannel shirt that my grandpa used to have.  That gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling.

On that note I’ll let you get back to your Sunday and I thank you for hanging with me for a while today.

Enjoy your day, I’ll be back tomorrow with another card share.

Winter Woods & Guest Stamper: Kathy C.

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Last night my Star’s by Design team met for stampin’ up dates, a light dinner and some stampin’ & swappin’.  So today I’m going to share one of the “Swap Cards” … it was made by Kathy using the beautiful Winter Woods stamp set.

The Winter Woods bundle is so much more than a holiday stamp set, these versatile trees can be used for any occasion! Kathy gave her card some dimension simply by stamping her tree twice without re-inking the stamp, giving you the lighter trees in the back that look further away!!

Don’t you love the way Kathy stamped her trees at a slight angle … gives the appearance that the trees are sitting upon a winter wonderland of snow … then, she added a some great texture by embossing with the Softly Falling embossing folder … it all looks so serene and peaceful. A simple greeting with a pop of color to attract they eye and her card is done!  Stunning!!

Such a beautiful card and so easy to make!  Follow me for the next few days as I share a few different seasons / holidays using the Winter Woods bundle.

Until then, I thank you for popping in today to check out my blog post and Kathy’s beautiful card.

Have yourself a wonderful day ~

Winter Woods Bundle

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I have a card to share with you that was created using the Winter Woods bundle in the Holiday Catalog.  This will also give you a bit of a sneak peek into my Holiday Catalog Launch Party as this is just one of the bundles that will be featured and highlighted at my party.  There is still time to RSVP … but only until Friday!

Today’s card is one of the cards that was featured on the Stampin’ Up! Alaskan Cruise … they get their hands on the Holiday catalog first and have a special room set up for all the achievers to come in and view the product and samples from the catalog!!  You know I’m working on achieving the next Incentive trip (Greek Isles Cruise)!!

This simple card is perfect for the new stamper, someone who has a lot of cards to make … or someone who needs to make cards in a hurry! lol

The cardstock is stamped to create a beautiful background and then a piece of vellum is used to highlight the greeting (which is included in the stamp set) and is punched out using the Everyday Label punch. Behind our greeting are a few embellishment that adorns the card.

The die cut embellishments really give your card some beautiful texture, as does the twine which wraps around the card and really helps draw your eye to the focal point … which is your greeting. I really like the simplicity of this card because sometimes less is more.

Thank you for joining me today, I hope you have enjoyed todays card.

Have a great day ~
