Best Friend Ever …

Lovin’ what I do …

Man … I love being a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator!   If you read the blog yesterday you know I just met with my downline  (people I have recruited into my stampin’ family) and that I will be sharing those swaps with you.

Yesterday I spent the day finishing and packing up the Make & Takes for the Hostess / Customer Appreciation Party … Oh, I can’t wait for my stampers to arrive!  I’m so excited … we are going to have a blast!  I’ll post 🙂  It is amazing the lives you touch when you are in this business.

So today … I’m going to share the Make & Take I presented to the Star’s group…  A Masking Technique and a some stampin’ tips!

With summer coming to an end and fall right around the corner I wanted to share not only a new stamp set, but a something to really highlight it.

Lets begin with the masking, I used two post it notes together (if you don’t have the longer ones) … make sure the “sticky” edges are to the inside where you will be sponging.

I began with Daffodil Delight and started 1/3 of the way down the area to be sponged, this way the darker area is where you begin and you work your way up so the top is lighter.  You can always add more color but you can’t take it back off.

The Pumpkin Pie – start 2/3 of the way down so as you move up, it’s lighter and will blend beautifully with the Daffodil.  The Blackberry bliss will start at the bottom and again, work your way up.  STAMPIN’ TIP: I do this technique of sponging in a circular motion because that helps blend it nicely too.

The stamp set is the “HOLIDAY HOME” (135095) from the Holiday Catalog.  It is a photopolymer set so yo won’t have to worry about those smaller images falling off the blocks … they stick so nicely and being clear, it’s a breeze to align!

We stamped the tallest of the 3 houses in this set (there is also fun stuff for Christmas… very versatile) then we colored the house in to create a silhouette!  Don’t you just love it!  We left the windows alone so the color from our sponging would come through.

I just have to let you know that this stamp set has coordinating framelits (135857) and you can purchase it as a bundle (137631) too!  Catalog orders can begin AUG.28th in !!  Please let me know if you did not get your catalog.

The Green and Gold …

Yesterday I said I would share a card with you, that I created with the new August “My Paper Pumpkin”.  Well as luck would have it, one of the note cards was Green and Gold … and what do you think a girl from Wisconsin would do with those colors!!!

Make a birthday card!! LOL  It’s  a bit on the “manly” side, thought it was time for one.

The card is quite simple to create … I used the Banner Framelit Dies and cut it from the note card.  I took the star and trimmed it down to the star shape.

The greeting comes with the kit, as did the greeting banner … I just flipped it over because I didn’t want the pink lines to show.

Simply Sunny Saturday’s …

What say’s summer more than a beautiful sunny day?  We’ve had a few in a row and it seems to lighten everyone’s spirits.

So today I would like to share a sunny card that will make you smile and warm your heart.  I’m using the “Kinda Eclectic” stamp set.  Didn’t this stamp set just catch your eye the minute you saw it in the catalog?  It was one of the first sets I ordered.

My core colors are Whisper White and the new Mossy Meadow, with a pop of Daffodil Delight and Bermuda Bay.

Stampin’ Tips:

To highlight the sun – I punched a coordinating piece of Daffodil Delight cardstock with the 1-3/8″ circle punch and then sponged the circle and my sun.

To create the butterfly – I stamped two of the large butterfly’s (Bermuda Bay on Bermuda Bay) then punched one with the Elegant Butterfly and the other with Bitty Butterfly.  This way I have the same pattern on both sizes!  Clever 🙂

It’s all so exciting ….

There is so much excitement going on around here, I’m having a hard time containing myself!

It’s a Celebration …

Yesterday I told you that I would share the Paper Pumpkin projects that we made in last nights class, and I am really excited to share those and more with you!  It really is a celebration!

Let’s begin with the beautiful banner I made with the June Paper Pumpkin kit to welcome the ladies!  The pinwheels are adorable and you’ll be surprised with everything I created and all the projects made with this kit.

Here is a close up of the banner … I used the straws as spacers in my banner.  It adds a pop of color and a fun twist to the banner.

Each of the ladies in class made 3 pinwheels.  Two of which were on the straws so they could take them and add a touch of the Red, White and Blue to their homes.

The third pinwheel was used to decorate a treat bag filled with Jelly Belly Jelly Beans!  Ahhhh yes, our treats were also from the Candyman on Main.  Yum Yum.  Don’t worry, you’ll have an opportunity to join us for more Paper Pumpkin and Candyman treats!  Keep reading!

The little tags, the bags, stamps, ink and paper clips are included in the kit, along with the pinwheels and large brads.  Everything you need is included.

I’ll show you another project I made from the June Paper Pumpkin kit, but first I want to share the other two projects the girls made.  First is from the May Paper Pumpkin kit … some of you saw this one already, but it is such an awesome card, and so easy to make!

Their last project was this cute “SMILE” bag!  Each guest made one so they could take the rest of their projects home in it, and then they can give it with a gift.  I made the birthday bag to show a different take on this project.

We stamped the starburst tags and attached them to the Bermuda Bay circles.  The kit comes with the full alphabet circles with enough to make greetings for the 5 bags included in the kit.

A: It’s a surprise each month-anticipation for the surprise is seriously half the fun! No worries, though, you’ll have everything you need to complete the project: paper, stamps, ink, accessories, and more! (You may need adhesive.)

How it works:

Every month a new, surprise project kit arrives at your doorstep. Each provides the anticipation of creating a fun project to pin, showoff, and share with your friends and family-every month!

• Each month we send you a unique, surprise kit with a project-cards, journals, décor, and more! (We’ve even color-coordinated, measured, and precut everything for you!)
• Each kit includes stamps, ink, paper, and accessories-everything but adhesive.
• Each kit gives you a 30-minute creativity escape.
• We will ship your Paper Pumpkin on or around the 15th of the month.
• You need to sign up for a kit by the 10th of the month to get that month’s kit. If you sign up on the 11th of the month, your first kit will come the next month. (Let’s say you sign up on July 10th, we’ll send your kit around July 15th. If you sign up on July 11th, we’ll send your first kit around August 15th.)
• A Paper Pumpkin membership is $19.95 per month (and shipping is included!).
• There’s no commitment, you can cancel your monthly Paper Pumpkin at anytime. You can also skip a month if you want.
