Daisy Garden: Spotlighting Technique

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Tired of the cold? I’ve got the perfect card to warm you up … bright and colorful highlighting the Daisy Garden Stamp set and the Spotlight Technique! This little cutie will make you yearn for Spring!

*** I love this technique – It’s a great way to add a pop of color to images that one would think needs the entire image to be colored, so it’s quick and easy and still beautiful.

Measurements

  • Parakeet Party:  5 ½” x 8 ½”, scored at 4 ¼”
  • Polished Pink: 4” x 5 ¼”
  • 2 pieces of Shimmery White: 3 ¾” x 5”

Instructions:

  • Stamp the Daisy Garden Stamp on 2 separate pieces of Shimmery White cardstock. (Use the Stamparatus to ensure that you have a nicely stamped dark image. If a part of the image is not stamped nicely on the cardstock, you can re-ink and stamp it again.)
  • Use the 3 smallest sizes of the circle dies from the Stylish Shapes Dies cut out pieces from the 2nd stamped Shimmery White cardstock.
  • Colour the flowers and leaves that are in the cut-out circles using Stampin’ Blends. (Tip: I used the Light Pool Party Stampin’ Blend to fill all the “white space” on the circles.)
  • Use the Wink of Stella Glitter Brush to add shimmer to the flower petals.
  • Add a piece of ribbon to the fully stamped Shimmery White cardstock. Take a smaller piece of ribbon and tie a knot on the right hand side of the card.
  • Add the Stitched Circles on top of the cardstock using Dimensionals.
  • Adhere the Shimmery White cardstock to the Parakeet Party cardstock.
  • Add the layers to the card using Stampin’ Seal Adhesive.
  • Stamp the greeting from Sweet Songbirds stamp set on a small piece of Shimmery White cardstock using the Polished Pink ink. (I cut the cardstock to the correct size after stamping it)

I hope this card inspires you to try out this technique … it really is quite simple, and can really add a pop of color! What a great way to warm someones day when it’s so cold outside (at least it is where I am) lol

Thanks for joining me today, hope your day is a good one.

Here is a list of supplies used to create this card ….

Throwback Thursday: Daisy Garden in Gold

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I have a card from the Daisy Garden stamp set, and it’s stunning in gold! I embossed the Daisy Garden in Gold on Very Vanilla cardstock. Let me just say, sometimes simplicity can be stunning …

I matted the embossed image with the Gold Foil paper (4″ x 5-1/5″) which really highlights the gold daisies. This front is attached to the Very Vanilla Base (8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ and scored at 4-1/4″). Heat embossing is the technique that attracted me into stamping!

The greeting comes from the upcoming “Celebrating You” stamp set … it will be available January 4th in the Mini Catalog, as will the beautiful Brushed Brass Butterflies! I die cut the greeting with the Tasteful Labels dies …

I added a strip of the beautiful Gold Shimmer Ribbon that can be found in the current Mini that expires on January 3rd. So today … you got to see something new, with something in our annual catalog. I like utilizing my stamps and accessories from both catalogs.

Thank you for joining me today. Enjoy your day ~

Daisy Garden Meets Split Circle Technique

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I’ll be sharing the card from my Facebook LIVE last night … I really love the way this card turned out. Last week I shared the simplest way to use the Split Circle Technique using just 3 different size die cut circles, today I will show you the “trick” to get your colors to “flow” …

It’s really quite simple, you will just need to cut “more” circles. I’ll explain in colors because I’m not sure my video explained it well enough. You will need 1 large and 1 small white polka dot, 1 medium green, and then 1 large and 1 small black polka dot… all to be cut in half.

The flower added comes from the Daisy Garden stamp set I’ve shared the past couple days … I thought it would add a sweet touch to our card. Don’t you love how the Freesia and the Blue hues come out of the gems and match our daisy so perfectly? WOW!

Let’s take a look at that video …

Thank you for hanging out with me and checking out my card and video. I’ve been challenged to do this technique in my class, so time to get more creative … and I promise to share with you. It will be sometime in January after my club meets.

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Day 2: Daisy Garden

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~ Today I have another card to share from the beautiful Daisy Garden and Through It Together stamp sets… Did you see how many “greetings” are in that set! It’s so very versatile (take a look below, I have included the image at the bottom of the post).

I really like this layout today, simple yet a little different so it really adds some interest to the card …

The daisy image was stamped onto Basic White with the Tuxedo Black Moment Ink pad, then I used a Sponge Dauber to apply the ink to the flower. The center of the flower and the leaves were all colored with our Stampin’ Blends Alcohol Markers; Daffodil Delight, Old Olive and Granny Apple Green. A touch of Blackberry Bliss was added to the flower around the center.

The card base is our yummy Blackberry Bliss. It is also used as a mat behind my flower panels. Each panel was cut 1″ x 4-1/2″ after the image was stamped and colored. I can’t believe this but none of the images were “popped” up but you could do that to add more depth to your card.

I mounted the panels onto a Basic White card front that was embossed with the Tasteful Textile folder. I stamped my greeting and die cut it from the Tasteful Labels die set. I trimmed off the bottom of the circle and tucked it behind the bow made from the White Glitter Organdy Ribbon.

I finished off the card with some of my favorite embellishments; the Elegant Faceted Gems. Oh yes … and you will notice a touch of Wink of Stella in the flowers centers.

Thank you for joining me today. I hope this card inspires you to try a new layout or better yet, this stamp set! I’ve got more to share with you in the coming days.

Let me invite you to join me tonight LIVE on my Facebook page at 6:30 pm Central Time. Have yourself a great day!

Simply Sunday: Daisy Garden

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I’d like to share a cute stamp that I’ve wanted since the new Annual Catalog came out … and I got it for Christmas!! So the next few days, I will be sharing this with you and introducing you to a few more goodies from the Annual Catalog. Let me introduce you to Daisy Garden …

For the next few days I will be sharing cards from the Daisy Lane and the Through it Together stamp sets. You’ll see some easy layouts that will make this simple stamp set lots of fun and very versatile.

Today’s card is simply stamped in Black and highlighted with yellow centers in the daisies. I used the Tuxedo Black Momento Ink and the Stamparatus so I could get the perfect stamped image …

The minimal coloring actually makes the daisies pop and is great if you need a card in a hurry. I added the greeting at an angle to catch your attention and layered it to add more dimension to the card.

This fun layout can be done in any color but I picked daffodil delight to really attract attention to the card! You can replace it with a soft subtle color such as Fresh Freesia or how about Misty Moonlight… anything would work and look beautiful.

Thank you for joining me today. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas with friends and/or family.

Enjoy this beautiful day ~
