A Fresh Twist on the Diagonal Cut Fun Fold!

Hello, Stampin’ Friends!

If you loved yesterday’s diagonal cut fun fold, you’re in for a treat today! I’ve got another way to use this eye-catching cut—this time with an even simpler approach, making it effortless to recreate. No extra layering, no fuss—just a beautiful, elegant design that comes together in minutes.

What makes this card truly stand out? The stunning Lovely Garden Designer Series Paper! This brand-new paper is a delightful contradiction—delicate yet bold, soft yet striking. Its high-contrast florals and intricate patterns add depth and dimension to any project. Whether you’re crafting heartfelt cards, scrapbook pages filled with floral accents, or creating charming gift packaging, this paper does all the work for you.

I’ll walk you through how I created this version of the diagonal fun fold, sharing tips to make it even easier. And trust me, once you see how beautifully this paper transforms your simple fun fold card into something extraordinary, you’ll want to grab a pack (or two!) before it disappears.

  1. Start with 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ cardstock / Score at 4 1/4″
  2. Place cardstock into cutter. Using the cutting “groove” align the Top Right-hand corner to the bottom of the score line.

3. You will use the cut off piece for your card … just flip it upside down with the wide part to the top, and narrow edge to bottom. Before assembly – you need your designer paper.

4. Your designer paper should be 4″ x 5 1/4″ and choose a sheet that has patterns you like on both sides, or you can cut two different sheets and use the designs you want.

5. Cut your designer paper just like the cardstock … From the top right-hand corner to the bottom left-hand corner. You’ll flip the paper just like the cardstock.

6. You can assemble your loose piece either over the top (like the picture above) or underneath like the one below.

7. Simply add a white piece of cardstock to your inside: 5 1/4″ x 4″ … stamp as desired!

8. To complete your card … embellish as desired! I cut out one of the flowers from the designer paper and used that to embellish (plus a little Wink of Stella).

“With just a simple cut and the breathtaking designs of the Lovely Garden Designer Paper, we’ve transformed an easy Fun Fold into a stunning creation. I hope this inspires you to give it a try and let your creativity bloom!”

If this paper speaks to your creative heart, you can find it waiting for you in my [online store]!

Happy stamping! 💕✂️

A Perfect Wedding / Anniversary Card ….

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

I’m excited to share a special card I created for my design team challenge. The theme was Wedding or Anniversary cards, and I decided to go for a modern and elegant look. This card is done in classic white and silver, making it perfect for a wedding or a 25th anniversary celebration.

The Layering Leaves stamp set with the Naturally Gilded Specialty paper, was the star of the show. This sets beautiful fonts make it perfect for adding a touch of elegance to any project.

To give my card a modern twist, I used the Dotted Circles 3D embossing folder. This folder adds a unique and contemporary texture that really makes the card stand out. The embossed circles create a stunning backdrop for the other elements on the card, adding interest without overwhelming the design.

This card is one of my favorites because it combines several different elements and techniques to create a cohesive and elegant design. The white and silver color scheme is timeless and perfect for special occasions like weddings and anniversaries. The modern texture of the Circles 3D embossing folder, the natural beauty of the Layering Leaves stamp set, and the shimmer of the Naturally Gilded Specialty paper all work together to create a card that is both sophisticated and contemporary.

If you would like the PDF for this card and another beautiful wedding design, place an order during the month of July and I will send them both to your email address.

Thanks for joining me today.

Get Creative with Water-Based Ink and the Dragging Technique

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today, we’re diving into the wonderful world of water-based ink and a technique that’s as fun as it is beautiful: the Dragging technique. We’ll be using the Gorgeous Garden dies to cut out our inked creations & add a touch of elegance. Get ready for some crafty goodness we explore the ease and creativity of this technique!

The dragging technique is a simple yet versatile method that involves dragging your water-based ink across the surface of your cardstock for a stunning effect. You can use a straight drag motion as shown above, or you can put your creative juices into it and drag is several different directions.

Once your inked background is dry, it’s time to break out the Gorgeous Garden dies. Carefully align them over your masterpiece and run them through your die-cutting machine. Voilà! You’ve just turned your inked creation into a work of art.

Next you’ll want to create that layered look by simply gluing your Gorgeous Garden die cut onto a piece of Old Olive cardstock … Let Dry and trim down to 5″ x 3-3/4″. Layer with a Basic Black mat measuring 5-1/4″ x 4″. Using dimensionals, attach to Old Olive cardbase.

Let’s not forget the greeting! Use the Layer Leaves stamp set to stamp a heartfelt message, and then use the Stylish Shapes dies to give it shape. Time to use up the left over Threaded Twine that we used on our last card … It’s like giving your project a little bowtie – classy and fun!

The twine also reflects the “natural look” that blends well with the leaves, and adds so much texture and dimension to your card. Pop this up with our Stampin’ Dimensionals. Don’t forget to embellish … I used the Classic Matte Dots in Black to pull out the color of my mat. Clever!

Crafting should always be an adventure, and the dragging technique with water-based ink proves just that. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or a newbie in the crafting world, this technique offers endless possibilities for creativity. So, grab your supplies, unleash your inner artist, and let your imagination run wild with water-based ink and the Gorgeous Garden dies.

Thank you for hanging out with me today … have fun!

Sending Sandy Beaches & Seashells …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

With the weekend just around the corner, are you dreaming of sandy beaches and pretty sea shells? Let me help you with that … a little inspiration that you can stamp and send pretty cards that reflect these emotions. As promised, I am using the Simple Sayings stamp set …

Hope you got a chance to watch my video from yesterday that showed a tip for easily stamping your images in a perfect circle. If not, CLICK HERE TO WATCH! I love these seashells and used the designer paper as my guide for coloring … Petal Pink, Smoky Slate, and the Medium and Medium Light Natural Tones Stampin’ Blends. You could have so much fun and use some blues and aqua colors to!!

My card base is Petal Pink with an Early Espresso mat on the Hello, Irresistible Designer Series Paper. I used this pattern / design because it reminded me of the pretty plants the float in the oceans. I used the Stylish Shapes to cut all my circles out, and cut the Early Espresso right from my mat so I didn’t waste any paper!

I used the Layering Leaves stamp set for my greeting, and stamped it in Early Espresso onto Vellum cardstock. You either have to let this dry for a while, or heat set is because the ink is actually sitting “on top” of the vellum so it takes longer to dry.

To attach it; I rolled up the Mini Glue Dots and hid them behind the greeting so you could not see them through the vellum. The stamped shells are popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals to create some dimension and texture on the card.

So … does this remind you of the beach? Just wanted to share some inspiration for using different colors and designer papers.

Thank you so much for stopping by today. If you enjoyed today’s card, please give a LIKE by clicking the button at the bottom of this post.

Quick & Easy Cards featuring the One Horse Open Sleigh Designer Paper

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I have three Quick & Easy Cards featuring the One Horse Open Sleigh Designer Paper. I will also be sharing the video replay of my Facebook LIVE last night. You’ll hear me talk about the “third” card in my video … can’t wait until you see it. Let’s begin with the video for those of you who did not catch the LIVE.

I also thought I would share the cards here as well so you can get a better look. The first card is super simple to make and I love this “looking down view” on this designer paper. This pack of designer paper is full of amazing patterns.

The second card is not hard to make and looks so cool when you have a landscape pattern like we have here. Remember, this is only half of the paper because each strip is 1″ wide. The Boho Blue and Misty Moonlight really pull the blue tones out of this paper … Wait till you see the what I did with the other 3 panels!!

Since I pulled the blue tones from the first of our designer paper panels, I decided to pull out the pinks and yellow on my next card.

The base is Basic Gray because I love how it looks with the Petal Pink. I also used it to mat my designer series paper panels. Just the the other card, my panels are cut 1″ x 5″ ….

The Petal Pink was cut at 4″ x 5-1/4″ and then the Lemon Lolly; 3-7/8″ x 5-1/8″ then was cut diagonally. I then attached the Lemon Lolly to the Petal Pink and ran it through my embossing machine using the Timeworn Type embossing folder.

The panels are now attached to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Do you see those leaves on the One Horse Open Sleigh designer paper? I decided to take this paper into autumn and cut out some leaves using the Around the Bend dies in Copper Clay. So pretty.

The Smoky Slate cardstock was stamped with Misty Moonlight with my greeting and then die cut with the Stylish Shapes dies. It was attached to the panels and then adorned with the Copper Clay leaves.

The designer paper may be called “One Horse Open Sleight” but you can use the gorgeous paper in so many ways …. just have fun!! I love the way both these cards turned out, great way to use one sheet of designer paper.

I hope you got a wave of inspiration with today’s cards, and I thank you for stopping by and hanging out with me for a bit.

Have a great day ~

Simply Sunday: Tips for Designer Paper

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Happy Sunday! Today I’d like to share one of my Stampin’ Tips for creating with designer paper who’s patterns are a bit, well … BOLD!! Some designs we look at and know exactly what we would like to do with them, others leave us with a question mark … lol.

Yesterday I highlighted the pattern with a simple die cut, today it’s all in the pattern of the card. When you have bold patterns you are not sure how to use them … go small! Today I turned a bold pattern into a simple little block that will create our focal point.

I was not sure how I wanted to use those big X’s, and the other pattern… well, it kind of hurt my eyes!! lol But cut into smaller blocks (1-1/2″ x 1-1/2″) we tame them down and create a cute design of blocks. I love the little swans so I added them into my Black & White themed card … it is what gave my my pop of color.

I matted my designer paper blocks with Calypso Coral measuring 1-5/8″ x 1-5/8″. Then I used my Stampin’ Blends to color the White Bakers Twine to Calypso Coral! The blocks were placed onto a 3-1/2″ x 3-1/2″ piece of Basic White…. this fun pattern of blocks create the focal point of our card.

I popped up the entire assembly with the foam adhesive sheets. I stamped my greeting from the Layering Leaves stamp set with Memento Ink and finished it off with the Classic Matte Dots in Black. The front was then layered onto a Basic Black card base.

I love all the texture and dimension of this card, and those crazy patterns make this card fun! If there is ever a pattern in your pack of designer paper that you are not sure what to do with it … tame it! Cut it down into blocks, or maybe use a collection of circles. Just have fun with it, and use it up.

Thank you for taking time out of your Sunday to visit me!

Have a wonderful day.

Father’s Day Faux Step Card

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I’m going to share a Father’s Day Faux Step card using the Let’s Go Fishing Designer Series Paper. I also have a second card to share with you that uses the Countryside Inn Designer paper… each of these cards use the same dimensions I shared with you yesterday. Due to some difficulties filming yesterday, I’m hoping to get my video to you by tomorrow.

On this card I will be using a Boho Blue card base and the Let’s Go Fishing Designer paper …

You are seeing 3 different patterns of cardstock … one with the flies, the second that looks like water and the third in which I fussy cut 3 fish from. I love the contrast on this card and of course it works so well together, plus it highlights the fish.

Two of the fish are popped up to add some dimension to our card and the other was secured directly to the front. The greeting comes from the Gone Fishing Bundle and was die cut with the Stylish Shapes Dies.

  • Card Base: 9″ x 4-1/4″ which is scored at 1-1/4″ … 2-1/2″ … and 5-3/4″.
  • Center step: 8-1/2″ x 2-1/4″ then score at 3″.
  • You need 3 pieces of designer paper; 4″ x 3″ … 4″ x 1″ (those will go on the base of the card). The 4″ x 1″ goes on the smallest panel to the front, then skip a panel, and then the 4″ x 3″ piece will go on the 3rd panel. The third measures 2″ x 5-1/4″ which goes on the step portion of your card.

My second card used the Countryside Inn Designer paper and is simply elegant ….

The greeting comes from the Layering Leaves stamp set and I used the Stylish Shapes dies to cut it out. I then embellished the card with the Iridescent Rhinestones … They are very subtle as they pick up the color that they are attached to!!

Thank you for taking time out of your day to join me … Which one of these Faux Step Cards is your favorite; the Fathers Day with Let’s Go Fishing or the Hello card using the Countryside Inn?

Have a great day ~

Simply Sunday: Fun Fold Daisy Card

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Happy Sunday! Today I have a fun fold for you with our “Cheerful Daisy” … perfect day for it today, it’s beautiful here in Wisconsin!!

I am repurposing some “cut” cardstock from my retreat (I always take a few extra … just in case) so I was on a mission to start using these up. This was one of our Fun Folds that we made, the “Book Binder” technique/fun fold. They are so simple to make and add a little fun to your card.

We begin with the card base; Starry Sky measuring 11″ x 4 1/4″ and then on the 11″ length; score at 4 – 1/4″ and 5 – 1/2″. Now you’ll fold your card in half on the 5 – 1/2″ score line, then fold the front flap “back over” … like you are opening the card but on the 4 – 1/4″ score line.

Now we are ready to add some cardstock and create the Binder effect …. You’ll need Basic White measuring 1″ x 4″ and 4″ x 4″ embossed with the Timeworn Type 3-D embossing folder. Once you’ve attached your textured pieces, you can add your bow. I’m using the Black & White Gingham ribbon using 2 pieces. Cut one piece at 6″ … add your adhesive to the “inside / back of that piece and secure your ribbon edges down.

Now, put adhesive on that area “between” the two score lines and secure it … this creates your “Book Binder” fold. Now you can slide the second piece of ribbon under your secure piece on front and tie. This creates a bow that will not fall off or slide around.

OK … We are ready for the focal point of our card ….

Our Basic White square measures 3″ x 3″ and we begin by stamping our “hello” first. I am using the beautiful Layering Leaves stamp set. I then stamped my large daisy … both are stamped with our Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.

Using the Night of Navy in the Assortment 2 Watercolor Pencils, I added a touch of color and then softened it by blending it with the Blender Pen. I finished it off by filling the center with the Iridescent Rhinestones (they are so versatile)!

That’s it! It really is so simple to make and the Book Binder fun fold adds a great touch to your card. Hope this inspired YOU to try out this Fun Fold. Until next time … Have a great day.

Thanks for stopping by today ~
