Rudolph & Santa’s Sleigh …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Back today with the second of my two December Club Cards …

I used Santa’s Sleigh bundle.  I began with the Real Red base and the Candy Cane Lane Designer Series paper for my background. I then stamped Rudolf with Soft Suede onto Soft Suede cardstock …. then cut him out with the coordinating framelit…

000_3898

The sleigh was created by layering two of the die cuts … the main part of the sleigh was cut from the Gold Foil paper and then the ornate outside was cut from Real Red cardstock.

Rudolph’s reins were made with the Candy Cane Lane Bakers Twine … it connects the white from the background and the red from the sleigh so everything coordinates.

We did a partial tree using the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper, another thinlit from the bundle.  We finished off the card with our Greeting from the stamp set, the Metallic Enamel Shapes and a Rhinestone colored red for Rudolph’s nose.

Thanks for spending a part of your Saturday with me!

Enjoy the day ~

Star of Wonder … Star of Night

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Oh baby … It’s Cold Outside!

Today I’d like to share a card with you that we made in our December Technique Club.  December is usually when we hold our “Club Christmas Parties” so we pass on the technique and just stamp 2 cards.

Today I will share the first of two cards.  On this card we used the “Star of Light” bundle … one of my favorites from the Holiday Catalog. I must say that it is very hard this year to pick a favorite, there are so many awesome sets and bundles from this holiday catalog.

000_3892

This card was cased from a fellow demonstrator, it was too pretty not to share with everyone else!

I began with the new In Color “Dapper Denim” and the “Silver” Glimmer Paper with a touch of Whisper White. We stamped the spray of stars on the front with the Craft Whisper White, then the small stars in
Dapper Denim.

Our silver piece is 4 x 5-1/4 and you will cut your star from the center of this piece … this will also be the “mat” for the Dapper Denim piece you’ve just stamped on, which was cut to 5″ x 3-3/4″.  I used “glue dots” to hold the majority of the pieces together.

The Whisper White was cut into a banner and stamped with one of the beautiful greeting.

I will be back tomorrow with the second of my 2 cards.  This one I designer myself … and just remember that you can receive these cards along with a special little treat from me when your purchase an order of $50 or more before shipping and Handling ~

Thanks for spending a bit of your day with me!

Sorry for the delay … I don’t think I”m going to get the option of waiting until January to get my new computer!

But let’s get to the fun part!!  Yesterday you got a chance to see the new November 2016 Paper Pumpkin and as promised I am going to show you a little bit different version!

It’s always fun to open up the box each month and discover what resides inside!  I was happy to see the beautiful die cuts, but loved that we got 2 stampin’ spots and a really nice stamp set!

Not sure if you could tell by the video yesterday, but these are “Note Card”size cards, which are perfect for gift giving, but if you’d like to turn these into beautiful cards to send … I have a simple answer for you.

000_3836

I simply added a Island Indigo mat to the layered card (skipped the vellum) and embossed the 1/2 of what used to be the card!  I then mounted that onto a Pool Party card base. I chose the Island Indigo mat to coordinate with my greeting.

There’s nothing simpler than Paper Pumpkin, even it you are changing it up a bit!

Guest Stampers: Trio of Christmas Stockings

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I want to share with you some more of our Swap Cards from the Holiday Retreat. Our swaps are done by our guests, and when they swap they are entered into the card contest and a chance to win a Gift Certificate from me. It’s a lot of fun, and the best part about swapping … you get to go home with that many more cards!!

All three of the cards I’m sharing with you today were made with the “Hang Your Stockings” Stamp set and Christmas Stockings Thinlits Dies.  This is one you can bundle and Save 10% on.

Let’s begin with Linda S.  This was her first retreat but you would never have guessed it by her swap.

000_3833

She used the Christmas Stocking Thinlits die to create both the stocking and the greeting. These are highlighted by having the beautiful designer paper behind it. You’ll find several great patterns in the “Warmth & Cheer” Designer Series Paper Stack.

Our next guest stamper is Marge G.  Marge has attended all of our Holiday Retreats only missing the Spring because she was a little snowbird.

000_3830

Marge started her card with the “This Christmas” Designer paper that can be found in the Annual Catalog (our big one) not the Holiday catty.  Marge also used the thinlits to create her card, and then she added a little sponging to really make it pop!  Don’t you love how she used the snowflake cut out from the stocking on her card … no wasted space here.

The last of the stocking cards was created by Abby H.   This was Abby’s first retreat and she was also our youngest guest (her Mom & Sister have been here many times before).  We have several Mother / Daughter attendee’s … it is a great getaway to have fun together and bond.

000_3828

Abby not only used the thinlits, but she stamped her stockings! Now we get to see how cute the coordinating stamp set is, and what a nice job Abby did stamping and creating her card.  They are all lined up with the Brick background and ready for Santa!

For me … Everyone is a winner because they get to go home with extra cards and each card has a different style than your own.  Oh yes, and I get to keep a set … THANK YOU LADIES!!

000_3826

I hope you have enjoyed the trio of stocking cards today, and that it inspires you to grab that ink, pick up your stamps and begin having some “you” time and releasing your creativity!

Thanks for stopping by …

Have a great day!

HIGHLIGHTED HOLIDAY STAMPIN’ SUPPLIES ….

000_3826

Guest Stamper: Connie C.

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today’s guest stamper is “Connie Collins” … she is one of our Artisan Team members, and this card was featured on Stampin’ Up!s GET INSPIRED Blog. (Clear here to view full post)

My main reason for sharing Connie’s beautiful card is that she has featured the new Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies (item 145372)

125b01a583795661a8962ff0000f7f0e6

The sentiment on this card was stamped using the Tin of Tags Stamp Set (item 142180) and die cut using one of the circles in the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies. Then she placed it on a scalloped circle from the Layering Circles Framelits (item 141705) before attaching it to my card. Notice how the Layering Circles, Layering Squares (item 141708), and Layering Ovals (item 141706) Framelits Dies work perfectly with the Stitched Shapes Framelits.

The greeting comes from the  “Tin of Tags” stamp set, and is one of those that are currently 25% off!  I have the list here of all the stamp sets that are discounted… they coordinate with the new Stitched Shape Framelits.

Guest Stamper: Cindy C.

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

I have a treat for you today! As some of you know, I love to share my Swap Cards with you and today is no different. This swap card comes from our Annual Holiday Retreat “Attendee” swap!!

These ladies make the most awesome cards so they must be shared. Today our guest stamper is Cindy C.  Cindy is also in my Thursday Night Technique Club so I know her well.  Sorry that the original post said our stamper was Cheryl.

000_3821

Cindy is using the “Greetings from Santa” bundle which includes the stamp set and the “Detailed Santa Thinlits Dies”.  The die makes this card very easy to create.

I just love the Red Glimmer Paper used behind Santa and the pop of black which is signature to Santa’s belt and boots! You can’t not be “HAPPY” when you get a beautiful card like Cheryl’s!

Thank you for stopping by and checking out the card share today.

I hope you have a wonderful Monday!

Star of Light Trio of Cards …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

First let me say “Happy Veterans Day” … a big THANK YOU to all our current and past military men and women who put their lives on the line, and those who sacrificed their lives so that we can enjoy the freedoms here at home. I U.

Today I want to share 3 beautiful cards that we made at our Annual Holiday Stamping Retreat featuring one of my favorite stamp sets from the Holiday Catalog … the Star of Light stamp set and Thinlits.

At Retreat and all my stamping events …. it is my mission to show the versatility of the stamp sets or bundles. Here we went from a simple card to beautiful elegance …

star-of-light-trio

Let’s begin with the center card, created using Elegant Eggplant and Wisteria Wonder. Simple but pretty and it highlights the stamps, ink and greetings with just a touch of bling to draw your eye to the focal point of the card, the star.

The card on the left uses Pool Party and Island Indigo a fun color combination turned elegant when we sponged the background and used the Silver Foil paper for our star, topped with a beautiful die cut. (This card was cased from a fellow demonstrator) I wish the photo would have reflected the silver so you could see how stunning it really is. We also used the new Metallic Enamel Shapes on the card which works so well with the Silver Foil paper … this was one of our “All attendee Gifts”(also known as Pillow Gifts as they get a package of goodies on their beds as a Thank You for joining us)

Our last card on the right seems to be everybody’s favorite. It was really quite simple to make, but so elegant when done in Very Vanilla and Basic Black.  The Enamel Shapes were also used on this card – the package comes with both Silver and Gold.  The designer paper we used comes from the Annual Catalog called “This Christmas”. It’s a specialty designer paper because it is a little thinner than our normal designer paper… but you get more!!

star-of-light-trio

I hope you enjoyed today’s card share, I would love it if you would please “LIKE” this post at the bottom if you did, and then tell me which one is your favorite!! The key ingredients to make these cards are listed below.

Thank you for spending a part of your Friday with me …

I hope you have a marvelous day!

Star of Light … Retreat Style

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

A little more news from our Holiday Stampin’ Retreat. Hope you don’t mind if I share a bit of our adventures …. it’s only because we wish everyone could join us.

Here are a few more of our retreat guests …

img_1621-blog

We were set up a little different than in years past because of some renovations they are doing.

One of the stamp sets that we highlighted for our projects was the “Star of Light” stamp set and Thinlets. This was also the card that Kathie said was her husbands favorite, also the favorite of my daughters … and many at retreat.

000_3778

I saw many samples before I sat down to create my cards for retreat.  One thing I noticed was I didn’t see any samples with the inside die that I used for this card and I wanted my guests to see the full extent of what this bundle can do.

The greeting “Star of Wonder” immediately made me think of the musical notes designer paper from the “This Christmas” Specialty paper. I also maintained the basic colors for this card including the gold, however that gold star really creates the WOW factor on this card.

After our cardmaking session we broke away for lunch and were greeted by this beautiful sight …

img_1624-blog

Amazing … It looks like the heavens are reaching out to touch us. It was a wonderful day and I really do feel blessed to be able to host such fun events for my stampin’ friends.

Let me know if you have any questions about my retreats or the card I shared with you today.

Thank you for coming to my blog today.

Have a wonderful day ~

Simply Sunday: Most Wonderful Time of the Year

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I have a quick -n- easy Christmas card for you. I know many of you have very busy lives but still like the “hand made” touch at Christmas so here is one solution for your cards …

Let’s begin with our Designer Series paper: This Christmas Specialty Designer Series paper, you will find this paper in our annual catalog on pg.172.  Once we chose the design we want, the next step is our card base … today I chose Cherry Cobbler.

000_3767

While your picking out your paper products, grab your “Vellum Cardstock” because that is what we’ve stamped our greeting on. The greeting is from our “Wonderful Year” stamp set found on page 28 of the Holiday catalog. I used StazOn ink because it works best on this application.

I attached my vellum with the glue dots and then hide them by placing a rhinestone over the top. I colored my rhinestones with a Sharpie™ marker.

Yup … it’s that quick -n- easy. Let me know if  you have any questions about today’s card, or other cards you have viewed this week.

Thanks for stopping by today, and enjoy your Sunday.

Merry Christmas Wishes Card

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I have a quick post for you that showcases one of the cards that we did at my Holiday Catalog Launch party. Head over to page 24 of the catalog and hop in Santa’s Sleigh to follow along on the journey.

The card was cased from a fellow demonstrator … I fell in love with the simplicity yet beauty of the card.

We begin with the  Pretty Paisleys Textured Embossing Folder on page 47, and will emboss it on Very Vanilla cardstock. I love the way the embossed image frames our entire card.

000_3639

Our next step was to stamp the tree image inside the oval in Always Artichoke. I also used Always Artichoke to mat the embossed piece for a little extra pop of color.

You will need to stamp the deer in Soft Suede onto Soft Suede cardstock … Do same with the bow and gift package (Real Red ink onto Real Red cardstock) Then you will cut them out with the framelits included in your bundle.

000_3643

I used the new Burlap Ribbon from the annual catalog, and pulled a string out of it to use as my bow on the present. The gift was mounted with a Stampin’ Dimensional.

The greeting was stamped on a scrap piece of vanilla cardstock and I simply trimmed the edges by hand. You could also use the Triple Banner punch to make your banner.

We added a some holiday cheer to the inside of our card and a bit of our tree. The tree was also stamped on the envelopes so we had a nice coordinating card to mail.

000_3642

You could purchase the stamp set and framelits separately but it’s much better to save 10% by bundling! Besides, you are going to want the sleigh … I’ll be sure to share samples in the upcoming holiday season.

Hope you enjoyed our card as much as the group at the Holiday Catalog Launch party liked it.

I thank you for spending a bit of your Saturday with me.

Enjoy your weekend, and I’ll be back tomorrow with a little surprise for my Simply Sunday series.

It’s a Merry Medley …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Woooo … sorry about that! I had a sinus headache turn migraine yesterday and it won! I don’t normally get headaches, especially like that but I’m here today with the card that I promised.

We made 10 cards at the Holiday Reveal party that highlighted a number of the stamp sets. It was truly hard to choose which stamps to use, there are so many awesome sets and bundles this year!!

Today I’d like to share the card I created using the “Merry Medley” stamp. This is one background stamp … I choose to purchase the wood when it comes to background stamps because I like the weight of the wood.

000_3633

I flip my stamp “rubber up” then ink it … today we used the Whisper White Craft ink on Basic Black Cardstock. I find this to be the easiest way to use the background stamps … by placing the rubber up and placing the cardstock on top, you have more control over the position and coverage on your card.

After picking my cardstock off of the stamp, I dipped it into White Embossing Powder, tapped off the excess and heat embossed it. I love the “white on white” look because it is more bold than if you use a VersaMark or other emboss pad … even though they work well, this is just my preference.

I teamed up the “Merry Medley” stamp with the “Holly Berry” Bundle. I punched out the Holly leaves and then stamped on them (usually I do it the other way, stamp first then punch) but with the photopolymer stamps, it’s just as easy to punch these out first then stamp.

000_3633-detail

You’ll see a strip of Real Red cardstock wrapped with the Old Olive Bakers twine … I added that to draw your eye to the cluster of holly leaves and it coordinates nicely with the red berries. The berries were created using the Rhinestones and a red Sharpie™. The entire front was matted with Real Red cardstock and mounted onto the Black base of the card.

000_3637

The inside was stamped with Momento Ink and colored in with markers. Simple but colorful … if you don’t like to putz with coloring, just stamp your holly in green!

Hope you enjoyed today’s card … we sure had fun on Monday.  What a great group of stampers … Thanks.

Thank you for stopping by today, I hope your day is a great one.

Simply Sunday: Making Spirits Bright

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Before I share my card with you today, I want to take a moment to honor those we lost, those who helped, and those who lost their loved ones on this day 15 years ago.  It changed the face of America, but we became strong and rebuilt as we always do.

remembering911

Terrorism is evil and still rears its ugly head all over the world … let’s stand strong together. We are one people and are more a like than we are different (Our Olympians and stampers are a good example of that). Let’s remember how this tragedy brought us together, neighbor helping neighbor, rebuilding together.

We’ll never forget but we move forward, and we live to honor those we lost.

Today’s card is “Making Spirits Bright” …

Yesterday I shared a video of our new “Cable Knit” embossing folder and promised a cute card using this folder.  It is a lot thicker than the folders you are used to using, this is so we can get the detail …

000_3630

I used the cable knit as my background and with it’s deep emboss, it won’t get lost on the card, it stands up on it’s own. It’s done in Very Vanilla and mounted on Garden Green cardstock. The cute little stocking come from the “Hang Your Stocking” bundle.

Our “Making Spirits Bright” comes from the stamp set designed to coordinate with the “Tin of Tags” … however, get your moneys worth and use it on all it’s cards – it’s very versatile!

Let me know what you think … I’ve been missing my stocking die, but now we have the really cute bundle 🙂

Thank you for sharing a part of your day with me. Let me know what you think of the card / embossing folder. I’d also like to know what you want to see … I’d love to help 🙂

Simply Sunday: Christmas Stocking

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

It appears as if I have been distracted by this beautiful Wisconsin weather today! A perfect day with all the windows in the house open, plus a planning session for my upcoming Holiday Catalog Launch Party and Holiday Retreat! But I’m here now and sharing a simply cute card using one of the bundles that will be featured at these upcoming events!

Our color pallet was based off the “Presents & Pinecones” Designer Series Paper which mats the “focal point” … the stocking and our greeting: Cherry Cobbler, Mint Macaron and Whisper White.
