Ode to Friends …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Today I want to share with you a beautiful card made especially for a friend, because some day’s we just want to drop a quick note to say hi.

I began with Whisper White cardstock and embossed a border using the “Framed Tulips” embossing folder.  I chose Pink Pirouette because it speaks softly … like a friend.

000_1108

I then chose the flower from the “Love & Sympathy” stamp set because I love the way the leaves flow.  I inked up the leaves only with the “Wild Wasabi” marker and stamped my image.

Using the “Petite Petals” punch from the Occasions catalog, I punched my flower.  To get the pretty petals …. place the punched flower in the palm of your hand and press the tip of a pen into the center.  I creates not only the petals, but a perfect center to place your pearl or rhinestone in.  I picked the pearl today.

000_1105

My “friends” greeting comes from the “Sweet Essentials” stamp set which is now on the retired list, and only the wood mount is still available (Clear is Sold Out).

I hope you enjoyed today’s simple but elegant card, and that it inspired you to connect with a friend.

Have a wonderful day ~

Dare to Dream …

combined-poppies-800

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Let me first send my thoughts and prayers on this Memorial Day to all the service members and their families, who have sacrificed so much to give us the freedoms we enjoy in this country.  I thank you as well.

Today’s card encourages the receiver to “Dare to Dream”, so whether it’s a graduation, a new job or someone moving into a whole new life experience this sweet and simple card will fit the bill.  It’s simplicity makes quite a statement.

000_1093

I have been choosing to showcase simpler cards lately because our summers seem so busy, especially at this time of year.  Use this quick -n- easy pattern with any Washi tape to create your card and get back to enjoying your summer.

I will say … it’s getting harder to pick stamp sets, because many on the retirement list are quickly selling out.  The “Loving Thoughts” stamp set used for my greeting only has the wood mount remaining … the clear mount set is sold out.

The yellow checked washi tape comes from the “Gingham Garden” designer collection and is currently on sale… 30% Off!!  That is good news.

000_1095

As you can see, I added a bit of the washi tape to the inside too.  Washi tape is so fun and easy to use!

My butterflies were created by layering the punched Bitty Butterfly over the Elegant Butterfly.  I just love the way this looks … oh, and I used the “Watercolor Wonder” designer paper to punch the butterflies out of.  I used the “string” of rhinestones for the butterfly body.

000_1098

I finished off my card by anchoring it with the 3 rhinestones at the bottom.  If you haven’t guessed my color pallet by now … I used Whisper White and the beautiful Daffodil Delight.

000_1093

I have a list of ingredients at the end of my post for you.  Just click on it to view more details or to begin shopping.  We only have a few days left before these items retire for good.  Please let me know if I can help you.

Have yourself a wonderful day.

“Happy” Spring is here …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

I am so happy that spring is finally here … and you can never have too much happy!  And that is today’s card share!

000_1091

A simple card, but the flowers are so lovely I did not want to cover them up too much.  I am using the beautiful “Watercolor Wonder” designer series paper as my background.  The colors are Smoky Slate, Island Indigo, Gumball Green and Whisper White.

My greeting “You Can Never Have Too Much Happy” comes from the stamp set; Yippee Skippee.  The greeting is framed in a banner that I created using the “Banner Framelit Dies”.  Oh… that is so much easier than trying to cut a straight banner!

000_1092

I used the “Perfect Polka Dots” embossing folder on the Smoky Slate banner to create a bit of texture on the card.

I wanted to anchor my banner and balance out my card so I used the ever popular “Rhinestones”… adds a bit of glam too!  I colored my rhinestones with the new Blendabilities that will be available soon.

Here is a peek at the inside …

000_1089

We all have pieces of scrap left over when card making, but don’t throw them out…  Use them to decorate the inside of your card or your envelope.  It adds a nice touch to the inside and it creates a coordinating envelope!

Thank you for checking out my blog today.  I hope you enjoyed today’s card share.

Have an awesome day ~

Father’s Day Sneak Peek …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

I hope you are enjoying this beautiful day.  Well, it is here in Wisconsin and I hope it is for you too.

Time has just been flying and it’s hard to believe that June (and the new catalog) are right around the corner.

June is full of graduations, weddings and Father’s Day!  I think that it’s a perfect time for the new catalog to be released.  Today I want to share with you a “sneak peek” from the new catalog …. honoring fathers.

My Father’s Day card is simple, and done in Basic Black and Whisper White.  Sometimes simplicity say’s so much more …

000_1082

The train stamp comes from the new stamp set: Traveler.  This is a perfect set for masculine cards, people who love to travel (of course) and scrapbookers.  I can’t wait for you to see the whole set!

If you are signing up for one of my 2014-15 Technique or Stampin’ Clubs … you will get your catalog FREE!  If you are not going to be in one of my clubs, you can get your FREE catalog by placing an on-line order of $25 or more (and I’ll send you one) or join me at my KICK-OFF Party:

Back to the card …

000_1084

The “Happy Father’s Day” greeting comes from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set.  I am so happy this stamp set did not retire.  I find that I need a small greeting and this set works perfectly.

I finished off the card with a simple block of black and punched out a star from the new “Itty Bitty Accents” Punch Pak.  This is also new and available at the catalog kick-off party.

I hope you enjoyed today’s card share and I thank you for stopping over.

Enjoy the day!

Fabulously Fun Friday …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Hope you are having a good day.  I thought we would have a bit of fun today by going back and taking a look at some of my favorite retiring stamps sets and more.

Most of the samples are my cards, but this is a fellow demonstrators card.  If I have their names I’d be sure to share and give them credit, however on our first card, I do not have the creators name.

The first sample is from “Field Flowers” – page 67 of the main catalog….

102_5802

The clear set has been “sold out” but the wood mount is still available.

My next card share is from the stamp set “Gently Falling” on page 65.  Also retiring … both the clear and wood sets are available and the clear mount is on sale at 25% Off.  I will post a link to the stamp sets at the end so you don’t have to search … just click it and you’re at my store.

I made this card with my technique group … it is the Tile Technique.

Most of the time for the tile technique you use embossing with clear emboss powder, however, it was much quicker and easier to use the glossy cardstock and the Simply Score!  I am going to miss this stamp set … I love Fall and it’s amazing colors.

100_5947

Here is another card that I created using the “Gently Falling” stamp set …

000_0136

000_0134

And I can’t forget to mention the Ronald McDonald House Charity Stamp Set ($3 is donated per stamp set purchased)  The clear sets have sold out, but the wood mount is available and at at 25% savings!  Here’s two of my favorite cards from the “TAG IT” stamp set …

101_1359

101_1397

Hope you enjoyed our stroll down memory lane!  I will share the links for these stamp sets at the end of my blog so you can view full details or purchase before they are gone too!  These sets are going fast, and many are gone forever.

Here is just a fun fact for Friday …

The TOP 5 Countries viewing my blog!

  • United States
  • Canada
  • Germany
  • Australia
  • United Kingdom

Thank you for joining me … Have a fabulous Friday and a safe and Happy Memorial Day Weekend.

Faux Pinwheel Technique

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

I hope you had a chance to get outside and enjoy the beautiful weekend we had!!  I actually got to hang my clothes on the line for the first time this year!  I just love that smell.

Today I am going to share with you the technique my Technique Clubs did this month – the “Faux Pinwheel” technique.

Normally I don’t share these cards on my blog, as the are “exclusive” to my club members (a benefit of being in my club) but today I’m sharing because I want to invite you to join one of my Stampin’ Technique Clubs when we begin again in fall.

We create a minimum of 1 card and a 6 x 6 technique sheet, but normally we do 2 full cards and our technique sheet.  Minimum order depends on the amount of people in the club… no other fee’s required!!  So … your class instruction is FREE, and everything is prepared for you… just stamp!

I’ve hosted groups as small a 6, and up to 12!  We don’t get any larger than 12 because each club member will receive the hostess benefits of free stamping merchandise at least once!!  Gather your friends and let’s stamp!!  Leave me a message if you are interested.

000_1078

My first card was done with the Watercolor Wonder Designer Series paper.  The color pallet used is Whisper White, Tangerine Tango and Crisp Cantaloupe.  We created some added dimension with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder.  The cute little flower in the center was created with the Gingham Garden Washi Tape and the Boho Blossom punch.

You’ll Need to cut:

* Two … 2-5/8″ squares (Line between 2-1/2″ & 2-3/4″)

* Eight… 1-1/4″ squares (cut or punch) Can use cardstock or Designer paper / Cut 4 each

Directions:

1) Start with one 2-5/8″ square and put the corners to top/ bottom / sides so it looks like a diamond. Use the lines on your grid paper to align your pieces.

2) Adhere the second 2-5/8″ square over the top, creating a Star of David shape. Keep adhesive to a small square in the center.

3) On the first 1-1/4″ square: Only put adhesive (on the right side) so you can tuck the last square one underneath it.
* Leave a little area showing when adhering your squares so it appears like you’ve added a mat.

4) Alternating designs, you can now adhere the rest of your squares to the main piece.

5) When you get to the last one, you will need to lift up the edge of the first square and tuck the last one under it, then add adhesive to the corner of the first one to secure it.

000_1080

My second card used the Polka Dot Parade Designer paper with a Whisper White, Night of Navy and Old Olive color pallet.  The Pinwheel center is one of the beautiful Antique Brads.  I finished off the card with the 1/8″ Old Olive Taffeta Ribbon.

Here is a sample of our technique sheets … the are normally done on one sheet, but we also had a sample of our pinwheel, so the instructions needed to go on another sheet.

000_1081

Besides Technique Clubs, I also host scrapbooking and cardmaking clubs… but the technique club is my most popular.  Let me know if you are interested in joining us this fall… it’s going to be a very special year – I’m celebrating 15 years with Stampin’ Up!  The entire year will be filled with fun and surprises!!

I have posted the ingredients for you below.  Click on any of the images for more information or to being shopping.

Thanks for stopping in!

Have a wonderful week.

A Little Something Cute (Sneak Peek)

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

The sun is shining today!!  It’s also the first day in a long time that I have had to myself, so I think I got a little lazy with my post!  Let me just say … it’s worth the wait.

Today I am sharing with you a cute card created with some new products from Stampin’ Up!.  It’s a bit of a tease of what coming not only in the new catalog, but at my New Catalog Kick-Off party!!  I don’t have a date right now as I’m still waiting on word from the hall, but I’ll be sure to send invites as soon as we have things finalized.

My card is made with the new “Maritime” Designer Series Paper and is perfect for a new baby boy or a first birthday.

000_1072

My color pallet reflect the designer paper: Whisper White, Night Of Navy, Pool Party, and Cherry Cobbler.  The white, cherry and navy truly feel nautical, and the addition of the Pool Party makes it perfect for this baby card.

I used the both sides of the designer paper … the cute little octopus is on one side, and the fun waves pattern is on the other!  You will also find a strip of the “waves” on the inside of the card.  To anchor my greeting, I used the star punch from the new “Itty Bitty Accents” punch pack.  I also used the punch inside on my strip of designer paper.

000_1074

The greeting… “a little something cute…”  comes from the new stamp set, “Something to Say”.  It’s filled with great greetings and verses!  I added the inside verse “for your cute little someone” to complete the card!  This is one of the stamp sets you will be using and my Kick-off Party!

Oh!  By the way… I will have boxes and boxes of the new catalogs along with me!!  All club members get them for free, or anyone placing an order of $25 or more will also get to take one home with them!

I can’t wait to share this exciting new catalog with you!  Watch for my “Kick-Off Party” invitation!

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend!

Thoughts of You ….

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Not sure how the weather is by you … hope it’s warm, but here in southeastern Wisconsin, it’s chilly again.  So today I’m going to share with you a lovely card that brings back memories of warm sunny days on the beach.

000_1066

The background was created with a simple watercolor wash using the Aqua Painter.  Choose the colors that remind you of a summer morning (or evening) as the sandpipers cross the beach.  The color pallet for the cardstock include:  Naturals White, Crumb Cake and Early Espresso.  The warm neutral colors really highlight the watercolor wash.

The sandpipers come from the “Wetlands” stamp set.  The simple reflections are already on the stamp so no extra work required.  Just image them running down the beach.  I can almost hear the sandpipers call!

000_1068

The “Thoughts of You” greeting comes from the very versatile stamp set – Loving Thoughts.  A fitting name for this stamp set!  I am really sorry that this is one of the stamp sets on the Discontinued Stamp List.  All good things must come to an end … only to make room for more beautiful sets!

Below is a list of ingredients used to make the card, just click on the item for more details or to begin shopping.

Thank you for coming along with me on my walk on the beach.

Wishing you a warm and sunny weekend ~

Introducing … Endless Birthday Wishes Stamp Set

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Stampin’ Up! just released another Photopolymer Stamp Set … Endless Birthday Wishes.  I love the ability to “say it the way you want” by putting together these fun greetings.  The handwritten font is fun and easy to read!

6a00e54f95df92883401a3fd08a5aa970b-500wi

Today I am sharing a quick post from our “Inspired By” blog from Stampin’ Up! and Concept Artist: Jen C.

She has some really cute cards and projects that were just to precious not to share with you!

Endless Birthday Wishes

Working for Stampin’ Up! is an incredible experience. There are so many great opportunities—such as the chance to design stamp sets. Our employees and demonstrators have accepted me into the Stampin’ Up! family and have embraced my unique skills and abilities. I’m continually growing as a person and an artist. I feel blessed to be a part of something so amazing!

I’m excited to share our newest photopolymer set, Endless Birthday Wishes (Item# 137553), which includes some of my handwritten words and drawings. It’s similar to the set we offered for the holidays last year called Endless Wishes. The concept is that you can build lots of different birthday greetings (and more) by combining the handwritten words with typed words and phrases. And with photopolymer stamps (US/CA), grouping words and phrases together is simple.

Enjoy! I’m excited to see what you make with this new set.

Jen C.
Concept Artist

I loved her ideas!  Jen has totally sold me on this awesome new set, and I’m putting my order in today!  Here is the flyer with all the details …
