I’m Back! 2019 Spring Stamping Retreat

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend, because my was fantastic!  So, today I want to bring you into my Stamping Retreat experience, and share some cute samples / gifts. Our theme for this year was suggested by Kathie, one of our attendees; Butterflies and Blooms… to honor my Mom and my sister Eileen, and all the women in our lives who are strong and courageous.

My apologies for the lack of posts this weekend but I was prepping, cooking and packing for my annual Spring Stamping Retreat this past weekend.  It is always my mission that my guests have a stress free, relaxing yet fun weekend.  Mission accomplished!  I have truly been blessed by the lovely ladies who attend my retreats, and this year was no different.  I love when perfect strangers meet … and by then end of the weekend, they are swapping phone numbers and email addresses.

My guests are greeted at the door by either myself or my helper Cindy.  As they enter the dining room with a wonderful huge table which we all fit around (yes, my retreats are smaller for cozy, personal touch) they find the fireplace adorned with my “Mantle Gifts” … they decorate the room all weekend, but each guest gets to take one home before the leave…

OK … let’s get a little bit closer look at these cute little gift boxes.  I used the Floral Romance Specialty Designer Paper (which I noticed this morning in no longer available) and wrapped it around the Lustrous White Mini Gable Boxes, oh my are they pretty! The leaves and butterfly came from the Beauty Abounds bundle from the Occasions Catalog … and the little flower – not sure which set that came out of!! Here is a closer look …

Each butterfly and flower on these boxes were given a touch of the Wink of Stella, and really brought the twinkle of the boxes out.

Next we take our guests to there room … each room has door tags with our guests name on them …

The tags were stamped with the “His Grace” stamp set and the butterflies are from the “Beauty Abounds” set … again, the flowers and the butterfly were touched up with the Wink of Stella.

They have a welcome gift on their bed. This retreats gift was a notepad decorated with the Petal Promenade Designer Series paper and a mechanical pencil to match! And our tag was hand stamped “So Happy You’re Here” …

Once our guests are all settled in, they can relax by the fireplace or enjoy the beautiful lake view.  We all seemed to gather around the dining room table and got to know each other before we sat down to eat a home cooked meal … Friday nights are usually two homemade soups, french bread and salad with all the fixin’s!

Our next adventure for the weekend is to head off into our stamping room, I’m all set up and ready for my guests …

Their stamping spots are all ready for them, and all their projects are pre-cut, bagged and labeled “per stamp session” and ready for them to use! Is it extra work for me? … Maybe, but I do it while I’m watching tv or enjoying a quiet night … Remember, my retreats are designed for an “escape” from the stress … just relax and have fun stamping!!  There bags also included Stampin’ Dimensionals and all the embellishments (and then some) needed for thier projects.

Even though our theme for the weekend was “Butterflies and Blooms” … I wanted to kick off our Friday with a little extra FUN, thus the polka dot bags. It goes with my Friday night theme “Sweetest Thing” bundle from the Occasions catalog…

I couldn’t resist, and the jar behind the greeting sign, matches the one in the bundle perfectly!! Oh, and I knew not to put too much candy out there because my attendee’s like to bring treats for their fellow stampers, and here is just the beginning of what we had!!

There was even more added to our table … lol.  This picture was shared by one of our new attendee’s; Sarah W. Her and her mother-in-law Jane were a pleasure to stamp with. I have been blessed by meeting so many wonderful ladies through my retreats … I love my job!! Here is Sarah and Jane …

Well … I can’t stop here, I have to show you the projects that we did on Friday night with the Sweetest Thing bundle.  Just like you, I head over to Pinterest for a little inspiration, so the card on the right was cased from fellow demonstrator; Leena Girsh… it’s so cute, a few minor additions; the Glitter Enamel Dots from the Annual Catalog.

Our second card was a “Shaker Card” I created using the Stitched Shapes Framelits dies … we used them a lot over the weekend. And our last project for the night was this cute little treat cup using all of the cute accessories in the “How Sweet It Is” product suite, including the designer paper, reversable ribbon and the cute tags! I have the products listed below.

Sorry for the long post but there is so much to share, and this is only our first evening together! I will be sharing more of my stamping retreat with you all week, including the amazing swap card that our attendee’s created.

Thank you so much for hanging around and waiting for this post, I appreciate your loyalty and love having you as part of my stampin’ tribe! aka “family”.

Have a wonderful week ~

Guest Stamper: Golden Afternoon Stamp Set

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I have another swap card from our Onstage event.  The card features the Golden Afternoon stamp set that you can find in the Occasions catalog.  I would love to give credit to the demonstrator who made this card, however, there was no name on it … just the comment “Cased by Francie”.

This card is so pretty and she did her watercoloring using the Water Color Pencils and the Watercolor paper.  This is another set that I had to have but did not find time to use it until … retreat!!  Our ladies will be using the sentiments from this stamp set on a couple of the cards that we are making.  I share some of them with you soon.

Tomorrow I will be sharing the new In-Colors with you! Can’t wait for you to see them showcased this way.

Thank you for coming over to my blog today. Have a yourself a great day ~

TODAY’S FEATURED STAMPIN’ SUPPLIES …

Simply Sunday ~ A Little Hello

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I have a cute card that may bring the feel of a warm sunny day … what the heck, they were threatening snow yesterday!!  Ha, Ha … left my shovels out, just in case!  My card share today features the beautiful Lillypad Lake bundle, and I wanted to create that “lake” feel … I hope it takes you to the warmth and wonder of the lake.

I started with the worn wood look with one of the designer papers from the Wood Textures DSP.  I cut out my background in Whisper White with the new Rectangle Stitched Framelits Dies … it will create the focal point, and was sponged with Balmy Blue.  The sun was cut from the dies included in the bundle.

Our bird was stamped and then cut again with the coordinating dies.  the water is also a die that we cut in Balmy Blue … before we attached it we covered that entire area on the sponged white with our Snail adhesive.  The bottom 1/3 of the piece was coated with the Snail, then we laid the die cut (which I’m using as waves/water) onto the piece … then we dipped it into the Dazzling Diamonds Glitter and WOW!!  We just pushed the glitter down onto the Snail to hold it better … It looks so cool.

I finished off my card with “a little hello” and some pearls which I colored with the Soft Suede stamping blends … it really looked nautical!  Most of the time when I make “glitter designer paper” … I use the Adhesive sheets, but this was such a small area and the Snail worked perfectly for this quick technique!!  Easy and looks great, you can’t get simpler than that.

Thank you for joining me at the lake today, I hope you enjoyed our little journey into nature.

Have a wonderful day ~

On the Road Again … Lillypad Lake

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I’m hitting the road and heading to OnStage – April 2019!! I’m so excited, especially after that nasty attack of snow we just had!! YIKES.  It’s pretty much gone around my area and my thoughts are for warmer days and sunny skies.  Today’s card will take you there … Lillypad Lake.  To me, there is nothing like sitting by the water at watching the sparkles as the sun dances across the water. On a boat wouldn’t be bad either!!

I began by sponging a little Balmy Blue onto the front of the card. We then stamped the water with Bermuda Bay … adding a little of the Balmy Blue into the water!  Using a clean sponge … dab a little Crumb Cake near the bottom to create your sand.  Now you have your sky, sand and water. Nice.

Next we stamped the sail boats, colored with the Night of Navy and Real Red Markers, and then they were die cut with the coordinating Lakeside Framelits Dies.  You can bundle these to save 10% on your purchase.  We finished off our day at the beach with the adirondack chair from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits and my friend … Wink of Stella.  Stella gives us that sparkle that dances across the water … oh, I can’t wait for summer!! lol

Thank you for joining me today on my road trip to warmer days.

Come back and visit tomorrow, till then, enjoy your day.

Floral Statements … Thanks

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Well, well, well … how did you like to two “Hello” cards? Two different styles but pretty easy to recreate.  Today I have another card from the Floral Statements for you featuring the “Thanks” greeting.

Yesterday cards were done with the Aqua Painter and a watercoloring technique.  On my card today I used the Stampin’ Blends to color my floral piece ….

Wow … right!  I stamped my image with the Momento Ink pad because I knew I wanted to use the Stampin’ Blends today.  I choose the Daffodil Delight and Old Olive Combo’s for my coloring fun.  I love the way they make me look like an artist! lol

Once I was done with my coloring I matted my work with Daffodil Delight Cardstock … and wrapped it all up with a bow.  The ribbon is actually wrapped around the entire card front.  Then I added a touch of the Daffodil Delight Gingham designer paper behind it.

My next step was to emboss the Whisper White with the Subtle Dynamic Embossing Folder .. Oh my gosh, I love how “subtle” the texture is on this folder. Love it!  And now to complete my card, a little sparkle from my “Wink of Stella” and then I mounted everything onto my Daffodil Delight card base.

Tomorrow I have a card for you that will make you yearn for warm summer days!  Meet you back here then!

Thanks for sharing a part of your day with me today.

If you liked what you saw today, you can purchase any of the items I used to create these cards from my on-line store… just click any of the items and It will take you there. Thanks!

Two for Tuesday: Floral Statements

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Happy Tuesday … and I have a two for Tuesday for you today!  I chose the Floral Statements stamp sets … one of those that I just had to have but have not sat down to play with it until now.  What was I waiting for … wooo!  I have two different looks for you and I’m using the “Hello” stamp from the set.

My first card is going to be pretty easy and monochromatic; Old Olive and Whisper White …

Once I inked the stamp in Old Olive and stamped it onto the Whisper White cardstock, I grabbed my Aqua Painter and added a touch of Old Olive Watercoloring onto the leaves.  Then I just colored my flowers in with my buddy “Wink of Stella”.  Love the sparkle on the card and it really creates a stunning effect!  I matted my greeting with Old Olive then popped it up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Now let’s see what it looks like with a punch of color.  The color pallet for the second card is …

I have a passion for pink and grey so I decided that would be next on my agenda!  I stamped my flowers in Basic Grey and that will also be the base of the card.  I knew I wanted to add a pop of color so I went to the fun “Tropical Escape” Designer paper.  It is the mat for my greeting and the pink pop of color.

Since my Aqua Painter was handy, I again gently colored in the leaves with the Shaded Spruce and then did the flowers in Blushing Bride.  Any you know what came next … that’s right, Wink of Stella. I just love that sparkle, can’t help it.

Soooo… what do you think? Fun right! Well stop by tomorrow because I have the second stamp from this set for you to see.

Till then, have a great day, and thanks for stopping by.

If you liked what you saw today, you can purchase any of the items I used to create these cards from my on-line store… just click any of the items and It will take you there.  Thanks!

Simply Sunday: Petal Palette Card

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

I hope you are enjoying your weekend and I thank you for taking time out of your day to stop and visit my blog.  Today I have a sweet -n- simple card for you, that I created using the Petal Palette stamp set (Annual Catalog – page 119) and the coordinating Petals & More Thinlits Dies.

I used the monochromatic style when creating this card which is done in the Balmy Blue …

My base is Whisper White as was the oval for my greeting and the flowers that were die cut with the Petals & More Thinlits Dies.  I don’t know about you but I feel in love with the Gingham Gala 6″ X 6″ Designer Series Paper … it’s just so “springy”! Reminds me of a warm sunny day. I chose the smaller gingham side (other is wider) and then backed it with Balmy Blue.

The oval was cut from the Stitched Shapes Framelits Die and stamped in Balmy Blue.  As I stated earlier … I die cut the flowers with the Petals & More Thinlits Dies and colored them with the Balmy Blue and Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Blends Combo packs.  They were then popped up using mini dimensionals and embellished with the clear faceted gems (so pretty).

I think the stitching adds the perfect touch to the gingham and those clear faceted gems really make the little flowers pop! Cute yet quick … that’s just how we have to have it sometimes!!

Again, thanks for stopping in today!

I wish you a beautiful Sunday ~

Hold Onto Hope Stamp Set … Guest Stamper: Peggy

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

With just around the corner I thought I would share a beautiful card that was created by my friend and fellow demonstrator, Peggy.  This was a swap card from our last Spring Stamping Retreats and I do believe it was the winner! Our guests swap and then vote on which of the cards they like best … we have lots of fun and so many different people have had the honor of being chosen “Best Card”… it’s hard to choose!!

The color pallet for this card is the lovely Pool Party and Bermuda Bay with a touch of white to pull your eye to the focal point … the cross. Peggy layered the cross which creates it beauty and texture.

She created her card using the “Z Fold” technique … so fun and not to hard to do.  I will share one of mine in the next couple of days along with step by step instructions so you can recreate these cool cards.

There are several different ways to do the Z-Fold and it’s all based on the dimensions of the “Z” that you are using. We are actually making 2 different styles of Z-Fold cards at my Spring Stamping Retreat (but I can’t show you those till we get back).

I hope you enjoyed Peggy’s card, it is so pretty and so fitting for this time of year. The Hold onto Hope stamp set and coordinating Cross of Hope Framelits dies are a nice addition to your stamp collection. I purchased mine to go with the Ribbon of Courage stamp set.  FYI … I have the name wrong on my picture!! That’s for the framelits … Hold Onto Hope Stamp Set is correct.

Thank you so much for joining me today.

Enjoy your day, and I’ll see you tomorrow!

Petal Promenade in Gold

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I would like to share with you a card that I created using the Petal Promenade bundle.  I was inspired by so many cards on Pinterest that I just had to pull out this bundle and discover for myself how easy it was to create with it.

Today’s card was done in Very Vanilla and Gold Foil Cardstock with Gold Embossing …

The base is Very Vanilla which I’ve adhered a 4″ x 5-1/4″ Gold Foil sheet that was embossed with the Layered Leaves embossing folder.  The vanilla that is layered on top of our embossed gold, was heat embossed with gold embossing powder using VersaMark and the pretty diamond pattern in the stamp set.

Next comes the focal point … the heart of the card, where I heat embossed both the floral piece in the corner and the greeting.  The flower in the upper right-hand corner of the card was also heat embossed and die cut with the coordinating dies in the bundle.

Both the Very Vanilla pieces that were heat embossed were also cut out using the Rectangle Stitched Framelits Dies. I love the delicate edge this creates and it actually coordinates with the stitched areas on the diamond pattern.

Take a moment to check out this beautiful stamp set and the coordinating die and the entire product suite on pages 206 and 207 of the 2018-19 Annual Catalog.

Thank you for joining me today … hope you have a beautiful day.

SALE-A-BRATION ITEMS …

My Favorite Sale-a-bration item … By the Bay

Hello Stampin’ Friend ~

There are only a couple of days left to our Sale-a-bration event (ends March 31st). So I wanted to share all the goodies that are still available along with my favorite and some samples that I created using this … yes, it’s a stamp set.  By the Bay to be exact…

This card has been on fire on Pinterest (Thank You) and it is so simple to make.  All done in Night of Navy it makes a nice masculine card that would be great for Birthdays, Fathers Day or … Thinking of you.

My second of the three cards was the reason I picked this stamp set from the beginning, I thought it would go perfectly with my HIgh Tide stamp set.  I love lighthouses and this house looks like a beautiful lighthouse “house” to me …

On this card I used both the Aqua Painters and my Stampin’ Blends to color, and the lighthouse was stamped in front of the house.  However, that was not the picture in my head, so I came up with my third design …

There we go … This is what I had pictured in my head!! I wanted the lighthouse behind my cottage by the bay, so I used the masking technique.  You can find the entire blog post for this card HERE. It will take you step by step how I made this card.

There is something about lighthouses that warm my heart … maybe it’s the light that shines bright to bring the sailors into the shores safely… and there was something about this stamp set that spoke to me and said these two stamp sets needed to be together.

Thanks for hanging out with me for a while today, enjoy your day!

Our flowers are stamped in Fresh Fig onto Petal Pink and then cut out with the coordinating dies.  The leaves were stamped and cut with the dies in Mossy Meadow. The focal point of flowers where then layered with the Designer Paper and embellished with the Petal Pink Rhinestone Gems.

A combination of these products will qualify you for a FREE Sale-a-bration item!  Here are a few more ideas for you showcasing the Petal Promenade product suite …
