Simply Sunday: Shine Bright

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Sorry I missed you yesterday, no issues … just took the day off.  With the holidays coming up and new staff to train, I don’t get too many days off lately, but I did spend the morning stamping with my Stamp Clubs … a little holiday gathering.  Cookies, hot chocolate, more sweets and of course stamping, and today I’m going to share with you a simple card that we made using the Shine Bright bundle.

The Shine Bright Bundle includes the Shine Bright Cling Stamp Set and the Jolly Season Dies. You can create custom die-cut Christmas trees, stars, and holly boughs in record time using the Stitched Brightly Dies.

On our first card, we only used the die strip that has the trees which were cut in Garden Green.  I began with a 2-3/4″ x 5-1/4″ piece and ran it through my die cut machine.  Then I trimmed each tree piece down to 2-3/4″ x 2″. We matted the tree with Very Vanilla cardstock but before we attached it … we painted a little Wink of Stella in the center so it would show through the tree … so subtle but pretty.

Our background comes from the Toile Tidings Designer Series Paper … it features traditional toile designs in classic Christmas colors–the perfect paper for a cozy Christmas.  There are 12 sheets of designer paper: 2 each of 6 double-sided designs.  This paper is so pretty … our greeting was stamped inside!

We used the pattern with the sleigh and carolers … now you can see why we did not want to cover any of this pretty paper up, even with a greeting!

This bundle can do so much more, so for the next few days, I will be sharing additional samples with you. Simply Sunday: Card Parade …

Where did the weekend go? Can’t believe it is Sunday already, however it’s the perfect time to grab a cup of coffee and kick back and join me in a review of many of my favorite cards.  These cards highlight the stamp sets, designer paper, vellums and accessories that are on the “Discounted” retiring list.

We all enjoy a discount of our favorite items, and I am thrilled that Stampin’ Up! has chosen some of our favorites to discount.  If you are on a budget, as I mentioned yesterday … you may also want to stock up on your cardstock as there will be a price increase in the new catalog.

Let’s begin with a little fun from one of my Stampin’ Retreats …

I created these cute little apron boxes simply by making a little box and gluing the die cut apron to the front and the back. The Stampin’ Up! logo actually came from the grid paper!

My next sample comes from the Beautiful Day stamp set …

Oh, oh, oh … do you love lace? If so, I have the perfect specialty paper, the Delightfully Detailed paper …

Woooo … this Laser Cut specialty paper makes card making so easy!  CLICK HERE to view 3 more samples using the Delightfully Detailed Laser Cut paper. You will enjoy seeing the different styles you can create with this paper.

It’s always sad to see one of your favorites leaving, but it’s pretty awesome when you can get it on a discount. This card was created using Vellum cardstock and the Detailed Dragonfly thinlits …

Once the dragonfly was cut out, I sponged the color on the back and I added the sparkle with the Irridescent Ice embossing powder … that has been discontiued but you can easily use a little glue and our Dazzling Diamonds – it looks amazing!

I’m happy to tell you that the next card share I have for you has double the rewards; the Broadway Bound Specialty Designer paper and the Happy Birthday Thinlits dies are discounted!

This cute and simple card was created with the Broadway Bound Specialty Designer paper as the background and the Happy Birthday cut from the thinlits die … it is highlighted by adding a piece of vellum behind it which pops the greeting while still allowing the designer paper to show through!

Another popular die set is the Hometown Greetings thinlets that coordinated with the Hearts Come Home stamp set. I actually used the “Hearts Come Home for Christmas” as my theme for the Annual Holiday Stamping Retreat. Here are some of our cards …

Here is another favorite that makes me sad that it’s on the Discontinued List; Large Letters Framelits Dies.  I’m sure you’ll agree with me that the creative possibilities are endless with these dies. My fav is the amazing technique: The Eclipse Technique

Although I used the cat punch, the technique is to cut an image and pop it up above the area punched, the Large Letters Framelits are famous for this technique. The “celebrate” from the “Celebrate You thinlits dies are also discounted! Check out my never seen before Eclipse Card done with the Large Letters dies …

These dies have a permanent home in my crafting arsenal for sure 🙂  Are they in yours?

Bowing out “Graceful” …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I’m going to share with a the card I promised a while back from the Graceful Glass designer vellum.  The beautiful stained glass imagery is perfect for coloring… and I used the Stampin’ Blends.  Because it’s vellum paper you can create stunning stained-glass effects with it!  The Graceful Glass has 24 vellum sheets: 2 each of 12 single-sided designs.  These are the samples from Stampin’ Up! …

And now … my creation, and probably my last from the Graceful Glass designer vellum since it is retiring in only a few more days.

I did not add the greeting to the front of my card as I wanted to showcase the beautiful design of the vellum.  This would make a beautiful birthday card, a sympathy card or what ever you choose.  I chose a very spring-like color them with Highland Heather, Flirty Flamingo – Light, and Mossy Meadow.

I used the Lace Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder to add some texture to the card and create interest to the eye. I enjoy using the entire bundle … the dies coordinate nicely with this vellum.

Simply Sunday: Serene Garden

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

I hope this day finds you well … and I wish all you ladies out there a Happy Mothers Day… we all nurture in some way or another. Today I have the perfect stamp set to celebrate women everywhere; the Serene Garden stamp set.  I find this stamp set simply stunning and I just had to have it. It has a bit of that Art Deco flair so I did it in black and white and a touch of pink …

The whispy flow of the greenery really draws your eye to the card and it was colored using the Stampin’ Blends … same with the flowers, they were gently colored with the Petal Pink duo to create some depth.  I colored the butterfly the same way and cut it out with the coordinating die. Let’s not forget that Wink of Stella … that is what gives the flowers and butterfly that beautiful sparkle.

The entire piece was popped up with the Stampin’ Dimensionals and the greeting comes from the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set.

I am sad that this beautiful stamp set, Serene Garden will be retiring in less than a month. Stop back tomorrow, I have another card I’d like to share with you that my clubs did this month.

Retiring Lists ….

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

I decided to put a temporary hold on our OnStage antics because the Retirement List came out yesterday, however there seems to be a bit of confusion because they are listed many stamp sets not because the actual set is leaving but the “wood” and “clear” mounts are being discontinued for the new Cling Mount.

It’s that time of year when we have to say goodbye to some products, but we can help them go out with a bang! These products may be leaving our store, but make sure they aren’t out of your life! Whether it’s a die or a bundle that you’ve been waiting to buy, now’s the perfect time to add it to your collection.

Time to say Good-bye …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

As many of you know, I am headed to Minneapolis this weekend for the Stampin’ Up! OnStage event!!  This is where we will get the NEW 2019-20 Annual Catalog and a first hand look at some of the new products.  I am so excited … I saw a sneak peek of the cover from demonstrators who are at the OnStage Live in Auckland, New Zealand!!! I found my first new love!!

But … with the new, means there will be some of our favorites leaving including some very standard products we use everyday.  Although they have been tried and true for me, I’m not mourning the loss, because I’m excited to see what will be coming down the road.

First up … Our Cutting . There will not be a replacement in the new catalog but there is a new product in the works and will be released when it is up to Stampin’ Up!s quality standards (I LOVE THAT).

The same goes for our BigShot … yes it is leaving BUT there will be dies and embossing folders that remain!! Wooo Hooo.  You know I’ll be shouting that from the roof tops when this new product is announced.

Don’t forget your retiring In-Colors … get those BEFORE the Retirement List comes out on the 15th of April.  I will have all then news for you when that arrives as well.

Sorry I put today’s card on hold … but I felt this was important news that I had to share.  I will be back tomorrow with my “Fun in the Sun” card!!

Beautiful Butterfly (You Move Me Bundle)

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

I am so excited to not only share one of the amazing cards that we made at our Annual Spring Stamping Retreat but to share my very first video!! Oh my gosh … I can’t believe I finally did this, with more practice I’ll be able to create some really fun information / training videos for you!!

First, let me share the card with you. I bought this stamp set because my Mom loved butterflies, it’s sad she never got to see this (well, maybe she did ❤ ) so this card and my first video are dedicated to my Mom.   Sunday will be our first Mother’s Day without her, so I need to focus on the wonderful moments shared together… with a smile.

I can’t believe this stamp set is on the “Retirement List”!!  Don’t let this one slip by, it is so pretty and you can make any type of card with this bundle.  Below are the three cards we made with the “You Move Me Bundle” … Two of the cards were inspired by fellow stampin’ artists/ demonstrators.

The center card I credit to: Patty Bennett … she used 2 butterflies on her card, I did a single butterfly.  The card on the right, I credit to:Shelly Godby … she used the “Reverse Masking” technique on her card and I used the Marker to Block / Watercolor Technique.  Can you see how different all of these cards are … and all beautiful!!

Now … I must show you how beautiful this butterfly is in movement. Yes, it moves, it flutters!! Just click on the arrow in the center of the picture.

Well now …

I can’t create a beautiful card like this and not decorate the inside. The cute little butterflies come in the stamp set that is included in the bundle. You will need the bundle to make your butterfly or humming bird fly.

True Gentleman

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

How are you doing today? I hope all is well with you.  Thank you for the kind comments to yesterday’s post, I am truly grateful for all of the amazing people I have met through my stamping and have supported me by choosing me as their demonstrator ❤ Thank You!

Today I want to share one of the cards that my retreat attendee’s got to make.  Our theme for retreat was “Caring Cards” … cards to convey our feelings for others, support, gratitude, sympathy and more. In that mix I thought I needed to add a little testosterone so I created a card from the “True Gentleman” product suite …. You can find it on pages 44 & 45 of the Occasions Catalog!

This is really a simple card to make but with the double fold it looks like it would be more difficult, not so … it’s just a smaller card tucked inside the regular size card and they open in opposite directions!!

My card base is Night of Navy and is adorned with the “True Gentleman” Designer Series Paper. This paper is so much fun … it has playful patterns and some great neutrals that will compliment the playful papers or stand alone! I chose the bow ties and glasses pattern paper to play off the “Lookin’ Sharp” sentiment from the “Truly Tailored” stamp set.

The coordinating punch was used to punch out the greeting and the mat of Tranquil Tide behind the greeting.  I cut the Tranquil Tide in half and aligned it with the greeting to show a bold background!

I really wanted to highlight the greeting so I embossed the background using the “Simple Stripes” Textured Embossing Folder. You can find that on page 5 of the Occasions Catalog with the Picture Perfect Party Suite.  I couldn’t resist adding one of the cute buttons from the “True Gentleman” Buttons … he is looking “sharp” you know! lol

Had to address the inside of the card as well …

And it was very easy to do with the sentiments included in the set.  This is a great stamp set for Fathers Day which is right around the corner … However, this is also on the DISCONTINUED LIST, so if you like it, don’t delay … get your order in before the end of May (the sooner the better) stamp sets are only guaranteed till mid May.

Great Stampin’ News …

Today I have some more cards for your from our stamping retreat.  I wish you could all come … we have so much fun, and I really love our new stamping area! So bright and roomy!

A quick post today to share one of the cards we made at our Annual Spring Stamping Retreat. The card features the new “Eastern Palace Suite” that is available to purchase before the new catalog comes out!

Stampin’ Retreat: Birthday Blast

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I have some more cards for your from our stamping retreat.  I wish you could all come … we have so much fun, and I really love our new stamping area! So bright and roomy!

OK … Hard to believe I started this post at 6:30 am, and now it’s after 6pm!! I’m going to quick finish before it kicks me off again!!

Here is a set of cards we did during our morning stamping session …

As you can see … we began where we left off at our last session, the Dragonfly Dreams! This card showcased the “Masking” and “Sponging” techniques.

Our next two cards featured the “Birthday Blast” stamp set.  This is on our retiring list and makes me a bit sad … but then I picture all the fun new stamp sets (wait till you see them!).

But before the new catalog comes out, here is one of the cards we made.  I cased this from Patty Bennett’s website …
