So Very Vellum Easter Blessings Card …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Back today with the third card from the So Very Vellum Designer Series paper … Our last vellum color is “Purple Posy”. This is really pretty vellum and it’s perfect for an Easter card which I made for you today.

I am also featuring the March 2020 Paper Pumpkin as well.  There are so many fun and pretty elements in this kit that the ideas were just coming to me. I have yet another set of boots, and I picked some pretty flowers from the elements to place into them …

I could not resist adding these two together.  I took the Purple Posy ink and put a bit on the tip of a Q-Tip and added some color over the flower on the right to match up with the Purple Posy Vellum better.  It was close, but now it really coordinates nicely.

The Oval background was cut with the largest oval from the Stitched Shapes Dies. This really creates a focal point to the card.  I added the “Easter Blessings” greeting  which comes from teh Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set.  It was stamped on a scrap piece of paper and then I simply cut it to create a banner.

The banner draws your eye away from the focal point and right to our cute little bunny.  The bunny was also an element from the kit.  I added a touch of the Wink of Stella to our bunnies ears and to the flowers. It doesn’t really show on the picture but it will raise an eyebrow of the recipient of this card!

Since we are abiding by the “stay at home” / “shelter in place” orders and practicing social distancing if we have to go out … Lets have some fun and get to know each other a little better!! Lets take a break from what’s going on in the world and make a card or two. First of all, crafting is know to reduce stress levels, and I’d like to see what you’ve been up to, so send me your card and I’ll post it on this blog!! Share a little info about the card and maybe about yourself.  Then …

You can send your cards to:

Linda Schnabel   2019 Miller Street  West Bend, WI 53095

Join me … send in your card and I’ll feature it right here on my blog. We have to abide to the “social distancing” but lets create some social interaction and fun.  We can do this stampers!!  Don’t forget … I’ll send you one back, and who doesn’t want a beautiful card in the mail.

Here’s a list of the supplies I used for today’s card.  Remember … The Paper Pumpkin subscriptions listed below qualify your for a minimum of one Sale-a-bration item. The longer the subscription the more Sale-a-bration items you can earn.  Don’t forget that Sale-a-bration ends March 31st!

Thanks so much for hanging out with me today. Hope you were inspired by my card and you go into your stamp room and start creating!  Don’t forget to send me one!!

Have an awesome day!!  Linda

We’re in this Together Cards …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I’d like to share two cards with you!!  First let me start with some concerns about sharing / mailing our cards. Based on the information I have found … the virus only lasts 24 hours on cardboard (paper) yet they have found no evidence to the virus transferring by mail.

I prefer to play it safe, I have cleaned my supplies with beach water and / or sanitizer, and as you saw in my picture yesterday, my hand sanitizer is right on my work station.  If you have a cough or feel sick, I would suggest refraining from sending cards … which if you don’t feel good, is that last thing you feel like doing! Hopefully you get one that will cheer you up!

My first card … reflects the sentiment of yesterday.  I used the sentiment from the “Good Morning Magnolia” stamp set which was inside my card yesterday, is now the front of my card today ….

I used the pretty little boots filled with flowers from the March 2020 Paper Pumpkin to create my card.  The background is the “So Very Vellum” Specialty Designer Series paper that is a FREE product you can earn during Sale-a-bration. I have three cards that will feature the Vellum … on design for each color in the package.

The boot card features the “Pool Party Vellum” which really makes the boots “pop”.  The texture on the Vellum is already there so no need to pull out your BigShot for that.  The used a left-over die cut from the Stitched Rectangle dies. The cute little hearts come from the Paper Pumpkin kit and were enhanced with our Wink of Stella and popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Here are the supplies that I used for today’s cards. Paper Pumpkin is a great option for stamping while we have to be apart 😦  Plus … when purchasing the any of the Subscriptions listed below … you qualify for FREE Sale-a-bration items!

Here are the original designs … Mine are all alternatives!

My second card uses more boots … and features the “Soft Sea Foam” Vellum.  These boots come from the strip of boots that are used for the middle card, and are left over from the card I made yesterday.

I cut down the front of the note card enclosed in the kit and cut it in half … it represents the distance we have to keep between us at this time, but the sentiment (also included in this kit) shows that we are all in this together … and we will over come this ❤  Not just as a nation … but as a planet. Maybe this is God’s way of bringing us all together.

I have to mention that I used the Tombo All Purpose Glue to attach the Vellum onto all my cards.  I apply it lightly, over the lines of the embossed design and then smooth it out with my finger or a sponge dauber.  By doing it this way … you won’t get wrinkles from a heavy glue, and it won’t show up under your vellum 🙂

I have one more of the vellum colors “Purple Posy” to share with you tomorrow!! Meet you back here then.

Feel free to LIKE my Facebook page as well. I’m going to be sharing stamping tips and more. AND … I’m going to try a FACEBOOK LIVE … I will let you know when that is going to happen so you can join me!!

Thank You and Have a beautiful Sunday … Stay safe!

Thinking of You Card: No Matter the Weather

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Sorry for the delay in posting … with everything that has been happening in the world, my head is spinning since I still have to be a work and set up for Easter. Anyhow … I have a cute card to share with you today that reflects the times and is perfect for connecting with a friend.

Let me start by inviting into my stampin’ studio and see how I begin my creative process.  I’m starting with the “No Matter the Weather” Paper Pumpkin kit …

I want to be “socially responsible” so my hand sanitizer is near because I plan on sending my cards out!!  I also wanted to send a message with this card, and I am most definitely “Thinking of You” my stamping friends. These times are unprecedented and I want to do my share to ease peoples nerves (including my own)… stamping does that for me.

Because I want to make more that one card with this design, I pulled out my Stamparatus ….

I like to place my stamps onto my cardstock / paper pumpkin card and then drop the clear plate over the stamps and “pick them up”.  Now … I know the basic placement of my stamps, however … I want to make sure my greeting are “straight” so I use the grid lines on the plate to align my stamps to perfection!

Once the stamps are exactly where you want them, ink up the images and drop down the plate onto your cardstock and use your fingers to press the plate above your stamps to transfer the ink.  Nice thing is … if you want more coverage (darker ink) then you just re-ink your images and drop the plate again! It will stamp directly onto the same spot. Awesome right!!

Once my stamping is complete, I will but cutting my note card in half and then trimming about 1/4″ off the side.

Here are the measurements to the cardstock … You Paper Pumpkin will measure 4-3/4″ x 3-1/2″

Old Olive base: 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″,  Night of Navy: 2 pieces at 5″ x 3-1/2″

The back of the Paper Pumpkin which you stamped with your sentiment will go on the inside of your card (that is also trimmed down) and the Night of Navy mat will go behind it.  I chose the Old Olive so the “boots” would pop and the Night of Navy because it compliments the jeans!

There are a whole bunch of boots in the kit but because I am creating an alternative to the original projects, which are really cute by the way, that I will have more supplies to play with!!  Keep an eye out, I’ll have more to share.

Although we cannot gather in groups for a while, we can still reach out and share with friends and family.  As the card states, we WILL get through this together, for that I am sure, as long as we all practice social distancing and as I call it #socialresponsibility.

Let’s take care of each other … we just need to be a bit more creative.  And as stampers, that’s what we do best!!  Have yourself a wonderful day, I’ll be back tomorrow to share more with you.

Stampin’ Hugs, Linda

February 2020’s Paper Pumpkin Alternative Project …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Yesterday I shared the February 2020’s Paper Pumpkin kit, today I’d like to share an alternative project with you.

I changed up the card you see on the right of the picture which includes some color already on our white piece.  As in the instructions … I stamped the floral image on top with the Rocco Rose ink that was included in my kit.  I then used a sponge dauber to add more color to my flower …

I love the spritz of color that is on the pre-made piece but I just wanted to flower to pop off the page, and that is why I added the extra ink.  Instead of placing the die cut banner across my flower, I actually cut my banner into two pieces and stamped “birthday onto the one piece and attached it with the dimensionals (also included in the kit).

The banner and the beautiful “wishes” are done in Rose Gold and are so stunning …

the picture does not do the Rose Gold justice.  I added the sequins onto the front to tie in the pink throughout the card.  A simple change but very dramatic. I like the beautiful rose exposed … What do you think?

Do you like the Original Design … Or do you like the Rose exposed?  I would love to hear your thoughts.

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Well … I did it this time!  On Tuesday night I had a meeting at work and we decided to walk to the meeting place and back, just about the time I got back to my car, my knee gave out. Woooh … haven’t felt that much pain since I herniated the disc in my back!

I actually went to the doctor and he put me on bed rest (which means I can’t get into my stamping room!!) and steroids. He believes it’s arthritis and that I had a flair up.  So … please be patient with me while I work through this. I’m going to do my best to keep you informed through my posts.

Meanwhile, Paper Pumpkin’s first kit of 2020 is all about L-O-V-E. My Alternatives for Something for Everything

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

How is your holiday season going? Are you back to work … taking time off, or is life back to normal? I’m kind of caught in the middle, I’ve been back to work but I’m still not sure what day it is!! lol

Today I’d like to share three alternative projects to the December’s “Something for Everything” Paper Pumpkin kit. I am loving the 13 sentiments are included in this kit, and the backgrounds are so neutral that you are able to use any of the 13!!

Here are the cards as done per the instructions …

Since you had to wait an extra day for my sample … I’ve decided to share all three of them with you today. My first card used the base “as is” however I took the olive circle from the second card to pop my sentiment … then I added the cute flowers (these are all die cut adhesive… so it’s easy to assemble)

I also used the gold foliage from the third card (as shown above). The last step was adding the Rhinestones to my flowers and around the card.

The second card, which is the floral base … I used the hexagon shape from the third card, the gold foliage from the second, and the big flowers from the first card to create my bouquet. To really make it pop… I added a Terracotta Tile mat behind it.

Then I added my banner, stamped my sentiment in the Terracotta, and added a few of those cute little flowers!

My last card I did a bit of cutting … first, I cut the card base in half because the front have the patterns and backs of all the cards have a solid color. Once cut in half, I trimmed down the solid piece to 4″ x 5-1/4″ … then I centered my gold adhesive embellishment onto the solid piece and stuck it down.

Then I cut the image out, leaving a nice base. This technique is something I always taught my scrapbookers … paper saving! I also share it with my card makers, no need to waste good cardstock.  The patterned piece was cut to 3-3/4″ x 5″ so you could see the solid piece underneath, creating beautiful layers.

I kept this card front a bit on the simple side, but it’s pretty!

Once all my layers were done, I stamped my sentiment onto the gold edge banner … it’s actually the Terracotta Tile ink, but it is stamped off to make it a bit lighter to compliment the flowers.  I added three of them, popping the upper right-hand one up and then adding the bling to them. Sweet -n- simple.

O Christmas Tree

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I have another alternative ideas for the Winter Gift / November 2019 Paper Pumpkin. I’ve got to say “WOW” … yesterday’s alternative project made a big hit on Pinterest.  Today I’m sharing the “tree” and have it all decked out for you.

The tag that the tree lays against comes in the kit, I did however stamp it with the cute little snowflakes that are part of the Winter Gifts stamp set.  I cut a background piece in Whisper White and sponged it with Pool Party and then stamped it again with the snowflakes.

I added three strips of ribbon to my background to add some texture and to bring in the color of the tree throughout the card.  These are mounted onto Real Red which coordinates with the Red Rhinestones I used to decorate it.  To add a bit more sparkle, I used the Iced Stampin’ Glitter from the Holiday catalog.

I have several more ideas that I will be sharing with my Paper Pumpkin Pals (PP subscribers with me) using the sled, deer, etc. If you subscribe to Paper Pumpkin through me, I can send you the link to these samples as well as sharing alternative ideas with you when future kits come.

Thanks for stopping by today, I hope your day is a good one.

Simply Sunday: Winter Gifts

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Hope this blog post finds you well this Sunday. Today I’d like to share with you a pretty card that I created using the contents of the November 2019 Paper Pumpkin kit. Yesterday I shared with you a video on how to create the projects in the kit, and here are the finished projects …

These are so cute and you could actually face the front of a card with these if you are not into tags, or you can take the many, many pieces from the kit and create your own. That is what I’m sharing today, an alternative to the kit …

I took the tag from the “cardinal” and added the snowflakes.  The greeting is included in the set of stamps that comes with your Paper Pumpkin. That is one of the highlights of getting Paper Pumpkin … even after you’ve used all the goodies inside, you have a wonderful stamp set to use over and over again.

The snow flakes have two sides and I chose the side with the silver imprint to add a little sparkle and shine to my card …

The sparkle comes from the self-adhesive sequins that are also included in the kit … they are silver (they also have an iridescent white pack included too) and I love the way the silver sequins picks up the Pool Party cardstock.  Basically, that is all I added to this card that was not in the kit, a Whisper White base and a piece 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Pool Party.

It’s fun to create with these kits, and it’s even more fun to do them with a friend. I send out Paper Pumpkin Nights to my subscribers periodically to work on our kits! Wanna join us?

Thanks so much for sharing a part of your Sunday with me, I’ll see you tomorrow with a wonderful Christmas Card I’ve been waiting to share with you.

Have a beautiful day ~
