A Watercoloring Technique ….

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I’m going to share with you a quick video from Stampin’ Up! demonstrating a fun watercoloring technique.  If you were in one of my Technique Clubs … you have already done this fun technique!

Here are some samples of the cards that I have made using this technique …

Love this card, one of my favorites … You don’t have to be extravagant to make a beautiful card. Sometimes simple is better.

Hope you enjoyed today’s post. I’ll be back tomorrow with a “Throwback Thursday” project …

Have an awesome day!

Simply Sunday: Most Wonderful Time of the Year

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I have a quick -n- easy Christmas card for you. I know many of you have very busy lives but still like the “hand made” touch at Christmas so here is one solution for your cards …

Let’s begin with our Designer Series paper: This Christmas Specialty Designer Series paper, you will find this paper in our annual catalog on pg.172.  Once we chose the design we want, the next step is our card base … today I chose Cherry Cobbler.

000_3767

While your picking out your paper products, grab your “Vellum Cardstock” because that is what we’ve stamped our greeting on. The greeting is from our “Wonderful Year” stamp set found on page 28 of the Holiday catalog. I used StazOn ink because it works best on this application.

I attached my vellum with the glue dots and then hide them by placing a rhinestone over the top. I colored my rhinestones with a Sharpie™ marker.

Yup … it’s that quick -n- easy. Let me know if  you have any questions about today’s card, or other cards you have viewed this week.

Thanks for stopping by today, and enjoy your Sunday.

RMHC Day of Change …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I have another card parade for you … featuring the “MY HERO” stamp set to honor the Ronald McDonald House Day of Change ….

14720546_10155363940753840_4557430107992624772_n

October 15th is an extraordinary day. It is the day when the entire RMHC global system commemorates the opening of the very first Ronald McDonald House. To celebrate, we rally around our Donation Boxes-our largest fundraiser- to ensure that we continue to keep families close to the care and resources they need to thrive.

Your small change can change lives for Ronald McDonald House Charities … Donate to a RMHC donation box at your local participating McDonald’s.

Today I just wanted to post a recap of all the cards that I created so far, using the NEW My Hero Stamp Set… Stampin’ Up!s exclusive stamp set created for the Ronald McDonald House Charities.

I will share all 7 with you today …

000_3508

Ronald McDonald House Charities®

Stampin’ Up! partnered with Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC). Each year, we design an exclusive stamp set to promote the partnership with RMHC, and donate a portion of the proceeds from the each sale of that set. To date, more than $1,000,000 has been donated from RMHC stamp set sales.

000_3527

Stampin’ Up!’s demonstrators are also encouraged to volunteer their time teaching local Ronald McDonald House guests the creative art of rubber stamping through the Making a Difference program. Demonstrators also create cards at training events which are donated to Ronald McDonald Houses. Those staying at the Houses then use the cards to keep in touch with loved ones while they are away from home.

000_3517

How you can help!

You can help us make a difference. Purchase this year’s set, My Hero, and we’ll donate $3 to Ronald McDonald House Charities for each set purchased.

THE RONALD McDONALD HOUSE

Our homes are filled with more than help, they’re filled with hope

Many families travel far from home and spend several weeks or months to get treatment for their seriously ill or injured children – a long time to be away or to divide a family. And, for children facing a serious medical crisis, nothing seems scarier than not having mom and dad close by for love and support. A Ronald McDonald House is that “home-away-from-home” for families so they can stay close by their hospitalized child at little or no cost.

Our Houses are built on the simple idea that nothing else should matter when a family is focused on the health of

their child – not where they can afford to stay, where they will get their next meal or where they will lay their head at night to rest. We believe that when a child is hospitalized the love and support of family is as powerful as the strongest medicine prescribed.

You can help us make a difference. Purchase this year’s set, My Hero, and we’ll donate $3 to Ronald McDonald House Charities for each set purchased.

I appreciate you staying with me to learn more about the Ronald McDonald House Charities. It’s a foundation that touches my heart, as our children are our future. I’m proud that Stampin’ Up! is a RMHC partner.

Have a safe and wonderful day ~

Parade in Review …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today before I share the card parade in review … I’d like to ask if you would join me in a prayer for one of my stampin’ friends from my Thursday Night stamp club. She is going into surgery today … we hope she comes out with good news, that there is no cancer but we fear she is headed for the fight of her life.

I use the power of positive energy and prayer all the time, for all my friends and family. My niece came out of her double lung transplant earlier this week, and is now breathing on her own. There are miracles all around us.

I thank you now for your prayers and support … we are a real power together.

Jar of Haunts Card Parade …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today is the last of my Jar of Haunts card parade. I noticed that there was one little stamp that I hadn’t used yet … the spider! Makes sense because I do not like spiders and I pretty much stay away from them.

It appears that the little spider that is coming down from the ceiling has tipped over the jar so his friends could all escape! Yikes!

000_3760

Simple card highlighted with a little sparkle … the Pumpkin Pie glimmer paper & Halloween Night Specialty Designer paper. I cut my circles wit the “Layering Circles” Framelits.

I thank you for following along with my parade of cards, I’ll be back tomorrow with my “Friday Frights” cards.

Let me know what stamp set you would like to see featured in my next “Parade of Cards”.

Thank you and have a great day!

Card Parade Day 4 …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Hoping your having a wonderful Wednesday! I must say, I’m having quite a bit of fun creating all of these different Halloween cards with the “Jar of Haunts” stamp set. I know my grandkids are going to love them!! I’m thinking my grandson Aaron will like this one … green slime will make him smile (he’s such a boy!)

There was your warning message … I went on the scary side today. My card features green slime, eyeballs and tombstones!

000_3750

For the green slime I actually mixed the Cucumber Crush ink with my Wink of Stella and painted the slime in the jar and on the pumpkin. The eyeballs come in blue, brown and green and are very bloodshot!

Sorry I used a discontinued punch for my tombstone but it really worked out well. Then I sponged it a little to create an aged look.

The background is the silver webbed specialty paper from the Halloween Nights Designer Specialty paper. I admit that I “fussy cut” the pumpkin and the stem … but other than that the card went together quickly.

000_3750

If you think it looks creepy here … you should see it in person, the flash makes it sparkle a bit too much, it really looks errie – I just love it!! lol

Have yourself a wonderful Wednesday and I’ll be back tomorrow with day 5 (the last day) of my Jar of Haunts card parade.

Thanks for following along ~

Jar of Haunts Parade of Cards Day 3

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Happy Tuesday to you!!  I have another “Jar of Haunts” card for you today, with a touch of humor. Why would I do a parade of cards …. easy, I want to share all the fun and different ways you can use this cute stamp set.

Many years ago one of my stampin’ friends told me she loved all the cards I made, but she would like to see more than just one from a stamp set … well, since then it has been my mission to share multiple card ideas with you.  You will find this on my blog, in my clubs, at my classes and even at my retreats.  It’s a great idea … Thank you Sandy!

On that note, here is card #3 for “Jar of Haunts” …

000_3745

It seems to be the “rage” to stack things now days, so I thought it would be fun to stack my pumpkins. It was all fun and games for these three until one of them got canned! And he doesn’t look to happy about it either!

You will see a reoccurring theme in my parade of cards, because not only am I using the same stamp set, I’m using many of the same cardstocks, designer paper and embellishments. It want to show you the true value of our product suites.

000_3745-close-up

Just as I did yesterday, I water colored my pumpkins using my ink and Aqua Painters. The designer paper and enamel dots are from the “Halloween Nights” product suite, and I used the doily again for an added pop of color. I even added a touch of the Wink of Stella again!

Hope you are having as much fun as I am at this parade … I’ll see you tomorrow with another one!! Do you think it will be cute or scary?? That is the question.

Have an awesome day ~

Jar of Haunts Parade of Cards Day 2 …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today is day two of our “Jar of Haunts” stamp set card parade. Today we are going to delve into the spooky side!  Our little jar of haunts has himself all wrapped up.

Today I started with the Halloween Night Specialty Designer paper. Those may look like little with dots, but they are actually silver foil and that is where the glare on the card front is coming from.

I wanted a neat Halloween color pallet… the only thing missing is the orange but we did that yesterday!

000_3740

My base is Elegant Eggplant and I teamed it up with the Cucumber Crush… these two colors look great together for Halloween. I water colored my little buddy with the Aqua Painter and Eggplant Envy ink, and his face is done in Cucumber Crush.

You will find the doily with the 2015-2017 In Color Doilies in the annual catalog. I thought it added a nice touch to the card and highlighted our greeting which is stamped in Eggplant Envy. As I did on yesterdays card, I added the Halloween Nights Enamel Dots to the card – it just adds a fun pop to the card.

000_3735

Inside you will find a pair of ghoulish eyes … Made even creepier when I used the Wink of Stella pen and Cucumber Crush ink to paint his eyes!! You must try this!! I went back a brushed the Wink of Stella over his already colored face but the effect is slightly different.

This card really falls into the Quick -n- Easy category … even the watercoloring with the Aqua Painter went quick and it some dimension to our little friend.

000_3740

Thank you for checking back on my “Jar of Haunts” parade of cards, I’ll be back tomorrow with card 3.

Have a wonderful day ~

Simply Sunday: Sweet Treats

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

I’m back with my Simply Sunday card today that features the cute “Jar of Haunts” stamp set from the Holiday Catalog (click to view). No tricks today … only treats!

I was totally excited when I saw this stamp set in the Holiday catalog because it coordinates with the “Everyday Jars” Framelits. I love when Stampin’ Up! introduces a new product that works with a product we already have … that way we get twice as much use out of it (and it saves us money!).

 000_3727

Today I’m using the jar with the candy corn for a quick -n- simple card. The color pallet was based off of the … you guessed it – the candy corn, making the card fun and colorful. Both pieces of the Designer paper I used come from the “Halloween Night” Specialty Designer paper. (Not included in current promotion)

The cute little candy dots are the “Halloween Night Enamel Dots” … one anchors the banner and the other two were added to balance the card and add some fun texture. The bow comes from our In-Color collection: Peekaboo Peach … it works nicely with our color scheme.

000_3730

I brought the candy corn color scheme into the inside of my card as well … why stop with the fun on the front! I also added a few more candy corn to finish it off. I used my Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie markers to color all my candy corn.

Hope you enjoyed today’s card … I will be bringing you more cards from the Jar of Haunts all week long! Then on Friday I will have a special Halloween card for you! Halloween is just around the corner.

Have a great day, and thank you for stopping by.

Wishing You a Sweet Season

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I’m going to introduce you to “Gingy” our little Gingerbread Man (or Girl) from the “Cookie Cutter Christmas” stamp set. These little characters are so cute, you really do just want to eat them up!

So easy to use, just stamp your image and “punch” it out. I love my framelits but you’ll want to make so many of these cute cards that a punch is the perfect way to go … And it’s a bundle so you can save!!

000_3715

This Christmas Card also features the “Candy Cane Lane” Designer Series paper. I used the pattern with the pretty little candy cane hearts and the sheet with diagonal stripes. This scrumptious paper is just one of the Designer Series papers that is included in our Buy Three, Get One FREE promotion.

You will also notice that I used the “Cable Knit Dynamic Textured Impressions Folder” … It not only gives you wonderful texture to the card, but brings out that warm and fuzzy feeling of the holidays. Isn’t that the best feeling to send to someone.

000_3725

Gingy really stands out on this card. Because I wanted him as my “focal point” … I highlighted him by popping him up with Stampin’ Dimensionals on a tag! The tag was created by using a 2″ wide strip of Whisper White Cardstock and the “Scalloped Tag Topper” punch. The tag was also popped up creating even more depth and dimension to the card.

My card was completed with the greeting from the “Cookie Cutter Christmas” stamp set and the “Candy Cane Lane” Bakers Twine. The Candy Cane Lane product suite is so fun to create with and so easy because it all coordinates … Check it out on pages 4 and 5 of your Holiday Catalog.

Thank you for joining me today, I hope enjoyed this sweet treat of a card.

Have a sweet day
