Throwback Thursday: Happy Easter

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I’m bringing back a really cute Easter card and a scrapbook page! With the products we currently have in our catalog today, you could easily recreate either of these two projects.

My “technique” that I was teaching when these were created was “Dying your Glimmer Paper”.  I taught my classes how to use your ink refills and either a sponge dauber or the Stampin’ Spritzers to color the Glimmer paper … NOW you don’t have too! With the beautiful colors of Glimmer Paper Stampin’ Up! has brought out for Sale-a-bration all you have to do is punch! No fuss required!

The first is my bunny card …

Both the bunny and the eggs were created with a combination of circle and oval punches … now, I think I would use the Layering Circle and Oval Framelits. You will have a greater choice of sizes this way. The little bunny tail was made with a flower punch.

I used the same format on my scrapbook page as I did on my card.  That is one thing that I have always taught in my classes.  Use what inspires you to create what ever you need.  How do you like the little chick I tucked inside the cracked egg? Again, made with the oval 🙂

OK, I have one more card that I want to share with you that I created using the “Dying your Glimmer Paper” technique …

You could easily recreate this card using the Sale-a-bration Glimmer paper. And you know what … the “Petite Petals” punch that I used to make this card is still in the catalog!!  You know what else would be cute … the Elegant Butterfly punch.

Just because something is old (Created 2014) … doesn’t mean it can’t be new again!

Thank you for stepping back in time with me today, I hope this inspires you to get creative and have some fun!

Have yourself a wonderful day ~

Crazy about You …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

If you haven’t noticed, I’ve been having a great time down in my Stampin’ Studio creating cards with all the new products from the Occasions and Sale-a-bration catalogs.

Today I’d like to share a touch of Valentine’s day with you … before we know it, it will be here and we want to be prepared. I began with the cute new “Happy Heart” Textured Impressions folder and used it with the “Shimmery White” cardstock.

Sometimes I like to pull stuff out of my stash, that I haven’t used for a while. I find that most of the time is works beautifully together with our new items, and our Shimmery White cardstock is subtly beautiful with just a touch of shimmer.

I wanted to create a “Shaker Card” so I used the “Sweetheart” punch from the catalog and punched out a section for my window. I covered it with a piece of the Window Sheets and then used the outer edges of the stampin’ dimensionals to create the “well” in which I put my confetti in.

To create the confetti I used the “Confetti Heart Border Punch” in the Occasions catalog – pg.5. and punched them out in different colors, the punch already supplies you with different sizes! I then pealed off the backing from the stampin’ dimensionals and covered it with a piece of the Shimmery White cardstock.

Now, I wanted some type of greeting or verse on the inside so I decided to create my own with the “Crazy About You” stamp set. It contains 33 stamps and will create endless greetings and or verses for you. Here is what I came up with …

I snuck the little hearts out of the “Hello Life” stamp set to complete the look on the inside.

To finish the outside of my card, I added one more heart that I punched our of Rich Razzelberry. The heart comes from the “Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack”.

I wanted the “shaker” part of the card to be the focal point so did not add a greeting or ribbon to the front … just the one little heart. As it turns out, it matches those little hearts from the embossing folder perfectly!

STAMPIN’ SUPPLY LIST …

Thinking of You …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Hope today finds you well.  I was a bit under the weather yesterday and had to cancel my Stampin’ Club meeting.  I don’t do that very often, but found we had 3 members not feeling well either … so a big “Get Well Soon” to all my club members and any of you who are not feeling well either.

My card share today is a simple & pretty card … Thinking of You.  You don’t need a lot of supplies to create this cute card!  I began with my basic “Whisper White” for a base, added another layer of Whisper White – 5″ x 3-3/4″… this is the piece I will stamp my greeting on.

For my square mat (I used Island Indigo) 3″ x 3″ and the Whisper White piece that is punched with the “Pansy” punch measures 2-3/4″ x 2-3/4″.  I centered the white piece in the punch – making sure the white on the sides was even, and then lining the top of the cardstock to the top of the “Patent Pending” on the punch.

I stamped my greeting “thinking of you” in Island Indigo to match my mat.  The greeting comes from the stamp set “Kind and Cozy”.  I find this stamp set very versatile … just ask my club members, we have used it several times.  In fact, we used it last month on our circle flip card, the circle in the set fits so nicely!

Now we can layer and embellish.  I popped up the stamped piece onto the base, the Island Indigo onto the stamped piece, and the punched piece onto the Island Indigo mat.  Yes … I popped them all up!  It looks so cool 🙂

Once I had it all assembled, I added my embellishment.  Today I used the new “Basic Metal Buttons” found in the Occasions Catalog.  Then I threaded the Island Indigo bakers twine through the button and tied a bow (it is double threaded).  And yes, I popped that up with a Stampin’ Dimensional too.

Don’t you just love how simple this pretty little card is?  And you can do it in any color!  Just see for yourself ….

I did this card in Melon Mambo.  I still used the “Basic Metal Buttons” but this time I embellished them a bit more with the medium size pearls.  I also added the smallest pearls to the greeting!

You really could do this in a variety of colors or … Designer Series Paper!  Go experiment and have some fun.

Thanks for stopping by today, and know I’m “Thinking of You”.

Have an awesome day!
