Dazzling Magnolia Card …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

I have yet another card to share with you from the Magnolia Lane product suite. Today’s card features many of the items included in the suite such as the Good Morning Magnolia bundle (Stamp Set and Dies), the Magnolia Lane Cards and Envelopes, and the twine from the Magnolia Lane Ribbon Combo Pack.

I began with the cards and envelopes … I love the ribbons of silver that are embossed onto the card front.  I used this to frame my “Sparkle” Glimmer paper. Then I heat embossed the Magnolia in Whisper White onto our Vellum cardstock.  I used the “Light” So Saffron Stampin’ Blend that comes in the suite to color the center of my flower.

The next step was to flip over our embossed flower and color the backside with Flirty Flamingo and Old Olive Stampin’ Blends Combo packs.  Coloring from the back creates a slightly softer look and keeps the color off of the white embossed lines…. LOVE IT!!

For my simple “Hello” … I stamped it in Flirty Flamingo and used the Layering Circle Dies to cut it out and mat it with the Silver Foil.  The silver mat ties in the silver embossing on the card front.  Then just a little twine behind the greeting to finish off my card.

The combination of the vellum and sparkle really turns this natural background into something a little more glamourous … and it works!!

Thank you for stopping back today, hope your day is a good one!

Simply Sunday: Hello Magnolia Card

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I would like to share with you a beautiful card that we made in our Stampin’ Club this month.  It is simple yet elegant, done in black and white with a pop of color … just like that “Little Black Dress” that we all need and a touch of embellishing.  I also am including photos and instructions to you can start creating this card right away …

You begin with simply the Whisper White and Basic Black cardstock … and only 3 pieces to make today’s card.  A half sheet of Whisper White (Cut: 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″) and a smaller piece (Cut: 4″ x 2-3/4″) and Basic Black (Cut: 4-1/4″ – 3″) which you will use to “mat” the smaller Whisper White.

Fold your card in half and burnish it at the fold so that it lays very flat.  Then add a touch of Snail Adhesive to the smaller piece of Whisper White … this is only to hold you 2 pieces together while stamping, you want to take it back off later.

I lay my stamps “rubber up” while I ink … this gives you the perfect view of how much ink you are putting onto your stamp, and to see that it is applied evenly.  Makes for a much better stamped image (and it’s easier than lifting that big block over a small ink pad).

You’ll want to stamp this somewhat in the lower left hand corner so you have room for your greeting …

Once you have stamped your image and your greeting, you are ready to color …

I began with adding yellow to the center of the flower. You can use your Stampin’ Blends or Stampin’ Write Markers in your favorite shade of yellow.  I used Pineapple Punch on mine.

Next you will use your Sponge Daubers to color the flower (Petal Pink) and the leaves (Old Olive).

Gently pull the dauber over the petals / leaves to add a touch of color … we just wanted to add a little color to draw the eye in but want the magnificient Magnolia to be the focal point of the card.

When your sponging is complete, you can now pull off the small piece and adhere it to your Black mat … then you can mount that directly onto your card front, aligning the stamped image.

Now it’s time to add some accessories to your little black dress … “embellish your card” with a little Wink of Stella over the flower petals and a few rhinestones around the card for a little bling! Plus, it balances out your card nicely.

You will be amazed at how simple it is to create this beautiful card.  The entire Magnolia suite is amazing and a “must” in my stamp collection … how about yours?  If you’d like to see more samples that I have created, just enter “Magnolia Lane” in the search box at the top of my blog and it will pull up all of my posts that have “magnolia” in it!!

Thank you so much for joining me today!

I hope you have a beautiful Sunday … Enjoy!

Simply Sunday: Magnolia Style

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I have another card created with the stunning Magnolia Lane bundle, and it’s super quick to create yet beautiful to look at. I also have some great tips in store for you.  Many of my stampin’ friends are oh so busy, that is why I dedicate my Sunday blog posts to simple cards, and what quicker way to create gorgeous cards that with our pretty designer series paper.  The Magnolia Lane Designer Series paper is one of my favorite floral papers.

With a simple base and a piece of designer paper … you have a beautiful card.  Add your greeting and a pretty strip of ribbon and you’re done! Here’s a great tip for you … While you have your paper cutter out, cut some extra card bases, then cut your designer paper into 4″ x 6″ pieces (then cut the 6″ side down to 5-1/4) Use the extra piece of designer paper to put inside your card 🙂  Why you could create your own little card kit!! Stamp up a few greetings as well and tuck them in little box and tag it Magnolia Lane. You could do this with all of your designer paper packets (even your older ones… makin’ sure we use them)!

On today’s card, my second stampin’ tip is … I let the floral pattern of the designer paper dictate where I would put my ribbon and greeting!  We don’t want to cover up all those pretty flowers, so I found a spot that I felt was made just for my greeting … lol.  I used the greeting from the Good Morning Magnolia Stamp Set in the suite, and punched it out using the Tailored Tag punch. You’ll see I punched the mat (Early Espresso) and cut it in half … I really made the greeting show up better.

The ribbon is not in the Magnolia Lane product suite, but it should be, it matches perfectly and is so elegant.  You will find the Petal Pink Organdy Striped Ribbon on page 174 with the other ribbons.  The ribbon pack that is in the Magnolia Lane suite will be featured on tomorrows card.

I hope you enjoyed todays cards and the stampin’ tips inspire you to create your own card kits so making up a card when you need it will be super quick -n- easy. Let me know if you have any questions, or need anything… here to help.

I want to “Thank You” for hanging out with me this Sunday.

I hope you have an awesome day ~

Hello Magnolia!!

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

If you are lovin’ the Magnolia Lane Suite, then today’s card is going to dazzle you!!  Just like you, I head to pinterest if I need a little inspiration and with my busy work schedule lately that is right where I went when I was planning my Magnolia Card Class. It may have been storming outside but we were safe inside with out Magnolia Lane Suite and flowery treats!

Today’s card was inspired by a card I found on Pinterest from “Cheri’s Cards” but I put a big ole’ twist to make it my own … that’s where the “dazzle” comes from!

The base comes from the ___ which is included in the suite. I added some of the “Sprarkly” Shimmer paper to highlight the focal point which is our magnolia.  The magnolia was stamped with White Craft Ink on our Vellum Cardstock and heat embossed with the White Embossing powder.

Once the embossing is complete ~ it’s time to color!  I used the Stampin’ Blends because well … they blend so nice. I really wanted the colors to POP so I chose the Flirty Flamingo and Granny Apple Green, these colors really go together nicely.  Flip OVER your embossed paper because you will be coloring on the backside. We started with the flamingo and brushed the color on from the bottom of the petals and went about half way up, then added a little more to the base (bottom) of the petal to create a darker look.

Then came the leaves … with a stroke of the Dark Granny Apple Green up the center and then finished it off with the Light. It dries pretty quick, so you can now flip it back over to the front where you can feel the raised embossed area.  We will also add a little color on this side … add just a touch more of the Flirty Flamingo to the base of the petals, creating even more depth. Then we add some Daffodil Delight onto the center of our Magnolia.  Time to pull out the framelit die and cut it out.

To finish off our card, we stamped the greeting “Hello” from the stamp set as well, in Flirty Flamingo and backed it with Silver Foil … this brings out the silver imagery on the card base! We also added some of the twine that is in the duo ribbon pack included in your product suite!  It doesn’t take much to create amazing cards with Magnolia Lane product suite …. there are so many fun and interesting elements included in the suite.

Thank you for spending a part of your Saturday with me, I will be back tomorrow with another Magnolia Lane card share.

Have a beautiful day ~

Thinking of Magnolia’s …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

The magnolia family is one of the oldest trees in existence. Because magnolias are so old, their flowers do not have true petals and sepals; instead, they have petal-like tepals… all I know is they are beautiful and the Magnolia Lane is one of my favorite suites in the new catalog. How about you?

Today I’m sharing a sweet magnolia card with you that’s simplicity and beauty will surely warm your heart. Your friends are going to love receiving this card … letting them know you are thinking of them ….

The base of the card is Basic Black … Just like a little black dress, it goes good with the magnolia flower. The flower was stamped with Momento ink and then I sponged a hint of Flirty Flamingo in the center of the flower and then added a touch of Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends. The soft color adds a beautiful contrast to the stark white and black.  The leaves are colored with the Old Olive Duo Stampin’ Blends …

The greeting also comes from the stamp set, the soft flowing script coordinates perfectly with the delicate flower.  I punched out the greeting with the Pretty Label punch … several punches of the Basic Black for a mat behind the greeting and really makes it pop and finishes the card off beautifully.

I hope you enjoyed a sneak peek into my Magnolia class … this is not one of the cards we’re making but it’s sure a good start!

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I have yet one more beautiful card from the Magnolia Lane product suite. This card was made by my friend and fellow demonstrator Gloria Helmbrecht.  This was Gloria’s swap card from the Stampin’ Up! Leadership event we attended a few weeks back … with all the pretty samples being shown, I just had to share with you.

Gloria stamped her magnolia image and cut it out using the coordinating dies.  She then creatively colored her magnolia using the watercolor technique.  The flower was then mounted onto the card front that had the stunning Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper.  This designer paper features hand-painted impressionistic imagery in rich colors.

Coordinating colors in the Perennial Designer paper includes. Balmy Blue, Blackberry Bliss, Blueberry Bushel, Calypso Coral, Crushed Curry, Flirty Flamingo, Mossy Meadow, Old Olive, Petal Pink, So Saffron, Whisper White.

I am so excited to share more of the products from the new catalog in the upcoming posts … Is there anything that you would like to see right away? Hopefully I have that item and can share some samples with you.
