This cards For You!

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Today I’d like to share a card that will be just one of many featured at my New Catalog Kick-Off Party! We will be showcasing 7 stamp sets! You will make 7 fabulous cards – 1 from each of the showcased stamp set, plus you’ll get to use some of the new designer papers and embellishments!

Each of the 7 stamp sets will also have a coordinating board which will have 5 additional samples made from that stamp set!  If that isn’t enough … we’ll be raffling the boards off at the end of the night! You could go home with all those cards!

If you have not received your e-invite … then please message me (lindaluvs2stamp@aol.com) or leave a note below with your e-mail and I will make sure I send you all the information.

Today’s card features the “Wilderness Awaits” stamp set. I knew I had to have this set … so many of my friends are dog lovers, and well … that fox is just too cute! I think it will make great masculine cards.

000_2333

The elk is stamped on vanilla … I love that the designer papers take all the guess work out of coordinating my colors. The elk is stunning and I simply colored it in using my ink pads and blender pen.

I wanted a lot of color yet still maintain the masculine look so I used the Bohemian Designer Series paper, and mounted it on Island Indigo cardstock.

The greeting comes from the stamp set and was punched out with the 3/4″ oval punch (discontinued) but the back is actually from the bow builder punch!!  I just cut off the edges!

Hope you enjoyed today’s card share and that you consider joining us on the 13th of July (remember to contact me for more details) lindaluvs2stamp@aol.com   We’d love to see you there!

Thanks for stopping by, enjoy the rest of you day!

Stampin’ Technique Club by Mail!

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Yesterday I introduced that I will now be hosting a “Technique Club by Mail” … I have been asked several times if I would start up a technique club that could be done by mail.

Here’s how it works …
Each month with an on-line purchase of $35 or more (before shipping & taxes) I will send you a completed 6 x 6 Technique sheet which has the instructions and a sample of the technique for that month.

You will also get a minimum of 1 project (usually a card). Everything will be completed for you and sent directly to your home.

Here is just one of the projects that we did this month, using the technique, Blendabilites Meets Heat Embossing.

000_2003

We combined this technique with the “Chalkboard Technique” which we did earlier this year.

You can find what technique I will be doing each month on my website’s calendar. You may choose to participate that month with your purchase, or wait till the next month.

When you place your order and Stampin’ Up! notifies me of the purchase, I will send out your techniques! Don’t forget … we are currently in the middle of Sale-a-bration, so a $50 order will get you the technique sheets, projects and a Free Sale-a-bration item!

shopnow

It’s a great way to build your technique book, the only thing better is being in one of the technique clubs I host in my Stampin’ Studio!

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks so much for checking out my blog today!

Stay Warm ~

Happy Father’s Day …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Today I’d like to share with you; cards that I have created from my last Paper Pumpkin monthly kit.  This was one of my favorites because it was so simple to assemble but had just the right amount of layers … nice card!

Since my Dad is no longer with us, I created the cards in honor of my brothers.  This kit contains both the Fathers Day tamp and a Birthday stamp … so I made a sample with both and then a bit extra.

I will start with the Father’s Day card, because I followed the assembly instructions that were included in the kit.

000_1135

My second card, I adapted it a bit by turning it horizontally.  So easy … yet the card looks quite different.

000_1136

Sending Love …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Today my card share is from one of the most requested card classes I receive… sympathy cards.   Usually when we go to our stamping spots to create, we are happy and make fun birthday cards for friends and family.

It seems to me that when you need a sympathy card, that is the last thing you want to do … so I am going to help out in 2 ways today.  First, my card share and then to invite you to an upcoming card class designed around those occasions when our hearts are just not into stamping … My “Open Hearts Class”.

Just remember, even though it’s a difficult time, the card you make to cheer someone up when they’re sick or comfort someone who’s lost a loved one – those cards forever touch their hearts.

000_0485

I began with the “Blessed Easter” stamps (comes in wood only) and just omitted the Easter greeting.  I did this by the “Direct to Rubber” technique, using markers to color the image.

The colors I chose were Elegant Eggplant and Wild Wasabi.  I then used the “Blender Pen” to pull color off my marker tip, and add it to the card, creating a watercolor look to the flower.

My salutation (greeting) comes from the “Love & Sympathy” stamp set found on page 68 of our catalog.  To add a touch of texture to the card, I used the “Flower Garden” embossing folder.  It’s very subtle but it added a nice touch to the card.

000_0482

Simplicity is key… for those making the card and those who receive it … just a heartfelt note to let them know you are thinking of them and that you care.

I will be posting my “Open Hearts Class” on my website www.lindaluvs.stampinup.net  I will post full details including class details and time.  Date for this class will be Monday, February 24th.  Mark your calendar and save the date!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Holiday Retreat is coming ….

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

My apologies for skipping my post yesterday, but my daughter needed me … so I had to be there for her.  I’m happy that she wanted her Mom.  Sometimes as they get older, they tend to talk to their friends instead of their Moms.  Yes, she is OK.

Today I wanted to share a bit about my Holiday Retreat … the announcement comes out today!  It is one of my most anticipated events.  We had a wonderful time last year and I am so looking forward to getting together again this fall.

We stay on the beautiful Green Lake Conference center grounds…

000_1301

at the Christian Writing Center … and 1930’s English Manor.

000_1304

We stamp, we eat, and we have a blast hangin’ out with our friends and making new ones.

000_1299

There a fun surprises …

000_1286

fantastic rooms …

cwc-gray-room

and good food… Oh yes, one price covers it all!

Here are just a few of the projects we did last year … some are cased, and some are my original designs.  Either way – we have a great time stampin’ together.

Hope you enjoyed a glimpse into our retreats.  You should consider joining us sometime.

Hope you had a wonderful weekend!

Hello there!

Hello there stampers …

Today I want to share a card with you that I whipped together so I could announce an upcoming class!  It is my favorite new stamp set in the catalog … Timeless Talk.

000_0053

I love the nostalgic look of this stamp set.  I’ve always loved the old phonographs, my grandma and grandpa actually had a Victrola.  Oh memories (hmmm… might have to do a scrapbook page too).

126607S

My “TIMELESS TALK” class will be held at my Stampin’ Studio on Thursday, August 15th at 6pm.  I have the details listed on my calendar, and will be sending out the “Upcoming Class” list to those on my e-mail list.  Click on the “my calendar” to view.

The picture of the card does not show the dimensions (layering) of the actual card.  The “Modern Medley” (126926) Designer Series paper and the Real Red mat behind it, were cut out with the “Ovals Collection (129381) Framelits, then popped up with the Stampin’ Dimensionals to frame that cute phone!

Don’t you miss those kind of phones?  I had to laugh… someone had just told me the other day they wished they had the old style phones because you can’t slam down the receiver of a cell phone!  I just smiled … I didn’t ask.  But, it’s true! lol

000_0053

For the greeting, I cut that out and then added the stampin’ dimensionals to pop that up too.  It just gives it so much dimension.  And you know me, I couldn’t stop there … I just had to embellish it a bit further with the pearls.  They are always a nice touch and so inexpensive to use.

Last but not least, I added a scrap piece of the designer paper inside the card to match the front … why let it go to waste!  I often use the scraps to coordinate the envelopes (that’s cute).  Just make sure you adhere it down well so it doesn’t get caught in those automated sorters at the post office.

Pretty simple card to make, but it is so cute.  Sure to bring a smile to someone’s face.  And isn’t that why we make cards.

I hope you enjoyed today’s card, and that you can make it to my class … I know you are just going to fall in love with those cards.

Have a great day and share a “hello” with someone!

The time is now … look whats new!

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Hope you had a wonderful weekend!  I can’t believe it is already August … that means my stampin’ clubs start up again next month!

I host different types of clubs, however my most popular is the technique club.  In this class you will make a minimum of 2 cards that showcase a specific technique, then you will make a 6 x 6 technique sheet which describes how to do the technique and has a sample of it.

This club is perfect for when you have that “how’d she do that” moment – because now you’ll have a beautiful reference guide.  Here’s a picture of one of the techniques we did in previous years ….

 101_1208

As a club member you will also be using the newest product we have to offer… a great hands-on learning experience.  Here’s a video of one of products you will be using this year  …

Here are two of the cards from that video … cute, right?!

So grab a friend and come to the best seat in town!  We meet 1 night a month for 10 months … you will have a great time and meet new friends all while learning more about a craft you love – stamping!  Here is a list of club descriptions and more details …

2013-14 CLUB DESCRIPTIONS

This group will be making 2 projects (generally cards) and a 6X6 Technique Sheet.  You will create a technique sheet which has the technique you learned each month, along with instructions.  This club is for anyone who wants to focus on learning new techniques and have  a reference sheet to look back to.

12 x 12 SCRAPPIN’ CLUB ~ Friday Night

Product share …

Hello Stampers …

Hope those of you who attended the appreciation party are now caught up on your sleep!

Today I’m going to share some of the fun … and some of the winners!  Whew …hope my memory serves me right, because I was so busy calling ticket numbers, I never thought of writing down the names of the winners.

First I’d like to share with you the initiation that each “hostess” received to join me for dinner (stamping afterwards).  I cased this from a card I saw on Stampin’ Connection, but changed the color pallet to include the new In-colors: Coastal Cabana and Baked Brown Sugar.

The stamp “ I’m so grateful there’s you in the world” was very appropriate” … I love my hostesses, many have become good friends ♥  Life can’t get better than that!

 101_1409

The stamp comes from the “Chalk Talk” stamp set (pg. 12) and coordinates with the “Chalk Talk Framelits” found on page 187.  However, if you purchase them as a bundle (pg. 12) you can save 15%.

Each hostess received a bag (see below) with their Make & Takes tucked inside… Aren’t they cute?  They were so easy and quick to make – Great for kids parties and more.

The pretty Silver Glimmer Paper you see behind was a prize awarded to Corinne C.  for having the “all green” tag.  That was our kick-off to the give-aways!

 101_1416  6a0120a5bac552970c01901e23fd88970b-500wi

Tag a Bag Accessory Kit (130153) – $7.95

  • 10 large base tags
  • 10 medium builder tags

  • 40 Stampin’ Dimensionals
  • Coordinates with Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry, Gumball Green, Smoky Slate and Tangerine Tango

Another contest I held and one of the hardest was … Guess Linda’s favorite NEW Stamp Set in the “catalog”!  I know right!  Well, here it is …. TIMELESS TALK

126607S

I just love the “nostalgic look” and I think it would make awesome cards for both men and women.  So much so, I’m hosting a TIMELESS TALK CLASS on Thursday, July 25th after I return home from convention.  Click here for full details.

And can you believe it – I did have one person who guessed correctly … Kris H. (Way to go!)

Kris got to the NEW Candy Dots in the color family of her choice.  If you don’t have them yet, you will need to put them on your wish list – they are addicting!  They almost look like those “candies” we ate as kids (we don’t want anyone eating these).

130931S

Congratulations also go out to Kris H., Monica G., Cindy B., and Judy Z. for guessing my favorite stamps set from the cards we made… they all received the Vintage Faceted Buttons (this picture does not do them justice) they are so pretty and I use them often on cards and scrapbook pages.127555TAlso want to send out congratulations to all the “Board” winners, and Sarah B. for winning the grand prize!  Grand prize included a Stampin’ Up! bag, a stamp set, a scrapbooking kit and ribbon slides!

Thank you all for attending the party, and can’t wait to stamp with you again!

Hope the rest of you enjoyed hearing about our party.  If you would like to join this exclusive event next year … you may do so by joining one of my many clubs or hosting a stampin’ party!  We’d love for you to join us.

Have an awesome day today ~
