Sparkle with the Split Card Technique ✨

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

I’m so glad you’re here today. I have a fun card-making idea to share with you—the Split Card Technique—featuring the stunning Elegant Pine Snowflakes Designer Paper. This is one of those quick-and-easy techniques that creates an impressive WOW factor, perfect for any occasion. Before we dive in, I want to pause and say a heartfelt “Thank You” to everyone who placed an order during yesterday’s Stamp-tastic Sale. Your support means so much and allows me to keep bringing you fresh ideas and inspiration! 💙

Card Dimensions

  • Pretty Peacock Cardstock: Base 5 3/4″ x 5 1/2″ (score at 1 1/2″), plus 1 strip 5 1/2″ x 1 1/2″
  • Designer Paper: 2 pieces at 5 1/4″ x 1 1/4″ + 1 snowflake
  • Basic White Cardstock: 5 1/4″ x 4″ (inside), plus 1 scrap large enough for snowflake and 1 strip 1/4″ wide for greeting

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Glue the snowflake onto white cardstock and fussy cut. (This strengthens the piece so it will hold your card together.)
  2. Adhere the designer paper strips to the top and bottom strips of your card front.
  3. Align the cardstock strip along the bottom of the card front. (Tip: Use a Post-It Note to hold it in place while you work!)
  4. Attach the snowflake to the top and bottom strips, connecting the card. Be careful to place adhesive only where the snowflake touches the cardstock strips.
  5. Add the white cardstock insert to the inside of your card.
  6. Stamp Greeting with Pretty Peacock on the white 1/4″ width strip and trim ends as desired… attach with Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop it up!
  7. Embellish as desired—I used the Cherry Cobbler & Pearl Adhesive-Backed Berries to give my snowflake extra pop!

This card comes together so quickly, yet looks like you spent hours creating it. Try experimenting with different designer papers for a variety of looks—you’ll love how versatile this technique is!

I hope today’s project inspires you to give the Split Card Technique a try. With the beautiful Elegant Pine Snowflakes Designer Paper, the results are nothing short of magical. Remember, simple steps can deliver big “WOW” moments, and this card proves just that! Be sure to grab your favorite designer papers and see how many unique variations you can create.

Thanks for joining me today … hope yours is filled with creativity!

🎄 Day 4: 12 Days of Christmas: Deck the Halls with Sparkling Ornaments! 🎄

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Welcome to Day 4 of my 12 Days of Christmas series! Today, we’re turning up the holiday cheer with a project that’s as quick and simple as it is beautiful. We’re creating Christmas ornaments that are perfect for decking your cards—or even adorning gifts!

This festive creation features some of my favorite key products: the Take a Bow Designer Series Paper, the Berry Burst, Old Olive & White 12” x 12” Glimmer Specialty Paper, and the Frozen Edges Bundle. Together, these items make it easy to create ornaments that shimmer and shine with holiday magic. Let’s get started!

How to Make Sparkling Ornaments

First, I cut the Take a Bow Designer Series Paper into 3” x 3” squares. The festive patterns make a perfect base for our ornaments, and this size is just right for punching and layering with additional sparkle.

Next, I grabbed the white paper from the Glimmer Specialty Paper pack and cut it into 6” x 3” strips. Using the Frozen Edges Bundle, I die-cut icicles from these strips. Here’s the fun part: you get two icicle pieces with each cut—top and bottom both work beautifully! To make them easier to use, I cut these in half again, creating 3” strips.

I glued the 3” glimmer icicle strips to the top of each 3” x 3” designer paper square, instantly adding a frosty sparkle that perfectly complements the holiday patterns. With the layers ready, I took out my trusty 2 3/8” Circle Punch and punched out the ornament shapes. The result? Gorgeous ornaments adorned with sparkling icicles that are quick and easy to create!

You will complete your card by attaching your ornaments to the front which boasts more of the Take a Bow Designer Series Paper. My Merry greeting comes from the Christmas Labels Bundle. How cute is this card!

Don’t forget, many of these items—like the Frozen Edges Bundle—are on the Last Chance List, so grab them before they’re gone.

I hope today’s project has inspired you to add a little extra sparkle to your holiday cards. Be sure to check back tomorrow for Day 5 of my 12 Days of Christmas series. Until then, happy crafting and happy holidays! 🎅✨

Twelve Weeks of Christmas: Week 8 / Shutter Card Technique

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I will be sharing the LIVE presentation I did for my Twelve Weeks of Christmas. This is Week 8 and I’m sharing how to create the Shutter Card Technique … it is fun and easy! You won’t think that looking at the card, but when I show you how quickly it goes together … you’ll be heading into your craft room to get your stampin’ groove on!!

Check out the card first, and then the video ….

The first two cards are created with the Winter Meadow Designer Series paper …

Just to recap … I used the second (smaller) square die to create the “anchor” to my Shutter Card, then you can layer it as desired. Don’t forget that Wink of Stella on the berries of our Moody Mauve card because it really adds that touch of Christmas glimmer to your card.

What I did not realize is that the Snowflake Foil Specialty paper has already SOLD OUT from the Retiring List, but use this quick and easy technique I shared with “any” designer paper that has a pattern the can be used in any direction.

The two pattern option is really fun and gives your card a wonderful twist. I hope you try out this technique, it really is much simpler than it looks, and I think my demonstration showed that to you.

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today. I appreciate that.

Have a wonderful day !

Candy Cane Wishes Embossing Tip

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I’m sharing the replay of last nights Facebook LIVE; a quick tip for Heat embossing your designer paper and taking it to another level … amazing! For those who watched last night, you will see a change to my card!!

Here is the video replay ….

Don’t those candy canes just look YUMMY!! Here is the original version of the card ….

I did put the dimensions for the card in the video but here they are again (above) for quick reference . I will list the ingredients for the card below … the Festive Foils Specialty paper and the Iridescent Trim are both on the Weekly Deals through midnight September 28th.

Now lets take a little peek at what I did to the card after the camera was turned off. Remember the punched circles I had as back up??

I used the Garden Green circle behind the candy canes to make them pop even more! It also really highlights our Iridescent bow. Even though the parts to my card belong with other “suites” doesn’t mean that they don’t look good together.

The quick tip to embossing our candy canes was made easy with the use of the “Embossing Additions Tool Kit’ … very handy!! You’ll want to add that to your wish list ❤ I think this is just a fun way to embellish your designer paper and take it to the next level.

Give this technique a try … enjoy your day!

Thank you for hanging out with me.

Simply Sunday: Christmas Scottie Card

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Yesterday I announced my newest Stamp Class … Christmas Scottie. The Scottie is so adorable and I just LOVE punches because they make your cardmaking a touch quicker! I teamed up the Christmas Scottie with a quick and easy technique I shared at my Halloween Class … The magic of markers to dress up a plain black and white piece of designer paper.

Join me now as I share how easy this Christmas cutie is to make ….

I began with a Basic Black base and a piece of 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Real Red which will mat our designer paper which measures 3-3/4″ x 5″. Before you adhere your designer paper to the mat, you will be coloring it with your markers; I used Real Red and Garden Green. The designer paper is the Rustic Harvest Designer paper found in the Mini Catalog.

My sweet little Scottie Dog is punched out from the Metallic & Shimmer paper found in the Mini catalog… although you could use Basic Black. I then punched the bow out of Real Red and attached it to my puppy. I mounted my Christmas Scottie onto a piece of Vellum Cardstock that I had leftover from another project (it’s around 2″ in diameter). Don’t you love how the vellum makes the dog stand out more! This piece was popped up with dimensionals.

The greeting comes from our stamp set and was stamped in Garden Green ink to coordinate with the Garden Green stripes that we added to our designer paper. Don’t forget that you save 10% when you bundle the stamp set and punch. And the “eye” on my Scottie is actually one of the metallic dots on the specialty paper … cool right!?

I want to thank you for joining me today for my debut of Christmas Scottie. This will not be one of the cards in my class, but you know you’ll leave with totally cute cards (and a treat for your puppy!) plus there is always something “sweet” as a treat for you too.

Have a good day ~

Here is a list of supplies I used to create today’s card ….
