Simply Sunday: Happy Blessings

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Hope you are enjoying your weekend. I promised to share a sneak peek into the Holiday Catalog so I chose the Country Home stamp set to share with you today.

Just like the name says, this stamp set takes you home to the country. For me, it is the “milk can” that takes me back. Back to my grandpa’s farm and running in the fields on those warm summer days, the smell of grandma’s kitchen as she always had something baking in the oven, and the pretty flowers in the garden … all take me back.

I teamed up the images from the Country Home stamp set with the Festive Farmhouse Designer Series paper. It may be located in the Christmas section of the catalog but I thought it was perfect for my card.  It reminds me of Shiplap!! A little Farmhouse Chic 🙂 What do you think … Will I get a thumbs up from Chip and Joanna Gaines?

I stamped the milk can with VersaMark and embossed it with Silver onto the Galvanized Metallic paper. Next I used the Garden Green Watercolor Pencil and the Aqua Painter to “tarnish” my milk can. The flowers were colored with the Stampin’ Blends, I used the Light & Dark Old Olive, Light & Dark Crumb Cake, Light and Dark Pink Pirouette and Light Crushed Curry. The Stampin’ Blends make coloring so easy and it looks sooo good.

You can see the “tarnish” a little better from this angle … You can also see that I popped up both stamped images (these are two separate stamps). I find coloring very relaxing, and while I was relaxed I didn’t mind cutting out these images and adhering them together. It really does remind me of Farmhouse Chic. The greeting completes the card.

There are No Mistakes in Stamping …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I’m going to share a cute card that I created from a “boo boo” that I made during my Color Your Season Class on Thursday night.  On our first card we stamped the floral image and colored it, on the third card we use two of the dies to create some layers …. however, I cut the die shapes out, out of my floral image Oh my …  so I created a form of the eclipse card!!

Can you see the beautiful layering? From a boo-boo it turned out pretty cool … lol.  My card front it popped up with the dimensionals, the second layer is adhered directly to the base of my card and the center is popped up with the Stampin’ Dimensionals as well… giving this card a very unique look.

It was created on Whisper White cardstock and was stamped in Momento Ink using the floral image from the Blended Seasons Stamp Set. I used the New set of Watercolor Pencils to color in my image and the blender pen to give it a more watercolor effect. Our class also used the Stampin’ Blends and Aqua Painters to create cards with this bundle and the new Watercolor Pencils (they are amazing) this whole bundle is amazing!!

Our colors of the Watercolor Pencils were Gorgeous Grape, Night of Navy, Granny Apple Green and Garden Green. Oh yes, and Crushed Curry for our flower centers.  Simply color just like you did as a kid, then use the Blender Pen to soften the look!  After layering the pieces I added the new Glitter Dots to the card to take up just a little of the white space.

See … there really are no mistakes in stamping, just opportunities unfolding!! Hope you enjoyed todays card and that it inspires you to create outside of the box. Or at least, not to throw your boo-boo’s away!!

Simply Sunday: Christmas Season

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

So what did you think of the sneak peeks? Oh my … this is an awesome catalog, and I have one coming to you! I’m trying to wait patiently for my pre-order to come … then I can play!  Meanwhile ~ We have the exciting “Share Your Season” Promotion and I have another beautiful card to share with you today!!

Today’s card celebrates the Christmas season (Thursday I shared my Autumn card using the watercolor pencils and blender pen). It’s time to share how the fabulous Stampin’ Blends markers work with this stamp set and coordinating framelit dies.

I began with the middle sized frame in the die set and cut it out of Whisper White. I then stamped the spray of Holly near the bottom (fits right in) then turned it 180 and stamped it again.  When I colored the leaves I started with the Old Olive Light first then just added a dash of the Old Olive dark on the center line of the leaf and then went back over with the Light to blend it in.

A touch of Real Red on the holly berries and Daffodil Delight on the sprigs and your coloring is complete! I added just a hint of the Wink of Stella to give it a little glitz.

The card base is Old Olive cardstock and I created a focal point with a swatch of 3″ x 4 1/4″ Under the Mistletoe Designer Series paper and a 3 1/4″ x 4 1/4″ Real Red mat. Then our greeting was simply popped up onto the card and your done!! Simple and Sweet … no hassle, just a fun and easy coloring project.

Autumn Card with Watercolor Pencils …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

We are past the halfway point of the week and on the road to the weekend!!  Wooo Hoo! I can’t wait to share this beautiful card with you today … I created this card for my Stars Team meeting this past Saturday to highlight the beautiful Color of Seasons …

Because Stampin’ Up! is also offering a brand new set of Watercolor Pencils as a coordination product with this bundle I just had to play!! Who doesn’t love the ease of the Watercolor pencils when you want several different colors on your Autumn leaves?

Well … let me just show you, a picture is worth a thousand words (or should I say oooooh and aaaaah!!)

I stamped the images with the Momento Ink and began with the Garden Green Watercolor pencil. I used it along the vein in the center of the leaves, then I just colored in some Crushed Curry, then some Cajun Craze and finally a little Cherry Cobbler near the edges.  Each leave was a little different.

Once I was done with the Watercolor Pencils … I used my blender pen to move and blend the color.  Wow … the pencils are definitely artist quality pencils, they blend so easily and looked beautiful in spots where I hardly blended at all!

I did have to fussy cut my leaves out, but I must say that while sitting around the table with a group of friends (my Stars Team members) and just chatting & catching up, before we knew it, they were all cut out!!

After that we added just a touch of the Wink of Stella … and we did that because it really brought together the colored leaves and the die cut leaf. (The die comes with the bundle!)

Our greeting comes from the Blended Seasons Stamp Set (see below) and was punched out using the Pretty Label punch! Popped it up with the Stampin’ Dimensionals and the leaves too. The background was done with the Pinewood Planks Embossing Folder … the autumn leaves look so good against it!!

Simply Sunday … Christmas in July

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Yesterday I shared the specials that will be gone at the end of July and the new ones that will be starting in August … so today I want to share a beautiful card that marries two of them together!  I’m using the Blended Seasons bundle from the Color Your Season Limited Time promotions with the Designer Series Paper.

We made this card at my Star’s Team meeting yesterday along with a fall card from the same bundle … plus swapping with the other ladies who attended. It was a wonderful day reconnecting, fun, stamping and introducing new members.

I began with the “Under the Mistletoe” Designer Series paper (currently on sale) and teamed it up with the Blended Seasons Stamp Set in which I used the Holly Spray and the Merry Christmas Greeting.  I used the “second” of the three shaped dies to cut Whisper White.  These dies have the stitching of “both” sides of the cut!! So you can use the shape and the cut out for your cardmaking.

Once the shape is cut out, I stamped the holly spray on the top and bottom … it fits in there so nice!!

We then used the Stampin’ Blends to color our holly.  We used the coordinating Old Olive Stampin’ Blends along with the Cherry Cobbler and Daffodil Delight. They works so nicely with this bundle.  You will also love the Watercolor Pencils in the new colors. Either one you use … a touch of Stella won’t hurt!!

I stamped the greeting onto a strip of Real Red cardstock and punched the ends with the Triple Banner punch. The entire piece was popped up and the completes my Christmas in July card for today!
