Color My World ….

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

I don’t know about you … but I can’t believe that we are going into mid-May already!! Have the year is almost past us … where did the time go?

With the time flying by us so quickly, I just wanted to remind you of the retiring products will soon be gone.

Stampin’ Up! is refreshing our color line, when they listed the ones leaving …. I understood! Will I miss some, YES, but I’m much more excited about the new ones coming in!!! Let’s start with the colors that will be leaving …

You knew that the 2016-18 Colors were leaving, but with the color revamp … we have a few more. Don’t be sad about those leaving, you still have time to stock up but Don’t forget your INK REFILL!!

I thought I would miss Elegant Eggplant – until they announced “which one’s were coming BACK” … yes, you heard me correctly! My favorite … Oh My Gosh, I can’t wait to tell you … BLACKBERRY BLISS!!!! I am so excited, I LOVE this color ❤  And Mossy Meadow!! Glad they’re back … here are the rest of the returning colors!!

It’s been about 5 years since we had a color update and 8 years since Stampin’ Up! has done a revamp like we’re seeing now.  I’m excited … the colors are current, fresh and really look good together!  While I’m at it … Let’s look at the new 2018-19 In Colors and NEW Core Colors!

I love that Pineapple Punch!!   Here are both sets of In Colors along with the “Basics” …  these colors have been take out of our Neutrals line which made room for 3 new colors and a warm look in our Neutrals!

Here is the entire grouping of our Color Families … now you can see how beautifully they all coordinate.  Did you notice that Real Red is now in the Rich Regals? That is because our new colors give our Brights a “bright fresh look” … I love it!

It’s so exciting to share the new colors and the revamp with you.  You have just a few short weeks to pick up those colors that will be retiring but you can also get out your wish list for the beautiful new colors being introduced. I’m happy to see Blackberry Bliss, Mossy Meadow and Poppy Parade return and I can’t wait till you can see such colors like Granny Apple Green, Gorgeous Grape and the new Pineapple Punch … that even sounds yummy!!

Thank you for joining me today!!

See you tomorrow ~

Stampin’ Fun …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

So I’ve been asked many times about my Annual Stampin’ Retreats… I host 2 a year, one in the spring and one in the fall which is our Holiday Retreat.  They are different from other retreats as we are all inclusive; your lodging, all of your meals and your projects (and we do plenty!)  The only thing you have to bring is your basic stamping supplies … I bring the rest, which includes your projects prepared for you … a little cutting with the BigShot at times.

Our retreats focus on building knowledge of stamps, accessories, techniques and friendships.  We have many repeat attendees who have become friends!! We enjoy beautiful scenery …

We have guests who have been with us from the very first retreat!! These two ladies … hopped a plane to join us, all the way from Oklahoma!! It was Carolyn’s first retreat but this was Peggy’s third retreat! I am honored that they would come so far to stamp with us …

If you didn’t see my earlier post but each of our guests got a hand made little gift when they arrived in the stamping room …

Filled with some embellishments, Stampin’ Spritzers and a treat … Jelly Belly’s!!  I also had a gift waiting for them in their room that evening …

Each guest got this tote to carry their projects in … I made sure they were larger than 12 x 12 in case any of the ladies had scrapbooking supplies they’d like to carry with them too.

When we were done for the evening … we went back to our house for a treat. When they got to their room, they had another little gift to say “Thank You” … Hugs & Kisses, tucked into our clear boxes and decked out with the new “Share What You Love” Designer Series paper.

Hope you enjoyed spending a little time at our Stamping Retreat … I will be sharing a few more of our projects and some of the Swap Cards!

Have a wonderful day …

Beautiful Butterfly (You Move Me Bundle)

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

I am so excited to not only share one of the amazing cards that we made at our Annual Spring Stamping Retreat but to share my very first video!! Oh my gosh … I can’t believe I finally did this, with more practice I’ll be able to create some really fun information / training videos for you!!

First, let me share the card with you. I bought this stamp set because my Mom loved butterflies, it’s sad she never got to see this (well, maybe she did ❤ ) so this card and my first video are dedicated to my Mom.   Sunday will be our first Mother’s Day without her, so I need to focus on the wonderful moments shared together… with a smile.

I can’t believe this stamp set is on the “Retirement List”!!  Don’t let this one slip by, it is so pretty and you can make any type of card with this bundle.  Below are the three cards we made with the “You Move Me Bundle” … Two of the cards were inspired by fellow stampin’ artists/ demonstrators.

The center card I credit to: Patty Bennett … she used 2 butterflies on her card, I did a single butterfly.  The card on the right, I credit to:Shelly Godby … she used the “Reverse Masking” technique on her card and I used the Marker to Block / Watercolor Technique.  Can you see how different all of these cards are … and all beautiful!!

Now … I must show you how beautiful this butterfly is in movement. Yes, it moves, it flutters!! Just click on the arrow in the center of the picture.

Well now …

I can’t create a beautiful card like this and not decorate the inside. The cute little butterflies come in the stamp set that is included in the bundle. You will need the bundle to make your butterfly or humming bird fly.

I really hope you liked this card and that you enjoyed the video!  If you did, would you please leave a comment … I would love to hear your thoughts.

Just to let you know … the beautiful designer paper used on my cards is already gone from this discontinued list.

Thank you for joining me today.

Have a beautiful day!

TODAY’S STAMPIN’ SUPPLY LIST …

Stampin’ Technique: Reverse Masking

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! I heard it rained here on Sunday morning … hmmm, I never heard a thing! lol Yesterday I posted two cards that were created by my Retreat Attendee’s for our Swap, and Janet’s card used a technique called Mask Resist. I was asked “how” that is done, so I tried to explain it in my reply but thought I should show you, so I will 🙂

Today the card that I created is using the “Got To Have it All” Bundle …

Directions:

Use any framelit or die to cut out a circle, oval or other shape using Vellum Paper. I cut my vellum piece the same size as the cardstock I will be stamping on (No Mess!)

Adhere the Vellum Paper “reverse mask” to a piece of cardstock with a very small spot of removable adhesive (I use the retired Stampin’ Up! Dotto).

Without moving the mask, ink your Stampin’ Sponge and sponge within the masked area with a light color, leaving a bit lighter area in the center

Remove the vellum mask (remove any Dotto residue with the Adhesive Eraser) and Stamp a focal point stamp INSIDE masked area onto cardstock… today I used the bonus stamp from the “Got to Have It All” Bundle.

Stamp additional images that overlap the focal area and the white space for added dimension … and a little “Wink of Stella” always adds a sweet little touch of sparkle to your card.

Thank you for hanging out with me today.

Have a wonderful day!

TODAY’S STAMPIN’ SUPPLY LIST …

Simply Sunday …. Guest Stampers: Janet & Dawn

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Yesterday was a beautiful day … Eileen and I did not make it to Door County, she wasn’t feeling she could make it that far so we had a nice drive and had lunch in Port Washington. It was a good day and we will try again after we get an OK from the doctor.

I also shared with you yesterday one of the Attendee Swap cards created by Maria using the Waterfront stamp set. Today I’d like to share two more cards from our swap… we have some very talented guests who come to retreat.

First is a simple yet beautiful card created using the reverse masking technique! My guest stamper is Janet. She used a reverse mask to add color to the card front and then stamped the floral image and greeting.

This technique works magically to highlight the stamped image … and a touch of glitter really makes it pop.  Janet shows that a simple card can be beautiful, and we all need cards that look like we spent hours creating but we can get them done quickly.

Our second card comes from a new attendee this year … Guest Stamper: Dawn.   A little more layering on this card but the simplicity really creates a beautiful focal point… the balloon.

Dawn used the Up & Away Thinlits dies to cut out the balloon and the clouds – done with glimmer paper. Just a simple stamping of flower really draws your eye to the balloon … simple yet lovely!

I hope you enjoyed these beautiful swap cards as much as the rest of us at retreat did.  I’ll be sharing a few more, including the winning card!!

Thank you for hanging out with me today.

Have a wonderful day!

A Beautiful Waterfront … Guest Stamper: Maria

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Yes. I did!!  I took they day off yesterday.  It was a stressful week and I had the day off of work as well so I took advantage of it.  I hope you enjoyed your day too.  Today I am taking Eileen to Door County for lunch at the Chef’s Hat … they prepare her favorite meal; Blackened Ahi Tuna. I’m looking forward to time with Eileen, a beautiful drive and an excellent meal… we’ll have a good day!  The Chef’s Hat is located in the beautiful waterfront village of Ephraim, WI.

The scenery is beautiful in Ephraim and I’m excited to share with you a beautiful card from our Annual Spring Retreat Attendee Swap. My guest stamper is Maria and she created this stunning scenic card using the “Waterfront” stamp set.

Each retreat our attendees participate in a swap and I absolutely love it … everyone makes such beautiful cards.  I will be sharing more.  If it wasn’t for the mountains, the lovely waters could pass for the waters of Door County.

I appreciate you stopping back to check out my blog, and I’m sure you enjoyed Maria’s beautiful card.  She has inspired me to break out my “Waterfront” stamp set and start creating some cards with this set as well.

I hope you have a lovely day … enjoy the beautiful weather!!

Have a wonderful day!

Pre-Order has begun … Share What You Love!

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

I’m so excited to tell you that the “Share What You Love” product suite bundles are now available for pre-order.  You can get them before the New catalog is released on June 1st!!  I’ll share each of the bundles and a card sample for some inspiration!  My retreat attendee’s fell in love with this suite, and you will too 🙂

Grab your coffee, sit back and relax while you watch this video.

Isn’t that an amazing product suite … I love it, and I will be sharing it!! I will host a class in May, my Clubs will get to use it, and my Retreat attendee’s will also be creating with this suite!!  All of the cards will be different …

This is the Level 1 Bundle! Great if you are a new stamper.

This is the card that was created for the video; simple but elegant.

Here is the Level 2 bundle. This is a step up for a more experienced stamper.  The block is gone (you’ll already have one) but you’ll get an additional stamp set and more … I love the box that contains the embellishments!!!

Since we’ve stepped up the bundle, we have stepped up the card …

It’s so pretty and I love the colors! The colors are so warm and the velvet ribbon adds a touch of softness. Who wouldn’t want this card!

Here is the Level 3, or should I say “Got to have it All” bundle!!

WOW … that really is a bundle full of goodies!! I know I had to have it all (Got mine … perk of being a demonstrator) Not so we can have bragging rights … but so we can sit down and prepare a wonderful class or samples to share on our blogs with you.

Remember, in the video, Brandi told us that she created the greeting on the left card buy using the “Make a Difference” stamp set … how cool is that!

Stampin’ Up! has one more bundle for us … the NEW IN-COLORS!!!!

Thank you so much for joining me today.  I’ll be back tomorrow with something fun from our retreat!!

Have a wonderful day!

True Gentleman

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

How are you doing today? I hope all is well with you.  Thank you for the kind comments to yesterday’s post, I am truly grateful for all of the amazing people I have met through my stamping and have supported me by choosing me as their demonstrator ❤ Thank You!

Today I want to share one of the cards that my retreat attendee’s got to make.  Our theme for retreat was “Caring Cards” … cards to convey our feelings for others, support, gratitude, sympathy and more. In that mix I thought I needed to add a little testosterone so I created a card from the “True Gentleman” product suite …. You can find it on pages 44 & 45 of the Occasions Catalog!

This is really a simple card to make but with the double fold it looks like it would be more difficult, not so … it’s just a smaller card tucked inside the regular size card and they open in opposite directions!!

My card base is Night of Navy and is adorned with the “True Gentleman” Designer Series Paper. This paper is so much fun … it has playful patterns and some great neutrals that will compliment the playful papers or stand alone! I chose the bow ties and glasses pattern paper to play off the “Lookin’ Sharp” sentiment from the “Truly Tailored” stamp set.

The coordinating punch was used to punch out the greeting and the mat of Tranquil Tide behind the greeting.  I cut the Tranquil Tide in half and aligned it with the greeting to show a bold background!

I really wanted to highlight the greeting so I embossed the background using the “Simple Stripes” Textured Embossing Folder. You can find that on page 5 of the Occasions Catalog with the Picture Perfect Party Suite.  I couldn’t resist adding one of the cute buttons from the “True Gentleman” Buttons … he is looking “sharp” you know! lol

Had to address the inside of the card as well …

And it was very easy to do with the sentiments included in the set.  This is a great stamp set for Fathers Day which is right around the corner … However, this is also on the DISCONTINUED LIST, so if you like it, don’t delay … get your order in before the end of May (the sooner the better) stamp sets are only guaranteed till mid May.

Thank you for checking in on me today, and don’t forget to stop back tomorrow… I’ll keep sharing snapshot from our stamping retreat.

Have a “Dapper Day”!!

TODAY’S STAMPIN’ SUPPLY LIST …

Do you mind if I share ….

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Just got this in the mail today (phone call last week) I continue to be amazed at the recognition  and rewards that Stampin’ Up! pours over their demonstrators. It is a wonderful feeling to be recognized for the hard work that you do … you do not find that in the work force very often. (You usually get assigned more work!)

However … I could not do this without some amazing people in my life; my sister Eileen and my stampin’ friends (customers)!

Thank you to everyone who has supported my dream! It’s crazy how time flies by. I am forever grateful for my stampin’ friends /customers who continue to trust me with their stampin’ needs.

Just know that “YOU” inspire me and I couldn’t do it without you.

Stampin’ Retreat 2018 …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

I hope you have a wonderful weekend full of fun and friendship, as that was my blessing this weekend! I hosted my Annual Spring Stampin’ Retreat and although there was a little rain here and there on Friday we did just fine!!

I would like to Congratulate my friend and former co-worker Arielle on her marriage to Josh this past Saturday ❤ Arielle, her mother Olivia and sister Abby have all joined us on several retreats, so I was sorry to miss her big day. I wish her all God’s blessings and a lifetime of happiness. All your retreat friends say “Congratulations” as well 🙂

After everyone arrives and settles in to their rooms, we gather for dinner. This time we had a picnic; Sloppy Joes, Potato Salad, 7 Layer Salad, Jello Salad, assorted Chips!

Dessert comes later, however they had a “Welcome” snack of popcorns in their room when they arrived.  Once we are done eating we head out to our stamping room and settle in to get some stamping done!

As they found a seat … they were greeted by cute little hand stamped gift filled with stampin’ embellishments and a snack!

Here is a closer look … You will see the “NEW” colored pearls that you will find in the “Share What You Love” Product Suite!

I created these with the “Apron of Love” Bundle and the “Crafting Forever” stamp set… the Stampin’ Up! Logo was cut from the Grid Paper  and embellished with the Enamel Shapes!! They turned out so cute and who wouldn’t like their embellishments tucked in them 🙂

Thank you for checking back in with me today. Join me tomorrow for some card samples and additional happenings at retreat. Here is a picture from our retreat as we said goodnight on Friday …

Have a wonderful day!

Off to Retreat ….

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Just a quick post to update you … I’m heading off to our Annual Spring Stampin’ Retreat!

The cards are designed, cut, prepped, tucked in envelopes and nicely packed into “session bags” … that way they just pull out the back with their supplies and they don’t have to fumble threw a bunch of projects.

This is the house we will be staying in!  Looks like we’re in for a beautiful weekend … I will try to keep you posted (NO WIFI) only in the Internet Cafe and it would not be too polite of me to be hiding away from my guests.  Hopefully during a break.

Till then … have a good weekend!!

Linda

Lighthouses & Sailboats ….

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

It’s a beautiful day …. the sun is shining, it’s warming up and the snow is melting!!

The other day I shared my love of lighthouses with you, and yesterday my Paper Pumpkin came in the mail and when I opened it up … WOW!  Was Stampin’ Up! reading my mind? I believe they have their finger on the pulse of what their customers want!

With summer celebrations just weeks away, you’ll want to get a head start on putting this seaworthy kit together. This kit is full of nautical-style cards and gift boxes that will make your summer gifting and party planning smooth sailing. Check out the monthly unboxing video!

How did you like the tips she showed us …. Placing the stamps on the tag (upside down) to position them to fit, and then put push the block on top to get ready to stamp!

There are so many ideas I have with this kit!  Of course, masculine birthday cards (or Lake Lovin’ Cards!) But also … Scrapbooking trips to Door County (Eileen and I took an awesome boat trip – would be perfect) or the photos taken during a road trip along the Lake Michigan shoreline!!

Thank you for stopping by today, and check back with me tomorrow for a special card and Sunday for my Simply Sunday series.

Have a wonderful day!
