Split Card Technique 2

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I’m going to share more of the cards that I made using the Split Card Technique. This technique is quick -n- easy on only uses a 4″ x 4″ piece of designer paper … NO Waste! I am also keeping the video on my blog so you can watch it again. Did you know that if you use your mouse to “hover” over my little picture – you can subscribe to my YouTube Channel right away … How cool is that!

OK … Lets start with the first card (remember to watch the video to learn how/where to cut) … this is the most simple of the three cards. I just cut my Paper Blooms designer paper and attached it directly to the card. Then using the “Ornate Thanks” stamp set, I stamped the Thank You in Soft Sea Foam and then the coordinating sentiment is stamped in Night of Navy … both colors are in our designer paper (No Guessing) so easy!

Our next card adds in a piece of Basic White cardstock … it’s cut 4″ x 5-1/4″ and I layered my Paper Blooms Designer paper and attached it to the top and the bottom, leaving only the center exposed. I stamped my greeting exactly the same on this one as I did the last … just to show the difference. It does lighten up the card a little and makes the greeting pop more.

What is fun about these cards is that each one is slightly different … the Paper Blooms has a scattered pattern of flowers, you will find other papers that will allow them all to look a like.

On our last card …. I am using the Basic White cardstock again, but this time I’ve let some of it exposed on the top and the bottom of the card. It creates a nice balance. To add some texture to the card, I wrapped some white Bakers Twine around it and tied a double bow. My greeting is stamped in Soft Sea Foam and comes from the Celebrate Sunflowers stamp set.

The video will show you two ways to cut your 12 x 12 designer paper and then give you samples so you can get a better picture of what I want to show you. Sit back … relax … enjoy …

I hope you enjoyed getting a close up look at these cards and another look at the video. I love to hear when you are excited about a new technique, thank you!

Split Card Technique w/ Paper Saving Tips

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

I am really excited to not only share this technique video with you, but all the cards you can create using this technique. The special thing about the “Split Card” technique is that you’ll also learn how to save or should I say “Maximize” your 12 x 12 Designer paper!

The video will show you two ways to cut your 12 x 12 designer paper and then give you samples so you can get a better picture of what I want to show you. Sit back … relax … enjoy …

So what did you think? Cool right!? I love sharing these types of hints so you can maximize the use of your Stampin’ Up! products. I love designer paper, it is a “must have” in my stampin’ supplies … it is the best for quick -n- easy cards, and because the paper is so pretty, no extra work would have to be done.

I hope the video showed you how to use your 4 x 6 cut pieces … here I’d like to share a close up of the 4 x 4 pieces. You will get 9 pieces out of the 12 x 12 sheet, and first up we’re going to create a simple card by placing the 4 x 4 piece directly onto the card front.

I used the Stitched Rectangle dies and the Celebrate Sunflowers stamp set for my greeting which create a nice focal point. To pull some color over on the side with no paper, I fussy cut out one of the flowers from the designer paper and popped it up with the Stampin’ Dimensionals … it really adds a nice balance to your card. I added some Wink of Stella to the light blue on the flower and added an Opal Round element.

This designer paper is fun and playful and I’ve really fallen in love with it! I decided to fussy cut a few more flowers and put them on this inside of the card … I didn’t want the fun to end!

It looks like it was meant to be there … see what I mean, the fun keeps on going. You could add the Wink of Stella to the inside too if you’d like.

My next card is the “SPLIT CARD” … taking that 4″ x 4″ piece of paper and cutting it diagonally. I placed the cut pieces onto the top and bottom of the 4″ x 5-1/4″ white piece of cardstock because I was using a dark (Night of Navy) card base.

I liked the cut flowers and the Wink of Stella so much on the first card that I carried that over onto this card. It brings in more color and dimension to the card. I also added some of the Opal Rounds elements to the flowers as well.

Isn’t this just the cutest paper, and doesn’t it make the cutest cards … 9 of them you’ll get using this paper saving way of cutting your 12 x 12 designer paper. Now I can see why the Paper Blooms Designer Paper is one of the Top 3 Sale-a-bration items chosen by YOU!

I would really like to Thank You for hanging out with me today on my blog, and last night if you joined me for the LIVE presentation as well. These cards would surely cheer someone up … and remember, the Paper Blooms Designer Series Paper is FREE during Sale-a-bration with a $50 purchase but the layouts I shared are forever!

I would also like you to consider joining my team, we have lots of fun … and the fun just keeps on going, with additional stampin’ gatherings and Stampin’ Up! events. This really states how I feel …

My friends are YOU … my team of Stars … and my fellow Stampin’ Sisters (and brothers!) We are a family I’m here to answer any of your questions… just don’t be afraid to ask.

Have an awesome day, and for those who live around me … stay safe!!

Sunflower Thanks …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Yikes … sorry for the late post but I promised I would share another Celebrate Sunflowers with you, and I got a cutie for you today! Using some of the same techniques as yesterday and then “WOW” … I used the large sunflower colored with the Stampin’ Blends.

Just like yesterday, I stamped the background but instead of covering the entire card, I just edged the sides with the little sunflowers. Then I used a Sponge Dauber to add a touch of ink to the centers of the little flowers, and then around the outsides of the flower … this technique does 2 things; it highlights the small sunflowers, and then leaves the center bright and open which then highlights the large sunflower as well.

The next step is to stamp the large Sunflower image … I used the Black Tuxedo Momento ink (it’s the best when coloring with Stampin’ Blends) I”m actually going to die cut “after” coloring.

I used the Light and Dark Daffodil Delight and the Light Soft Suede Stampin’ Blends to color my sunflower. I start with the Light Daffodil Delight, the color the lines with the Dark Daffodil Delight and then used the light to blend the two colors. The Light Soft Suede was used mostly in the center and then a little in the base of the petals to create real depth.

I stamped my greeting onto a 3/4″ piece of Very Vanilla using the Momento Ink and then I cut it out to create an interesting twist to the card… I think it highlights the pretty “script”. It is then placed over the Bumble Bee Ribbon.

JOIN ME … tomorrow as I do a “FACEBOOK LIVE” to demonstrate how I use my Stampin’ Blends for coloring. I will be on my Linda’s Stampin’ Escape Facebook page … meet me at 6pm/central time!

Thank you for hanging out and waiting for my post today!!

Enjoy the rest of your day ~
