Throwback Thursday: You’re Always On My Mind Card …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Here today with a sweet card that I created using the Under My Umbrella stamp set and our March 2020 “No Matter the Weather” Paper Pumpkin.  I knew from the beginning that I wanted to pair up the boots with the Umbrella …

I choose the pink and combined it with Smoky Slate … so pretty together.  My stripped background paper is actually the inside of the envelope from my Paper Pumpkin kit.  I needed another color to go between my boots and my background so I went with Whisper White … it just seemed to “bright” so I toned it down my using my Aqua Painter to color wash the Smoky Slate and creating a fun background for my boots!

The umbrella was stamped with Smoky Slate onto the left over paper from the envelope, and then punched with the coordinating umbrella punch.  Both of these were popped up onto the die cut piece.  The die cut comes from the Stitched so Sweetly dies.  The greeting sentiment is from the Under My Umbrella stamp set and was stamped with the Smoky Slate and also die cut from the Stitched to Sweetly dies.

Supply List

My pretty little bouquet of flowers you should recognize from the Easter Card I did earlier this week … these and the heart come from the No Matter the Weather Paper Pumpkin kit.  Both are kissed with a little sparkle from our Wink of Stella pen.  Did you notice the sweet little raindrops?  They also come from the Paper Pumpkin kit.

I love combining the Under my Umbrella bundle with the No Matter the Weather Paper Pumpkin kit…. it expands the creativity level of the kit and the contents of the kit are so much fun to use with the stamp set and punch.

Thank you for hanging out with me today. Hope this was a little escape for a while and inspires you to hang out in your stamp room.

Stay safe, healthy and have a great day.  Linda

April Showers & May Flowers …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

As the saying goes “April Showers brings May Flowers” … certainly true in our gardens! Today’s card has both, a hint of showers with a bouquet of flowers! I’m using another pattern from the beautiful Tropical Oasis designer paper and teaming it up with the sweet little boots from the March Paper Pumpkin kit.

Before I get started … I also want to let you in on some amazing information! First, the May Paper Pumpkin kit is going to include the new “2020-2022 In-Colors”!! I’m so excited that you will get your hands on the new in-colors before they are released in the upcoming new Annual Catalog!!

Second bit of information and just as exciting is … Stampin’ Up! has updated the Clearance Rack!! There are some amazing new items (I’m actually purchasing some to create a fun class!). I’ve posted some of my favorites on my Linda’s Stampin’ Escape Facebook page and I’ll have some with card samples here for you tomorrow!!

Like yesterday’s Gift Card Holders, today’s card was recreated from a “card pack” I had sitting around.  Here is the original card ….

Did you notice the pretty paper on this card?  You can see it above on the Clearance Rack listing.  It is the Wrapped in Plaid Designer Paper.  It is on sale right now!! They’ve just added to the Clearance Rack.

Today’s card uses the left over card kit and the Tropical Oasis designer paper I had left over from yesterday’s card!!  I try not to let anything go to waste!  I’ve also incorporated the two stamp set from last months Paper Pumpkin kit.  The color pallet was inspired from this pair of rain boots …

I bought these boots for my sister Ruthie as she battled Pancreatic Cancer.  The boots represent a story between sisters .  When I was 9 and Ruth was 12, we were walking home from school in a terrible snow storm.  I was little first grader, crying, and my feet were cold … I had a hole in my boots.  My sister Ruthie gave me her boots!! So … as she bravely fought her battle against cancer, I brought her the boots and told her that I was there for her, and it was her turn to walk in my boots She would not walk alone.

Although my sister Ruthie was capable of amazing things, she lost her battle to Pancreatic Cancer 7 years ago.  It’s amazing how a stamp set can make such a heart connection. I’m sure you have a stamp set that pulls on your heart strings as well. These cute little boots were fun and easy to color!  I love that Paper Pumpkin gives you exclusive stamp sets (these are very special to me). The little bit of bling added to this card are from the Noble Peacock Rhinestones … the add the perfect touch!

Wow … this post is not only full of information but a story too!  I hope I didn’t overwhelm you. I’m here to answer any questions  you may have on the Clearance Rack, Paper Pumpkin or switching up my cards.

Thank you for hanging out with me today. I’ll meet you back here tomorrow and show you some of my Clearance Rack favorites!

Have a wonderful Wednesday ~

Simply Sunday: No Matter the Weather Cards …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I’d like to share several cards that I created using the March 2020 Paper Pumpkin kit!!  I must say this is a fun one to play with, and REFILLS are now available, however you do have to be a Paper Pumpkin subscriber to order them.  I also have a fun tip to share with you.

First let me share what the cards look like in the kit … My cards are all alternatives to the kit. I like to show what you can do with it besides how they were designed.  This stretches your kit out even further. The stamps you get in your kit means you have endless stamping!

My first card is simple … a little cutting and you have created a full sized card.  The kit is note size card and envelopes, and I just prefer the regular A2 size. Besides, this will really stretch out my kit, so follow along and see what you can do!  To view the original post for this card CLICK HERE.

My second card … uses the sentiment from the “Good Morning Magnolia” stamp set and the pre-cut boots and hearts that come with the kit.  Pretty simple right?  For the background I used the So Very Vellum cardstock that is FREE through the Sale-a-Bration catalog.

My next card uses more boots … and features the “Soft Sea Foam” Vellum.  These boots come from the strip of boots that are used for the middle card, I just cut them apart so I could create even more cards. We are practicing “Social Distancing” while we support each other.  Click HERE to view the original post for these two cards.

I cut apart the base of one of the note cards to create this one … The die cut circle and blue banner are elements included in the Paper Pumpkin kit, as is the sentiment I used on this card.  Fitting for our current situation, don’t you think?

Here are the supplies that I used for today’s cards. Paper Pumpkin is a great option for stamping while we have to be apart 😦  Plus … when purchasing the any of the Subscriptions listed below … you qualify for FREE Sale-a-bration items!

The next card highlights more of the die cuts from the kit  … The background is the Purple Posy So Very Vellum which creates the background for our card.  From the Paper Pumpkin kit, I have yet another set of boots, and I picked some pretty flowers from the elements to place into them. Our cute bunny helps to create the perfect Easter Card …

The Oval background was cut with the largest oval from the Stitched Shapes Dies. This really creates a focal point to the card. I added the “Easter Blessings” greeting which comes from teh Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set. It was stamped on a scrap piece of paper and then I simply cut it to create a banner. You can CLICK HERE to view all the details in the original post.

Here are the benefits of purchasing Paper Pumpkins during Sale-A-Bration: You can earn free product during Sale-A-Bration since your order is over $50.00. Once your purchase is complete, a special code is emailed to you to use at http://www.paperpumpkin.com. If you are an already existing customer this prepaid code will override your credit card payment. How awesome is that?

  • 3-month prepaid subscription item (#137859) = $63
  • 6 month prepaid subscription item (#137860) = $114
  • 12-month prepaid subscription item (#137861) = $220

My final card includes a fun stamping tip ….

On my final card I combined the Under My Umbrella Bundle from the Spring Mini Catalog and our March 2020 “No Matter the Weather” Paper Pumpkin. I used the pink envelope for my background and combined it with Smoky Slate … so pretty together.

View the original post by CLICKING HERE.

It is truly amazing that you can create such different styles of cards with our Paper Pumpkin kit.  The versatility is as big as your imagination.  And if you don’t deem “yourself” creative, well that is why I share alternative ideas with you!  You can find even more on Pinterest!

You’re Always On My Mind Card …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Here today with a sweet card that I created using the Under My Umbrella Bundle from the Spring Mini Catalog and our March 2020 “No Matter the Weather” Paper Pumpkin.  I knew from the beginning that I wanted to pair up the boots with the Umbrella … I had a choice of the “pink” or the “green” boots that were left over from my other cards.

So Very Vellum Easter Blessings Card …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Back today with the third card from the So Very Vellum Designer Series paper … Our last vellum color is “Purple Posy”. This is really pretty vellum and it’s perfect for an Easter card which I made for you today.

I am also featuring the March 2020 Paper Pumpkin as well.  There are so many fun and pretty elements in this kit that the ideas were just coming to me. I have yet another set of boots, and I picked some pretty flowers from the elements to place into them …

I could not resist adding these two together.  I took the Purple Posy ink and put a bit on the tip of a Q-Tip and added some color over the flower on the right to match up with the Purple Posy Vellum better.  It was close, but now it really coordinates nicely.

The banner draws your eye away from the focal point and right to our cute little bunny.  The bunny was also an element from the kit.  I added a touch of the Wink of Stella to our bunnies ears and to the flowers. It doesn’t really show on the picture but it will raise an eyebrow of the recipient of this card!

Since we are abiding by the “stay at home” / “shelter in place” orders and practicing social distancing if we have to go out … Lets have some fun and get to know each other a little better!! Lets take a break from what’s going on in the world and make a card or two. First of all, crafting is know to reduce stress levels, and I’d like to see what you’ve been up to, so send me your card and I’ll post it on this blog!! Share a little info about the card and maybe about yourself.  Then …

You can send your cards to:

Linda Schnabel   2019 Miller Street  West Bend, WI 53095

Join me … send in your card and I’ll feature it right here on my blog. We have to abide to the “social distancing” but lets create some social interaction and fun.  We can do this stampers!!  Don’t forget … I’ll send you one back, and who doesn’t want a beautiful card in the mail.

Here’s a list of the supplies I used for today’s card.  Remember … The Paper Pumpkin subscriptions listed below qualify your for a minimum of one Sale-a-bration item. The longer the subscription the more Sale-a-bration items you can earn.  Don’t forget that Sale-a-bration ends March 31st!

Thanks so much for hanging out with me today. Hope you were inspired by my card and you go into your stamp room and start creating!  Don’t forget to send me one!!

Have an awesome day!!  Linda

We’re in this Together Cards …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I’d like to share two cards with you!!  First let me start with some concerns about sharing / mailing our cards. Based on the information I have found … the virus only lasts 24 hours on cardboard (paper) yet they have found no evidence to the virus transferring by mail.

I prefer to play it safe, I have cleaned my supplies with beach water and / or sanitizer, and as you saw in my picture yesterday, my hand sanitizer is right on my work station.  If you have a cough or feel sick, I would suggest refraining from sending cards … which if you don’t feel good, is that last thing you feel like doing! Hopefully you get one that will cheer you up!

My first card … reflects the sentiment of yesterday.  I used the sentiment from the “Good Morning Magnolia” stamp set which was inside my card yesterday, is now the front of my card today ….

I used the pretty little boots filled with flowers from the March 2020 Paper Pumpkin to create my card.  The background is the “So Very Vellum” Specialty Designer Series paper that is a FREE product you can earn during Sale-a-bration. I have three cards that will feature the Vellum … on design for each color in the package.

The boot card features the “Pool Party Vellum” which really makes the boots “pop”.  The texture on the Vellum is already there so no need to pull out your BigShot for that.  The used a left-over die cut from the Stitched Rectangle dies. The cute little hearts come from the Paper Pumpkin kit and were enhanced with our Wink of Stella and popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Here are the supplies that I used for today’s cards. Paper Pumpkin is a great option for stamping while we have to be apart 😦  Plus … when purchasing the any of the Subscriptions listed below … you qualify for FREE Sale-a-bration items!

Here are the original designs … Mine are all alternatives!

My second card uses more boots … and features the “Soft Sea Foam” Vellum.  These boots come from the strip of boots that are used for the middle card, and are left over from the card I made yesterday.

I cut down the front of the note card enclosed in the kit and cut it in half … it represents the distance we have to keep between us at this time, but the sentiment (also included in this kit) shows that we are all in this together … and we will over come this ❤  Not just as a nation … but as a planet. Maybe this is God’s way of bringing us all together.

I have to mention that I used the Tombo All Purpose Glue to attach the Vellum onto all my cards.  I apply it lightly, over the lines of the embossed design and then smooth it out with my finger or a sponge dauber.  By doing it this way … you won’t get wrinkles from a heavy glue, and it won’t show up under your vellum 🙂

I have one more of the vellum colors “Purple Posy” to share with you tomorrow!! Meet you back here then.

Feel free to LIKE my Facebook page as well. I’m going to be sharing stamping tips and more. AND … I’m going to try a FACEBOOK LIVE … I will let you know when that is going to happen so you can join me!!

Thank You and Have a beautiful Sunday … Stay safe!

Thinking of You Card: No Matter the Weather

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Sorry for the delay in posting … with everything that has been happening in the world, my head is spinning since I still have to be a work and set up for Easter. Anyhow … I have a cute card to share with you today that reflects the times and is perfect for connecting with a friend.

Let me start by inviting into my stampin’ studio and see how I begin my creative process.  I’m starting with the “No Matter the Weather” Paper Pumpkin kit …

I want to be “socially responsible” so my hand sanitizer is near because I plan on sending my cards out!!  I also wanted to send a message with this card, and I am most definitely “Thinking of You” my stamping friends. These times are unprecedented and I want to do my share to ease peoples nerves (including my own)… stamping does that for me.

Because I want to make more that one card with this design, I pulled out my Stamparatus ….

I like to place my stamps onto my cardstock / paper pumpkin card and then drop the clear plate over the stamps and “pick them up”.  Now … I know the basic placement of my stamps, however … I want to make sure my greeting are “straight” so I use the grid lines on the plate to align my stamps to perfection!

Once the stamps are exactly where you want them, ink up the images and drop down the plate onto your cardstock and use your fingers to press the plate above your stamps to transfer the ink.  Nice thing is … if you want more coverage (darker ink) then you just re-ink your images and drop the plate again! It will stamp directly onto the same spot. Awesome right!!

Once my stamping is complete, I will but cutting my note card in half and then trimming about 1/4″ off the side.

Here are the measurements to the cardstock … You Paper Pumpkin will measure 4-3/4″ x 3-1/2″

Old Olive base: 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″,  Night of Navy: 2 pieces at 5″ x 3-1/2″

The back of the Paper Pumpkin which you stamped with your sentiment will go on the inside of your card (that is also trimmed down) and the Night of Navy mat will go behind it.  I chose the Old Olive so the “boots” would pop and the Night of Navy because it compliments the jeans!

There are a whole bunch of boots in the kit but because I am creating an alternative to the original projects, which are really cute by the way, that I will have more supplies to play with!!  Keep an eye out, I’ll have more to share.

Although we cannot gather in groups for a while, we can still reach out and share with friends and family.  As the card states, we WILL get through this together, for that I am sure, as long as we all practice social distancing and as I call it #socialresponsibility.

Let’s take care of each other … we just need to be a bit more creative.  And as stampers, that’s what we do best!!  Have yourself a wonderful day, I’ll be back tomorrow to share more with you.

Stampin’ Hugs, Linda
