Simply Sunday: Creating with Scraps & Punches!

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

I am thrilled to share today’s card with you … it turned out so pretty! All I wanted to do was use my scraps up and make a cute card but it turned out better than I imagined. I like to wish all the Dad’s out there a Happy Fathers Day, and to the single Mom’s who do it all ❤

I started out with 3 strips of the Forever Greenery Designer Series paper, these were leftovers from cutting my Stampin’ Club cards. The designer paper made it easy to decide my color theme: Garden Green and Soft Sea Foam! The Garden Green was used as a mat for the designer paper, and the Soft Sea Foam was the base of my card.

Once I laid out the designer paper, I knew I was going to use the Medium Daisy punch but I needed to add a greeting … this I would create with the Triple Banner Punch in my color scheme. The sentiment comes from the Seaside View stamp set. I showcased this stamp set on June 14th … Click Here to view.

I wanted something inside my Daisy so I chose the Gold Glitter Dots …

The glimmer dots were not as big as I thought, but they worked … however my sentiment and banner were a little big for one little daisy so I added two small flowers from the Small Bloom Punch. I added one more embellishment to tie everything together … and it took the whole card to the next level!! Let me introduce you to the new Gold Hoop Embellishments!

Don’t you agree? The simple Gold Hoop brings together the flowers, the sentiment and helps create a focal point the makes the designer paper shine!

Simple … and easy to make does not mean your card has to be plain. Remember, this just started with a couple of pieces of leftover designer paper.

Thank you for hanging out with me this Sunday. I hope you have an amazing day!! Meet me back here tomorrow … I have more new goodies!

So Happy Together …

Hello my Stampin’ Friends,

It’s finally Friday!!  Wooooooooooo Hooooooooooooo!  I’m not complaining … my work week went very fast, and we closed the candy store on Tuesday because of the bitter cold, so it was a short week too.

Today’s card share will warm your heart.  A sweet and simple card created with heart … and with punches!  You can use it for Valentine’s Day or an Anniversary.

I knew I wanted to use our Red Glimmer Paper for the card, in fact, the entire card was designed in my head (now you know it won’t be hard to make – lol)

I simply punched out the red glimmer paper with the “Postage Stamp Punch”.  I then punched 3 hearts out of a strip of Whisper White using the Small Heart Punch.  Then I centered the 1″ Square Punch over the heart and punched out the square.  It is so much easier to center the hearts that way, instead of trying to punch the heart out of the square.

I mounted the white heart squares onto the red glimmer paper using the Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I then mounted each of the completed squares using the Glue Dots onto the Whisper White mat.

The mat is 5″ x 3-3/4″ and is mounted onto the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Since my “A Dozen Thoughts” stamp set was still on my table from yesterday’s card … I chose the “happy together” for my greeting.

Not to waste the hearts … I stamped the greeting onto one of them, and then layered it over the stamped greeting to add a bit of dimension onto the bottom half of the card.  The other two hearts are on the inside of the card.

You will notice that the main part of the stamping in the heart is “to”… for the two of you together!

Thanks for stopping by!

Have a “happy” weekend ~

Occasions Catalog Sneak Peek with Heart …

Hello stampin’ friends ~

Today I want to share with you a sneak peek from the upcoming Occasions Catalog!

Remember Eileen’s Valentines Card that she made with the envelope punch board …. you will see where I got my inspiration…

Here is my “sneak peak” …

I am using the NEW “Scallop Tag Topper Punch” found on page 35 of the new Occasions Catalog.  A 2 inch strip of cardstock fits beautifully into the punch.  You can create a tag, add the tag to your card, a book mark and more …. be sure to stop back because I have some cute “topper” projects to share with you!

Punch is available January 3rd with the kick-off of the Occasions Catalog.

The greeting comes from the “Tags for You” stamp set found in the Holiday catalog, along with the coordinating “Label Bracket” Punch.

They are available through June as they were put on the “carry over” list … Yeaa!  You can even bundle with the punch and save!  Yea again 🙂  Link to Wood Mount Bundle

Thanks for stopping by … and don’t forget to check back (or sign up to the blog to get the posts sent directly to your e-mail) so you’ll always know when I’ve got something to share.

Happy Day!

Totally Batty …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Happy Tuesday!  I hope you enjoyed yesterday’s stampin’ tip / technique with glitter, but today we are going to put away the glitter, because it’s time to pull out the punches!

Yep, today’s card share is a sweet and simple punch card.  Punch art is one of my most popular stampin’ events… those classes always fill up fast.  Today we are using the 2-1/2″ and 1-3/4″ circle punches, the owl punch and the 1-3/4″ scallop punch.

Again, I began with the “Witches Brew” Designer Series Paper (I’m trying to keep your supplies to a minimum, by using the items over and over).   I matted that with a piece of Pumpkin Pie and backed it with Basic Black.

The tree limb was cut (free handed that one) out of Chocolate Chip cardstock and then embossed with the “Woodgrain” embossing folder.

The moon is easy … punch a 2-1/2″ circle then sponge the edges to create some depth to the paper.

Next I punched out the owl.  To create his wings, I punched a 1-3/4″ circle and cut it in half.  Then I used the scallop punch to create the points on his wings … a small single circle punch would work too.  I just lined up the point where the straight edge meets the curved edge and punched 2 scallops…. then I line up 1 scallop and punch.  Yes, it’s a bit tedious but it looks cool.  If you have an easier way … I would really love to hear how to do it quicker.

His little smile and teeth were hand cut … it was easy and again, it makes him look cute (not scary like real bats – but that’s a whole other story!)

To finish off the card I added a simple ribbon, the 1/8″ Pumpkin Pie Taffeta Ribbon.

Tomorrow I have another little stampin’ trick up my sleeve, so stop back and check it out.

Thanks for “hangin’ out” with me today!
