Fast -n- Furious Friday 2

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Today is my second installment of Fast -n- Furious Fridays!  Quick and easy cards for when we need a card fast!

I’m not sure if you can get any simpler than today’s card share, except to stamp a greeting onto a piece of cardstock.  However, I choose to use the beautiful “Sweet Sorbet” Designer Series paper, which I got free with my Sale-a-bration order.  There is still a week left for you to get yours too.

000_0898

I love using designer paper when I’m in a hurry to make a card because the color and design is already there.  My base card is Whisper White … so I added a simple but pretty bow using the white taffeta ribbon.

My greeting comes from the stamp set “Peaceful Petals” which I have been using in my Technique clubs and my Star’s (downline) meetings.  You could use any greeting … thus “Fast -n- Furious!”

000_0899

I hope you enjoyed today’s quick and easy card.  Remember, you can use any designer paper, and any greeting to make a lot of cards in no time at all.

Thank you for stopping by today.

Have a wonderful weekend ~

My Guest Stamper … Cindy S.

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Ohhhhh … it was so nice to see sunshine and almost 50 degree’s yesterday, but that is gone.  Hope spring is coming soon.  But until then, I have a cute card I would like to share with you today.  The card was created by one of my Star’s group members, Cindy Schneider.

000_0882

I love how she began her card with the Soft Sky … still thinkin’ spring, and then added that awesome pop of color with her banners!  The banners were created using the ” Polka Dot Parade” Designer Series Paper and the “Banner Framelit Dies”.  I have these too and just love them … with just a simple roll through the BigShot, you have a perfect banner!

The banners were tied together (lol) with the “Whisper White 3/8″ Taffeta Ribbon”.  Here is another “must have” in your stampin’ supplies.  I just showed my Star’s how to die their ribbon.  What ever color marker you have … you can have that color ribbon, and just from a purchase of a simple white ribbon.  Oh yes, and it ties beautifully.

000_0884

I was so happy to see that Cindy had utilized the “See Ya Later” stamp set from our Sale-a-Bration catalog.  It is so cute, and I have only gotten to use it once.  This is one of the items you can earn free during Sale-a-bration, which by the way, only goes through March 31st.  Let me know if you need anything.

Hope you enjoyed Cindy’s card share as much as I did, and grateful that she allowed me to post her design.  Below is a list of all the ingredients used for this card.  You can click on the image for more details or to begin shopping.

Thanks for coming over to my blog today…

Have an awesome weekend!

PLEASE Remember to qualify for the FREE Sale-a-bration item “See Ya Later” … you must have a purchase of $50 or more before Shippping & Taxes.

Fast and Furious … Masculine Card

Hello Ladies, Gentlemen and Stampin’ Friends!

A happy Friday to you all.  I am excited to announce that I’ve come up with another themed weekday … Fast and Furious Fridays.  Each Friday I will post a simple to make card that you can easily copy and reproduce at the speed of light.  Well… maybe not that fast, but fast.

My card share today is a masculine card.  So simple and most designer papers will fit the bill (except maybe flowers… those, not so much).  Today I used the Sweet Sorbet, which is a FREE item in the Sale-a-Bration Catalog.  It measures 4″ x 5-1/4″ … that will leave a nice border around the edge, exposing the Basic Black card base.

000_0880

We women like our bling, but men … they like hardware, so I used the brads to create the effect that the greeting was bolted down.  I then added some straps – created with the Word Window punch, and bolted them down too!  You could give your brads a more rustic look by pounding them up a bit with a small hammer!

000_0876

My “Happy Birthday” greeting is great for men or women and has that wonderful nostalgic look.  The stamp set is Perfectly Penned and can be found on page 95 of the big Stampin’ Up! catalog or you an click on the link below.

That’s it … I hope you enjoyed my first Fast and Furious Friday!  This doesn’t mean that I would have quick & easy cards on other days, but I’m reserving Friday for our fast and furious… you know the weekend is coming up and we want to get our cards done quick.

Thank you from dropping in today and …

Have an awesome weekend!

Here’s what you need to recreate this card … then another look at the card itself.

FYI … Sale-a-Bration will end March 31st.  Please let me know if you need any help with your Sale-a-bration order.

Again, have an awesome weekend.

Peek-a-boo Bigz Die Card…

Hello my Stampin’ Friends,

How are you this fine Wednesday?  I am excited to share a fun card with you today.  Yesterday I showed you the Weekly Deals, and one of the items on the list was the “Peek-a-Boo Die” – so I want to show you what I came up with last night….

000_0862

Do you recognize the designer paper?  Well actually, it’s the “Good as Gold” Sale-a-bration Card Kit.  I used it because it’s a bit thicker than the designer paper and because I love the gold dots in the design!

I chose the frame I wanted to use on my card and then ran the “Good as Gold” through the BigShot.  Now I have my frame with a Peek-a-boo Window!  Did you know … You can use the window as a pull down or pull up … how fun is that!  It just depends on how you place it onto your card.

000_0866

I then cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock slightly larger than my frame (2-1/4″ x 2-1/4″).  I stamped the “You can never have too much happy” verse from the stamp set “Yippee Skippee!”  Before attaching my frame, added some texture by using the xxxx’s from the “Needlepoint Border” Embossing folder.   I wanted to bring in a bit more white onto the card so I colored the xxxx’s with our White Stampin’ Chalk Marker.  Now I could attach my frame.

I also wanted to add a bit more color to the card front so I added some of the extra paper, and I sliced off a piece of the gold envelope liner!  While I was add it … I punched out the “Elegant Butterfly” out of gold.  Then I layered the smaller “Bitty Butterfly” from my left over embossed designer paper from yesterday’s project!  Waste not, want not! LOL

000_0863

Finally, to finish off the card … I added the Basic Pearls and then popped up the butterfly with the dimensionals.

Here are the items I used to create this project …  Click on the photo to view details / purchase.  Please note that the “Peek-a-boo Bigz Die” is on sale for $24.71 and will reflect that when you purchase it during the “Weekly Deals” which ends on the 17th of March.

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today, I hope you enjoyed today’s card share.

Sale-A-Bration Inspiration Part 2

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Today I am going to share part 2 of the “Earn a Free Sale-a-bration item” from the Stampin’ Up! blog “Get Inspired”.  Concept artist today is Melody.  Hope you enjoy …

Earn a Free Sale-A-Bration Item (Part 2)

During Sale-A-Bration, when you spend $50 USD/ $60 CAD, you earn a free, exclusive product. To make it easier to get to $50 USD/ $60 CAD, we’re suggesting a second bundle of products that work well together and will help you earn a free item. Enjoy!

Anyone who knows me, knows that I am absolutely obsessed with the Undefined Stamp Carving Kit and carving my own stamps. I jump at every opportunity I get to talk about and share what I’ve made with the kit. I just love the creative process involved—and of course, the end result.

Here’s what I included in my Undefined bundle:

Supplies:

Undefined Stamp Carving Kit 133402

Note Cards & Envelopes 131527

Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack 118309

Rhinestone Basic Jewels 119246

Linen Thread 104199

Stampin’ Pierce Mat 126199

Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper 133521 (FREE with a qualifying purchase!)

(Total supplies equal SAB minimum)

You may look at the samples I’ve made and then at my bundle list and wonder why I’ve included the Stampin’ Pierce Mat. Because the rubber in the Undefined Kit is stiffer than our regular rubber, I have found that it takes more pressure to get an evenly stamped image. The Stampin’ Pierce Mat makes it easier to get an even image without as much pressure.

I’ve included a PDF of my sketches for this stamp set. Feel free to carve your own set if you’d like.

Note: The Undefined Kit comes with four wood blocks. To accommodate five stamps, the smallest stamps were double-mounted.

I’d love to see the fun stamps you’ve carved. E-mail me a link to a blog post or attach a JPEG of your carved creations to undefined@stampinup.com and I’ll add it to the Stampin’ Up! Undefined (http://www.pinterest.com/stampinup/undefined/) Pinterest board.

Melody H.
Concept Artist

Don’t you just love Melody’s cards?  What do you think of the “Undefined”?  I’d love to hear from you.

I’ll be back tomorrow with a card share designed by me 🙂

Thank you so much for stopping by.

Now, on to my card share!  I did a fun little technique today with our “Decorative Dots” embossing folder … I colored it.  This is an easy, and fun technique that you can use on any of your embossing folders (and not as messy as some other coloring of folders).

000_0823

Roll your desired folder through your BigShot (or the new Texture Boutique) – then ink up your brayer with the ink color you want to apply onto your embossing.  Yes, we brayer over the embossing … don’t push to hard, you don’t want to flatten out your embossed images.

I began with “Garden Green” and inked up my brayer with “Tempting Turquoise” … then gently rolled the turquoise over the garden green embossed cardstock.  I was thinking alligator, and I thought the colors looked really fun together.

I stamped up my gator image with the Black StazOn and cut it out using the “Ovals Collection” framelits.  I also added a mat and popped it up with the Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Oh my … almost forgot to say that I pulled out my paper piercer and added some texture around the greeting.  Hmmm… next time I will use the template to do that straight line!  Then I popped it all up.

000_0826

To add a bit of contrast to the card … I simply added strips of black cardstock on to the card front.  I also added some Garden Green and Black strips to the inside … just for fun.

Thank you for stopping by my blog today.

See you later, alligator!

Rev Up the Fun!

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend.  I caught a glimpse of the qualifying runs for the Daytona 500 – that means Spring is just around the corner … right?  It also inspired my card for today’s share.

With all the beautiful floral stamp sets in the Stampin’ Up! catalog, it seems “man cards” are few and far between.  If you are in need of an idea, I hope this inspires you.  It will also work great for a kids card.

000_0789

My color pallet today is simple … Midnight Muse and Whisper White.  I chose the “Rev Up the Fun” stamp set and the race car.  The greeting is included in the stamp set.  The tire tracks stamp is great for the inside of this card … and don’t forget to stamp the envelope too!

I embossed the bottom half of the card with the “Chevron” textured embossing folder.  When I was ready to stamp the car, I wanted it to look like it was racing across the card, so I began at the right side, held it down for a bit to ensure I had a nice dark color … then dragged it backwards.

Here’s a tip … Practice, practice, practice.  This way you make sure you got a good feel of how you want it too look, and to make sure your not dragging it crooked across the card.

000_0784

Next I used the “Word Bubble Framelit Dies” and cut out a word bubble that fit the greeting.  I set my greetings inside the word bubble dies to make sure they fit, before I cut.

Then I stamped my greeting on a separate piece of white cardstock and popped it up behind the opening.  I then added Stampin’ Dimensionals to the rest of the piece before mounting it onto the Midnight Muse mat.

My final step was to add the ribbon … I tied a knot in it before attaching (more manly than a bow).  Then I just used my Snail adhesive to adhere the card front to the base.

000_0789

Thank you so much for checking out my blog today.  Hope I inspired you to start your week off by “Rev’in up the Fun”.

Take good care ~

Thinking of Spring …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Today’s card share was created to inspire “spring” to begin!  I think most of our 50 states are ready, the East coast has been hit exceptionally hard this year.  For those of you in Arizona who are basking in the warm sunshine … we are jealous.

Enough with the weather report … and onto the card.  I made this mainly out of punches, except for a little greeting and stamping a bit of an accent.  I wanted the flowers to be the focal point.

000_0779

The flowers were punched with our “Pansy” punch.  I embossed the yellow using the “Decorative Dots” embossing folder (FREE Sale-a-bration item) and then punched them with the 3/4″ Circle Punch.  It adds some fun dimension to the flowers.

The stem was punched from the “Bird Builder” punch … some leaves were trimmed off, and then added onto the stem to complete the look.  It’s best to do this type of work directly on the “Silicone Craft Sheet” … I always use that when I am using my Snail adhesive on a punched images so small.  Keeps the adhesive off your work area (No more sticky mess).

I used the dot strip from the “Perfect Pennants” stamp set (also comes in a bundle with the Banner framelits) and the greeting comes from a new stamp set, Peaceful Petals.

000_0783

Can you guess what colors I used to create this card?  Let’s see how many correct guesses we can get.

I hope you enjoyed today’s whimsical card … I thought the flowers looked like they were dancing on a warm summer day!  (Wish I was there) lol

Have a Super Sunday!

Live Happy & Enjoy the Weekly Deals …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Today’s card share is a reflection of what I showed you the past two days.  I also have the NEW weekly deals listed for you today.  I am using the “You’re Lovely” Sale-a-bration stamp set, and a similar layout as I did yesterday… like I did for the fab four.

This simple technique of using similar layouts to produce a different looking card can make our busy lives much easier.  I know some of you love to sit and create – others like the simple, easy to recreate cards.  That is why stamping is so much fun, you can do it your way!

I changed my color pallet from yesterdays Basic Black, Real Red and Very Vanilla, to Island Indigo, Pool Party and Whisper White.  I am using the “Quarterfancy” Designer Specialty Paper (left over from the fab four).

000_0747

I used the floral stamp today, along with the “Live Happy” greeting that comes in the “You’re Lovely” stamp set.  This was stamped in Black StazOn.  I used my “Blender Pens” and the Pool Party ink pad to color in the flowers.  The greeting was stamped in Island Indigo.

The stamped image and the Island Indigo mat where cut out with the “Deco Labels Collection” framelits.  I can’t believe that I did not have this collection of framelits!  The entire piece was popped up using the Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I finished off my card by embellishing with the Pearls.  I love the string of pearls, it makes embellishing your card so easy!  You saw me wrap them all around the oval on the baby card from the “Fab Four” post.

Lovely & Lace

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Hope you have a “fab”ulous weekend!  Thanks so much for the comments and for sharing my blog!  Please … feel free to share with all your friends, that is what stamping is all about, a collection of fun, creative minds.

On January 29th, I introduced that stamp set “You’re Lovely”, from the Sale-a-bration catalog and said that it coordinates with the Deco Labels Collection Framelits (and that I would be ordering them).  Well … they have arrived and I got a chance to use them this weekend.  I don’t know how I got along without them – they work nicely with our circle punches too!

I used the same stamp as I did in January, but will be sure to make more for you with the others.  I then cut it out with the Deco Labels Framelit and also cut a mat from Basic Black.

000_0743

I wanted the pretty flowers to pop, so I used the Real Red ink pad and a Blender Pen to color them in.  I went over the greenery with the “Wild Wasabi” Stampin’ Write Marker.

Then I wanted to use some Designer Series Paper for my card and decided to use the “Modern Medley” … I think it suits this stamp nicely.

Next I wanted to add a touch of lace, but with the light background and the polka dots, it was a bit hard to see.  So, I decided to thread a pop of color in it.  There is a definite pattern in the lace ribbon so I used that for the spacing of the weave.

I used the needle from the “Heartfelt Banner Kit” – the end of the needle is not sharp but still goes through the lace.  Once you get the ribbon up to the lace, you just wiggle it through sideways.  It’s a bit tricky at first, but once you get the hang of it, it goes pretty good.  I also tied a bow (the fork bow) and attached it with Glue Dots.

To finish off my card, I felt I need something at the bottom … so I colored my Pearls with a Black Sharpie Marker (permanent marker) and added them to the bottom to balance out the card.  I also added 2 to the greeting to complete the look.  I love black pearls!  In fact, you can have whatever color you want … Sharpie makes a variety of colors.

Fun is “Good as Gold”

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Today is all about FUN!!  My card share stems from playin’ around with my FREE Sale-a-bration items.  On December 16th, I introduced you to the “Good as Gold” card kit.  It’s so cute … not to mention quick and easy to assemble and send!

Here is the original card – based on the packet instructions…

The kit includes:

* 8 card bases (3-1/2″ x”)

* 8 envelope liners

* 1 sheet gold foil tags

* 1 sheet printed die-cut tags

* 8 pieces of gold elastic cord

* 8 pieces of Bermuda Bay Backers Twine

So … ready for some fun!!  I know that some of my stampers are die-hard “regular card size” stampers, so I thought that it would be fun to use the supplies in the kit to create some “regular” size cards … our 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″.

I began by cutting the “Good as Gold” card in half, then adding it to a black base and a Bermuda Bay mat.  Still quick -n- easy.

I cut 1″ off the bottom of the gold envelope liner and used it to create a banner.  The greeting comes with the kit.  Instead of tying the bows at the top, I wrapped it around the greeting for a different look.

Next, I took the second half of the card … both sides have the dotted pattern and trimmed it to fit the mat I created from the gold envelope liner.

Now … I did not use my Bigshot on the first card, so you know I was going to bring it out for this one!  Because there is more of the base card exposed on this card … I embossed it with the “Decorative Dots” embossing folder.  It coordinates with these cards and it’s FREE too!

I trimmed the greeting down and matted it with the left over gold envelope liner, and popped it up on the card with the stampin’ dimensionals.  The bows were tied at the top and the little banner was added.  Again, simple and easy.

Oh … by the way, I used the “Sweet Sorbet” designer series paper (same design as our cards) to line the envelope.  This time I have to use the envelope framelit dies to cut it out.  The liners included in the kit are pre-cut for you!

I hope these cards inspire you to use your products in some different ways.  Just have fun with it.
