Paradise Palms Card …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

I don’t know about you but I’m ready for warmer weather! The freezing rain … snow … YUK! So today I’m going to paradise! I’ve pulled out my Paradise Palms bundle and sat down to create something to transport us into visions of a tropical paradise.

I love the palm tree in the die set so that was going to be a definite part of my card …. then I decided to use the Granny Apple Green designer paper patterns from the Friendly Hello bundle, and this is what I came up with …

I used the leafy pattern as my background against a Basic Black cardbase …and wow, that really makes it pop! I die cut the floral pattern using the Stitched Rectangle die and then matted that in Basic Black as well. I attached it directly to the card front, leaving room for the palm tree.

The greeting comes from the Paradise Palm stamp set and was stamped on Basic White with the Momento Ink and then die cut with another of the Stitched Rectangle dies. I used dimensionals to pop it up.

I also used the dimensionals to pop up the top of the palm tree and then secured the bottom directly to the card front. I then added the white Elegant Faceted Gems that have the look of “Mother of Pearl” so I thought it fit perfectly with my tropical card.

This layout is so simple and fun to create with and can be used with any of your bundles and designer papers, but I just had to share a pop of color and take you to a warmer place!

Well let’s see if the warmth of this card gets me through shoveling another 3 inches of snow … lol. I am so ready to see green again, and palm trees would be even better!!

Thank you for joining me in paradise, I hope you have a wonderful day!

Triple Time with New Horizons

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Grab a cup of coffee because I have another video to share with you today … I’ll show you how cool your cards will look when you team up the New Horizon Designer Paper and Stitched Rectangle dies with the Triple Time technique.

I will highlight two different designs from the New Horizons paper. Sit back and relax and let’s get the video started …

I love how easy it is to create cards using designer paper and the triple time technique. So much texture and style without disrupting the beauty of the paper. Just look and how the lines in the landscaping still align ….

I stamped my greeting and the birds directly onto the designer paper and then added the mats and layered it all together. The little acrylic dots were added to draw your eye around the card, and yes … you may have noticed that I did move one of the dots to the left hand side to create a better balance.

Both of my cards are using the Evening Evergreen as the card base and mats … it highlights the pastels on the first card and really makes the greens pop on our second card.

This layering I not only added dimension but the pretty daffodil flower! You can do anything with this technique and the stunning New Horizons designer paper. Here is a close up of all that dimension …

Thank you for hanging out with me today.

Have an amazing day ~

Shake Things Up with the New Horizons Designer Paper

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I’ll be sharing my video replay of last nights Facebook LIVE along with the two cards. I showcasing the New Horizons Designer Paper and Stitched Rectangle Dies … also highlighted is the Sweet Conversations Bundle.

I love all the pinks and purples in this card and with Valentines Day right around the corner … I thought this would be perfect, and what better way to showcase the card than a “Shaker” card! Don’t we all want to get “all shook up” over Valentines?

Ok … just a little teaser there and a close up of how I did the greeting! Let’s take a look at the video. You can grab a cup of coffee (or your favorite beverage) and join me …

The card would have been assembled even quicker if I wouldn’t have had “technical difficulties” … Oh, if only life’s little problems wouldn’t rear their heads when your going LIVE … LOL

Measurements:

  • Blackberry Bliss: 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ Scored at 4-1/4″ fold in half
  • Designer Paper: 5-1/4″ x 4″ (to be die cut)
  • Basic White: 5-1/4″ x 4″ (inside of card) Extra strip for greeting.
  • Window Sheet: 3-7/8″ x 2-3/8″

The video shows how you can use the entire piece of designer paper on your card as I did here on my sample …

I thought it was just too cute to wrap my greeting in hearts, and it was a way to use the strip of heart from the die cut. I’m sure Stampin’ Up! designed it that way, but we like to think we can be creative too! lol

I really do like the “white” background on the card because it really makes the hearts POP!! I also enjoy stamping with my friends and getting their opinion … that is my favorite part of the Facebook LIVES! I love to share but the interaction with you, my stampin’ friends is what makes it so fun.

I thank you for taking time out of your day to hang with me and watch (or rewatch) the video. I really would love to hear what YOU want to see … If I have it, I will share it.

Have an amazing day ~

Thinking of You Card

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today, we’re going back to nature with the Beauty of Friendship bundle. This is one of my favorites because it is so versatile for any occasion, male or female … the possibilities are endless!

The beautiful color pallet and thick borders just seem to be a bit more masculine than what I’ve been sharing lately. I simply followed the colors in the beautiful Beauty of the Earth Designer Series paper. Let me share some information with you …

Card Dimensions ….

  • Night of Navy Card base is cut 4 1/4″ x 11″ and scored at 5 1/2″.
  • Beauty of the Earth Designer Paper is cut 5 1/4″ x 4″.
  • Night of Navy for the die cut frame
  • Early Espresso for the die cut tree

I used the 3rd and 5th dies from the Stitched Rectangle dies (I count from the center of the dies to the outside. Align them carefully by centering the smaller one inside the larger die, this will ensure your frame has equal sides.

While you are die cutting, use the small tree from the Beauty of Friendship bundle. The tree will be attached to the frame with our Glue Dots …

I used a greeting from the Inspired Thoughts stamp set. Because the “Thinking of You” stamp has more to the greeting, I used my Stampin’ Write Marker to color only the part of the verse I wanted and then die cut it with the rectangle die included in the Beauty of Friendship bundle.

I used glue dots to attach the greeting over the tree and slightly touching the frame. Then I used the Foam Adhesive Strips to the entire frame and attached it to the front of my card.

I really like the way the frame highlights this beautiful paper, yet allows the tree and greeting to stand out as well. I guess I would end up saying this could be a gender neutral card!!

Thank you for checking out my blog post today. Hope your day is a good one.
