Off to our Stampin’ Retreat!

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

I am off to our annual Stampin’ Retreat … Spring 2017.  This is our 10th retreat and we are excited to gather with fellow stampers. We stay at a 1930’s English Tudor house …

I took this photo of the house (facing beautiful Green Lake) as the sun was setting at our last retreat.  We host one every Spring and Fall.

We’ll have a few new faces this time, it’s just a great time to gather as friends.  All the projects are cut and ready for them … no fuss, just fun!

It’s a weekend to stamp, eat, kick back and relax.

You can follow our fun and antics on my facebook page: Linda’s Stampin’ Escape

Thanks for stopping by.

See you Monday!

SNEAK PEEK: Sharing Sweet Thoughts Stamp Set

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I want to share a sneak peek at a new stamp set and cute cards! The stamp set is called “Sharing Sweet Thoughts” stamp set, and it is the new 2017-18 Ronald McDonald House Charities Stamp Set.

Since 2003, Stampin’ Up! has partnered with RMHC to help families stay close to their hospitalized children. Our commitment to RMHC is four-fold:

  • Each year, we contribute $100,000 to RMHC. To date, we have contributed $1.5 million to RMHC and their network of local RMHC Chapters.
  • Each year, we design an exclusive stamp set and donate a portion of the proceeds to RMHC.
  • We donate cards and other crafting projects created at Stampin’ Up! events to local Houses.
  • We help organize teams of demonstrators to conduct activities in local Houses.

Here is just a sampling of the cute cards & projects you will be able to make with this set …

Helping a sick child fight a serious illness or injury places a huge emotional strain on a family. Add worries about finances and a family can become overwhelmed. Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) help families stay near their hospitalized child at little or no cost, allowing them to focus on helping their child heal, not on where they will stay or get their next meal. Learn more about Ronald McDonald House Charities.

You want to be sure to add this to your wish list when the new catalog comes out! You know I’ll have more samples for you and this will be a featured stamp set at my New Catalog Kick-Off Party! Watch for dates and details!

Until then … you can still shop the retiring list. And don’t forget the CLEARANCE RACK … they’ve added more goodies!

Thank you so much for stopping by ~

Have a great day!

Retiring: Designer Paper Parade of Cards …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

My apologies for the delay but for some reason my computer did not want to work yesterday. I played with it for four hours (while cutting and prepping for my upcoming retreat). This morning … working fine! Go figure.  I’ve got a wonderful parade of cards to share with you today.

Many times I use my designer papers for Quick -n- Easy cards, because our papers are so gorgeous, all you need to do is add a greeting.  Other times they work great to embellish a card or a card layout.

Grab a cup of coffee and sit back with you browse through the designer papers and the beautiful cards that they helped create!

“Affectionately Yours” Specialty Designer Series Paper …

These two cards don’t even touch the surface of the beautiful papers included in this package.

“This Christmas” Specialty Designer Series Paper ….

I am happy that Stampin’ Up! has brought back Christmas in the Annual Catalog! Love the paper!

“Fruit Stand” Designer Series Paper …

How fun is this one! I sent it to a friend who is going through cancer treatments.

“By the Shore” Designer Series Paper …

Another series of paper that I did not play enough with.  I really need to sit down and make a play date with my papers!! I like this for a more masculine card.

“Floral Affection” Designer Series Paper …

“Serene Scenery” Designer Series Paper Stack ….

In the up coming catalogs, you will notice that the designer stacks are no longer bound … they are free, so there is no tearing or glue left hanging on your paper! You ask … Stampin’ Up! delivers!

From the Occasions Catalog you’ll find …

“Sending Love” Designer Series Paper

“Falling in Love” Designer Series Paper …

“Party Animal” Designer Series Paper …

“Cupcakes & Carousels” Designer Series Paper…

“Tasty Treats” Designer Series Paper …

So as you can see, our designer papers are so awesome to use when you need quick -n- easy cards or when you want to dress up a card a little bit more!!

I thank you so much for hanging with me during my computer troubles ~

Have a warm and beautiful day!

Retiring: Floral Affection …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

It appears my computer is a bit temperamental today, but with a little perseverance I have today’s post! I wanted to share one of my favorite embossing folders that are retiring this year: the Floral Affection embossing folder. The beautiful In-Colors highlighted are here for another year yet … yeah!!

This is a great shot of the flowers from the Floral Affection embossing folder.  This is a set of two and was a big seller for me. It makes beautiful quick -n- easy cards! And in this busy world … isn’t that what we need sometimes?!

Oh yes, the beautiful “Rushed Ribbons” are also on the retiring list! These were one of my favorites, because the rushing made them so pretty and they were really easy to work with … they laid nicely on the cardstock and tied beautifully.

The second of the two embossing folders is this pretty double swap … it frames you greetings perfectly.  Again, these embossing folders add a beautiful texture and with just a bit of color make a perfectly simple card look so elegant.

Here is one more card created with the “Floral Affection” embossing folder. Simple yet pretty… and the color combinations are endless.

Thanks for hanging out and waiting to see what I had to share with you today.  Stop back tomorrow as I will showcase a parade of Designer Series papers.

Let me know if you have any questions or need help with your stamping.

Have an awesome day my friend ~

Retiring: Bear Hugs!

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

How are you on this fine Friday? Hope this day finds you well and happy!

Today I’m sharing some cute cards and projects from the irresistible “Bear Hugs” stamp set. These two fun lovin’ bears are filled with good wishes as you’ll see on our first card “Wishing You a Day Full of Sunshine” …

Such a cute card for the “fisherman” in the family! Just think of all the things you can do with this stamp set. This adorable gift is perfect for the “honey makers” in the family!!

This next card was one of our Swap Cards at one of my Annual Retreats made by Peggy! This card is perfect for today because you don’t want to wave good-bye to this stamp set until you’ve added it to your collection!

Give as many bear hugs as you want to give— you’ll never run out if you have the Bear Hugs Stamp Set and the Bear Hugs Framelits Dies. Watch how easy it is to put a bear hug in a card and send it anywhere.

Although the “bundle” is no longer available the coordinating dies are.  Here are the cute grouping of cards and gift packaging that was shown in the video!  I loved the way they turned the “Wisconsin” Brown or Black bears into … Panda Bears!! Oh my gosh … too cute!

Although it states that our “retired list” is here until the end of May … that does not mean that stamp sets, accessories and such will be available for that long.  It states available through May 31st or while supplies last … and once they’re gone, their gone!

Check out the retired lists below … just click on the STAMPS, RETIRING BUNDLES of EVERYTHING ELSE bars – this will take you directly to those retiring lists.  Some items are discounted up to 50% off!

Thank you for stopping by today, and let me know if you have any questions, or need help placing an order.

Have a wonderful Friday … let the weekend begin!

Retiring: My Favorite Framelits!

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

It’s kind of sad to see one of my favorite accessories leaving … the STAR framelits!!  Many of you know that my downline (the group of people who signed up as demonstrators with me) team is named the Star’s by Design, so of course I love anything Stars, and these dies are no exception!

Today I’m sharing with you some of the wonderful cards that I have created using the Star Framelits … The designer paper used does not matter, this is a FUN layout – Christmas, Graduation, New Baby, Birthday’ and more … just change out the paper and the color scheme and you’ve got a great card!(Check out the card under the video near the end of my post and you’ll see what I’m talking about)

This luminary was very easy to make with the dies and designer paper.  That paper is no longer available, it’s retired, but you can use any designer paper (just like the card above!)All you do is cut out your star image from each panel (I used 3″ x 3″) then adhere vellum to the inside, and then I simply used “Washi Tape” to secure my sides together! Doesn’t get any easier than that.

I love this Old Fashion look of this card and so easy to create… a little sponging on the sides and you’ve aged your paper.  This was done with Crumb Cake ink on Crumb Cake cardstock! On this card I doubled the stars so you had a lot more dimension on the card.  Another Quick -n- Easy one to make.

Ahhhh … One of my favorites! Simple elegance done in Gold Glimmer paper and Very Vanilla. The stars were layered with the center cut out of the glimmer paper, exposing the Gold Foil paper underneath. So pretty! FYI … the Star’s Impressions Embossing Folder I used on this card is also retiring!

Not only are the Star Framelits retiring but the “Super Star” stamp set ….

And the “Shooting Star” stamp sets are retiring!!  These are two really cute stamp sets and the Shooting Star can be bundled with additional framelits to create “Slider Cards”!!!

Slider cards are keepers. They’re interactive, they’re fun, and they’ll be looked at (and played with) again and again—they’re a cardmaker’s dream! Watch this video to learn how you can make your own slider cards with the Sliding Star Framelits Dies and the Big Shot.

OK … One last card! I’m not showing you these to make you sad because they are leaving, I want to make sure YOU know what’s on that retirement list, because I don’t want you to miss out on any of these wonderful products.

We both know there are even more goodies coming in June, but until then … I don’t want you to miss out on these goodies!!

Let me know if you have any questions on the cards shown today & Thank you so much for stopping by ~

Have a great day and smile like a star!

Retiring: Botanical Blooms

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I’d like to share a very popular pair that will also be retiring! The Botanical Blooms stamp set and Botanical Builder Framelits Dies. This was a fun one and you can create the most amazing cards and gifts.

Just look at the variety here …

This is a card that we did in our Technique group in which they learned the “Frosted Impressions” Technique.  It’s quite easy really … We ran a “Window Sheet” through the BigShot with an embossing folder and then we used a sanding block to create the “frosted” look.

These die cut flowers are so pretty and just a touch of sponging in the center gives you a multi-colored bloom … just like the real ones!

This was very easy to make with the dies and designer paper.  That paper is no longer available, it retired last year.  So if you have a favorite this year … get it now, they all retire!!

I love this simple yet elegant card and so easy to create. This one I doubled the flowers so you had the lighter one peeking through.

Not sure where I found this grouping … I may have pulled it off Pinterest or the Stampin’ Up! blog but again it shows how quick and easy it is to create with this pair: The Botanical Blooms stamp set and Botanical Builder Framelits Dies.

Let me know if you have any questions on the cards shown today. If you love these pretty blooms, you won’t want to miss out.  You can click on the links below for more information, or to begin shopping.

Thank you for visiting my blog today ~

Hope your day is as beautiful as a tropical flower!

Retiring: Sunburst Framelits

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

The sun is setting on one of my favorite dies … the Sunburst Framelits die. This die is so versatile and easy to use.  Today I have several cards using this die to share with you.

The thought behind the card was the use of the “Sunburst” Thinlits die. I cut out one in Basic Black and Basic Gray.  They are layered and then with a small twist, you’ll get a “peak” of the gray behind the black.  My background behind that is the Neutrals Designer Series Paper Stack.

000_4135

This was adhered to a Basic Black mat and then onto the Melon Mambo base. My pretty little flowers that are also in Melon Mambo were cut from the “Botanical Builder” Framelits. After cutting them out on the BigShot I sponged some of the edges to create more depth on the flower.

The greeting is stamped in Basic Black and then punched out with our circle punches. This was popped up with the dimensionals to create the focal point.

If you like this card, here are a few more cards that I have shared with you in the past using the Sunburst Thinlits die …

000_3227

Let me know if you have any questions on the cards shown today. The Sunburst Framelit die is so easy to use and as you can see by the samples, can be used in many different ways.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.

Have a “sunny” day ~

Simply Sunday: Retiring Hero’s

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

It’s that time of year… the Retirement List is out! It’s so sad to see some of our favorites leave, but you know there are some great new stamp sets coming!

One of my favorite stamp sets retiring it the Ronald McDonald House stamp set … “My Hero”. This stamp set touches my heart, because for every stamp set I sell … Stampin’ Up! donates $3 to the Ronald McDonald houses that host families so they can be near their children in the hospital with life threatening illnesses. I can’t image having to go through that, I’ve been very blessed to have healthy kids and grandkid … that’s why it touches me so.

This stamp set is so versatile it should be in everyone’s stamp collection!!  I have 7 card samples for you from this one stamp set! Let’s begin with a card that wishes you well (and the little umbrella ties in with April Showers).

000_3521

The umbrella in the “My Hero” stamp set coordinates with the Umbrella Weather Framelits on page 193 of our annual catalog.

Our next card is easy to make and I used the Layering Ovals Framelits to make my eggs and the Layering Square Framelits for my greeting.  Once you have these framelits … you’ll wonder how you ever made cards without them!

000_3519

This is the card that bears the name of our stamp set “My Hero”. Here I pulled out all the punches to create this card. The greeting stamp coordinates with the Best Badge punch and the Banner Triple punch was used for the banners … let’s not forget our stars!

000_3508

Now here’s a fun one … I this card I used the pumpkin face to adorn the lines cut from the “Swirly Scribbles Framelits”. Gently use the end of your scissors to curl the free ends.

000_3517

I used the Heart stamp to create this cute little Valentine’s card. The pretty paper comes from the “Pop of Pink Specialty Designer Paper” and the Sweetheart Heart punch.

000_3527

Next, our cute little “Celebrate” card. The designer paper is the “Festive Birthday”.  Again I used the Banner punch to create my banners and the band in the center was embossed with the Festive embossing folder to give it some texture and a little jazz!

000_3529

And last but not least is our Christmas card.  I used the “This Christmas” Specialty paper which is layered over the “Holly” embossed cardstock. Our greeting was punched out and layered over the Metallic Foil Doily and topped off with a Star from the Metallic Enamel Shapes.

000_3515

I wanted to share all of these cards at once so that you could see how versatile this stamp set really is. You can be a HERO, when you purchase the “My Hero” stamp set … $3.00 goes to the Ronald McDonald Houses throughout the US. It’s a easy way to help children fighting for their lives by keeping their families close to them.

Let me know if you have any questions or need help ordering this stamp set.

Thank you for stopping by …

Stay healthy and have a nice day!

SUGGESTED STAMPIN’ SUPPLIES …

Dragonfly Best …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I’m here to share with you my “alternative” project to the April Paper Pumpkin kit! Hope you all got your kit by now, because the card was created around the “FREE GIFT” that was included in this special kit… the Watercolor Pencils!!

With just a few strokes of the Watercolor Pencils in 3 of the 4 colors included in the kit, you can create a beautiful watercolor background.  They even included the paintbrush! Sweet 🙂  The watercolor paper was also included and cut to size!! All I did was mount it onto a piece of Melon Mambo and then onto the card base (also included).

I set that aside to dry and then cut my dragonfly from the “Detailed Dragonfly Framelits” from a piece of Basic Black cardstock in my scrap folder. Once the watercoloring was dry, I mounted my flower (pretty little embellishment included in the kit) added the dragonfly and stamped the greeting… Also included in the kit!!

So I didn’t have to add much to my card … just 2 pieces of cardstock to create this beautiful card. And at this time of year, I think it’s nice to give a little “Thank You” for all the hard work that some of our teachers do all year long.

Hope you enjoyed, and I hope you have a beautiful day.

Thank you for stopping back to see my “alternative” project from the April Paper Pumpkin kit!

Easter Surprise

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I’m going to share MaryJo Brydens card that she gave to me at the Shreveport OnStage Event. I’ve seen this one before but it is so much cuter in your hand! MaryJo did tell me that she cased this card from one she saw on Pinterest … by hey, we ALL do that!

The “SURPRISE” is the cutest egg created by using the Oval Framelits!! Isn’t that a great idea!? Let’s start with the stamp set that MaryJo used to lay down the color for her egg … the “Work of Art” stamp set. Her colors are Pear Pizzazz, Blushing Bride, So Saffron, Marina Mist and I believe Wisteria Wonder.

The pretty little flowers were created by using the “Petite Petals” punch and the “Wink of Stella” to give it that pretty sparkle! The pearls add a nice touch.

MaryJo added some texture to the pink cardstock by using the “Festive” embossing folder … You can emboss this either before or after you cut out the oval. I prefer embossing with my folders after I cut the image out.

It was so sweet for MaryJo to give me one of her swaps …I love these Stampin’ Up! events! You meet the nicest people. I feel the same way about all the wonderful people I have met who come and stamp with me!

Thank you for sharing a part of your Saturday with me.

I hope you and your family have a wonderful Easter tomorrow. Enjoy the blessings of family, good food and precious friendships.

TODAY’S HIGHLIGHTED STAMPIN’ SUPPLY LIST …

Sharing is Wonderful!

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I’d like to share a cute little gift I received from our table mate from OnStage … MaryJo Bryden.

You see… when you attend one of these events the question “Are you swapping”? usually is part of the first paragraph! lol  Well, since I was not swapping, MaryJo was kind enough to give us one of hers …

This a cute little note holder. She created what we call a “matchbook” cover to protect the post-it notes. Such a cute gift and a sweet gesture from MaryJo to share with us.

Just a short post today to share with you a special something that someone shared with me Isn’t that what this whole industry is about!

Thanks for stopping by …

Have a wonderful day!

OnStage 2017 Sneak Peek!

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I have more fun to share with you from our “OnStage” Roadtrip. Our Saturday morning began with a beautiful sunrise … this is the view from our room:

Then we had breakfast ordered in, so once we were done eating we were ready for the day! Sarah checked in (I did that last night a CenterStage) and got her bag full of goodies which included a new stamp set. Now it was time to find a spot to sit …

We found a great table … I wish I would have gotten a picture of / or with these ladies (not shown in photo above), they were wonderful to sit and stamp with. They shared their blocks with us because of course I left mine at home! I wasn’t fully packed and still had to go into work the morning we should have been leaving! Oh well, it turned out OK.

Not only did they share their blocks … they shared their swaps both to look at and to take home!  I’ll be posting the 2 swaps I received from MaryJo Bryden tomorrow. This is just tooooo cute …

Now I can’t share all of the wonderful things they showed us because I’ll be sharing them at a later date either on my blog, or in my classes or even on retreat.

There always has to be fun and to have photo opportunities.  Stampin’ up! provides us with the coolest tools to commemorate our events …

Notice the “In-Colors” on the sign I’m holding? Yup … they think of everything! Speaking of In-Colors; I gave you a sneak peek yesterday, so how about seeing these beautiful new colors in action? Here they are in all their splendor and glory …

How do you like the coordinating Designer Series paper? Stampin’ Up! makes it so easy to create beautiful cards without the stress … it all coordinates!

Well, I can’t say good-bye just yet … I have one more sneak peek from a new stamp set called “More than Chocolate”. This is a sample from one of the many boards of samples displayed for us at OnStage, and what else would a card making Candy store manager want to share …

Hope you enjoyed taking this little road trip with me and seeing some of the cool stuff we see at OnStage. If you want to see more … YOU should join my group of Star’s and the Stampin’ Up! family. It truly is a family of fun loving, like minded people who love to stamp. It doesn’t matter if you just do it for the discount or if you want to make it big! We as demonstrators fill the entire spectrum.

ME? I started for the discount, but deep down I wanted to earn the Incentive Trips (and I did) then when I needed to slow down a bit, I could … then I can pick it up again when I want. Do what works for YOU … it’s your dream! I’m just here to help and guide when needed. I have a fun group that likes to share, we have a private Star’s Facebook page, we have meetings and retreats and love to stamp!

You can contact me below or e-mail me for more information (NO Obligation) lindaluvs2stamp@aol.com

Have a delicious kind of day, and don’t forget to stop back tomorrow when I share MaryJo’s card with you.

Thanks ~
