Guest Stamper: Linda K.

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Today I’d like to share with you another card from our Spring (April) Stampin’ Retreat card swap … Our guest stamper today is Linda K.

Open Sea -2

Linda used the very versatile “The Open Sea” stamp set and showcased the stamps beautifully. I love the simple neutral color pallet … works great for guys!

Linda used the Basic Gray for her background, and Basic Black to mat each stamped image.

Just look at the detail Linda has put into her card … the paper piercing around the globe really adds a nice touch to the card.

Open Sea -1

A great birthday card, and could easily be used for Fathers Day as well. In fact, you could use it as a graduation card … reflecting on the direction (compass) of their dreams, and conquering the world.

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today. I hope you are as inspired by Linda’s card as I was.

Have a wonderful weekend ~

Flamingo Lingo Showcase …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Today I’d like to showcase a retiring stamp set “Flamingo Lingo”. This is a stamp set close to my heart, it is the Ronald McDonald House Chariest stamp set.

134306G

You’ll be tickled pink with the Flamingo Lingo Clear stamp set and the variety of cards you can make with this darling flamingo. And you’ll love that with each set purchased, Stampin’ Up! will donate $3 to RMHC. Together we can make a difference in the lives of children and their families.

Speaking of pink …

000_1399

Here is the first of 3 cards that I will showcase today using the Flamingo Lingo stamp set.  This card was stamped by my friend and downline member Cindy. It was a swap card from one of our Star’s Team meeting. Who does not love pink & black, and she created a focal point with the Oval Collection Framelits.

Next is a card I created …

000_1343

Oh yes … tickled pink again! I framed out our flamingo using the Square Collection Framelit die. The Coastal Cabana really pops with the black and Strawberry Slush (both retiring colors). I do believe that the scallop edge punch is also on the retired list.

Last but not least, is a card that we made at one of my Stamp Camps …

000_2166

This card was done in Calypso Coral and Crisp Cantaloupe … with just a touch of Pistachio Pudding. The 2013-15 In-colors will also retire (and the refills go FAST!!) which include the Cantaloupe and Pistachio!

As you can see … you really can make a variety of card using the Flamingo Lingo stamp set. There is still time to purchase this fabulous set … Click Here to shop now.

I hope you enjoyed … I have a list of ingredients for your convenience below. I will not repeat items (like the Petite Petals punch) for each card, ingredients will only be listed once.

Thanks so much for stopping by ~

Marker to Stamp Technique … Birthday Wishes

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Sorry I missed you yesterday … life just got the best of me, and I took the day off from my blogging.  I’m fine, more concerned with loved one’s right now, plus busy at work.

While at our stamping retreat my granddaughter burned herself when her bowl of soup fell into her lap. They took her to Children’s Hospital (after two non-productive visits at West Bend) where they preformed surgery to clean up the wounds. She is doing much better and wants to go back to school to see her friends! Doc say’s NO … not yet, they must heal a bit more.

I also want to send prayers out to my dear friend A.K. who is battling cancer. We miss you in our Monday club / and will at retreat … we love you and are praying for you every day

Today’s card share is a simple card illustrating the “Marker to Stamp” Technique. I also have a video below from our Stampin’ Up! creative crew.

000_2160

I used the Serene Silhouettes stamp set and colored in Blushing Bride and Wild Wasabi.

I teach my stampers how to hold the marker when coloring a rubber stamp … because it can be rough (due to the design) Lightly color your image with the side of the marker, never the tip. It will save your tip from fraying.

000_2154

I am happy to share with you a new Stampin’ Up! video and a card that I created using this technique. I will also highlight a few tips for doing this technique.

Also … New items are being added to the Clearance Rack today! CLICK HERE TO VIEW

Now lets watch the video first …

Hope you enjoyed the video and my card today. Please let me know if you have questions.

Spring Retreat Share …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Hope you had a beautiful weekend!

Just got back yesterday from my first of 2 Spring Stampin’ Retreats. I host 2 per year … one in the spring and one in the fall. This year I opened up a second “Spring Retreat” because we had so many requests to attend!

Our Stampin’ Retreats are “All Inclusive” … Lodging, Food, and Projects are all provided for our guests. This is their time to kick-back, relax and have a good time. We also have little treats and surprises during the stay. I can show you more in 2 weeks … I don’t want to spoil anything for my next group. I can’t wait to greet them.

After our stamping session on Friday night we host a Card Swap (exchange) and Contest.  The guests vote on their favorite cards (they are all kept secret) and when the voting is done, the winner receives a $25 Shopping Spree from me!

IMG_20150418_064730

Sorry for the quality of the picture. Don’t worry, I will be sharing the the card with you so you can get a good look at them.

… AND THE WINNER IS

IMG_20150418_064809

We had a little fun on facebook, the favorite there was #9.  All the cards were great, and we had a great time.

Saturday is spent stamping … and eating! lol (we do take breaks … a little time to explore the grounds / lake if they like) Here is where we gather to stamp …

IMG_20150418_211739

This photo was taken at the end of the night, so everyone was just finishing up and getting ready to head in for dessert!  Yes, we save our desserts for after stamping because they tell me they are too full after we eat.

It’s a fun time for all … and a great way to meet new people and go home with some fabulous cards.

Let me know if you would be interested in one of our “retreats” … I’ll be happy to answer any questions you have and/or give you more information.

I’ll be back tomorrow with the new “Weekly Deals”

Have a wonderful day ~

April Showers …bring me flowers!

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Hope you had a wonderful weekend … it was great to see the sun again! Today we have rain in the forecast, but you know what they say … April showers bring May flowers.

Well … you don’t have to wait that long because I have flowers for you today! I choose the “Flower Patch” stamp set and “Flower Fair” Framelit dies to create my card. Did you know that if you bundle these two items you can save 15% … that’s awesome!

000_2149

My color scheme consists of … So Saffron, Bermuda Bay, Old Olive, and Calypso Coral.  You can get the two tone stamping by inking up your image, stamping off, then stamp your cardstock for the lighter color. Others are stamped fully inked to get the rich deep tone.

I love having framelits or punches that coordinate with our stamp sets, it makes life so much easier than “fussy cutting” the flowers out! I popped  up the flowers with the use of our Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The greeting comes from the stamp set; Banner Blessings.

This uplifting set will surely bring a smile to many faces. A crowd favorite, this stamp set will be sure to shine. Recommended clear block size is D (not included in the set).

I stamped the image directly onto the card, and then onto a small piece of Whisper White and then cut out the banner to add some additional texture & dimension to the top of the card. It really helped even out the card since the flowers were all layered and popped up.

000_2149

Thanks for stopping by today … I hope you enjoyed the spring bouquet of flowers.

Have a fabulous day ~

TODAY’S STAMPIN’ SUPPLY LIST …

Simply Sunday … Sending Loving Thoughts

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

I hope this post finds you enjoying a beautiful weekend. After many days of rain, it was so nice to see the sun again.

Today I have a card for you where I have combined two simple techniques to create one beautiful card. I began with masking off a section of my card and sponging Mossy Meadow and Lost Lagoon into that area.

000_2137

Before peeling up the mask, I added the Bokeh technique … to create the background. Then I peeled off the mask and stamped the Serene Silhouettes over it using the Memento Ink Pad.

To complete my card I added a simple greeting from the Love & Sympathy stamp set.

The techniques of masking (with sponging) and Bokeh are simple to do and together they create a stunning focal point for your card.

000_2138

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today.  I have posted a list of ingredients below for your shopping convenience … just click on any of the items for details or to start your shopping.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend ~

Butterflies Thinlits and a Special Offer!

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Happy News!! The Butterflies Thinlits which have been on back order for (way too long) are expected to be at the Stampin’ Up! Warehouse between April 13 and 15.  And because Stampin’ Up! knows that the wait has been very frustrating for you, they are making a VERY SPECIAL OFFER!!!

137360S

From the day Butterflies Thinlits are again available through April 30, we are bringing you two special offers:

  1. Get the Butterflies Thinlits at a 15 percent discount–just $21.20!

  2. Buy any of the Butterflies Thinlits Bundles at the already-discounted price and choose one of three FREE Sale-A-Bration items (only available while supplies last)!

I am so excited to share this card with you …

000_2128

Today’s card showcases the Butterfly Thinlets and the Butterfly Basics stamp set (Bundle & Save 15%).  My card was inspired by one of my downline members … Kathy.  I will be sharing her card in an upcoming post.

I love the way that one of the patterns from the “Something Borrowed” Designer Paper looks like lattice … I then stamped the fern from the Butterfly Basics stamp set. I figured I needed to pot my plants, so I created little flower pots!

I used the Boho Blossom punch for my little Wisteria flowers, I think they compliment the butterfly so sweetly. Of course I’m going to grab my Rhinestones and add a bit of bling! What girl doesn’t like a bit of sparkle in her life!?

000_2127

I finished off the card (also balances it nicely) with the sweet greeting … “You Made My Day”. That is exactly what I thought when I read the announcement that our butterfly framelits are coming back!! It is from the stamp set “And Many More”.

The greeting is highlighted by using the Word Window and Modern Label punches.

I hope you enjoyed my “touch of spring”!  Thanks for stopping by.

Have a fabulous day ~

Something Borrowed …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Today I have a beautiful card for you that is sweet and simple. Spring seems to bring about wedding plans, so we to must plan … our cards!

000_2122

I began with the beautiful “Something Borrowed” Designer Series paper, and teamed it with a Sahara Sand base and a pop of Pink Pirouette.

The pretty little trim was created with the “Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border” punch, and was topped off with a Whisper White strip. The simple greeting comes from the Stampin’ Up! “Your Perfect Day” stamp set.

000_2125

I love the new “Something Borrowed” embellishments and had to add it to this card. It ties in so well with the Designer Paper! I also added some Rhinestones and colored them all (including the Something Borrowed embellishment) with a pink sharpie.

Just because a card is simple in it’s design, does not mean it cannot be elegant!

Hooray It’s Your Day Project Kit

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Yesterday I saw the cutest projects made with the ” Hooray It’s Your Day Project Kit ” on the Stampin’ Up! Get Inspired blog so I have decided to share the post from Brandi B. with you!
Set of cards

I am absolutely IN LOVE with the twenty cards I created that day, and I can’t believe the value this kit includes: wood and metal embellishments, twine, washi tape, tons of pre-cut embellishments, exclusive stencils, specialty card folds, custom envelopes cut from Stampin’ Up! cardstock, and more.

I mostly made the cards the way the kit showed me (why mess with perfection?) but I made a few alterations. The kit includes stencils for a spritzing technique, but I wanted to skip the drying time. So I just used a Stampin’ Sponge (item # 101610) instead of the included Stampin’ Spritzers.

card 1

The sunburst template from the kit made such a nice, vibrant background for my balloon card. The Multipurpose Liquid Glue (item # 110755) worked perfectly for the little wooden embellishments. It was clean and easy to apply, and my stars are “stuck” quite permanently.

card 2

This card has a fun file folder style. I glued my file folder shut on the edges, which meant I had to trim my insert a little smaller to fit. You could try closing the sides of the folder shut with washi tape. I love that this kit includes some blingy pieces like the quote bubble. They add so much dimension.

card 3

This matchbook-style card uses the scallop mask that is included with the kit. These masks are fun to use and make easy, pretty backgrounds. I love how each piece of this kit—every quote bubble, every balloon, all the accessories—are included. It let me make perfect, fancy, embellished cards completely on the go. In fact, the rhinestones in the centers of these flowers are the only embellishment I added to these cards. (Maybe a record for me!)

card 4
This card features a glossy print, which resists ink when you sponge (or spritz) it. The two-tone background looks so vibrant! And since this card features a built-in gift card holder

(and self-adhesive numbers are included), I thought about who I could give a birthday gift card to.  I decided to put the ages of my older nieces and nephews on front. I had one left, so I included my sister (who will be turning 34 this year).

I love this card kit, and I know you will, too! Whether you follow the instructions or get creative with it, you’ll be amazed with the fun folds and great value it has to offer. Order one today—this is a limited time offer, only available in the occasions catalog!

Happy Stampin’! Brandi B. / Curriculum Developer & Trainer

I hope you enjoyed Brandi’s cute projects and post as much as I did. You can always follow the Get Inspired Blog by Stampin’ Up! ,,, just click here to view.
