Come Sail Away … Guest Stamper: Brenda M.

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I have a masculine card and a 8-1/2″ x 11″ Suite Sampler for you.  So join me (virtually) and we’ll sail away on an open course to creativity with the Come Sail Away Product Suite.  The artsy maritime Designer Series Paper, stamp set, and coordinating dies come together perfectly to help you feel as if you’re relaxing on the cape. With some Baker’s Twine and Sail Away Trinkets, you can make handmade cards for everyone on your list, no matter where they are in their journey. With this suite you’ll soon see the endless possibilities Come Sail Away has to offer!

My background has one of the designs from the Come Sail Away Designer Series paper, and is adhered to a Night of Navy card base.  My sail boat and greeting are both stamped with Night of Navy on Sahara Sand cardstock.  I used the coordinating Balmy Blue cardstock which pulls the color out of the designer paper.  I embossed it with the “High Seas” 3D Embossing Folder that is included in the suite … it adds movement and texture to the card.

Also included in the suite are the Bakers Twine and Sail Away Trinkets which embellish the card so nicely.  The bakers twine ties the colors together and the “helm” or “ships steering wheel” adds some fun dimension to the card and ties nicely with the greeting which was die cut using the circle dies.  The lighthouse and birds were stamped on the inside of the card to create a little interest when writing your note.  Besides … I love lighthouses!

Now … if you would like to view a “Sampler” of the Come Sail Away Suite, set your sights on this beauty, created by my friend and Stars team member .. Brenda Morateck.  Brenda used both the Come Sail Away and the High Tide Stamp sets.

Creating “samplers” … home decor pieces are really “HOT” right now, and from looking at Brenda’s, I can see why.  I will most definitely be casing her work, I just love it!! It’s going to be hung on the wall next to my Lighthouse collection.

This was the first thing that I ordered out of the 2019-20 Annual Catalog … I’m hoping this does not retire, but I do know that the 10% SAVINGS of purchasing the “Suite” or the “Bundle” will be gone with this catalog.

Thank you for joining me today, hope yours is a good one.

See you tomorrow ~

TODAY’S STAMPING SUPPLY LIST … These items can also be found on pages 144-146 of the 2019-20 Annual Catalog.  If you click on any item, it will take you to my stamp store where you can get more details or begin your shopping.  Thank you.

Let Hope Be Your Anchor Card with Fun Fold …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I’m sharing a masculine card that was created using one of the designer papers that is currently on sale and a fun fold!!  I began with the Sailing Away Bundle and the Come Sail Away designer paper.

The fun fold showcases 2 different patterns from the Come Sail Away Designer paper.  These two patterns together create a wonderful nautical card … great if you need a masculine card. However, the lighthouses and beautiful sailboat could easily be gifted to a girl friend or family member that loves the lakefront and all the beauty it offers.

Both the greeting and the sail boat comes from the Sailing Home Stamp set and the cute little anchor and Bakers Twine can be found in the product suite on page 145 of the Annual Catalog. The greeting flips open …

… and it exposes the perfect little spot to write your personal note to friend or family member. The left side also flips open … It’s just a fun way to present your message. Many of my stampin’ friends are looking for something different from the normal type card.

If you need more space for your message, you can always create a larger inner card … I was just showcasing the designer paper. Don’t like to cover it up too much.

Don’t forget that the Come Sail Away Designer Series paper is one of the papers that are currently on sale.

I hope you enjoyed this fun fold and nautical style featuring the Sailing Home Bundle …

Thank you for joining me today…

I hope you have a good one.

Sailing Away: Bridge Fold Card …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Last night I held my “Sailing Away” Class … rescheduled because I was sick last week (Thanks Ladies) and we had a great time making some really amazing cards, learning a new technique and did two cards with cool fold cards.

One of these cards I am sharing with you today … it is the Bridge Fold card with a fun new technique I called Watercolor Waves.  I will try to explain it to you the best I can.  First let me show you the card …

We did this in Night of Navy cardstock and embellished it with the Come Sail Away Designer Series paper and the Sail Away Trinkets.  The greeting and sun were punched out using the 1-1/2″ Circle punch, the mat behind the greeting was die cut using one of the dies from the set included in the bundle.

The inner part of the card is Balmy Blue cardstock which was embossed 1/2 way up using the “High Seas” embossing folder.  Then we used the Wink of Stella pen and Night of Navy ink to watercolor over our waves.  Start with the darker shades at the bottom of the wave and as the ink comes off the brush, it gets lighter as you go up the wave.  Once dry (and it dries pretty fast) use a sponge dauber and the White Craft Ink to sponge the tops of the waves … creating white caps!

The “bridge” that goes across the card was done in Night of Navy and Balmy Blue wrapped in the Night of Navy / Sahara Sand Bakers Twine.  Everything coordinates so nicely and can be found on pages 144 – 146 in the Come Sail Away Suite.  That can now be purchased with just one number, and includes the “Sailing Home” bundle of the stamp set and dies (at a 10% discount).

Don’t forget the Designer Series Paper in on Sale … Buy 3 / Get 1 FREE.

Hope you enjoyed today’s card as much as I enjoyed designing it and sharing it with my class.

Thank you so much for sharing a part of your day with me.

Enjoy your Saturday ~

Come Sail Away! Guest Stamper: Marilyn B.

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

I have another swap card to share with you today … I could not pass this one up since it features one of my favorite bundles and a Step Fold card! This stunning card was created by one of my Star’s team member Marilyn.

The card is known as a “Step” fold card and created fascinating dimension to your card … gives the sailboats the look of distance.  I am in the process of recreating this layout so I can create a tutorial on “how to” make it.  In fact, it will be one of the two step cards that my club member will be learning how to make this fall.

My Stampin’ Clubs will start in September and if you are interesting in learning new techniques, using new stamps, dies and accessories first hand, and getting to know how some of the new products work and embellish your cards and scrapbook pages … you will want to join. Contact me if interested … I may also be starting a VIRTUAL Club for those who live out of my area .. or out of state!  Again, contact me for full details.

Marilyn used the new “Sailing Home” bundle from the Annual Catalog. This is one of my favorite bundles / product suites.  In fact, the lighthouse looks similar to a lighthouse in Fond du Lac, WI.  This is such a great masculine card. I hope you have enjoyed it as much as I have.

Thanks for stopping by and watch for an upcoming tutorial on the Step Fold Card … better yet, join one of my Stamp Clubs and learn first hand how to do this and so much more!  We are focusing on techniques and fun folds this year.

Have a wonderful day ~
