Gift Giving with the Mini Treat Bags

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

If you’re looking for a cute way to create gift giving bags, we have the answer for you! The Mini Treat Bag dies are quick and easy to use, and great for holding a treat or gift card.

Sit back and enjoy the video, and then I will share a cute idea for a Holiday Gift Card.

Make a few mini treat bags with the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits dies, a Big Shot and your favorite Designer Series Paper. These mini treat bags are cute and so fun to give to away.

On our Holiday Bag, the original designer Alecia Connelly used the new “Holly” Impressions Folder to create texture on the bag.  Alecia is a fellow demonstrator that I was introduced to by being part of the “Leaders” private Facebook page that Stampin’ Up! set up for all demonstrators that are at the Silver Elite level and above … it’s a great place to get stamping ideas and tips for running our stamping businesses.

I asked Alecia if it was OK if I cased her project, she said “share, share, share away!” … This was our Friday Night project at the Holiday Star’s Retreat which I hosted for my downline (the ladies who signed up as demonstrators with me). Gent’s are welcome too! Our group is called the Star’s by Design.

The “Tin of Tags” stamp set and Stitched Framelits were used to create the greeting and focal point to the front of our package.  The holly comes from the “Holly Berry Happiness” stamp set … both of these are my “GO TO” holiday stamp sets!

The inside phrase also comes from the “Tin of Tags” stamp set!  To hold the gift card on, you can use the half punch that is discontinued, or you can do what I do and just stick a couple glue dots on the back!  They hold the card on great and come off easily by rubbing on them a bit (or you can use your adhesive remover).

Hope you enjoyed this cute Holiday Gift Giving Idea. I thank you for stopping by today.

Stay warm and have a wonderful day ~

A Holiday Welcome …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

I am back from our Annual Holiday Stampin’ Retreat. Today I have a quick post for you to share how we welcome our stampin’ guests to the Holiday Retreat!

Each of our guests has a “Name Tag” on their door that not only designates their room, but greets them as they come in. These would also make cute little place markers for a holiday dinner table.

I used the “Father Christmas” stamp set from the Holiday Catalog. The stamp set already includes the frame that I used and also has a beautiful holly branch and Santa’s bag, so it will be very versatile in your cardmaking and / or scrapbooking.

To add a pop of color to our tag, I grabbed my “Holly Berry Happiness” bundle and stamped some holly leaves and punched them out. I’ve used this stamp set many times already … the greetings and verses are awesome!

The cute little houses were made from “Sweet Home” Bundle … I’ve seen the cutest houses made from this bundle that I just had to share with our guests.  These little houses (and we had different styles & colors) adorned the mantle in the dining room. We wanted the retreat to feel warm and inviting as they entered.

The fun part was that each guest got to pick out their favorite at the end of our retreat stay and take one home with them. It’s a token of our appreciation for being our guest and a little reminder of the fun we had this weekend and that Eileen and I are honored to share the “Holiday Retreat” home with such marvelous women.

I’ll be sharing more about our retreat along with some photos of the awesome cards, both from the retreat and the swap cards! Let me say … these ladies are “very” talented!

Thanks for stopping by today, and please join me tomorrow to see a little more about our retreat.

Have a great day ~

STAMPIN’ SUPPLY LIST …

It’s a Merry Medley …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Woooo … sorry about that! I had a sinus headache turn migraine yesterday and it won! I don’t normally get headaches, especially like that but I’m here today with the card that I promised.

We made 10 cards at the Holiday Reveal party that highlighted a number of the stamp sets. It was truly hard to choose which stamps to use, there are so many awesome sets and bundles this year!!

Today I’d like to share the card I created using the “Merry Medley” stamp. This is one background stamp … I choose to purchase the wood when it comes to background stamps because I like the weight of the wood.

I flip my stamp “rubber up” then ink it … today we used the Whisper White Craft ink on Basic Black Cardstock. I find this to be the easiest way to use the background stamps … by placing the rubber up and placing the cardstock on top, you have more control over the position and coverage on your card.

After picking my cardstock off of the stamp, I dipped it into White Embossing Powder, tapped off the excess and heat embossed it. I love the “white on white” look because it is more bold than if you use a VersaMark or other emboss pad … even though they work well, this is just my preference.

I teamed up the “Merry Medley” stamp with the “Holly Berry” Bundle. I punched out the Holly leaves and then stamped on them (usually I do it the other way, stamp first then punch) but with the photopolymer stamps, it’s just as easy to punch these out first then stamp.

You’ll see a strip of Real Red cardstock wrapped with the Old Olive Bakers twine … I added that to draw your eye to the cluster of holly leaves and it coordinates nicely with the red berries. The berries were created using the Rhinestones and a red Sharpie™. The entire front was matted with Real Red cardstock and mounted onto the Black base of the card.

The inside was stamped with Momento Ink and colored in with markers. Simple but colorful … if you don’t like to putz with coloring, just stamp your holly in green!

Hope you enjoyed today’s card … we sure had fun on Monday.  What a great group of stampers … Thanks.

Thank you for stopping by today, I hope your day is a great one.
