Christmas Begins with Love

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I’m going to share with you a stunning card created with a technique I shared earlier and a bundle I have shared with you recently …. My Christmas Begins with Love card marries them both together.

Back in November I shared a card with you highlighting the “Stained Glass Glitter Window” technique …

and last week I introduced you to the Shine Bright bundle and another form of a “Stained Glass” look ….

Today, I’d like to combine the two and show you a stunning card! I love how this turned out …

The image and greeting are stamped directly onto the Window Sheet using the StazOn™ Ink and colored from the back with our Stampin’ Blends. I used the Dark Cherry Cobbler and Dark Old Olive Blends.

I colored a few layers to give it the deep rich color you see … laying it on top of the Sparkle Glimmer paper created that stunning stained glass glitter effect. I used Glue Dots to adhere the Window Sheet to the Glimmer paper.

I used the Holiday Rhinestones and the Basic Rhinestones to add even more shine to the card.  I place my rhinestones in the little circles on the image … and the a few under the greeting to highlight it and coordinate the color rhinestones from the top of the tree.

An easy card to make … but elegant to look at. I hope these cards inspired you to give the “stained glass” technique a try.

I’m so happy that you came over to my blog today … Thanks!

Have a great day.

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I’d like to share with you a card that my November Stamp Clubs made with the Stained Glass Glitter Window technique.  I did not create this technique but you know if it’s got glitter … I’ll find it!!  The first time I saw this done was a card shared by fellow demonstrator Dawn Griffith.

Before I begin, I’d like to share Kathie’s card again from yesterday.  I set up my little photo booth and captured the real essence of this card (I am also replacing the pictures from yesterday’s blog post so if you go back to it, you’ll see the card in it’s glory) ….

My stamp clubs this year are focusing on Techniques and Unique Card Folds while we incorporate all the new products Stampin’ Up! has to offer … it’s a great way to be able to play with the new stuff (before you buy) and learn some cool stuff!

This month we did the Stained Glass Glitter window technique … window because I believe we are using window sheets, and that is where we begin.  I chose to highlight the beautiful God’s Peace stamp set!  The image and greeting are stamped directly onto the Window Sheet using the StazOn™ Ink.

I also used my Stamparatus so the alignment was perfect every time.  When using StazOn™ with the window sheets and Stamparatus, make sure your pad is inked nicely so you don’t get a “pull” when you remove the stamp from the window sheet … it can be a little sticky!

Make sure your ink is completely dry and then you will “FLIP OVER” your window sheet and color from the backside. If you color on the inked side, the Stampin’ Blends are alcohol based and will SMEAR the ink! I love coloring on the backside … helps me stay within the lines a little better …. lol.

Once your coloring is done coloring … I used the Daffodil Delight, Old Olive and Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blends Combo Packs, place glue dots behind some of your stamped images to hide them and then attach your window sheet to the Sparkle Glimmer Sheet.

Those little white dots you see on the colored images are actually the glitter showing through. I tried several times to capture the way the glitter comes through the colored areas but the window sheet reflects the light. This technique is really simple and your results are stunning! My camera definitely cannot see what the eye can. I’ll work on that.

I hope I inspired you to try this technique. You will be amazed at how easy it is and how beautiful your results are. All you need are Window Sheets, StazOn™ Ink, assorted Stampin’ Blends, and the Sparkle Glimmer paper … in fact, you can use Silver Glimmer paper as well.

Thank you for joining me today …

Have a beautiful day!
