Naturally Amazing Specialty Paper …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Hope you had a wonderful weekend!

Today I’d like to share with you the amazing “Natural Composition Specialty Paper” … and 2 very different ways to use this versatile product.  The designer paper comes with 2 sheets each of 6 single sided designs – no need to chose between sides on this one!  The patterns on the “Natural Composition Specialty Paper” have raised, shiny images, as if they were embossed.

Our first card is a super simple card with just a little surprise.

000_0297

It’s time to take out your brayer again… you can actually brayer any color onto this specialty cardstock, we used the Cherry Cobbler, and because the pattern is a clear emboss, the natural background comes through.

We added a simple tag with the “Vintage Trinkets” and pinned it to the beautiful “Victoria Crochet Trim”.  Sometimes simplicity is more beautiful than all that layering.  This is a perfect card when you need something quick, but want a touch of elegance.

Our next card is equally simple … just stamp and emboss.  Yes, you can emboss on this wonderful cardstock.

000_0293

The flowers come from the “Serene Silhouettes” stamp set and are embossed in gold.  The birthday greeting comes from the stamp set “Perfectly Penned”.  I love the natural tone of the card.

If you don’t have your package of  “Natural Composition Specialty Paper” … you may want to stock up, because it can be used for so much more.  I just wanted to show you two of my favorite techniques on this paper.

Here is a list of supplies used for today’s card …

Christmas Wishes in Silver …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Hope you are having a good weekend.  It’s a bit chilly here in Wisconsin, and I have to admit … I have turned the heat on a time or two!

In my last post, I shared with you a simple card using the “Joyful Christmas” stamp set, so I wanted to show you another that is entirely different.

Today’s card share is a non-traditional but stunning Christmas card.  Normally we don’t think of using black for Christmas cards, but paired with the beautiful Silver Foil Sheets, you can’t go wrong.

000_0282

I teamed up this color combination with the “Triple Time” Technique to create this elegant card.  It really was quite easy to create.  I began with a 4 x 4 inch square in the silver foil.  I cut my black mats 1/2″ smaller.  With that in mind, the silver squares are: 4″ x 4″, 3-1/4″ x 3-1/4″, and 2-1/2″ x 2-1/2″.  The black will measure: 3-1/2″ x 3-1/2″ and 2-3/4″ x 2-3/4″.

Once all your layers are cut, you take out the black mats, stack up the silver … then stamp and emboss.

I used the Silver Metallic Encore pad as my ink medium, then the silver embossing powder.  You will notice some gaps between the layers of silver… it’s OK because your black mats will cover that up.  Be sure to align your stamped image before assembling.

000_0288

My Christmas Wishes come from the “Joy to the World” stamp set, and are also stamped with the Encore pad, then embossed with the silver embossing powder.

Hope you enjoyed the two different styles of the poinsettia, Joyful Christmas stamp set.

Thanks so much for sharing your day with me.

Stop back again for more inspiration.

Christmas filled with …

Hello my Stampin’ Friends,

Wow … the weekend is upon us again.  I cannot believe how fast this year has gone, and Christmas is just around the corner.

Today’s card share is a little love and inspiration for your Christmas card making.  This card began with scraps!  Of course, you and I know, anything bigger than a 1″ piece is probably not scrap.

000_0278

I began with the “Season of Style” Designer Series Paper Stack that was cut off a card with a “boo-boo” (also known as a mistake).  Oops … we don’t make mistakes, only new opportunities and design changes!  I adhered that to my Crumb Cake  cardstock.  It’s easy picking colors when the designer paper has all the colors combined so nicely.

Then I thought …. hmmm, I think the poinsettia from the “Joyful Christmas” stamp set would look nice on here.  So, I heat embossed it in white (because I never saw a Crumb Cake colored poinsettia)!  I embossed two, and cut both out … first the entire flower, then just the center piece so I would have the beautiful dimensional flower.

I used Stampin’ Dimensionals between the two layers of the poinsettia, and, to mount the poinsettia to the card.  I did stamp the leaves, in Gumball Green (also in the designer paper) directly onto the card front.

Last, I embossed my greeting, taken from the “Christmas Messages” stamp set.  Both stamp sets and the designer paper  used today can be found in the Holiday catalog.  Don’t have one?  Let me know and I will get one out to you… they are good through January 2nd.

So as I stated in my opening, my card share is a little love … my greeting to wish you all, not just a Christmas season filled with joy and laughter, but the entire year.  You … my stampin’ friends have been so good to me, and I appreciate you, and enjoy our time together!

000_0280

I also want to be your inspiration to stamp, and share your beautiful cards with others, because we all know, everyone enjoys getting a hand stamped card.

PS.  I think I would add “pearls” to the center of the card to finish it off!

Have a wonderful day!

New Photopolymer Stamps and Scrapbooking Share …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Just released …

b1_demoheader_photopolymer_Oct1513_NA

Like it or not, Christmas is just around the corner (hopefully you’re in the “like it” camp). Either way, you’ll want our brand-new Endless Wishes Photopolymer Stamp Set so you’re prepped with festive greetings for all the little gifts, tags, and holiday projects you’ll make this season!

Personally, I love snowflakes (as long as they don’t pile up on my driveway) … they are so easy to create cards and scrapbook pages with them.  And if you live in Wisconsin like I do, you can use them for almost 6 months out of the year!  Besides, the greetings are simply irresistible!  So whether you need tags, cards or scrapbook pages … this stamp set will have you covered!

Stampin’ Up! has several stamp sets in the Photopolymer … check it out here! (Click on link)

My project share today are 3 scrapbook pages I did as a class at our local Historical Society.

000_1356

You could easily substitute the new “Endless Wishes” photopolymer stamp set snowflakes for the ones I used on my “Winter in Washington County” page.  I used 3 different shades of blue to create some depth in the stamping.  The technique you see is the “Triple stamp” technique.  See More Here

I love using stamps in my scrapbooking … it gives you so much versatility and depth.  Any of our stamps work great, but the clear photopolymer stamps seem to be just the right fit for scrapbooking.  You could also turn this wintery scrapbook page / technique into a beautiful card.

The pages you see here are quite simple, but my focus when teaching has always been to highlight the photos, along with your journaling … they should really tell the story.  Your stamping and embellishments should compliment your photos, not hide them.

Hope you enjoyed today’s share.

Thanks for dropping by.

TWO 4 TUESDAY: Scrapbook page & Fun Technique!

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

I missed you yesterday.  I was off catching up with friends, preparing for my upcoming Holiday Retreat, and just life in general.

So, today I will share 2 projects!  First is a Fall Scrapbook page, and the second is a fun technique that I shared with my clubs last year.

My fall page is all about the beautiful colors of fall.

100_5941

The leaves were created with the “Autumn Accents” Bigz die (127812) found on page 192 of our annual catalog.  This die makes collecting leaves quick and easy.  You will also see the “textures” on some of the leaves … a little roll through the BigShot with the “Perfect Polka Dots” embossing folder and the Core’dinations (129956 / pg.157) sandable cardstock – Neutrals collection.  Yep, a little sanding highlights the texture by exposing the core color which is lighter than the outer layers.  Simple to make … just add your pictures and some journaling and you have another page done!

My second project is a cute fall card using the “Faux Tile” Technique:

100_5947

I did create this card last year.  If you have not noticed, we have discontinued the glossy cardstock – which I used here.  If you don’t have any left in your stash … go to any office supply store and purchase the glossy photo cardstock, it works the same.

You will need the “Simply Score” Scoring Tool (122334 / pg.178) for this technique.  By using the  glossy cardstock, you eliminate a couple of steps from the original “Faux Tile” technique.  Cut your cardstock to the desired size for your card.  Place onto “Simply Score” tool and score every 1/2 inch.  Turn carstock 45 degrees (on it’s side) and score every 1/2″ creating a tile pattern.  Now, just simply stamp your images onto the card.  I used the “Gently Falling” (pg.65) stamp set.  My final step was to brayer over the entire piece … careful not to push too hard, you want your “grout” lines to show.

If you don’t have access to the glossy … you can use our Whisper White, score, and stamp, the next step would be to lightly tap your VersaMark pad onto the tiled area (Not too hard … you don’t want VersaMark in the creases).  Then emboss with clear embossing powder.  This will give you a that real tile / grout look!  Just takes a bit longer than the “simple version” described above, but stands out a bit more.

I’d love to hear what you think about this technique.

Thanks for stopping by … I will be back tomorrow with another fun project.

MDS_DWNLDA_ZOMBIE_PARTY_PRINTABLES

You know I’ve got mine!!  This is the “Zombie Party Printables” … I think this is just what all you “Walking Dead” fans need for your “Dead Head” and season premiere parties.  Or  just a whole lot of fun for Halloween, which is just around the corner.  You know there a plenty of zombies around, who would love to party with you.  I just love this (but I love Halloween and the Walking Dead)

Well … I had to add my touch to all this too!  A fun and simple way to light up the party …

000_0270

Grab a couple votive cups and just wrap the “Witches Brew Designer Washi Tape” around them and you’re good to go!  So simple, yet so cute.  You can do this with any of our washi tapes!

You still have plenty of time to purchase either or both of these cute digital downloads and have the best decorated house on the block.

Just one more Halloween Party idea …

Guest Stampers Card Share …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

The weekend is here so I’ll make this post short and sweet.  Short with words … sweet with more card shares!

The first is a really cute Halloween card from Stacie Viau …

100_2213

I think this is such a neat card!  Stacy used the new Envelope Punch Board!  The also used the Bite Me Photopolymer Stamp Set and the “Witches Brew Designer Washi Tape”.

The new Envelope Punch Board is currently on back order, they sold out much quicker than they expected.

The second set of cards that we made during Gloria’s “Monochromatic” class…

000_0265

I had not used my “Gorgeous Grunge” stamp set because I wasn’t sure what to do (we got it FREE at Convention)  … I’m not really into grunge, but I truly love this card we made.  Oh … and there is another but I couldn’t show you because my “technique clubs” will be using this in the near future!  OK … so now I’m hooked on “Gorgeous Grunge”.

The last card share is from Connie Plout …

000_0268

Connie also used the Envelope Punch Board to create her card … Oh – I can’t wait to get mine!  This card is just too cute.

Hope you enjoyed the card share, and thanks for stopping by!

Have a wonderful day.

“She Believed” Card Share …

Hello Stampin’ Friends<

It’s finally Friday, and I hope you have a wonderful weekend planned.  I’m meeting with my Saturday Stampin’ Technique club in the morning, and then I start preparing for the upcoming Holiday retreat.  I’ve got some wonderful projects planned for my group, and I can’t wait to get started.

Today I have another card share from Gloria’s Impressionistic Stampers Fall Regional, and downline member (Star’s) Brenda Morateck.  It’s a beautiful card showcasing the new In-Colors …

100_2214

Let me start with the colors … Crisp Cantaloupe, Pistachio Pudding, and Strawberry Slush.  They look so good together.

The stamp set used to create that “watermark” flowers is “Secret Garden” which is found on page 94 of our annual catalog.  Might I just say that each of the flower centers were created “dot by dot” with our “White Gel Pen” (105021).  It really ties in all the colors of the card.

The greeting comes from “Feel Goods” stamp set on page 25 of our current catalog.  I love this greeting set and use it often.  The greeting and the mat (Pistachio Pudding) were die cut with the “Labels Collections” (125598) Framelits.

100_2215

To finish off the card … the beautiful Strawberry Slush (130023) 3/8″ Ruffle Stretch Ribbon was added.  Brenda shared a tip that she received from her talented up-line, Debi Krebsbach … When using using ribbon, only adhere it to the card where it will be showing (not under the greeting).  This is a fantastic “money saving” tip, especially if you are making multiple cards.

Thanks for stopping by today …

I will have more samples from the Impressionistic Stampers Fall Regional to share with you tomorrow.  Till then, have a great day!

Star’s cards to share …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

I’m back with more from the Impressionistic Stampers Fall Regional.  I’m happy to share the following cards with you, as these are some very talented demonstrators and I’m proud to say they are “Star’s” … members of my group.

I’ll begin with one of the newest members to our Star’s group – Rebecca Salminen.  She is in my second level, and we welcome her to our stampin’ family.  Here is her swap card –

100_2207

Rebecca used the Warmth & Wonder Stamp set which is a “Hostess” only stamp set from the Holiday catalog … so pretty embossed in gold.  Can’t go wrong with “Modern Medley” Designer Series Paper!  Can’t tell you how many times I have used it on my cards … love it, love it, love it!

I also love the pop of color by using the Red Glimmer Paper.  All I can say is … “Nice job, Rebecca”!

The next card is from my direct downline member and friend … Connie Heersma.

100_2208

Connie has brought together some bold colors to create this fall Birthday card … and using the ever popular “Lovely as a Tree”.  This really is an awesome “go to” stamp set … so versatile!  The double stamping creates beautiful dimension.

Hope you enjoyed today’s card share, I will continue tomorrow with more from our regional event.

Thanks for stopping by.

Enjoy the day!

It’s Flippin’ Birthday Cards!

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Today I’m going to share with you, two of the swap cards that I received at Gloria’s regional event this past weekend.

The first is a card made by Sharon Kerr who used our new “Circle Card Thinlits Die” (133480) that was introduced this fall.  It made flip cards quick and easy… just roll it through your Bigshot!

100_2221

Sharon also used the delightful “Gingham Garden Washi Tape” (129314) and the fun “Blossom Punch” (125603) … both are found in our annual catalog, to create this totally cute card!  (Just click on the highlighted words to view the product).  I love that she ran the die through the BigShot with the washi tape … and then punched the flower!  Don’t you just love the effect!

The second card is from Bonnie Miller.  Bonnie came all the way from Minnesota to join us … how wonderful was that.  You gotta love her card … this flip technique will never go out of style.    You use the layering of the card to secure the string (fishing line, dental floss works too), and then securing the string between the two punched circles.

100_2220

Bonnie used the “Sassy Salutations” stamp set found on page 39 of our annual catalog for her greeting.  I love this totally “fun” font … it just relays “happy”.

Now help me out here, but I cannot place the butterfly … what do you think?  I can tell you though, that the background was embossed with the “Modern Mosaic” (129984) embossing folder.  Embossing with the folders adds a wonderful texture to the cards.

I’d love to hear what you think …

Thanks for stoppin’ by!

Gloria’s regional, stampin’ fun!

Hello Stampin’ Friend,

I’m back!  My apologies for no post yesterday, but I just got home from a Regional event Saturday, and was a bit under the weather (besides my Holiday Stamp-a-stack).  I did not cancel my class, and I must say that stampin’ with the ladies made me feel much better!

Saturday I attended (and presented) the Impressionistic Stampers Fall Regional hosted by my upline Gloria Helmbrecht.  It was great to see my fellow demonstrators again, some I have not seen in a while! I had an awesome time!  Even lunch was a hoot!!

I helped a little in the planning, but was still surprised to see all the wonderful “goodies” packed in the beautiful bags, Gloria had made for all of us.

100_2199

By all means … these is not all the stamping that we did.  In fact, many of the projects are not shown because I will be using them at future stampin’ events.  There are even some swaps that I did not include, because they will also be used in my events, classes or retreats!

The theme for the regional was “classes” … projects that the demonstrators could take back to their customers and share!  So again, that is why you don’t see all the stamped projects we did.

I will however, share two of the great cards that Gloria did for her “acrylic block” class (I can show you because I don’t have that set, so when I share these techniques with you … they will look totally different!)  That’s also why she gave us acrylic blocks in our bag.

100_2201

The first is a “reflection” technique card … much simpler than it looks.  You will need a brayer … so if you don’t have one, put one on your next order.

100_2200

The “Thinking of You” card has 2 different techniques that are combined to create this beautiful card.  Many of you will recognize this stamp set … “Simply Sketched”.  It was one of the stamp sets I showcased at my Hostess Appreciation Party.  It is a “Hostess” only stamp set, and I would love to help you get yours for free.

Did I think going to the Impressionistic Stampers Fall Regional was worth it … YOU BET!!  I came home with idea’s for 3 new classes, additional ideas for cards, and a whole lot of catching up with friends!  Let’s not forget the goodies included in that bag!  THANK YOU GLORIA!!!  It was an awesome day.

OK … I’m off to work, but stop back tomorrow and the rest of the week, because I will be sharing some of the fabulous swap cards I received at Gloria’s regional from my fellow demonstrators and my downline members!

Have an awesome Monday!
