Fun Background with Gone Fishing Bundle

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I have and cards for you showcasing a FUN Background using the Gone Fishing Bundle and the Lets Go Fishing Designer Series paper. You’ll see though watching the video how easy it is to create this fun background, along with some tips and I share my “discovery” of what other bundle works GREAT with the NEW Gone Fishing Bundle.

Let’s watch, then I’ll share the cards again with you …

So easy to make this fun background with scrap paper … and just think of all the different occasions you can create for!! The dimensions are in the video and I leave them up for a while so you can easily write them down as well.

This is the one that I create during the video … don’t forget, there is a coordinating die for that fish!! lol I have just fallen in love with this suite. Watch for more!!

Background is the same on this next card … a little different as far as paper strips but I used the dies from the “All That” dies to create an award ribbon to show Dad that he’s the best.

So … who is going to try this out? Or have you already. I do have another card with this pattern but with different designer paper .. WOW! It’s a whole different look. I will share that with you tomorrow.

Thank you for stopping in and sittin’ a spell. Enjoy your Wednesday!!

Masculine Cards: Fathers Day & Birthday

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

With Father’s Day creeping up on us quickly, I though it would me nice to share some cards created from the Well Suited Suite which can be found on page 66 and 67 of the Mini Catalog.

The suite includes the Handsomely Suited Stamp set, Suite & Ties Dies … both carried over to the Annual Catalog, and the Well Suited Designer Paper and the Well Suited Twine … both retiring!

Today we are going to begin just using simply; stamps * ink * paper! Isn’t this how the whole “stamping” thing got started? My color pallet will be Night of Navy, Merry Merlot and Basic White … masculine. I started with my base in Night of Navy and my mat in Merry Merlot and my Basic White to stamp on, and I choose the ties!

The greeting was stamped on a piece of scrap that I had lying around and fit it well, and then I added some Night of Navy to mat the greeting.

Next up, I thought I would use the ties again, however I’m introducing the Well Suited Designer Paper and the Suite & Ties Dies …

First, I used a simple yet masculine design from the Well Suited Designer Series paper as my background, and then using 3 other patterns of designer paper … I cut out my ties with the coordinating tie dies! It’s so much fun pick patterns and make your own ties! I felt like I could sew again … LOL!!!

Next up … I’m going all out, it’s time to introduce “A Sharp Dressed Man”!! I picked out two patterns from the Well Suited Designer Series Paper; one that reminded me of tweed and the other is paisley! That is how I started …

Your card base begins as any other; 8-1/2″ x 11″ and scored at 5-1/2″ … fold in half and your ready to dress your card. I took the “tweed” pattern paper and with the coordinating dies, cut out the suit. You get the suit and lapels.

The shirt consists of the White card base and the die cut collar … it is so easy to create. HOWEVER, before you adhere down the suit, you need tuck the tie under the collar and and suit. I just love that paisley tie!! You could add a pocket, buttons and more to dress up your card, the dies have them all.

This will be your last chance to purchase the suite as it retires at the end of the month, so the “bundle” with 10% saving … the Designer paper … and Bakers Twine will be gone. Let me know if you have any questions, and thank you for hanging out with me today.

Simply Sunday: Stamps * Ink * Paper

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Happy Sunday to you! I hope you got the chance to see all my cards created from the Ice Cream Corner suite. Today I’m going from yummy to masculine as I kick off a series of cards created from the Well Suited Suite which can be found on page 66 and 67 of the Mini Catalog.

The suite includes the Handsomely Suited Stamp set, Suite & Ties Dies, Well Suited Designer Paper and the Well Suited Twine ….

Today we are just using simply; stamps * ink * paper! Isn’t this how the whole “stamping” thing got started? My color pallet will be Night of Navy, Merry Merlot and Basic White … masculine. I started with my base in Night of Navy and my mat in Merry Merlot and my Basic White to stamp on, and I choose the ties!

The ties with the diamond shapes are stamped in Night of Navy and the one with the stripes was stamped in Merry Merlot … they are pretty easy to line up but you can always use your Stamparatus if you want it perfect. I started with the Merry Merlot tie in the center and then stamped the two in Night of Navy.

The greeting was stamped on a piece of scrap that I had lying around and fit it well, and then I added some Night of Navy to mat the greeting.

Such a nice masculine card that is easy to make! There is also a birthday greeting in the stamp set and a few others so you can send many masculine cards throughout the year.

Thank you for stopping by this Sunday, and I hope you have a wonderful day. Be sure to stop back tomorrow to see how I step up this card!

Fathers Day Card: A Good Man’s Well Dressed

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

I am happy to be back with you today because I have an awesome card to share with you, and the stamp set is available today!  It is the “Well Dressed” stamp set and I’ve paired it with the “A Good Man” stamp set from our annual catalog … perfect for Fathers Day or a birthday for Dad.

I have heard from so many of you that we need more Masculine stamp sets … well Stampin’ Up! not only listened but totally delivered on this one! I’m so excited to share my card with you today. Like you, I’m always on the lookout for a great masculine stamp set and this one caught my eye right away.  My brother was the inspiration for my card / design … his birthday is either a few days before or on Fathers Day!  I picked Night of Navy and Sahara Sand because I felt they were a timeless and masculine color pallet.

I knew in my head how I wanted to make the card, so I made a layout … trimming pieces until I liked the look. Here is what I came up with, and it includes the dimensions…

After designing the layout, the card was easy to put together, however I wanted to add “something” to it, so I stamped the entire background to create a look a dimension! I found that starting on the top left and stamping across the paper worked better than stamping “down” the paper … Who knew!  Then all my images were stamped in Night of Navy onto the Sahara Sand cardstock.

If you look closely you’ll see the stamping on the background ant that I added a mat on each of the Sahara Sand pieces with Night of Navy, it just seemed to complete the piece.  I also used Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop up the hat and the shoe images.  This created extra dimension and depth to the card, and it helps to protect my little key that I added to my greeting.

The key comes from the “Classic Garage Metal Elements” found in the annual catalog.  The greetings on the front and in the inside of the card come from the “A Good Man” stamp set …

The little heart stamped in Merry Merlot also comes from the “A Good Man” stamp set.  This could easily be a Birthday or Fathers Day card.  I love combining stamp sets and Stampin’ Up! makes it easy with their design coordination.

Here is a list of ingredients that I used today to make this card. If you click on any of the items, it will take you to my website and give you details about the product. You may order at this time (If you don’t have a demonstrator) or you may contact me and I can help you.

Thank you for joining me today …  Have you caught my “pun” on this card?  The “key” to being a good Dad starts with being a good Man!!  I love the way this card turned out and really like my combination of Well Dressed and A Good Man stamp sets.  How about you?

Have a good day.  Linda
