Simply Sunday: Making Spirits Bright

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Before I share my card with you today, I want to take a moment to honor those we lost, those who helped, and those who lost their loved ones on this day 15 years ago.  It changed the face of America, but we became strong and rebuilt as we always do.

remembering911

Terrorism is evil and still rears its ugly head all over the world … let’s stand strong together. We are one people and are more a like than we are different (Our Olympians and stampers are a good example of that). Let’s remember how this tragedy brought us together, neighbor helping neighbor, rebuilding together.

We’ll never forget but we move forward, and we live to honor those we lost.

Today’s card is “Making Spirits Bright” …

Yesterday I shared a video of our new “Cable Knit” embossing folder and promised a cute card using this folder.  It is a lot thicker than the folders you are used to using, this is so we can get the detail …

000_3630

I used the cable knit as my background and with it’s deep emboss, it won’t get lost on the card, it stands up on it’s own. It’s done in Very Vanilla and mounted on Garden Green cardstock. The cute little stocking come from the “Hang Your Stocking” bundle.

Our “Making Spirits Bright” comes from the stamp set designed to coordinate with the “Tin of Tags” … however, get your moneys worth and use it on all it’s cards – it’s very versatile!

Let me know what you think … I’ve been missing my stocking die, but now we have the really cute bundle 🙂

Thank you for sharing a part of your day with me. Let me know what you think of the card / embossing folder. I’d also like to know what you want to see … I’d love to help 🙂

A Thoughtful Branches Christmas …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

I know we have some time yet before Christmas, but I know many of you like to get your ideas early so you can begin your holiday stamping.

Today I’d like to share with you a beautiful Christmas card I designed with the Thoughtful Branches stamp set. It’s one of the cards that we made at my Hostess Appreciation Party.  I wanted to used the pretty pine tree from the stamp set and here is what I came up with …

000_3607

It’s so easy to align the foliage with the branches when using the photopolymer stamps… just make sure you have plenty of ink in your ink pads or the tend to stick to the paper a bit.

I teamed up my Thoughtful Branches with the pretty “This Christmas Specialty Designer Series Paper” from the annual catalog. This is a great paper stack when making cards because there are actually 4 – 12 x 12 sheets each of 6 double-sided designs … a total of 24 sheets!

000_3613

OK stampers … put this on your wish list: “Holly Berry Happiness” – this is the stamp set that I took the greeting from – page 27 in the Holiday Catalog. I love the holly, and the bows, and I LOVE the Coordinating Punch!

Last but not least …. I finished off my card with a pretty little bow made from the Cherry Cobbler Bakers Twine, just as you would complete a gift.

000_3607

I hope you enjoyed my card today … Remember that the “Thoughtful Branches” is an exclusive stamp set / bundle which end on August 31st, so if you really like this … just click the link I have for you below and you can purchase it today.

Thank you so much for the visit today, hope your day is a good one.

It’s not a Sneak Peek without a card …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

So sorry for the late post today, but I know you understand who sometimes life gets in the way! Besides extra hours at work, I’m busy planning several upcoming events …

  • Thoughtful Branches Class
  • Hostess Appreciation Party
  • Holiday Catalog Launch Party
  • Holiday Retreat

I’m excited to share a brand new stamp set and thinlits that will be in the Holiday Catalog! I’m not sure I could pick a favorite so I decided to start with the big guy … You got it!! SANTA CLAUS!

I’ve teamed up the “Greetings from Santa” stamp set with the “Detailed Santa” Thinlits Die to create this cute card …

000_3544B

The thinlit die makes it super simple to create this card, in fact … it does all the work. The “Merry Christmas” greeting comes from the “Greetings from Santa stamp set, and so does the “Ho! Ho! Ho!

I used Dazzling Diamonds glitter to jazz up Santa’s hat and the surrounding swirls.

000_3545-Front

The inside of the card has Santa’s list stamped in Basic Gray and the question of the season is …”Naughty or Nice” stamped in Real Red. This is complemented with the new “Candy Cane Lane” Washi Tape. I LOVE IT!! and used it on the front of the cards as well.

000_3547

You are going to LOVE the new Holiday Catalog … so many wonderful new items to share with you.

Thanks for checking in on me today! I’ll be back tomorrow with my Simply Sunday series of cards.

Have a wonderful weekend ~

My Hero Recap …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Happy 4th of July!!

Today I just wanted to post a recap of all the cards that I created so far, using the NEW My Hero Stamp Set. I will share all 7 with you today …

000_3508

Ronald McDonald House Charities®

Stampin’ Up! partnered with Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC). Each year, we design an exclusive stamp set to promote the partnership with RMHC, and donate a portion of the proceeds from the each sale of that set. To date, more than $1,000,000 has been donated from RMHC stamp set sales.

000_3527

Stampin’ Up!’s demonstrators are also encouraged to volunteer their time teaching local Ronald McDonald House guests the creative art of rubber stamping through the Making a Difference program. Demonstrators also create cards at training events which are donated to Ronald McDonald Houses. Those staying at the Houses then use the cards to keep in touch with loved ones while they are away from home.

000_3517

How you can help!

You can help us make a difference. Purchase this year’s set, My Hero, and we’ll donate $3 to Ronald McDonald House Charities for each set purchased.

000_3529

000_3515000_3519000_3521

THE RONALD McDONALD HOUSE

Our homes are filled with more than help, they’re filled with hope

Many families travel far from home and spend several weeks or months to get treatment for their seriously ill or injured children – a long time to be away or to divide a family. And, for children facing a serious medical crisis, nothing seems scarier than not having mom and dad close by for love and support. A Ronald McDonald House is that “home-away-from-home” for families so they can stay close by their hospitalized child at little or no cost.

Our Houses are built on the simple idea that nothing else should matter when a family is focused on the health of

their child – not where they can afford to stay, where they will get their next meal or where they will lay their head at night to rest. We believe that when a child is hospitalized the love and support of family is as powerful as the strongest medicine prescribed.

You can help us make a difference. Purchase this year’s set, My Hero, and we’ll donate $3 to Ronald McDonald House Charities for each set purchased.

I appreciate you staying with me to learn more about the Ronald McDonald House Charities. It’s a foundation that touches my heart, as our children are our future. I’m proud that Stampin’ Up! is a RMHC partner.

Have a safe and wonderful day ~

Christmas in July …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Hope you have been enjoying the “My Hero” showcase. You’ve seen 3 different cards made with this stamp set and I have another for you today.

We’ve all heard of Christmas in July, and today is the 1st of July so I’m sharing my first Christmas card of the year! The saying is from the “My Hero” stamp set and was teamed up with the “This Christmas” Specialty Designer Series Paper and the NEW “Holly” Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

000_3515

I just love that Stampin’ Up! packages cardstocks to coordinate with our Designer papers … it just makes life so much easier.

Once the greeting was stamped in Cherry Cobbler it was punched out using the 2″ circle punch. I backed the greeting with our “Metallic Foil Doilies” … it just adds a beautiful touch to the card.

000_3516

To top it all off and complete my card, I added a gold star from the NEW “Metallic Enamel Shapes.

Are you starting to see how fun and versatile this stamp set it? I’ll have another for you tomorrow too, so be sure to come back and check it out.

Till then …

Have a great day!
