Two for Tuesday: Baby Wipe Technique

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

How is your week going so far? Hope well … as today I’m sharing two cute cards that showcases the Baby Wipe Technique. You will see two different ways to use those baby wipes.

I am using the Borders Abound stamp set, baby wipes, and Pool Party, Coastal Cabana and Pacific Point. You begin by laying out your baby wipes (I used the kind from the $ $tore) and then you add a few drops of ink in each color onto your baby wipe…

I chose these colors because I picked the snowflake border from the Borders Abound stamp set … now you can use this “inked” baby wipe as your new multi-colored stamp pad. I’m starting simple on my first card ….

I stamped my “multi-colored” snowflakes near the bottom and then added my Christmas greeting … this comes from the “Arrange a Wreath” stamp set. I believe I used this on the 5 cards I shared with you on Sunday (Click Here to View). The snowflakes were kissed with Wink of Stella … just a touch to add a subtle sparkle, and then I layered with the Pool Party to tie it all together. I wish the picture showed the Wink of Stella … so delicate.

My next Baby Wipe technique card, I used the same snowflake border stamp, but this time it’s inked with VersaMark so I can emboss my Whisper White card front in Clear Embossing Powder. Once embossed …. I took my “inked” baby wipe and ran it over the clear embossed image. WOW What a fun impact it creates on your card …

I trimmed my baby “wiped” card front and mounted it onto some Pacific Point. The white background was “speckled” with the Wink of Stella. Tap your Wink of Stella pen against another pen or a block to sprinkle the Stella onto the background … it’s beautiful! The little Wink of Stella spots shimmer and the heavier ones look silver, and they add such a wintry touch to your card.

I’m thrilled that you can actually see the little shimmer and silver spots from the Wink of Stella. And I love the look of “brush strokes” on this card … it appears as if you hand painted it!

This is one of those fun techniques (one of my favorites for Fall cards) where you get more bang for your buck because you can create two different looks from your Baby Wipe technique.

I’m not sure about you … but I come away with inky fingers when I do the “dragging” on the Baby Wipe technique. Some like to wear gloves, I don’t mind the inky fingers unless I’m going someplace nice.

I hope you enjoyed today’s technique and cards … I’d love to know what you’d like to see. Leave a comment below so I can better meet your stamping needs.

Thanks for the visit today, it’s appreciated. See you tomorrow!

Throwback Thursday: Autumn Leaves

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

OK – there are way too many leaves off the tree’s already … Where did autumn go? This is my favorite time of year and I feel like I was so busy that I missed it!

Today I’m sharing a card that I made last year.  This was a fun card to make, I used the “Baby Wipe” technique to get all this color …

I knew I wanted to use the “Sheltering Tree” stamp set, and the “Baby Wipe” technique is the easiest and quickest way to create the explosion of color. I laid out a stack of 4 – 5 baby wipes and began dropping ink from the refill bottles.

I used Old Olive, Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie and Real Red re-inkers, then pressed the leaves into the inked up baby wipe and stamped it onto the tree which was already stamped in Chocolate Chip.

I added the leaves to create my ground cover and then added a greeting which is included in the stamp set.  Unfortunately the Curvy Corner Trio Punch was discontinued…. I miss it!

A simple card yes, but too pretty to resist.

Thank you for joining me today,

I hope you have a good day.

Simply Thankful Sunday …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

A happy Sunday to you! Today I am going to share another transformation of Motley Monsters to a pretty card of “thanks”.

000_1665

I began with a Tangerine Tango base and the Tango stripped Motley Monsters Designer Paper. I used the “thanks” from Seasonally Scattered … the multiple colors come from the Baby Wipe Technique. The “thanks” was highlighted by adding a touch of glitter.

I used the “Apothecary Accents” framelits to highlight our stamped design and was matted with Old Olive. I actually “fussy cut” the mat.

I added a sweet button from the “Very Vintage” buttons… it was colored with the Old Olive blendabilities and topped off with a pumpkin bow. The results are a cute, simple card of thanks.
