Say Thanks with the beautiful Favored Flowers Card

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I’d like to share a beautiful card created with the Favored Flowers Designer Series paper that comes from our Sale-a-bration catalog so you can earn it for FREE!

Starting with a Fresh Freesia card base and adhere the Petal Pink designer paper to the bottom part of the card base. Stamp the Fresh Freesia cardstock with the flower stamp randomly using the Fresh Freesia ink pad. Rub the edges of the cardstock with the Fresh Freesia ink pad. Adhere the layer to the card.

Adhere the flowered designer paper to the Basic Black cardstock, the place a piece of White Twine on top of the Designer Paper and adhere the ends to the back of the Basic Black cardstock. Tie a smaller piece of Twine in a knot, then make a bow. Adhere this layer to the card.

Stamp the greeting on a scrap Petal Pink cardstock using its matching ink pad. Cut out the greeting using the label die. Add it to the card using Dimensionals.

What a lovely way to say thank you! Do you have this designer paper yet? There’s still time, but it will be gone in two weeks … Sale-a-bration ends February 28th!

Thank you for joining me today. Happy Galentines Day!!

Halloween Birds …

Hello my Stampin’ Friends,

Today as promised … I have a Halloween card for you.  You won’t need to hide behind the tree’s as these little Halloween birds are rather cute! Of course I am using the “Motley Monsters” Designer Series Paper and the coordinating Bermuda Bay Cardstock.

000_1562

For those of you who have been following my blog for a while, you know that I love to dye my “Silver Glimmer Paper”. Today’s card I dyed it Basic Black!  It really highlights my “Halloween” … which comes from the stamp set “Halloween Street”.

000_1567

I used my marker to color the “Halloween” and omitted the house and the happy.  This is a great way to change up your stamps a bit.

I highlighted two of the cute little birds with my circle punches.  Simple … Simple … Simple!

000_1564

Thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful week.

Technique Tuesday … Kissing Technique & Video

Hello Stampers ~

Today is my second post for Technique Tuesday.  I will be sharing a Stampin’ Up! video tutorial along with my card share… yes, I will have a card for you too.  I thought it would be a great way to for you to see how the technique is actually done… almost like being a member of my Technique Club.

I’m going to start with a Stampin’ Up! video that introduces you to the “Kissing Technique”.  Enjoy!

Kissing

with
Emily Montoya
Have you ever heard of the kissing technique? We’re not talking about the technique with your sweetie-we’re talking about the one with stamps! Check out this sample featured in this video, see how the butterflies have an extra texture? It’s the beautiful product of two stamps getting together!

Wasn’t that fun!  How did you like the finished cards … so cute.  Here is the card that I created using the “Kissing” Technique:

Now for my card …

I thought it would be fun to add a little “kiss” to the frosting on the cupcakes from the “Build a Cupcake” stamp set and kissed it to the “Hello Doily” stamp.  I inked up the the frosting of the cupcake and kissed it to the Doily to create the neat pattern you see.

000_0905

Of course I then had to pull out the coordinating punch “Cupcake Builder”. Ahhh, so much easier than cutting them out.  My color pallet for today comes from the Retro Fresh Designer Series Paper: Very Vanilla, So Saffron, Coastal Cabana and Baked Brown Sugar … with a touch of Strawberry Slush added in!

I added a touch of the Retro Fresh DSP and topped it off with the Coastal Cabana Ruffled Stretch Ribbon.  Speaking of “topping” things off… I colored 3 of the larger pearls with a red Sharpie, and the put them on my cupcakes.

Finally, my greeting comes from the Perfectly Penned stamp set.  I don’t know what I will do when they retire that set… I use it all the time!

000_0907

Hope you take the time out of your busy day for a little kissing 🙂

Thanks for checking out my blog today!  Check out below for a list of today’s ingredients.

Wishin’ you a terrific Tuesday!

The Fab Four …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

A happy Sunday to you!  I hope you are having a fabulous weekend.  I have been in my stampin’ studio creating all weekend … it’s been far too long since I spent an entire day stamping.

Let me start by saying that “YOU” inspire me!  Yesterday I showed you a simple card and said… “Just think of all the wonderful cards you could make using this layout and some designer series paper!”  So I went into my Stampin’ Studio and created “the Fab Four” just for you!

Now … my “Fab Four” are not the Beatles, however I think it is amazing that they are being honored tonight … “The Night That Changed America: A GRAMMY Salute To The Beatles” on CBS Television Network tonight … Sunday, Feb. 9 at  8 p.m. ET/PT — exactly 50 years to the day, date, and time of the original event – the Ed Sullivan Show.

USPress_05_sm

My “Fab Four” are much easier to recreate … LOL  I decided to use the same stamp set as I did on yesterday’s card; A Dozen Thoughts.  Then I chose the “Quarterfancy Specialty Paper.  All 4 cards will use these two items.  The punch and ribbons will change slightly.

Let’s take a look at the first card share following the exact same layout as yesterday …

000_0732

I replaced the heart with the butterfly and the red ribbon to white.  A totally different look, just by changing out the paper and greeting; “you made my day” in Island Indigo!  I will have a list of ingredients at the end of the post.

Next you will notice a slight change, as the specialty paper is the “clear patterned” paper.  It allows you to use any color … I chose the Pink Pirouette and the “it’s a girl” greeting.  With the use of the large oval punch and the basic pearls, you can create a simply elegant baby card.

Its a girl

My third card share … I moved the ribbon down closer to the bottom of the card and stamped my “Wish Big” greeting directly onto the new “Essentials Wooden Elements” .  They can be found in the Occasions Catalog.

Now remember, these cards look totally different but I am only using 1 designer paper packet … don’t you love it!

000_0739

For the last card to round out my “Fab Four” … I changed it up by creating a horizontal card.  Same card pattern, of a ribbon, designer paper, and a greeting!  The button comes from the “Naturals Designer Buttons” found in our big catalog and idea book.

000_0738

Banners are “hot” right now, so that is why you see them on two of my four cards… besides they look cool.  Just like the hairdo’s the Beatles had when they first arrived here in the US.

So I hope you enjoyed my “Fab Four”…  One simple pattern, one designer paper packet, and one stamp set can be your basic tools to create many different card looks.

Thank you so much for spending a part of your day with me.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend ~

A Happy Birthday Note … Quick & Easy!

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Burrrrrrrrrr… it is cold again this week.  This has been a “heck” of a winter!  Hope you’re all holding up … even those of you in the 60 to 70 degree Arizona warmth. (tee hee)  We’re jealous!

Today I’m going to share with you a simple layout that will work with any Designer Series Paper and Stamp set.  Of course, I chose one of my favorites… you guessed it, I’m using the Timeless Talk Stamp Set and the Modern Medley Designer Series Paper.

000_0720

What a fantastic Birthday card!  Gender neutral … that is always good when we are creating cards.  A bit nostalgic, and I guess that is what draws me to this stamp set.

This sweet stamp set should be a must have in everyone’s collection … I love that the greetings are included in this set.  It includes a “Thanks” … a “Hello” … and of course the “Happy Birthday”.  Seems to me that rounds it out pretty good.

This card is so simple to make, I don’t have a lot of instructions.  The only thing that I forgot to add to my list was the “Ovals Collection Framelits”.  You can find them on page 186 of the annual catalog & Idea book (the big one) or click on the link.

I must say that I do use the Black StazOn ink pad whenever I stamp black images.  I think it works the best.

000_0723

I added a few pearls just to jazz up the card a bit, and used my “Sharpie” marker to color them black.  You “MUST” use a Sharpie / permanent marker so that it does not rub off.

Stay warm … have a wonderful weekend and …

Have a great day!

So Happy Together …

Hello my Stampin’ Friends,

It’s finally Friday!!  Wooooooooooo Hooooooooooooo!  I’m not complaining … my work week went very fast, and we closed the candy store on Tuesday because of the bitter cold, so it was a short week too.

Today’s card share will warm your heart.  A sweet and simple card created with heart … and with punches!  You can use it for Valentine’s Day or an Anniversary.

000_0691

I knew I wanted to use our Red Glimmer Paper for the card, in fact, the entire card was designed in my head (now you know it won’t be hard to make – lol)

I simply punched out the red glimmer paper with the “Postage Stamp Punch”.  I then punched 3 hearts out of a strip of Whisper White using the Small Heart Punch.  Then I centered the 1″ Square Punch over the heart and punched out the square.  It is so much easier to center the hearts that way, instead of trying to punch the heart out of the square.

I mounted the white heart squares onto the red glimmer paper using the Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I then mounted each of the completed squares using the Glue Dots onto the Whisper White mat.

The mat is 5″ x 3-3/4″ and is mounted onto the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Since my “A Dozen Thoughts” stamp set was still on my table from yesterday’s card … I chose the “happy together” for my greeting.

000_0688

Not to waste the hearts … I stamped the greeting onto one of them, and then layered it over the stamped greeting to add a bit of dimension onto the bottom half of the card.  The other two hearts are on the inside of the card.

You will notice that the main part of the stamping in the heart is “to”… for the two of you together!

000_0690

Thanks for stopping by!

Have a “happy” weekend ~

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Well, the excitement of Sale-a-bration is upon us!  And, I did not forget that I promised a card share using the fabulous “You’re Lovely” stamp set.  It’s just one of the items you can get FREE during Sale-a-bration.

I also want to let you know that we still have our “Weekly Deals” going and this week we have some really great items on sale… more about that after my card share!

Today I used the “You’re Lovely” and the “Sweet Sorbet” Designer Series paper from the Sale-a-bration catalog.  With a $50 purchase (before tax & shipping) you can get either of these items for FREE … or choose from the other awesome products in the SAB catalog.  With each $50 spent … you may choose an item!

000_0674

I love that Stampin’ Up! added a touch of black into this Sweet Sorbet pattern because when you mat with the Basic Black it really creates an impact and makes a big statement.

I used the 1-3/4″ Circle Punch to punch out the center of the design and popped it up with our Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I also popped up the entire piece to create additional dimension.  I will tell you that “IF” I had the “Deco Labels” Framelit Dies … I would have used them instead.  Now you know what I’ll be ordering soon!

Finally, I just simply colored in the flowers using the coordinating 2013-15 In-Color Stampin’ Write Markers.

Guest Stamper … Connie H.

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

The weekend is here, and looking at the weather reports for Wisconsin … it maybe a three day weekend!  They’re predicting lows of 30 degree’s below zero for Monday afternoon. Burrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

If they close the store again … I’m hoping to get some extra stamping done.  Sweet!

Today I have a guest stamper … my friend and Star member Connie.  Each year I host a demonstrator retreat where the girls from my group, the Star’s, get together and swap cards, stamp, chat, laugh, and have a whole bunch of fun.

This is Connie’s swap …

000_0651

She used the Sketched Birthday stamp set, that we received at the Stampin’ Up! Leadership Conference last year.  She teamed that up with the “Epic Day This and That” Designer Series Paper.

The greeting was punched out using the 1-3/4″ scallop and backed with Gumball Green Core’dinations Paper.  Connie used the Window Frame Collections die to cut it out and embellished it with the cute little 1/8″ mini brads.

You will also see the “Needlepoint Border” Embossing folder was used to create additional texture to the card.

Now … if the front of this card isn’t cute enough, check out the surprise inside …

000_0654

Isn’t that sweet!  What a nice surprise for your birthday!  The cupcake was made with the “Cupcake Builder Punch.

I must say, our demonstrator retreats are a lot of fun, and I always come home with fabulous cards from the girls.  I thank Connie for this one.

Thanks so much for joining me today.

Have an awesome weekend ~

Sending Flowers & Get Well Wishes …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

One thing that cheers me up is stamping or getting hand stamped cards, so as I was a bit under the weather … I created a “Get Well” card!  That darn flu bug has hit many of you too, so I hope my card brings a smile to your face.

I began with the beautiful “Watercolor Wonder” Designer Series Paper… don’t you just love these flowers!  I chose the green/blue flowers this time and used the Island Indigo card stock for the base of the card.

000_0616

I cut the designer paper ( 4′ x 5-1/4″) for the front of the card, then I used the left over piece to cut the liner for my envelope.  I used the Envelope Liner Thinlet Die…which is now on sale!  I set the scrap piece aside because I will be using it later.

My “Get Well” greeting comes from the “Perfectly Penned” stamp set.  This is one of those stamp sets that when I first saw it, I just had to have it.  The font is so unique and fun … and who doesn’t want to be “cheered up” when they aren’t feeling well.

My greeting is stamped in Island Indigo ink and was cut out using the smallest of the “Oval Collections Framelits”.  I then cut a mat out of Island Indigo cardstock with the next size oval and punched out my first butterfly with the “Elegant Butterfly” punch.

I took the scrap piece of designer paper left over from the envelope liner, and punched out my second (smaller) butterfly with the “Bitty Butterfly Punch”.  I think the butterfly looks so cool punched out of the designer paper!

000_0607

I adhered the smaller butterfly to the larger with the “Glue Dots”  because it allows better placement and I won’t get adhesive on the wings … I like them moveable. Our butterflies must fly!

To embellish card … I used 4 of the pearls that are connected together to create the body of the butterfly, and then wrapped another string of the pearls around my greeting.  I added a few loose ones too, just to created a smoother, airier look.

Well … I still had a strip of designer paper left from the envelope liner scrap, so I cut a piece for the inside of my card and edged it with the “Finishing Touches Edgelit Die”, (which is also on sale until the 13th).  It really did add the finishing touch to my card.

000_0617

Hope my card brought some brightness into your day.  The pretty butterfly makes me think of spring (Wishing it was, while I was out salting the 1-1/2″ of sheer ice on my driveway)

Spring … I’m ready for you! LOL

Thanks for visiting me today.  Hope yours is a beautiful one.

Thanks… Love ya! Card

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

How are you today?  I am feeling pretty darn good, hope you are too.

I am excited to share today’s card with you.  I have been “piggy-backing” my cards for the past couple days … and today is no exception.  Yesterday I shared a card using the “Hip Notes” stamp set, so today I will share another design using that same set!

So my first task was to decide which image I would use this time, so I chose the “Thanks”.  Well those little arrows took me to the “Retro Fresh Designer Series Paper”.  I chose the pattern with “arrows” on it!

000_0602

You got it … it was the little circles on the designer paper that made me think of the “Circle Card Thinlits Die”.  I love working with this die!  It is so easy to use, and the recipient of the card just “flips” over it!  Ok … bad pun, I’m sorry!  Back to the card.

Well, with all these little arrow going on … I thought I would pull out my “Chevron Border Punch”.  I bought this a while ago and never used it yet!  Whew … I was really happy when Stampin’ Up! carried it over into the Occasions catalog!!

000_0600

Of course you can see that my color pallet was supplied by my designer paper … so I went with the Baked Brown Sugar, the Coastal Cabana, and Very Vanilla.

After cutting out the “circle flip card base” … I punched out at Baked Brown Sugar mat, using the 2-1/2″ circle punch.  For my greeting, that was stamped in the Baked Brown Sugar onto Very Vanilla, and then cut out with one of the circles from the “Circle Collection Framelits”.  Just as I said yesterday, I also used my “Magnetic Platform”.

As you can see, one little image can take you on a journey through an entire creation!  Another cute and simple card … what did we ever do before that “Big Shot” came to town!  I’ll tell ya, it was mighty boring around here.  LOL

Oh yes, and when you “flip” that card … you will get a sweet little greeting from the Just Sayin’ stamp set that I used a couple days ago.

000_0601

Thanks for stopping by and following along on my card making journey today.

Simply You … & … Me

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Yesterday I shared with you a glimpse of the “Sweet Sorbet” Designer Series Paper that will be available during Sale-a-bration, which kicks off January 28th.

Today… I would like to share with you another design from the “Sweet Sorbet” paper.  I want you to be able to see different ways the paper can be used in combination with some of our favorite stamp sets.

000_0596

I chose this fun and somewhat sassy designer paper and I thought of “you & me” … just think back on some of our discussions at our club meetings … right!

Well the next step was easy, and besides, I wanted to show you how fun the “Ampersand” embossing folder was to use.  I used “Pool Party” cardstock and the “Circle Collection Framelit Die” to cut it out.

The “You … Me” comes from the stamp set “Hip Notes”… it’s on page 18 of the new Occasions catalog.   This is the first time I got to use it and I’m so happy I can share it with you.

I cut the “You” and “Me” out using the Bitty Banner Framelits.  I also cut out 2 Basic Black banners out to act as a mat and give it that “pop”!  The card was secured to the Basic Black base for it’s WOW factor.

000_0598

I lined the envelope with the “Sweet Sorbet” designer paper using the “Envelope Liner Framelit Die”  which is currently on sale.

I must say, the card was really quite simple to make with the right tools, and so stinkin’ cute!  I want to let you know, that when I’m working with the “framelits” … I use the “Magnetic Platform” to hold them into place.  It is fantastic … no more slipping, and no more sticky notes!

Please note that there are very  strong magnets in the platform and care must be used  if you have a pacemaker or such.

Hope you enjoyed today’s card and I thank you for stopping in today.

Sending Love …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Today my card share is from one of the most requested card classes I receive… sympathy cards.   Usually when we go to our stamping spots to create, we are happy and make fun birthday cards for friends and family.

It seems to me that when you need a sympathy card, that is the last thing you want to do … so I am going to help out in 2 ways today.  First, my card share and then to invite you to an upcoming card class designed around those occasions when our hearts are just not into stamping … My “Open Hearts Class”.

Just remember, even though it’s a difficult time, the card you make to cheer someone up when they’re sick or comfort someone who’s lost a loved one – those cards forever touch their hearts.

000_0485

I began with the “Blessed Easter” stamps (comes in wood only) and just omitted the Easter greeting.  I did this by the “Direct to Rubber” technique, using markers to color the image.

The colors I chose were Elegant Eggplant and Wild Wasabi.  I then used the “Blender Pen” to pull color off my marker tip, and add it to the card, creating a watercolor look to the flower.

My salutation (greeting) comes from the “Love & Sympathy” stamp set found on page 68 of our catalog.  To add a touch of texture to the card, I used the “Flower Garden” embossing folder.  It’s very subtle but it added a nice touch to the card.

Just Sayin’… Two-day is Special

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Today I have something special for you … two card shares and a treat.  Why you ask?  Well, today is my 200th blog post!  I am really excited to have shared my passion of stampin’, some of my travels, and even a bit of my home life & family with you.

Yesterday I shared a few of my favorite things from the new Occasions Catalog, and told you that I would create a cute card for you with the Just Sayin’ bundle.   In honor of my 200th post, I didn’t bake a cake, but I have BLOG CANDY!  Keep reading …

The first is with the beautiful “Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper” …

000_0573

The card is sweet and simple to make.  I used two different patterns from the “Watercolor Wonder” designer paper.  The patterns coordinates perfectly so it’s easy to pick 2 to pair up.  Then, I simply stamped the “miss you already” greeting from the Just Sayin’ stamp set in Tangerine Tango, and cut it out with the coordinating “Word Bubble” framelits.

Ahh yes, and I must not forget the beautiful “Organza Ribbon“.  I keep at least 2 rolls on hand at all times because it works so nicely on a number of different styles of cards.

So, how are you liking the Just Sayin’ stamp set so far?  And how about the coordinating framelits?  No cutting … I love that!

OK … on to the next card.  With Valentine’s Day coming up, I just wanted to say “Love Ya”!

000_0578

Oh my, it appears as if I have another “SNEAK PEEK” … this time it comes from the upcoming Sale-a-Bration Catalog!  The texture you see on the card comes from the “Decorative Dots” Embossing folder in the Sale-a-bration catalog.  (I am currently booking “stampin’ parties” if you’d like to get you folder and more for free… contact me).

Once I textured the cardstock for the card and coordinating envelope, I used the “Hearts Collection Framelits” to create the focal point of the card – the hearts.

I wanted to add a bit of “zing” to the card, so instead of leaving the background of the heart plain, I simply dabbed my “Versamark” onto the white cardstock, then heat embossed it using silver embossing powder and our spiffy new heat gun.  Did you know it has two temperature settings?  One is for drying … the other is for embossing!

What better greeting from the Just Sayin’ stamp set goes better with hearts than “Love Ya”.  I used Cherry Cobbler for both the ink and cardstock.  I then finished it off with a cute little bow made with the Silver Ribbon.

Both of the cards have coordinating envelopes.  These were created with the use of the “Envelope Liner Framelits“.  I think it adds such a nice touch when sending your hand stamped cards.

OK … Now how do you like this dynamic duo – the Just Sayin’ Bundle?  Well, I love them.  In fact, I love the stamp set so much (and because we’re celebrating my 200th post) I’m giving away a “Just Sayin’ Clear Stamp Set“!!  That’s right … BLOG CANDY!

000_0581

All you have to do is comment on what “you” think about this duo!  One name will be randomly chosen on Monday night at midnight (central time) … and then I’ll post the winner on Tuesday.  You will have 24 hrs to send me your contact information (lindaluvs2stamp@aol.com) so I can get your stamp set out to you!  Good Luck … and thanks for following my blog!

You & Me …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Happy Friday!  Today’s card share is day 2 of the “Weekly Deals” showcase.  I also wanted to share with you some of the “new” by introducing you to the “Perfect Pennants” stamp set which is found in the “just released” Occasions Catalog.  This stamp set has a coordinating framelit die … Click this link to see bundle!

Here are the weekly deals I’ll be using today …

Combining these 4 items was really easy and fun!  I began with the Regals Core’dinations paper … Cherry Cobbler of course, and embossed it with the “Fancy Fan Embossing Folder”.   Then I sanded the Cherry Cobbler Core’dinations paper to give it that two-tone look.

I knew I wanted to incorporate a new stamp set for you, so I chose the “Perfect Pennants” stamp set. Since it’s been soooo cold outside, I thought it was time to heat things up with another Valentine’s card … or Anniversary card, and chose the “You & Me” greeting.  I stamped it with Black StazOn and then stamped the heart (from the stamp set) in Pink Pirouette.

Next I used the “Window Frames Collection Dies” to cut out the greeting.  And what else would I mat this with … why the Silver Glimmer paper of course!  I then topped it off with 3 small hearts punched out of the Silver Glimmer paper.

I then added a simple ribbon bow to tie it all together.  To finish off the card … I punched a single heart on the inside.

Hope you enjoyed today’s “Weekly Deals” showcase.  I find it challenging and fun to create a card using specific items!  Sometimes a card idea pops in your head from other images, and sometimes it’s comes together by choosing a few of your favorite things.

Thank you so much for stopping by today.

Circle me happy …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

As I said yesterday … I would make you a card from some of the items listed in the “Weekly Deals.”

Today’s card will feature the “Circles Collection Framelits” and the “Bermuda Bay Ink Pad“.  You will also get a “Sneak Peek” from the the New “Blessed Easter” stamp set!  Available January 3rd … tomorrow!!

Circles Collection Framelits Dies

Discounted Price: $20.21

Bermuda Bay Classic Stampin' Pad

Bermuda Bay Classic Pad Item #131171
Regular Price: $5.95
Discounted Price: $4.46

I have always wanted to make a “Circle” card, and since I was featuring the Circle framelits, I thought… “no better time than the present!”  What do you think?

000_0565B

I used the Bermuda Bay and Coastal Cabana cardstock and inks.  To create the circle card, you begin with a “folded” piece of cardstock.  Align your circle die (here I used the largest, which is the scallop) above the fold.  This will give you a folded card.  If you place it under the fold… you will end up with 2 circles.  Next, I layered the colors by size so I would end up with the white center.

I then inked up the flower from the “Blessed Easter” stamp set (in the new Occasions catalog) with the Coastal Cabana ink … “omitting” the greeting.  The greeting on today’s card comes from the stamp set “Yippee Skipee” found on page 37 of the main catalog.

000_0566

To complete my card and add a bit of dimension, I used my blender pen and added some of the Bermuda Bay color into the tulips.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Have an awesome week!
