Simply Sunday: Simply Beautiful Traditions of Christmas

There’s something magical about crafting on a Sunday morning—especially when we blend the classic beauty of Christmas with a fresh, modern twist. Today’s project is all about celebrating the Simply Beautiful Traditions of Christmas using the gorgeous Traditions of Christmas Suite, but with a little unexpected flair… PINK! Yes, pink is everywhere this year—Halloween, fall décor, and now Christmas cards. And honestly? I’m here for it!

I began with a soft Bubble Bath card base measuring 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″, scored at 4-1/4″. Clean, simple, perfect. For the card front, I trimmed a piece to 4″ x 5-1/4″ and ran it through the Peaceful Greenery Embossing Folder. This embossed frame is everything—delicate leaves, soft texture, and a beautiful focal point that sets the stage for the entire card.

Inside that embossed frame, I heat embossed the sentiment in gold embossing powder, using the “Just for You” from the Traditional Labels Stamp Set. Even though this suite leans into Christmas, this sentiment gives the card wonderful versatility. With just one phrase, this becomes an all-occasion card wrapped in festive elegance. Perfect for my daughters December 23rd birthday!

For the finishing touch, I die cut one of the stunning floral sprays from the Traditions of Christmas Specialty Designer Paper. The gold foiling on this collection is absolutely breathtaking, and layering that spray along the embossed frame instantly elevated the card—no stamping required!

As I look at the finished card, I’m thinking it could use just a sprinkle more sparkle… maybe a few of the Traditional Sparkling Sequins to catch the light and add that extra holiday charm.

Today we’re sharing the 3rd runner-up from our Fall Stamping Retreat Attendee Swap, and let me tell you — this one is just stunning! 🌟

This beautiful card was created by Karie Kahrs using the Traditions of Christmas Suite. At first glance, you might think, “Christmas card,” but Karie took her creativity to the next level… she turned it into a Birthday Card! How clever is that? So many of us have loved ones with birthdays close to the holidays who prefer a “real” birthday card — this is pure inspiration! 🎂✨

The base of the card is Old Olive, with coordinating mats and a banner to frame the design perfectly. Karie die-cut the floral piece from the suite and popped it up on her focal point, creating dimension and a gorgeous layered look.

Here’s where her creativity really shone: the birthday greeting was heat embossed in gold, giving it that elegant, celebratory feel. She then added a swatch of gold foil paper behind the flowers and sentiment to make everything pop. And to top it off, she added the Traditional Sparkling Sequins in Gold from the suite — just the perfect finishing touch! ✨💛

This card is a fantastic example of taking a Christmas-themed suite and using it beyond the holidays. Karie’s design proves that a little imagination and clever use of products can create something totally unique — and that’s exactly why she earned 3rd place in our Attendee Swap Contest! 🏆

Our first card showcases the stunning tree stamps from the “In the Grove” set. We start by stamping the tree image onto cardstock. Then, without reinking the stamp, we stamp again, creating a layered effect. This technique, known as second-generation stamping, adds dimension and depth to your cards, allowing you to achieve two different colors from a single ink application. The result is a rich, textured look that brings the trees to life.

Next, we shine the spotlight on the Thoughtful Journey patterned paper. This card features a unique stippling technique that adds a snowy touch to your scenes. By using white craft ink and an old Blender pen, we highlight snowy areas, creating a beautiful wintery effect. We then use a simple marker to darken certain areas, adding contrast and making the image pop. This technique is perfect for creating bright, bold designs that capture the grandeur of the mountains.

For today’s project, I paired the Thoughtful Journey paper with a die-cut birthday greeting from the Garden Meadow stamp set. The intricate details of the die-cut adds some texture, as does the Peach Pie Ribbon I tucked underneath the greeting. Our ribbon pulls out the orange tones from our designer paper. Coordinating our ribbon is the In-Color Shimmer Gems in Peach Pie!

Cardmaking doesn’t have to be hard to produce something beautiful. With the right materials, you can create stunning cards with minimal effort. Today I’m sharing 6 cards using the Winter Meadows Designer Series Paper from Stampin’ Up! This collection isn’t just a celebration of the season; it’s a canvas of versatility waiting to unfold and brings the beauty of nature right to your fingertips. Each design of this exquisite paper was hand-painted making it perfect for your creative projects.

One standout feature is the deer page, meticulously crafted to perfectly fit onto a card front. The repeating pattern allows you to effortlessly cut each sheet into six pieces, providing a seamless background for your cards. Making this paper perfect for Fathers Day or a Birthday!

Let’s delve into the magic of quick and effortless card-making! Here are six simple yet stunning card ideas utilizing the Winter Meadows Designer Series Paper, promising to spark creativity …

  1. Classic Christmas Charm: Layer the grey tone pretty paper with a Pretty Peacock, add a simple ‘Let it Snow’ sentiment for a simple and pretty holiday card. I know many of you create your holiday cards “way” before the snow flies!

2. Winter Wonderland: And a sentiment of ‘Make the Season Sparkle’, pair it with Lost Lagoon cardstock, add a touch of Wink of Stella and adorn with Iridescent Rhinestone embellishments for a serene winter scene.

3. Father’s Day Sophistication: I cut the designer paper to 3 3/4″ x 5″, this card I used the Misty Moonlight to mat it, it’s earthy tone and wrap one corner with Bakers Twine for some texture. You’ll stamp with a ‘Happy Father’s Day’ sentiment to create a refined touch.

4. Birthday Bliss: Next I used the Blueberry Bliss as a backdrop for a colorful birthday card, surrounded by coordinating bakers twine and embellishments. The greeting was created from the Curved Occasions Bundle

5. Holiday Elegance: Trim the designer paper as the others, layer it on the soft Moody Mauve cardstock, add some Wink of Stella and stamp a ‘Happy Holidays’ sentiment. Time to embellish it with Festive Pearls.

6. Sending Warmth: Create a layered look with your designer paper with the Snowflake Magic on the Smoky Slate card base, adding a versatile sentiment that suits any occasion. Plus we’re adding a few Festive Pearls to complete our look.

The Winter Meadows Designer Series Paper isn’t just a seasonal delight; it’s a crafting essential that transcends boundaries. Circle Sayings … Celebrating Birthdays

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

I’m tickled pink to share today’s card with you. I’m using the Circle Sayings Bundle and a “fun” die I just got called “Dot’s & Spots”. If you like polka dots, I think you’ll like this die! Now if this combination doesn’t spark your curiosity, let me add my color combination of our newest pink, Bubble Bath and Early Espresso. The recipe for this card will result in a cuteness overload!

Just take a peek …

We’ll begin with out cardbase which is the Early Espresso… chosen because of our “chocolate” cupcake. The Bubble Bath is cut to a standard 4″ x 5-1/4″ and then die cut with the Dot’s & Spots. Now don’t throw those die cut dots away because they can be used in a future Shaker Card. I attached the die cut piece directly to my card base using the Liquid glue.

On a piece of Basic White I stamped my cupcake with the Memento Ink and the greeting in Early Espresso. The greeting was punched with the coordinating 2-3/8″ punch from the bundle and the cupcake was colored and fussy cut. I used the Bubble Bath, Smoky Slate and #100 Stampin’ Blends to color.

The cupcake once colored was popped up with the Stampin’ Dimensionals. Behind the the greeting is the new Bubble Bath ribbon from the 3/8″ Sheer Ribbon Combo pack. This pack also includes Azure Afternoon and Lemon Lolly. It has a nice shimmer to it and a touch of silver. It almost makes the card look like a pretty little gift!

Once the ribbon was attached to the greeting, I added Stampin’ Dimensionals and attached it to the card front.

To complete my card I added the Bubble Gum Tinsel Gems – 4 pack onto the greeting. There is no shortage of dimension or texture to this card and it is sooo stinkin’ cute! I’m loving those polka dots, so I’m sure you’ll be seeing a lot more of them.

Today, we’re buzzing with excitement as I showcase a delightful card featuring the Bee My Valentine Bundle, but with a twist – it’s all about birthdays! Who said these bees were only for Valentine’s Day? I’m flipping the script and infusing some birthday cheer into our crafting with this fun and vibrant card design.

The front of the card is the vibrant floral pattern from the Bee Mine Designer Series Paper. This paper not only adds a burst of color but also sets the perfect backdrop for our birthday celebration.

At the center stage, our adorable bee friends are highlighted courtesy of the Perennial Postage dies. These fussy cut bees create a charming focal point, bringing the theme to life. But what’s a bee without its shimmer? A touch of Wink of Stella on the bee wings adds a magical sparkle, elevating the whimsical vibe of the card.

While the card may be buzzing with bees, it’s all about sending heartfelt birthday wishes. To emphasize this, I’ve cut the card front short to prominently display the birthday greeting from the So Sincere stamp set. It’s all about making sure my recipient knows they’re being celebrated on their special day!

No birthday card is complete without a bit of sparkle! Besides the Wink of Stella on the wings, I’ve adorned my card with iridescent rhinestones, strategically placed to highlight the stamped birthday greeting. These little gems not only add a touch of elegance but also make the card truly shine.

As card makers, we have the wonderful ability to create moments of joy and celebration through our handmade creations. Whether it’s a birthday, anniversary, or just a day to spread some love, there’s nothing quite like receiving a handmade card filled with thoughtfulness and care.
