Kindness Matters

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

I hope you had the chance to check out my post from yesterday where I introduced the Notes of Kindness Card Kit and shared an alternative project to those shown in the kit.  Today I have 2 more alternative projects to share with you.  Here are the four original designs …

Today I am going to feature the card with the leaf background … it’s in the upper right-hand corner above and my alternative is below ~

I used the same flower that was used in the kit layout but instead of adding the big die cut “Thank You” … I added a few of the die cut strips to add some color and then I stamped my greeting directly on the pink one.  This is truly a quick and simple card to make.  I did add the pretty “Share What You Love” Artesian Pearls.

My next card is the last of the four backgrounds … the color wash (I love it)!!

Who said you cannot say Thank You in any language … and why not French, it’s so pretty.  On this card I decided to use the die cut “Merci” as my greeting … it actually highlights the floral arrangement.

I began my arrangement by looping the pretty cord behind my flower.  The cord is secured with dimensionals and then attached to the pink and white die cut strip.  Although this strip has adhesive on the back … I wanted it raised, so I added 1/2 of the leaves sheet and then popped it up with Dimensionals.

I finished off the card with a few pearls … quite easy to make and oh so pretty.

Thanks for joining me this Monday! I hope it is a good day for you.

TODAY’S STAMPIN’ SUPPLY LIST …

Sending a Blizzard …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas ❤ Today I’d like to share with you come projects made with the Beautiful Blizzard Bundle.  I have shared cards with this bundle before but it fells fitting as the snow gently falls.

I love to share the versatility of a stamp set and/or bundle and this is no exception. Today’s card is more masculine than the past projects I’ve shared.  The Buffalo Check background stamp in Night of Navy and the touch of Real Red give me that “lumberjack” feeling!! lol  Maybe that is a bit strong but you get the idea.

I have the Buffalo Check background stamp and I will tell you that it works best using the Stamparatus.  This is what is going to give you the deep colors … You’ll stamp repeatedly until you get the desired richness.  And no worries about shadowing because the Stamparatus ensures it’s perfectly placed.

The Night of Navy greeting stamped onto the Crumb Cake plays well with the masculine theme and it really makes the Whisper White snowflakes pop!!  A little touch of Bakers twine really tie the whole card together.  Here is a picture of the past projects I’ve post (from the Holiday Catalog).

It’s kind of fun to see the contrast between they different styles creating with this one bundle.  And don’t forget that you can “emboss” with the Blizzard Thinlits Die and the Big Shot Embossing Die.

I hope you enjoyed todays card and I thank you for joining me today.

Have a great day and a fabulous weekend ~

Simply Sunday: Masculine Birthday Card

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

I hope you are having a nice, relaxing weekend.  Yesterday I shared a beautiful card created by one of my team members, Kathy.  She used the Winter Woods stamp set.  I loved the simplicity of her card so much, I used her idea to create todays Masculine Birthday Card.

The tree was inked up with Old Olive and stamped 3 times … almost looks like a blizzard!!  This technique gives the card dimension just by stamping.  I also added the texture of the Softly Falling Embossing Folder as Kathy did yesterday.

I added the plaid pattern from the Festive Farmhouse Designer paper to give it a more masculine feel, reminds me of a flannel shirt that my grandpa used to have.  That gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling.

On that note I’ll let you get back to your Sunday and I thank you for hanging with me for a while today.

Enjoy your day, I’ll be back tomorrow with another card share.

If a Hug was a Snowflake …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Well, well, well …. we went for 84 degrees two days ago to 44!! Gotta love Wisconsin ❤ Thankfully we are not getting snow, however I am in love with the Beautiful Blizzard Bundle.  Last week I share a few projects with you using this bundle, and today I have yet another card.

Create your own Blizzard …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I have an awesome bundle I want to share, the BEAUTIFUL BLIZZARD STAMP SET. The Beautiful Blizzard stamp set includes images, sentiments, and is perfect for creating that winter snow storm. The Blizzard Thinlets die is a great way to give your project snowflake embellishments.

I find this stamp set mesmerizing with it’s fairy tale font for your very own happily ever after cards. This is not just a Christmas card stamp set, think of the beautiful birthday cards you can make.  My daughters birthday is just two days before Christmas and this card would be perfect …

Watercoloring is the “HOT” look for cards right now and if you are not real comfortable with doing it yourself, this stamp set does the work for you with its watercolor splashes stamps. Then you have the swirls (I love swirls … so you?) They add such a fun whimsical look as in our Balmy Blue card on top.

Look closely at the gold and white gift back … Can you see the embossed pattern on the Pool Party? That is created with the die and our Big Shot Embossing Mats!!  Below I have the stamp set and die for you to see …

So now you know that you can create a beautiful textured cardstock with the Beautiful Blizzard  die and our Big Shot Embossing Mats, now lets see what we can do with all those amazing snowflakes when we cut them out …

How fun is it to make any color snowflakes you want!!  Now that would make a perfect birthday card with any of the fabulous greetings in this stamp set paired with a Birthday one in your collection.

Our gift box is so pretty and it is so easy to recreate … the pretty snowflakes from the stamp set are actually stamped on a pattern of designer paper found in the Twinkle Twinkle Designer paper (not just for baby cards either).

I love, love, love this bundle and will be hosting a class with it in the near future so make sure you are on my mailing list for an invite 🙂  Till then … here are some more ideas!

So … what do you think?  Are you ready for a “hand on” class so you can try some of these techniques yourself? I’ll be posting the date shortly so make sure you on are my mailing list.

Thank you for spending a part of your day with me …

I hope your have a “beautiful” day.

Here are the core supplies used in todays projects …

Technique Tuesday: Brusho Crystal Colour

 Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I’d like to share a technique that I had posted earlier this year and I card that I did with my Stamp Clubs. They were the first to use the Brusho Crystal Colour technique … an awesome product that was introduced in the Occasions catalog and can now be found in the Annual Catalog on page 202.

On this card we used the Shimmery White Cardstock and the “Beautiful Day” stamp set.  We will be embossing the flower with the black embossing powder.

Next thing you want to do is to poke a hole or two in the top of the plastic bottle the Brusho is in. I used my Paper Piercer to poke the hole and then use a push pin to keep it sealed ….

I like to use a little washi tape to hold my sides down … it keep the colors from running together if the paper “rolls up” from the water.  Then you will gently tap the Brusho bottom to dispense the powder … Less is More!  You can always add more but it’s best to start light, especially if you are new to this technique. It looks a little like peppering your food! lol

I started with “Yellow” in the center, “Gamboge” around the center, and then the “Brilliant Red” around the outer petals.

Now with your Stampin’ Spritzer … spritz some water onto the image. I stand during this process and I’m at least 8 – 12″ above my cardstock – You don’t have to measure, but if you are too close it might splatter your color.

Notice I kept the Brusho colors I used away from the leaf — also less spritzing, I can always add water with the use of my Aqua Painter… which I will be using to color in the leaf.

With the use of my Aqua Painter, I began to move my color around starting with the yellow.  I keep a tissue or paper towel handy to keep my Aqua Painter clean.  If you mix your colors too much – you’ll end up with one color or a mess!

Once the color was where I wanted it, I tapped a bit of the Green Brusho onto a block and used my Aqua Painter to pick up the crystals and color in the leaf directly.  That is two techniques you’ve now learned with the Brusho!!  Once DRY you can cut it out and mount it to your card ….

I used a Whisper White base with a Basic Black mat and my background was embossed with the beautiful “Layered Leaves” Dynamic Textured Embossing Folder. The greeting comes from the stamp set “Beautiful Day” which is found on page 134 of the Annual catalog.

It really is simple to use … Remember, I did this at my Stampin’ Club and each and everyone’s card turned out beautiful yet no two were alike … it was awesome!!

Please let me know if you have any questions about this technique or please leave a comment on what you would like me to share on an upcoming Technique Tuesday.

Thank you for joining me today ~

Sitting Pretty …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

It’s finally Friday!  It’s been a loooong week, not a bad one, just long. So it’s time to relax … Today I have a great video to watch, so grab a cup of coffee or your orange juice and kick back for a few minutes and check out the Sitting Pretty bundle.

Make the most adorable park bench with the Sitting Pretty Stamp Set by Stampin’ Up! Brandi Barnard shows other ways of using the Thinlits, Framelits, and stamps.

Brandi shared some great tips with us … I totally agree that placing your dies on the sides verses the center of your BigShot can really make a difference in the cut.

You can play around with the doggie, the squirrel, the flower pot, and the bench, and tell someone what they mean to you… And create die-cut benches with light embossing texture and flower pots in record time with Framelits dies and the Big Shot.

Here is what you get in the bundle …

Note that the stone paver piece is an emboss-only piece (no cutting), and creates a cool light emboss effect.  Here’s another look at the cute projects that Brandi created for us …

Hope you enjoyed our video and card share today… this is the perfect set for my pet lovin’ friends and the benches really do hold a place in your heart.

Have a wonderful day … and a great weekend!

Simply Sunday: Holiday Treat Bags

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

I hope you are having a wonderful weekend.  We are have having great “fall appropriate” weather … a bit crisp in the morning and evenings and warm (NOT HOT) sunny afternoons! I love it!!

Yesterday I shared with you a Step-by-Step tutorial on how to make two cute treat / gift bags from one 12 x 12 sheet of designer paper.  Today I have two more of those cute bags to share with you.  Once I started making them, I just kept going … they are really fast and easy to make, then embellish as desired.

I’ll start out with my Halloween since that is where I left off yesterday …

This cute little bag was also made with the goodies from the Toil and Trouble product suite on pages 48 and 49 in the Occasions catalog.  I also used the Stitched Shapes and Layering Oval Framelit Dies.

My little ghost that comes from the coordinating stamp set was colored with the Gorgeous Grape and then highlighted with “Wink of Stella”.  I used the beautiful Black Glittered Organdy ribbon to finish off my edge (I don’t like to leave a raw edge fully exposed).

On my Christmas treat / gift bag I did not finish off the raw edge per say, but I placed my greeting over part of it.  That is my personal preference and that’s what’s nice about creating your own cards and projects … we can make them the way we want!

The pretty paper I used here comes from our Annual Catalog on page 95 … Under the Mistletoe. The greeting and the cute little holly embellishment I stamped (and cut out) comes from the Peaceful Poinsettia bundle. Again, I cut out the greeting using the Stitched Shapes Framelit dies … boy I sure do use them a lot!! lol

I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing a few more of these cute bags, and I really hope you give it a try.  Here is the link: CLICK HERE to view the step by step instructions again.

I have listed the products below that I have used on both of my projects. You can click on any of the items to view more information about it, or to begin shopping on my online store. I appreciate your support … remember, all orders over $50 (before s/h) qualifies you for my rewards points.

Thanks much for visiting me today.

Enjoy this beautiful day ~

Last Chance plus FREE Rhinestones!

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I’m going to share one more card from the Color Your Season Bundle: The Blended Seasons Stamp set and the Stitched Seasons Dies and then we’ll take a look at all of the different and beautiful cards you can make with this one bundle … and this bundle goes away today.  True, today is the last day to order this amazing stamp set and die.

We made this card at my Holiday Catalog Launch Party …

I used the middle size die and stamped the Holly swag onto it.  The holly was colored with the Watercolor Pencil Assortment 2 which are available with the Blended Season stamp set and dies. The designer paper is the Under the Mistletoe and is the driver of my color pallet.

I stamped my greeting in Real Red ink onto the Vellum Cardstock and then I heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. It is much prettier on the card than what shoes up on the photo. Oh yes … and the little berries on the holly are the pretty Red Rhinestones. YOU CAN GET THEM FREE (Keep reading)

Here is another card with this bundle in which I you could use the Red Rhinestones  …

One more Christmas card to share with you.  Kind of fun to see them all together!

What comes after Christmas … but spring! This is one of Stampin’ Up!s card creations, I just love how they created a wreath using the leaves …

I also have a card that can be used anytime during the year … Spring, Summer, you name it~

How about one more before the color weather returns and the colors begin to change …

Even the last 3 cards look so different from each other … yet all so pretty.

The Country Lane Designer paper used on this card will first be Available Sept.5th).  Now … if you purchase the bundle today, you will qualify for the Bonus Buy and receive a $5 Coupon code to spend next month!!

I just want to remind you that this bundle is gone today.  Today is the last day you can order the bundle (See below)

I wish this was in our Annual Catalog … it is one stamp set that I have no trouble trying to come up with ideas for!  One that note, here are a few more cards ~

This card was created with the Watercolor Pencils Assortment 2 and today is possibly the last to get them for sure …

This was yesterday’s card where I also used the Watercolor Pencils and the Blender pen …

And Heaven & Nature Sing …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Did you get a chance to check out yesterday’s blog? It has 3 great card shares … Halloween, Autumn and Christmas. These cards were all from my Holiday Catalog Launch party and I have one more to share with you today!

Today’s card features the Nature Sings stamp set in the Annual Catalog. I think this stamp set is perfect for a masculine card (even a birthday card) or a family that enjoys the outdoors and nature.  We used the pair of deer and the trees …

My color pallet is natural – highlighting the new Shaded Spruce and teaming it with Old Olive. I based these from the pattern of Designer paper I chose in the Under the Mistletoe designer paper… I thought it was cool that there was that pretty deer patterned paper, then I added the stacked wood from the Wood Textures Designer paper stack.  It all fits so … well, naturally! It Brings the wood tones in with the green tones … just like nature gives us.

My base is Shaded Spruce cardstock and the card front is Old Olive … I stamped the trees 2 times before re-inking the stamp onto the front so you get a double shade of the Shaded Spruce. Also gives you an appearance of distance or dimension.

The deer where highlighted by stamping them onto Whisper White cardstock and cut out with the circle die from the Stitched Shapes Thinlits Dies. The coloring was done with the Old Olive and Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blend markers.

I finished off my card with the Bakers Twine (yes … it’s Garden Green) but it looks really nice with the card. The greens tie nicely together and the white ties in the deer on the designer paper and it all brings your eye to the focal point … the Nature Sings stamp set.

I thank you for joining me today and checking out my Christmas card creation.

Hope this inspires you to discover a little nature today … enjoy.

TODAY’S STAMPIN’ SUPPLY LIST … Don’t forget “Bonus Buys” going on through the end of the month … When you spend $50 before ship/taxes, you will receive a bonus coupon code which you can redeem in September!

Oh What a Night …

Hello Stampin’  Friends ~

Oh what a night … I always liked that song! And last night was a blast! I held my Catalog Launch party and we gathered to made 8 Holiday cards, ranging from Halloween to Christmas. Even our snacks ranged from Halloweens Nutter Butter Peanut Butter Mummies to White Chocolate Dipped Rice Krispy Yummies!

We all had a great time, met some new people and enjoyed a night full of stamping …

Let’s start our card share with Halloween!! This enchanting card will put a spell on you with it’s bubbling cauldron of fun. It comes from the new Toil & Trouble product suite …

Our Granny Apple Green background was embossed with the  Scattered Sequins Embossing Folder … I like that it looked like little bubbles floating up, just like my cauldron is doing!  It was matted with the Gorgeous Grape and adhered to the Basic Black base… all of these are in the Toil & Trouble Cardstock pack.

My bubbling cauldron is from the Toil & Trouble Designer Series paper and cut with the Cauldron Framelits Dies. I stamped the bubbles above it, added some pearls colored with the Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends and a touch of the Wink of Stella! I finished off my card with the awesome Black Glitter Ribbon – LOVE IT!!

I forgot to tell you that my sweet -n- spooky ghost was created with the Gorgeous Grape Watercolor Pencil from  Assortment 2, a blender pen and a touch of Wink of Stella.  I also used the Watercolor Pencils on my Fall card …

There it is … that Blended Seasons Bundle again!! I have more cards up in my head because there is are just so many things you can to with bundle. I don’t think I need to explain much on this card, I’ve said it all before with my past cards… This stamp really should be in your stamp collection.

The last card I’m going to share with you is the Christmas card … so simple and so elegant!  My base is the new Balmy Blue. The greeting is from the new Timeless Tidings stamp set and is Heat Embossed in white. It brings out that touch of white that surrounds the silver.

We embossed the “Seasonal Wreath” onto the Silver Foil Sheet. If you like it on the photo, you should see it in person … it’s stunning!!

We also added some Silver Twine and the Clear Faceted Gem to add some bling, dimension and texture.

I hope you enjoyed the cards we made last night, and we’d love to have you join us at our next stamp camp ..

Thank you so much coming over today. See you soon.

Just a reminder that with each $50 purchase (before shipping & handling) you will receive a Bonus Buy coupon code worth $5 from Stampin’ Up! to spend on your September purchase … when the Holiday Catalog goes live!!  AND … you will also get a Virtual Rewards point from me as well … double the fun!

Simply Sunday: Reflections + One

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

I have some new subscribers … welcome everyone!  I’m so excited today to share my reflection of the Color Your Season cards I’ve created so far (I have 2 more for my Launch Party tomorrow) and a new one to share today.

Lets begin with the Spring / Summer cards … This card was created from a mistake I made in class (there are no mistakes in stamping … just opportunities to improve or embellish!)  I just realized that I never shared the original card! lol  I must admit, I don’t always share the cards we do in class, I want them to be special for my attendees.

This is one of Stampin’ Up!s card creations, I just love how they created a wreath using the leaves …

Next would be Fall / Autumn cards … I challenged myself today because I have not used the “wheat” stamp up to this point so I’m introducing you to my creation today. This really is a simple card to create, and made easier when I looked up and saw this beautiful pattern paper sitting in front of me (I originally had a hand-stamped background) ~

Sponging is that “old” technique that will never go away … It’s quick, easy and creates a dramatic look!! When I think of wheat, I think of fields of wheat dancing in the breeze on a warm sunny day, and the golden color is so beautiful.

I cut my card front out first with the middle size die (there are 3 in the die set) and the vellum cardstock with the largest die.  I punched a 1-1/4 circle punch and used it to mask my front.  The sponging was done in Crushed Curry and at the very bottom there is a touch of Sahara Sand.

The wheat and the greeting (included in the stamp set) are stamped in Crumb Cake. I know, it looks much darker, but it is the gold tones that really bring out the richness of the Crumb Cake.

Now remember … the background for the base of my card was originally hand-stamped but as fate had it, I looked up and saw the Country Lane Designer paper (Available Sept.5th).  I laid the card front on top of it and knew that is exactly what this card need to finish it off!!

I just want to remind you that this bundle is only available for a few more days (or while supplies last) …

I wish this was in our Annual Catalog … it is one stamp set that I have no trouble trying to come up with ideas for!  One that note, here are a few more cards ~

This card was created with the Watercolor Pencils Assortment 2 which is also leaving in a few days …

This was yesterday’s card where I also used the Watercolor Pencils and the Blender pen …

My Christmas card was created using the Stampin’ Blends … that is the beauty of this bundle.  There are endless coloring techniques you can use!!

Again, I used the Stampin’ Blends and did some fussy cutting to create the arrangement on my wreath.  The bow is cut from the Silver Foil paper and colored with the Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blend.

So … what do you think? Versatile right? I haven’t shown the bells yet … In class we used them for a wedding card.  Here is today’s card once more, I think it turned out even better than I imaged when I began.

Oh wow … it appears I can’t spell – lol. That is “Blended Seasons” … Oh my!!

Thank you so much for joining me this Sunday. I appreciate you taking the time to visit on your weekend.

I hope you are having a wonderful and relaxing day.

TODAY’S STAMPIN’ SUPPLY LIST …

Twinkle Twinkle … You’re My Star!!

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

How have you liked the array of cards created with the Twinkle Twinkle Designer paper? Amazing … right! I actually bought it because of the “Stars” on many of the papers because my teams name is the Stars by Design! Then I found it could be used for so much more!

I have one more beautiful card to show you today, but lets start at the beginning and review what we’ve seen so far. My first card was for my granddaughters birthday … I teamed up the Twinkle Twinkle paper with the “Happy Birthday Gorgeous” stamp set and the Large Letter Framelit Dies. You can click HERE to view that post.

Of course I had to make a Baby Card with the Twinkle Twinkle paper and I way dying to try out my new “Tufted” Embossing Folder.  It is one of the 3-D Dynamic folders which gives you a beautiful deep impression. The greeting comes from the coordinating stamp set … the bundle comes with the Twinkle Builder punch (Save 10% when you buy the bundle) Click HERE to view this post.

I love the little dots in this series of paper to I teamed it up with the beautiful “Springtime Impressions” Thinlits Dies and the Stitched Framlit dies.  Butterflies always remind me of my Mom so what better greeting could I use than “love you”.  This greeting also comes from the Twinkle Twinkle Bundle … I just used my marker to color in the words “love you” and then stamped & cut them out.  You can view the post for this card HERE …just click on it.

This next card is just one of the cards that I designed for my Designer Series paper Class! I have always wanted to create a card like this (don’t know why it took me so long) because it’s simple yet it is so pretty! It showcases 3 more patterns in the Twinkle Twinkle paper … see the “stars”!! Here we used the new Detailed Trio punch with the corner rounder side.  More details can be found HERE on the original post.

And our Christmas card which I just showcased yesterday … It is truly amazing all of the different Occasions and different styles of cards you can make with this one little pack of Designer paper!

Today I’ll be sharing a card that uses the coordinating Twinkle Builder punch!! The cute little Moon with Stars punch can be used for baby cards and more! I combined the punch with the banner punch to create a fun layered look …

There are three different patterns of the Twinkle Twinkle paper on this card … the base is Night of Navy and the top banner that was punched is Pool Party, such a pretty combination. I have a piece of the Silver Foil sheet under the Pool Party banner highlighting the punch. The cute little silver stars are part of the Twinkle Twinkle product suite and can be found on page 83 in the annual catalog.

I hope you enjoyed the review of my Twinkle Twinkle Designer paper cards and today’s card. Thanks so much for sharing a part of your day with me!

Have a wonderful day ~
