Technique Tuesday: Ombre Stampin’ Pads

Today I want to share with you a video that showcases one of our newest products, the Ombre Stampin’ Pad!

I’ve done the Ombre Technique with my Technique Clubs in the past, but Stampin’ Up! just made it super easy to achieve the look.

Ombre isn’t hard—just use an Ombre Stampin’ Pad to get five shade gradations that fade from dark to light. Watch and learn the easiest way to create ombre effects.

You really will have fun playing with these amazing ink pads.

New In Colors & Better Together …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Yesterday I shared some sweet -n- simple cards that you can make with the new 2016-18 Stampin’ Up! In Colors and the Floral Affection Embossing Folder (set of 2), so today I thought I would “step it up” and create another set of cards using the other image in that set!

I also decided to feature the cardstock more on this card and use it for the base!

Yesterday’s cards were all made without a greeting, so today I have incorporated the “Better Together” stamp set! 

I love this stamp set because it not only has your greeting but it has verses for the inside as well! On the card below I used the verse that would normally be on the inside and used it at my “greeting” …

Then, I took the greeting and stamped it on the inside of my card.  There are no rules in stamping so you can do it however you choose!

Now … have you noticed that I have been changing up the ribbon as well? I used it differently on each of the 5 cards!

Oh yes … all of these greetings come from the same stamp set (and includes the verse for the inside as well). The Sugarplum is the last of my cards … one in each of the new 5 In Colors and each with their own greeting!!

Simply Sunday: In Color Explosion …

It’s a new Stampin’ Up! year and I’m so excited with the just released 2016-18 In Color selection.

Each year Stampin’ Up! introduces 5 new In-Colors … these colors are what’s hot for the season and it helps keep our Stampin’ Up! colors fresh and fun.  If you walk into your favorite stores you will find these colors in the clothing, towels & bedding and home décor departments!

I’ve created some sweet and simple cards featuring the “Floral Affection” folder and the dots from the Enamel Shapes Brights Collection.

I know you’ll enjoy these cute cards all while getting to know the new In Colors …

The Sweet Sugarplum is created with the Shimmery White card stock, all the other cards I used Whisper White card stock.

So … What do you think? Are you falling for them yet? I think this group of In Colors are going to be “Hot, Hot, Hot!” The Dapper Denim is a nice rich blue and the Emerald Envy … definitely a jewel tone – so pretty, and they look great together too!

These card are quick and easy to recreate and you can add “any” greeting that you need.  Create a bunch of them (The white embossed size = 4-1/4″ x 2-3/4″ & your In Color Size = 4-1/2″ x 3″) then add your greeting as you need them!!

It’s good to be back on my computer again … I thought “no more interruptions” the internet kept cutting out during my vacation (maybe it was trying to tell me something) anyway … come home to “no internet connection” at all last night! But I’m back up and ready to share!

This is the view of the Landmark resort where Eileen and I stayed. Our room is near the center of the photo hidden by the trees …

Part of the fun of Door County is trying all the different places to eat!  One of our first stops was Wilson’s and their delicious Chocolate Malts …

Trust me … that alone is enough to fill you up!

If you’re looking for something fun and some good food … try Al Johnson’s in Sister Bay. We had to stop and pick up some of their famous Lingonberry Jam. We actually ate there twice, once for lunch and then back on our last day for breakfast. This place has people stopping in the streets …

Everyone stops to get a picture of the goats on the roof. I thought I had the perfect shot before these two fine gentlemen stepped in front of me to take their picture.

My favorite for our entire trip was the Fireside in Ellison Bay. I had the “Jamaican Pork Chops” – just listen to this … Jerk marinate pork loin with seared peaches and pears, over garlic redskin mashed potatoes and szechuan green beans! OMG …

The pork chops were tender and juicy and the flavor combination was out of this world.  Not too hot or spicy … but just a little kick. It was just right!

The entire staff was amazing and Chef / Owner Blake Schar came out to greet us and see if we were enjoying our meal … YES, yes I was!  The Bloody Mary was pretty darn good too.

They took good care of us and the food is awesome … If your planning a trip to Door County – be sure to stop in at the Fireside in Ellison Bay. I may sound like a commercial but they really were that good!

I’ll share one more to say good-bye for now …

This was a shot from the pool deck at sunset … a wonderful getaway! We are truly blessed to live in such a beautiful state! When posting pics on my facebook page, friends thought I was on a tropical vacation!
