Garden Lane Dutch Fold Card …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Hope you enjoyed a nice weekend and got a chance to check out the four cards I made yesterday featuring the stunning Perennial Essence Designer Series paper and the Strong & Beautiful Stamp set.  Today I’ll feature the Garden Lane Designer paper (also on sale) the Daisy Punch, and introducing the “Dutch Fold Card”.

This card would be pretty without the Dutch Fold … the Garden Lane Designer Series Paper features verdant greenery and designs in lush shades and when teamed up with Blushing Bride will make you think spring for sure.

This pretty card folds flat for easy mailing but stands beautifully like an art easel showcasing the focal point … our punched daisy and foliage. The “Leaf” punch was on the “Discontinued List” … but has already sold out.

I sponged the Daisy before actually punching it out, that gives you more control on applying how heavy of soft you apply the ink.  I use the sponge daubers to apply ink. The stem is just a piece of scrap but tied together with the Daisy and Leaf punch, you have created a pretty flower.

I do have a PDF created with full instructions and dimensions for this card… I am sending it to anyone who purchases $50 (before shipping & taxes) during the month of May. There is also a second Daisy Card PDF that I will send along.  The cards are from my April Card Club and each PDF includes photos, full instructions, dimensions and a supply list.  You’ll love the step by step instructions.

Today’s Stamping Supply List …

With the Retirement List out, now is the perfect time to get those goodies before they are gone for good!  Remember, many of the designer papers are on sale right now!

Let me know if you have any questions on my post, feel free to leave comments below on today’s card.

Thank you for visiting with me today.

Simply Sunday: Celebrating Women Cards …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Happy Mothers Day to you! Today I have a special post for you … we are celebrating woman with stunning Perennial Essence Designer Series paper and the Strong & Beautiful Stamp set.  The Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper features hand-painted impressionistic imagery in rich colors and it’s on sale right now.

Today’s four cards are easy to create, just stamps, ink and paper … and maybe a punch!  Let’s begin with honoring our Mothers today with our Mother’s Day card.  All the greetings used today come from the Strong & Beautiful stamp set.

I wish you could see the beauty of this paper, it really does look hand painted on canvas… stunning! My greeting was stamped on a scrap piece of paper and then just angled for a totally different look.  I think it makes makes the greeting stand out.

The next card highlights the Blackberry Bliss in the designer paper, the soft hues contrast our strong like a diamond greeting.  This is the perfect card to send to a friend who’s fighting on the front lines of this virus right now…

Here is a list of the products I used to make my cards today …

My next card is perfect to send to that friend who is always there for you.  The soft pink flowers on this card dance sweetly across the hand painted background…

I added the pretty little touch of silver by cutting the silver edge off the ribbon and pulling out only the silver pieces … then wrapped it around to create an eye catching embellishment.

My final card is perfect for our 2020 graduates, whether it be high school or collage, these kids have really been through a lot this year. I think the sentiment is perfect.  I used the Everyday Label punch again (it was also featured on the last card) but this time cut it in half so I could use it to make my greeting the focal point.  Couple of rhinestones and your card is complete.

If you like your cards clean and simple, these layouts are perfect … and the Strong & Beautiful stamp with with the Perennial Essence designer paper are a winning combination.  I’ll be back tomorrow using the same combo, but we’re stepping up the card layouts … time for some “Fun Folds”.

Thank you for taking time out of your Sunday to join me.

Have a wonderful Mothers Day!

So Happy For You Card …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

How are you doing? And the family? We may not be as mobile as we are used to but we still have birthdays, graduations and other accomplishments, and today’s card is perfect to help that someone celebrate … So Happy for You!!  This sweet little card is the answer to any celebration you have coming.

Yesterday it was bright and shiny, today our card is natural and softly subtle. It’s also easy to make! We begin with a Blueberry Bushel card bases. Our lace is die cut from Crumb Cake cardstock and the edge was trimmed with the edgelit die.

I chose a pattern from the beautiful Pressed Petals Specialty Designer paper that included flowers in the Blueberry Bushel color, the light Daffodil color in the pattern was a bonus.  The edge of the designer paper was tucked under the lace edge and a ribbon and bow were added to tie the two edges together.

The greeting comes from our “A Little Lace” stamp set and was stamped in Blueberry Bushel onto Crumb Cake cardstock and was punched out with the Timeless Label punch.  I cut the top and bottom off of the punched Crumb Cake so the punched Blueberry Bushel shows through. Our greeting was finished off with Noble Peacock Rhinestones.

I hope you enjoyed all the cards shared from the “A Little Lace” bundle … if you missed any, just scroll back and check them out. I loved playing with this stamp set and die, and discovering how versatile a lace die can be!! We know it’s pretty. I hope you follow along as I’ll be showcasing the Pressed Petals.
Thank you for hanging out with me today. I’ll see you tomorrow.

Hello Friends … Hello Spring Card

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

I am excited to share today’s card with you. It’s the third card from the A Little Lace bundle and it just shouts “HELLO SPRING!!” And … It’s NOT retiring, wooo hooo!!  My card is is created with Daffodil Delight … bright like a daffodil standing tall in the sunshine. I’m featuring both the stamps and the die on this card to really highlight another way to use them …

On today’s card, I cut the lace die cut … you can actually get 2 squares cut out of the lace die cut. I backed my Daffodil Delight lace square with Whisper White. The lace design allows the white to peek through which really highlights the pattern.

I stamped the floral image with the Black Momento Ink pad and fussy cut it out.  Now it’s time to grab the Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends Duo.  I’m using the light and dark to add a touch of color to my flowers … most of it went into the centers.  I did sponge a very light amount of ink around in the darker centers.

Just like sunshine … I needed a little sparkle so I painted a little Wink of Stella onto the petals. Not to be outdone, the centers were colored with the Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blend and then I went over the top with the Shimmery Crystal Effects … and yes, I even sprinkled glitter over the top of that!!

Click Here to View Quick Video

For the greeting, I simply stamped it onto the Daffodil Delight front and then ran it through my emboss machine using the Subtle Embossing folder. This piece goes directly onto the card base.  The floral piece gets glued onto the die cut lace and then the entire piece is popped up onto the front.

Here is a list of all the supplies I used on today’s card …..

This card was fun to make and will send some much needed sunshine into someones life. You know what they say … “A handmade card is like a hug with a fold in the middle”.

Thank you for joining me today, I will be back tomorrow with my final “A Little Lace” card … but will be combining it with another amazing suite … Pressed Petals! Oooooh, it’s so pretty! See you then.

Have an amazing day ~

You’ll Always Be My Friend Card ….

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Hope you are enjoying this beautiful weather we’re having. With windows open and sun shining in, I created a simple but elegant card using the “A Little Lace” bundle. Today’s card is Monochromatic … I’m using the the beautiful “gem tone” Pretty Peacock color.

Since I keep it simple on Sundays I pulled out my tin of Laser-cut cards. You will find these on page 91 of the annual catalog, and on the retirement list 😦  NOW… 20% Off!!  Although these are in the Bird Ballad suite … I’ve been using them with many different styles of stamp sets. What a perfect gift … purchase the tin, make up the 12 cards (envelopes included) and tuck them back into the beautiful tin, add a bow and give to someone that you want to show your love and gratitude!

I begin with my Laser-cut card base and add a 5-3/8″ x 4-1/8″ of Pretty Peacock cardstock and attach it to the back of the laser cut design. I use the Tombo Liquid Glue so that is can be easily moved into position and there’s not adhesive hanging off the open edges.

On a 2-3/4″ x 3-1/2″ piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, I stamp my floral image in Pretty Peacock.  I use a Sponge Dauber to swirl some extra ink on the center of the flowers. Then I used the Wink of Stella to add some shimmer to the card.  Because Wink of Stella is a “wet” medium, it will re-moisten your ink and pull it into the rest of the flower, so I always start from the center of the flower and move the brush towards the tip of the petal … this gives a soft color to the tips. The Pretty Peacock mat is 2-7/8″ x 3-5/8″ and is attached to the back of your greeting.

On a scrap piece of Very Vanilla, I stamped the greeting with Pretty Peacock and punched it out with the 1-3/8″ Scallop Circle Punch (also retiring) and punched a Pretty Peacock mat with the 1-1/2″ Circle punch … not retiring!!! The greeting is attached to the floral piece and then they are both popped up using the Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I then embellished the front of the card using the Clear Faceted Gems and Rhinestones!

If you liked today’s, here is a list of ingredients I used …

Thank you for taking time out of your Sunday to visit with me. I have another card from the A Little Lace to share with you tomorrow too.

Stay safe and healthy and have a wonderful day ~

A Little Lace Card …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

I am excited to be sharing this card with you today. This was one of the cards we were supposed to make at my Stamping Retreat last weekend. It was inspired by a card that I had found on Pinterest, with a neat twist of my own! I was sad to see this stamp set and die on the retirement list.  For the next couple of days, I’ll be sharing cards using this amazing bundle.

My card looks similar to the original design (with a few changes) ….

I began with the same Blackberry Bliss cardstock base as Libby used, followed by die cutting lace piece in Very Vanilla.  ** When you are die cutting with this large detailed die, I would suggest using wax paper and our Take Your Pick Tool with the coordinating Brush Tip for easy removal.  And I cut it using a larger piece of cardstock 6 x 4-1/2 … that made it easier to trim.  If you cut it to size right away … the edge die does not want to stay aligned on the tiny edge.

To attach the die cut lace piece … I used Tombo Liquid Glue, it allows you to align it with ease. After the glue has dried, I trimmed off the edges.  Then I put JUST the card front into my paper cutter, aligning it with the dots on the lace, and then cut!! That pretty edge you cut off will be glued it to the inside of the card, making sure it aligned with the front piece. It aligns easy because you created it beforehand.

To complete the front, I used a scrap piece of Old Olive cardstock across the front in place of a ribbon, then I just added a few short ones in place of leaves … just a different look.  The flower was created with the Pressed Petals Specialty Washi Tape. It’s soooo cool!! And topped it off with a glimmer dot I had laying around.

My inside was cut down to accommodate our decorative bottom piece… measures 5-5/8″ x 2-7/8″ (In other words … just shy of 5-1/2 x 3″) I stamped the cute little images from the A Little Lace stamp set in the corners … the greeting on the front also comes from this set/bundle. It’s pretty easy to make.

I hope you enjoyed today’s card, here are the ingredients I used ….

I will be showcasing retiring products and cards that I had intended to make at my Stamping Retreat. It’s a great combination!!

Enjoy this beautiful day, and I will see you tomorrow for my “Simply Sunday”.

Thanks for stopping by ~

Retiring: Varied Vases Card Share …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Welcome to May and to a Varied Vases card share.  Today I’m sharing several samples of cards.  These cute little vases come with beautiful flowers … it will help to bring out the inner florist in you!!  And so many great sentiments to compliment your artwork.  Follow along with me today and check out all the different styles you can create with this versatile stamp set.

The “You are simply the best” card highlights the vase by sponging on the background and then simply stamping the flowers. The pretty Grapefruit Grove In-Color is another item on the retiring list.

The May Your Heart card uses both the Varied Vases and the Here’s a Card Stamp Set (item 149438). Adding a greeting set always gives you more options!

Let’s take a look at everything included in this stamp set…

You have several different types of flowers … the orchid is my daughters favorite.  I like the use of the vases on this next card ….

This “style” of card looks so retro and fun! Layering the vases with solid and lined images really adds dimension to your card.

The “Hoping Your Day Blooms with Happiness” card is totally different … it used just the flowers to create a fun background, that will highlight your sentiment.

The next is one of my favorites …

Starting with the beautiful Soft Sea Foam card base sets the tone for the card … stamping a little to create an interesting background gives you dimension.  The designer paper draws your eye to the focal point, and the Pearlized Doily (also retiring) really makes the white orchids pop!!  I also love the way they cut up the greeting … it adds dimension and texture to the card.

I hope you enjoyed today’s card share. You really hate to see things leave but the excitement for the new catalog is growing strong!

Safe at Home: Follow Your Art

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

It appears that yesterdays Best Catch card was a big hit on Pinterest! It’s gratifying to know that your cards are enjoyable. Today I have a card for you that highlights your creativity and love of crafting!  The Follow Your Art suite is filled with coordinating products that showcase how you love to craft … from sewing to ink refill bottles!

Today’s card was created at one of our Stampin’ Up! events, I love attending any and all of them as they are so inspiring and well … FUN!  I’m missing my stamping sisters (and brothers). We just found out today that they have cancelled our Leadership event and … the Incentive Trip to Maui. Achievers have the opportunity to go next year.  Anyhow, back to our card …

Our card base was stamped the buttons with the coordinating Bermuda Bay ink to create some depth to the card.  Our next step was to attach a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of the Follow Your Art Designer Series paper.

Our next step we stamped the “ribbon” image onto Whisper White and then colored with the Stampin’ Blends. So easy to use. Once our coloring was done we added a Blushing Bride mat to the back, which also coordinates with the designer paper.

We stamped our greeting and attached a Bermuda Bay die cut piece … this will pull they eye towards the focal point of the card. To really make it pop, we added another pattern of designer paper from our suite.

I don’t know about you, but I have been using my crafting as a way to cope with not engaging with my family and friends.  I will say though that I have learned how to Face time!! You can feel free to reach out to me anytime … we’re in this together ❤

Thank you so very much for “virtually” hanging out with me today.

Have a wonderful and creative day!

Two for Tuesday: Best Catch Cards

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Sorry I missed you yesterday (Technical problems) however I have two for you today!  We are all looking for masculine cards and I have two today that should fit the bill … Best Catch. I must say though, girls love to fish too!! That is a wonderful memory I have of my Grandpa, my Dad … and my Mom.

My first card will take you to a slow running stream where the sun hits the ripples of the water and creates a sparkling dance.  Don’t you just love the sound of water … it’s so calming.

The card is “almost” monochromatic … Monochromatic color schemes are derived from a single base hue.  The reason I say “almost” is because I’ve added a touch of Balmy Blue to the water, and the rest is shades of Early Espresso.

We began with stamping the trees across the background.  The oval on the card is actually “cut out” so it recessed on the card front.  Our fisherman is popped up and has dimension and sits within a fun frame.  And added the basket and greeting to balance out the card.

These are the items I’ve used creating these cards …

My next card is a “Double Z Fold” Card …

Double Z fold makes great cards that add so much “fun” and the inner piece can be made in any size … best of all, they fold down to fit perfectly into your standard size envelopes!

This card front picks up where the other card left off … the catch!!  The inner piece has our greeting and the back flap is lightly stamped to be used for your sentiment. When all folded up, you will not see that at all.

The front of our card picks up where the last card left off … the catch!!

Sponging a little Balmy Blue on the background to give you a watery effect and our fish puttin’ up a good fight! The fish and cattails were colored with assorted Stampin’ Blends. The blend so beautifully on the fish and make our cattails dimensional, without “real” dimension.

If you like this fishing side of life, make sure you pick up the Best Catch stamp set and Catch of the Day Dies … they are both on the retiring list.

Hope you enjoyed today’s cards and maybe it brought back some wonderful memories for you as well.  Thanks so much for stopping by.

Enjoy the day ~

Simply Sunday: Saying Goodbye to Lilypad Lake

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I have two cute cards that may bring the feel of a warm sunny day … and for me, a touch of sadness as I seeing a stamp set and dies retire. It’s the beautiful Lilypad Lake bundle, and I wanted to create that “lake” feel … I hope it takes you to the warmth and wonder of the lake.

I cut out my background in Whisper White with the Rectangle Stitched Framelits Dies (also on the retired list) … This will create the focal point, and was sponged with Balmy Blue.  The sun was cut from the dies included in the bundle.

Our bird was stamped and then cut again with the coordinating dies.  the water is also a die that we cut in Balmy Blue … before we attached it we covered that entire area on the sponged white with our Snail adhesive.

The bottom 1/3 of the piece was coated with the Snail (retiring but being replaced with something better!), then we laid the die cut (which I’m using as waves/water) onto the piece … once secure, we dipped it into the Dazzling Diamonds Glitter (another item on the retirement list) and WOW!!  We just pushed the glitter down onto the Snail to hold it better … It looks so cool.

Here are the core / retiring items that I have used on my cards today.  You can click on any item to check it’s availability … Order through me and I will pay the tax on your order during April.

Stampin’ Supply List …

My second card, also a sparkling water image, is how I’d like to social distance.  Actually … I should be saying goodbye to my retreat attendee’s instead of training at work, but I felt it was socially responsible to cancel my stamping retreat 😦  I am missing my ladies … and this view!

The water was simply stamped onto our card front, the boats were stamped die cut and colored.  Our shimmery lake comes from the assistance of the “Wink of Stella”.

The beach was sponged on to make it look like sand … and the relaxing Adirondack Chair comes from the Seasonal Layers die set (again … retiring!)  You should get a good feel of what you can create with this beautiful stamp set.

Thank you so much for joining me today.  Make sure you come back each day this week as I will be featuring some very special cards and projects!

Have a beautiful day ~
