Dazzling Dandelions …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I am back with a card that we made in our Dandelion Wishes Class yet truly highlights the beautiful Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper.

The pattern I chose looks like the Bokeh technique … this is a  technique developed by photographers by capturing out of focus points of light. It is one of the hottest trends in design. I actually taught this technique to my club members, it is amazing, and here it is on paper so it’s super simple to add to your card creations!

I love this card … We used a technique that gives you glitter designer paper (and that’s what I call it). This is also super easy to create when you use the Adhesive Sheets!

We stamped our image directly onto the Petal Promenade Designer Paper and then laid the Adhesive Sheet over the top, pulled off the backing and added out glitter … stunning!!

I love the color combination of pink and brown so I chose the coordinating Petal Pink cardstock (Petal Promenade DSP) and Early Espresso to contrast. So simple to create … so stunning to view!

Thank you for sharing your Friday with me ~

Enjoy this beautiful day.

Dandelion Wishes: Dream

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I’m sharing with you one of the cards that we made last night at my Dandelion Wishes stamp set.  It’s beautiful and sophisticated … the attendee’s words last night! I thank them for joining me, sharing their time with me and making it a wonderful evening.

Bringing back a classic technique, heat embossing … and done in black and gold!!

The background was embossed with the Gently Falling embossing folder to give the card extra texture. Once the dandelion image was embossed, it was cut out using the Stitched Framelit die and the gold mat from the Circle Framelits … they pair well together. That was popped up on the background.

My greeting comes from the Chase your Dreams Thinlits dies (also comes as a bundle). We used the stampin’ blends to color our Rhinestones to give them a hint of gold!  It looks so cohesive … and I loved the way it turned out.

Thank you for joining me today!

Have a good day ~

Dandelion Dreams & Wishes …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

I hope you enjoyed the beautiful weekend! Yesterday was absolutely a lovely day and perfect for my great-nieces graduation party… and it’s always great to see family.

Today I have two cards for you, both using the Dandelion Wishes stamp set … just a different orientation. Our first card is has a similar layout as the card you saw yesterday. I also used the Garden Impressions Designer Paper again … but a totally different pattern!!

Do you agree with me … this designer paper is stunning!! I embossed my image directly onto the designer paper. This paper color coordinates with the new 2018-20 In-Color Blueberry Bushel – what a beautiful color.

The background was created by the simple technique of stamping “color on color” … in other words, Blueberry Bushel ink on Blueberry Bushel cardstock. I did the same on the cardstock that I embossed my greeting onto as well.

The greeting comes from the “Follow Your Dreams” stamp set.  This also comes in a bundle for a 10% Savings! It was heat embossed like the dandelion image and cut with the Layering Ovals Framelits.

Now ~ using the same designer paper, techniques and stamp set, we’ll change the orientation to a vertical card and you get this beautiful card …

So we switched the stamp from the dandelion set and used the greeting from the set as well but the Garden Impressions designer paper and embossing and stamping technique are all the same, but the card still looks different.

I did a little more layering of cardstock on this card and my base was Whisper White instead of the Blueberry Bushel like our first card.  My stampin’ tip for you today is to “Heat Set” your stamped cardstock before you emboss on it… you don’t want your embossing powder to stick onto the cardstock.

So … what do you think of this amazing combination of the beautiful blue Garden Impressions paper and the “Color on Color” stamping technique, then embossed in white? I’m lovin’ it!!

Thank you for stopping back today to check out yet another card with the Dandelion Wishes stamp set.

Hope you have a beautiful Monday!!

Technique Tuesday: Glitter Designer Paper

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

If you are a glitter addict then I have the perfect technique for you… Glitter Designer Paper!  I have been doing this for years … the only thing that has changed is the adhesive that I used.  Today I’m using the fabulous Multipurpose adhesive sheets! Quick * Clean * Glitter perfect!!  Pictures do not do it justice!

I’m using the beautiful Petal Promenade Designer Paper. If you love fresh flowers, you will love this paper, the patterns are so pretty and look like they are ready to be picked with the photographic floral designs ❤

I begin with the choice of designer papers … that will set you up for a perfect color pallet (the colors are already listed on the designer paper packaged – Thanks Stampin’ Up!). I chose the returning Mossy Meadow and new Petal Pink, and Whisper White for my greeting.

Using the Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets makes this technique so easy. I cut the adhesive sheet slightly larger than my designer paper, then I trim off the extra.  This ensures I have full coverage of adhesive on my designer paper … don’t want any spots that don’t have glitter!!

Once I have the covering removed … I put the sheet into my glitter tub and sprinkle it with the Dazzling Diamonds glitter.  I made sure to cover it fully and then tap off the excess glitter.  Then I use a scrap piece of paper and cover the glittered paper. My next step is to firmly press the glitter into the adhesive – I use one of my clear blocks.  Remove scrap paper and tap off any excess glitter. WOW! Just beautiful!!

I matted the glitter paper onto the Mossy Meadow cardstock and then onto the card base in Petal Pink.  I used the Label Me Pretty stamp set and stamped the lined decor in Petal Pink and the greeting in Mossy Meadow… then it was punched with Pretty Label punch.  I punched out another label in Mossy Meadow, cut it in half and then attached it to the back … this allows you to mat the label 🙂

I added a touch of Wink of Stella to the filigree lines on the label and the rhinestones to add a touch of bling to my blinged out card!! I used the Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop up the greeting which added a little dimension to the card. Again, the camera does not capture the full beauty of this card.

I thank you for spending a part of your day with me. I encourage you to try this beautiful and fun technique. It really is quite easy as well.  I have listed the supplies I used on today’s card below.

You’re the Best! Have a beautiful day ~

Technique Tuesday: Embossing with Dies!!

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

I am so excited to share this awesome technique with you!! I love this because it makes your stampin’ dollars stretch and makes really cool effects on your cards!! I’m talking about the new Big Shot Embossing Mats!!

Your favorite Framelits, Thinlits, and Edgelits dies can do more when paired with the Embossing Mats. Use with cutting dies to emboss instead of cut!! I used the beautiful “Springtime Impressions Thinlits” to create this amazing background …

I embossed the floral pattern onto the new Soft Sea Foam cardstock. I simply began with the base plate, then the white plate; included in the embossing mat package, then the blue mat, my cardstock, the die and finally the cutting plate on top … roll it through, and your image is embossed onto your cardstock!!

This gives you a nice close look at how the die actually embossed the cardstock!  Now you have two different ways to use your dies!!  You could do the same with these pretty butterflies!!

I used the new Gorgeous Grape and Highland Heather cardstocks to cut out my butterflies and layered them.  I loved the heather against the sea foam but wanted that extra pop of color … and that is why I layered the butterfly.  The cute flowers also come in the die set.

The beautiful greeting comes from the Southern Serenade stamp set, was stamped in the Gorgeous Grape and cut out with the Stitched Framelit dies.  I finished off my card by embellishing with Rhinestones … a little bling never hurt anyone! lol

I thank you for joining me today to see this new product / technique!!  This will definitely be on my upcoming Class List. Stop back tomorrow and I’ll share a card created with the Springtime Impressions … cut!

Have a wonderful day ~

How Beautiful a Day Can Be …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

How are you on this beautiful day? I know they say it’s going to rain today, but I’m looking for the beautiful side of the day!!  They say whatever you think … you attract! So who doesn’t want a beautiful day?

I am excited to share with you a beautiful card … I told you yesterday about the Stampin’ Blends and that they are coming back. And on Tuesday I shared one of my favorite suites in the new catalog, the Graceful Glass. So I’m combining these two to bring you my creation …

I chose to keep a very simple color pallet … Whisper White!!  I did this so I could really highlight the “Graceful Glass” pattern of the Iris’s. I had a hard time choosing which pattern from the papers!!

I used the Old Olive Light & Dark Stampin’ Blends and the Rich Razzleberry Light & Dark to color my Iris’s and added a touch of the Dark Daffodil Delight in the center of them. Once colored … I trimmed down the design to fit with the verse I wanted to use … ENJOY LIFE is the beautiful stamp set this verse comes from!

This was a must have for me (pg. 58 New Catty) the verses the fonts … Love ’em!! The cute little butterflies also come with the set and I couldn’t resist using the Enjoy Life stamp set with the Graceful Glass designer paper!

To adhere the Graceful Glass vellum to the strip of Whisper White, I put a dab of Tombo glue onto a scrap piece of paper and used my finger to gently add some adhesive. It’s a very thin layer, I could barely see what I put directly onto the back … and you can’t see it from the front!!  Wooo Hooo!! Now there is a Stampin’ Tip you can put in the bank 🙂

This card is so easy to make and is so beautiful … and I am so hooked on this stained glass paper. I guess a rainy day would be a great day to sit down, relax and start to color!!  Hmmm … I guess that would create a relaxing, “beautiful” day!

Thank you so much for stopping by today!  Let me know if you have any questions on how I created today’s card.

Have a “beautiful” day ~

Watercoloring Florals ….

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I’m sharing a card from a very versatile stamp set, the Petal Pallet. I’ve shown you many styles from this stamp set … for example just this past May 14th with the “Life is so much Better” card.

This beautiful card is quite easy to create. I choose Smoky Slate because I wanted the card to be a little softer than stark black.  I stamped several of the leaf images into the corner, and the floral piece was stamped in Black Momento ink on a separate piece of paper …

The floral image was cut out using the coordinating dies.  (Remember, this bundle will retire at the end of this month).  I then used the Aqua painter to watercolor my flowers in Bermuda Bay and Old Olive.

The floral piece was attached with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the greeting from the stamp set “Rose Wonder” was stamped on the front. The front was also attached to the Smoky Slate base with the dimensionals.

This beautiful card could easily be made into a Birthday card … or Get Well … your choice. I hope you enjoyed and that it inspired you to create a few of your own.

Enjoy your day and thank you for checking in with me today!

Beautiful Butterfly (You Move Me Bundle)

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

I am so excited to not only share one of the amazing cards that we made at our Annual Spring Stamping Retreat but to share my very first video!! Oh my gosh … I can’t believe I finally did this, with more practice I’ll be able to create some really fun information / training videos for you!!

First, let me share the card with you. I bought this stamp set because my Mom loved butterflies, it’s sad she never got to see this (well, maybe she did ❤ ) so this card and my first video are dedicated to my Mom.   Sunday will be our first Mother’s Day without her, so I need to focus on the wonderful moments shared together… with a smile.

I can’t believe this stamp set is on the “Retirement List”!!  Don’t let this one slip by, it is so pretty and you can make any type of card with this bundle.  Below are the three cards we made with the “You Move Me Bundle” … Two of the cards were inspired by fellow stampin’ artists/ demonstrators.

The center card I credit to: Patty Bennett … she used 2 butterflies on her card, I did a single butterfly.  The card on the right, I credit to:Shelly Godby … she used the “Reverse Masking” technique on her card and I used the Marker to Block / Watercolor Technique.  Can you see how different all of these cards are … and all beautiful!!

Now … I must show you how beautiful this butterfly is in movement. Yes, it moves, it flutters!! Just click on the arrow in the center of the picture.

Well now …

I can’t create a beautiful card like this and not decorate the inside. The cute little butterflies come in the stamp set that is included in the bundle. You will need the bundle to make your butterfly or humming bird fly.

I really hope you liked this card and that you enjoyed the video!  If you did, would you please leave a comment … I would love to hear your thoughts.

Just to let you know … the beautiful designer paper used on my cards is already gone from this discontinued list.

Thank you for joining me today.

Have a beautiful day!

Stampin’ Technique: Reverse Masking

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! I heard it rained here on Sunday morning … hmmm, I never heard a thing! lol Yesterday I posted two cards that were created by my Retreat Attendee’s for our Swap, and Janet’s card used a technique called Mask Resist. I was asked “how” that is done, so I tried to explain it in my reply but thought I should show you, so I will 🙂

Today the card that I created is using the “Got To Have it All” Bundle …

Directions:

Use any framelit or die to cut out a circle, oval or other shape using Vellum Paper. I cut my vellum piece the same size as the cardstock I will be stamping on (No Mess!)

Adhere the Vellum Paper “reverse mask” to a piece of cardstock with a very small spot of removable adhesive (I use the retired Stampin’ Up! Dotto).

Without moving the mask, ink your Stampin’ Sponge and sponge within the masked area with a light color, leaving a bit lighter area in the center

Remove the vellum mask (remove any Dotto residue with the Adhesive Eraser) and Stamp a focal point stamp INSIDE masked area onto cardstock… today I used the bonus stamp from the “Got to Have It All” Bundle.

Stamp additional images that overlap the focal area and the white space for added dimension … and a little “Wink of Stella” always adds a sweet little touch of sparkle to your card.

Thank you for hanging out with me today.

Have a wonderful day!

Dare to Dream

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Well… this is actually my Tuesday, March 13th post but while editing, I hit the wrong button and it posted (AGH … technology!!)  Anyhow, let me show you what I’ve been up to!

For the past two days I’ve shared my creations from the Epic Celebrations, well I’ve got two more for you, so today and tomorrow I’ll be sharing those and you will get to see how fun and versatile this stamp set is …

I love this card for a young lady who is dreamin’ big … traveling, going off to collage, or heading out to explore life! I used the “Post Script” background stamp because I thought it looked cool with the tennis shoes.

The little circles on the background are what gave me the idea to create my focal point using … circles!! The tennis shoes were colored in using the Watercolor Pencils and Blender pen. I feel you have a lot more control using the pencils than some of our other water coloring techniques.

The little pop of designer paper comes from out Picture Perfect Party stack … and again, little circles!! The “Dare to Dream” greeting comes from one of our Exclusive Hostess stamp sets; Dare to Dream! This makes me feel like these were all suppose to be put together 🙂

Our circles were created with the Layering Circle and Stitched Shapes Framelits! And while I was at it … I decided to finish it off with a few now circles by using the beautiful little Glitter Enamel Dots!

I love this card in black -n- white with that pop of color, just sets the tone to inspire an awesome young lady to “Dare to Dream”! Switch out the color and you can send off your young man to follow his dreams too.

I’m so happy you stopped by today and checked out my card.  No reason in the world you can’t Dare to Dream as well … I’m always dreaming (and workin’ towards those dreams).

Have an inspiring day ~

My “Watercolor Lifting” Card …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

It is Thursday and it’s a good day (because it’s my Friday!) I have off of my other job Friday, Saturday and Sunday! I have a Stampin’ Club on Saturday morning and then Andrea’s Stampin’ Party that afternoon and I’m so excited to share my love of stamping with them.

Today I’m going to share my card that I created using the “Watercolor Lifting” technique that I shared via video with you yesterday. I’m going to share a couple extra pictures to show you how I did it … This is my first card with this technique!!

Let’s begin with the preparation … I started with Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry and Elegant Eggplant Ink Pads. I used the Shimmery White cardstock because I thought it would emboss better than the watercolor paper (because my design on the stamp set was very fine) and my Aqua painter!

You will notice that I pushed my pads together to get some ink in the lids … if you don’t like this method, you could put a few drops of re-inker in the lid or another container. Either way … I generally clean out the cover before storing them.

Grab your Aqua Painter and lets have some fun!  This is so easy and looks so cool …

I put some notes on my pictures as well … in case you would like to print them out and make a tutorial. I held the sides down with a little washi tape.

I made sure to Aqua Painter had plenty of water and the tip was wet, then I picked up my first color (Melon Mambo) and began brushing it across my cardstock.  When I started my second color, I went over the first color a little so it blended nicely.

Once you get it to look the way you want (I like it a little on the dark side, remember … you will be removing some of this color).  Make sure your cardstock is totally dried. You do not want any moisture, the embossing powder will stick and you will have a mess!

Once DRY … rub your embossing buddy across the cardstock so you don’t get any flecks of additional powder on your project…. this is just a good habit to get into if your love to emboss.  I used VersaMark and Clear Embossing Powder (don’t over heat).

Now that your embossing is done … you’re ready for the Watercolor Lift! Take your Aqua Painter and spread a layer of water over your project … use a paper towel to begin “LIFTING” the color back up ….

What you will get is pretty pops of color where you embossed with a beautiful watercolor background!  I love this technique and it is so easy to do. This was my very first time doing it and here is my card …

I wanted to highlight the beautiful technique on this card so it is the focal point and I popped some black behind it so it really stands out on the card.

I used the floral pattern from the “Wood Words” stamp set on page 159 of our Annual catalog and I just stamped it all over the cardstock.  The greeting comes from the “Picture Perfect Birthday” stamp set which is on page 5 of our Occasions Catalog.

I know there was a lot to read through today but I hope you understand the steps to create your own Watercolor Lift Cards.

Just think … you can do this is any color combination, including a rainbow!! Why not have some fun, pick your favorite colors and give it a try!

Thank you so much for coming back today to check out my card.

Have a great Thursday … and I hope it feels like a Friday for you too.

See you tomorrow ~

Watercolor Lifting technique

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

I’ve been talking a lot about the Aqua Painters lately and for those of you who have not been able to attend one of my classes or be in one of my clubs and get these awesome products in your little hands, I thought the next best thing was to share a video with a Watercolor technique & Aqua painters … Learn how to use the watercolor lifting technique from Stampin’ Up! trainer, Brandi Barnard.

I think this is a really cool technique. Now … I’d like you to stop back tomorrow and see what I’ve made with this new technique! I’ve never done this before watching this video either … surprisingly easy!

Thank you for coming by to visit today ~

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Coloring on Foils

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Hope you are having a good day … it is Monday but if I think Friday is only 4 days away – everything seems brighter!! Then I step outside and it’s overcast, dreary and the wind is blowing that cold right through you, so I went back inside, put on one of my favorite CD’s and started to stamp … ahhhhh, much better!!

Yesterday I shared my Silver Foil card with you …

Pretty … Yes! But wait, we’re going to grab our Stampin’ Blend and ink pad and add some color!! What do you think …

OK … I’ll put it onto a card.  I used several different colors of my Stampin’ Blends to color the different flowers on the Petal Pair Textured Impressions Embossing Folder found on page 23 of the Occasions Catalog… and I’m pairing it with the Sale-a-bration item; Springtime Foils Specialty Designer paper (Free with a $50 purchase during our Sale-a-bration).

I took the Lemon Lime Twist ink and sponged it onto my Springtime Foils Specialty Designer paper. It takes the color so nicely and really compliments the Silver foil paper we have embossed and colored.

I’ll be honest … I don’t like blunt edges so you’ll always see me adding a strip of cardstock or a ribbon to join my two edges and give it a softer look. Here I used the beautiful Powder Pink Ribbon that coordinates with the card base and the mat to our greeting.

The greeting is again from the “A Mother’s Flair” on page 46 in the Occasions Catalog. This set is so pretty but it’s going to be hard for me to make a Mother’s Day card this year, but it would be a nice way to honor my Mom (it’s just a little raw yet).

The greeting was cut out with our Stitched Shape and Circle Framelits Dies. I mounted it over my ribbon and then finished off the card with the Glitter Enamel Dots … if you haven’t noticed, I’m really crushin’ on these!! They go with everything!!

I hope you enjoyed today’s card, it is a lot quicker to make than what it looks like it would be. So try your hand at coloring on the foils … it is so pretty!

Thank you so much for stopping by today.

Have a wonderful Monday ~

Simply Sunday: Brusho Crystal Colour Technique

 Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

I’m back today with a card that I made with my Stampin’ Clubs this month. They were the first to use the Brusho Crystal Colour technique … a new product that was introduced in the Occasions catalog on page 26.

On this card we used the Shimmery White Cardstock and the “Beautiful Day” stamp set.  We will be embossing the flower with the black embossing powder.

Next thing you want to do is to poke a hole or two in the top of the plastic bottle the Brusho is in. I used my Paper Piercer to poke the hole and then use a push pin to keep it sealed ….

I like to use a little washi tape to hold my sides down … it keep the colors from running together if the paper “rolls up” from the water.  Then you will gently tap the Brusho bottom to dispense the powder … Less is More!  You can always add more but it’s best to start light, especially if you are new to this technique. It looks a little like peppering your food! lol

I started with “Yellow” in the center, “Gamboge” around the center, and then the “Brilliant Red” around the outer petals.

Now with your Stampin’ Spritzer … spritz some water onto the image. I stand during this process and I’m at least 8 – 12″ above my cardstock – You don’t have to measure, but if you are too close it might splatter your color.

Notice I kept the Brusho colors I used away from the leaf — also less spritzing, I can always add water with the use of my Aqua Painter… which I will be using to color in the leaf.

With the use of my Aqua Painter, I began to move my color around starting with the yellow.  I keep a tissue or paper towel handy to keep my Aqua Painter clean.  If you mix your colors too much – you’ll end up with one color or a mess!

Once the color was where I wanted it, I tapped a bit of the Green Brusho onto a block and used my Aqua Painter to pick up the crystals and color in the leaf directly.  That is two techniques you’ve now learned with the Brusho!!  Once DRY you can cut it out and mount it to your card ….

I used a Whisper White base with a Basic Black mat and my background was embossed with the beautiful “Layered Leaves” Dynamic Textured Embossing Folder. The greeting comes from the stamp set “Beautiful Day” which is found on page 26 of the Occasions catalog with the Brusho.

The pretty little butterfly comes from the “Bold Butterfly” Framelits and cut out of the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper!!

It really is simple to use … Remember, I did this at my Stampin’ Club and each and everyone’s card turned out beautiful yet no two were alike … it was awesome!!

I will be hosting a “Brusho Crystal Colour” Watercoloring Class … be sure you’re on my mailing list! You won’t want to miss this one. I have an entire class list coming out VERY soon!

Thank you for joining me today ~
