Thinking of You Card: No Matter the Weather

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Sorry for the delay in posting … with everything that has been happening in the world, my head is spinning since I still have to be a work and set up for Easter. Anyhow … I have a cute card to share with you today that reflects the times and is perfect for connecting with a friend.

Let me start by inviting into my stampin’ studio and see how I begin my creative process.  I’m starting with the “No Matter the Weather” Paper Pumpkin kit …

I want to be “socially responsible” so my hand sanitizer is near because I plan on sending my cards out!!  I also wanted to send a message with this card, and I am most definitely “Thinking of You” my stamping friends. These times are unprecedented and I want to do my share to ease peoples nerves (including my own)… stamping does that for me.

Because I want to make more that one card with this design, I pulled out my Stamparatus ….

I like to place my stamps onto my cardstock / paper pumpkin card and then drop the clear plate over the stamps and “pick them up”.  Now … I know the basic placement of my stamps, however … I want to make sure my greeting are “straight” so I use the grid lines on the plate to align my stamps to perfection!

Once the stamps are exactly where you want them, ink up the images and drop down the plate onto your cardstock and use your fingers to press the plate above your stamps to transfer the ink.  Nice thing is … if you want more coverage (darker ink) then you just re-ink your images and drop the plate again! It will stamp directly onto the same spot. Awesome right!!

Once my stamping is complete, I will but cutting my note card in half and then trimming about 1/4″ off the side.

Here are the measurements to the cardstock … You Paper Pumpkin will measure 4-3/4″ x 3-1/2″

Old Olive base: 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″,  Night of Navy: 2 pieces at 5″ x 3-1/2″

The back of the Paper Pumpkin which you stamped with your sentiment will go on the inside of your card (that is also trimmed down) and the Night of Navy mat will go behind it.  I chose the Old Olive so the “boots” would pop and the Night of Navy because it compliments the jeans!

There are a whole bunch of boots in the kit but because I am creating an alternative to the original projects, which are really cute by the way, that I will have more supplies to play with!!  Keep an eye out, I’ll have more to share.

Although we cannot gather in groups for a while, we can still reach out and share with friends and family.  As the card states, we WILL get through this together, for that I am sure, as long as we all practice social distancing and as I call it #socialresponsibility.

Let’s take care of each other … we just need to be a bit more creative.  And as stampers, that’s what we do best!!  Have yourself a wonderful day, I’ll be back tomorrow to share more with you.

Stampin’ Hugs, Linda
